The Oude Smederij is located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the village of Arum (on the Elfsteden route) and is centrally located between Harlingen (on the Wadden Sea with ferry services to Vlieland and Terschelling), Franeker (Planetarium and Frisian Museum), Bolsward (Broerekerk) and Makkum, located on the IJsselmeer with boulevard and beach.

A wonderfully beautiful old, rustic farm in Friesland. Does this sound like music to your ears? Then this is the vacation home for you! The house is divided into two living options. Downstairs is often inhabited by the owners, but upstairs is a fully enclosed theater attic, which also serves fantastically as a living area. Then it's a living room and kitchen in one, where you can play games or watch movies on a big screen. Mandatory tourist tax: €1.25 per person per night, to be paid on location

The house offers three bedrooms each with en-suite bathroom. It’s understated elegant interiors have been published in the UK House and Garden and the Residence interior magazines. Guests get to use the grand blue room with velvet clad walls and the souterrain kitchen with wood burning stove. There is a peaceful city garden with BBQ and outdoor seating. In the winter one can enjoy cosy evenings besides the various fireplaces, long dinners in the kitchen or baths in one of the bathrooms.

't Achterdijkje is a centrally located apartment in the authentic fishing village of 'Makkum'. The view of the sea dike and the masts of the ships in the harbor makes it the perfect location for rest and relaxation. From the front door, you can walk up the dike and have a view of the IJsselmeer and the port of Makkum. Fancy more life in the brewery? At about 200 meters is the center of Makkum and at about 2.5 km the beach with restaurants, shops and a top location for windsurfing!

On the Hidaard mound, you stay in the stylish front house of our old farmhouse, with its own entrance and facilities. Our house features a spacious kitchen and 2 bedrooms with private bathrooms. If you book for 2 people, you will get the lower floor, i.e. the kitchen and 1 bedroom. If you want to use 2 bedrooms, you must book for at least 3 people. Wake up to the sound of birds singing, panoramic views, and the cozy warmth of the wood-burning stove.
