This sunny, airy cottage is a five-minute walk to the Village and 2 minutes to the beach. The entry hall leads to a vaulted open-plan living space with fireplace and kitchen/dining area opening to a peaceful (church bells and birdsong) deck overlooking the Mill Pond. Single-floor plan includes three bedrooms and full bath off the entry hall (two with queen beds and one single) and a sofabed in the living area. An unfinished basement includes a washer/dryer and newly renovated bath with shower.

Enjoy a piece of history at this carriage house! Jonathan Bourne owned a mansion along with this home, and his son purchased a whaler, Lagoda, in 1841. The ship is currently displayed at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, which is walking distance; just four/five blocks of downtown New Bedford, where you can also enjoy shopping, great food, entertainment, and the ferry to either Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket. We are located a five minute walk from Bad Martha Farmer's brewery, and half a mile up the road from a boat ramp perfect for kayaks or small boats. Also available to short-term rental in the winter.
