We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this villa in Crete! The house was fantastic – beautifully maintained with everything we needed for a perfect vacation. We even got some fresh fruits to settle in. The beds were very comfortable, and the view from the villa was simply spectacular. The pool was a real highlight, offering stunning scenery and a great place to relax (Also, never played table tennis with that scenery…). Within just a 10-minute drive, we found lovely beaches and charming taverns. Our host, Spyros, was extraordinarily friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel truly welcome. We totally recommend this villa, especially for families looking for a relaxing and unforgettable getaway! It’s not cheap but totally worth it!

Very nice house with a great atmosphere. We liked it even better than the pictures. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen that was very well equipped and had everything you needed for home cooking. We spent a lot of time on the big terrace with an astonishing mountain view! The neerby Ancient Lappa Taverna is great and the whole area has a lot of food options and historical places worth visiting. Nearest beach is 12 min in a car. Not the best beach, but there is other better options 25 min in car. Or 45 min to great beaches on the south coast (Damnoni). Eleni was a great host and easy to communicate with. Would definately come back.

I can’t say enough good things about Amalen. I found it on Air B & B and so I expected almost no interaction. Our stay was 5 star in every way. Jacob and the rest of the staff cared for us. They were so helpful. The breakfast was amazing and each day they knew we were headed out, they packed us a to go box…even on our day of departure. We had the best time and if ever in Crete would only stay with them again.

An entrance is framed by green double doors, opening to a softly lit corridor. Two wall-mounted lanterns provide illumination, while a simple wooden chair and a potted plant enhance the welcoming setting. The stone walls reflect the building's historical character.

Die Unterkunft ist speziell und historisch. Man(n) fühlt sich wie vor ein paar 100 Jahren. Das ganze Dorf liegt zwar nicht direkt am Meer, ist aber die Entfernung wert. Zum Strand braucht man circa 20-30 Minuten mit dem Auto. Man kann sich mit dem Dorfbewohnern gut unterhalten und bekommt so manches mit (Gemüse aus dem eigenen Garten und Käse/Feta). Es ist aber abends sehr ruhig und man kann die Aussicht auf dem Dach genießen …. ein atemberaubender und nicht vergessener Urlaub in einem alten Gefängnis bzw. In der Dorfstruktur. Hier fühlt man sich nicht wie ein Massentourist, sondern wie jemand, der zu Besuch in Kreta ist. Besonders der Vorraum und das Schlafzimmer sind großzügig geschnitten. Die Küche ist völlig ausreichend und das Zimmer für drei Kinder ebenso. Das Dach kann abends nach der Sonnenuntergang super genutzt werden. Eingekauft werden kann im nächsten Dorf und es sind keine Touristenpreise und Produkte. Ich komme gerne wieder .

Wunderschöne Unterkunft – genau wie auf den Bildern: sehr sauber, gemütlich und hochwertig eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war super lecker und vielseitig! Die Straße ist etwas laut, aber das hat unseren Aufenthalt kaum gestört. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

We had a wonderful stay here. Rustic, with enough modern touches to make it really comfortable. The house stays cool (which is good as it got to 37.5 degrees whilst we were there!). We would recommend this place to anybody who likes to escape the busy bustle of Crete's cities and live like a true local.

Nous aurions Aimé rester plus longtemps! L’appartement est comme à la maison, on ne manque de rien. Il fait frais malgré des grosses chaleurs grâce à l’aération et à la climatisation si besoin. Il y a de l’espace. Cela a été très confortable avec 2 enfants en bas âge. Le village est très calme, la vue donne sur la mer, les gens du village sont accueillants. On a adoré !
