Cabin vacation rentals in Winchester

Jill’s Wander Wild cabin was everything we were hoping for and more. It was fully stocked, and quiet and only minutes from town. The hot tub was wonderful, the bed was comfy and we absolutely loved listening to nature on the deck and drinking coffee in the mornings. We did a puzzle, listened to some music and just enjoyed the surroundings while we fell in love with the town. We will certainly be back if she’ll have us!

Fantastic getaway in the mountains, next to a babbling brook, with everything you could want. Just a quick trip down to the village but far enough away that it was super quiet. I'd been dreaming of an A frame with giant windows and a patio overlooking the trees and this was exactly it. That, plus the bonus of a cozy place to watch movies and hang out inside. It was my first trip to Idyllwild and I hope to come back again to stay here.

The cabin has all the amenities, but it was such a calming environment, that just sitting together for our anniversary, listening to the sounds of the forest and feeling the pleasant breeze was enough. Of course we used the hot tub under the stars and watched a bit of Stanley Tucci's show about Italy on Hulu during breakfast, but the cabin and it's location are the best thing happening. Going to dinner in town was about 5 minutes in the car, but we liked the cabin so much, we ate and returned to spend more time together, in a place so very different from our home in San Diego. We'll have to stay longer next time. Thanks David!

Our stay was perfect! The place had everything we needed—plenty of towels, comfy beds, and all the essentials. The host was incredibly responsive and quick to answer any questions. Overall, a fantastic place to stay!

Gorgeous views and surroundings. Kitchen is well stocked with high quality cooking supplies/pots/pans. Using the hot tub with the beautiful view was a dream. Waking up in the middle of the forest with birds singing was lovely. The hosts were wonderful - very responsive and kind.

Astrid was friendly and communicative and let us check in earlier which was really appreciated! Her place actually looked better than the photos and was a lovely rustic retreat. Close to town. My only regret was not utilizing the hot tub but it was scorching temps the weekend we went!

We absolutely love Michael and Cat’s place. This is our third time staying and love everything about the place. Great location close to town and hiking, charming and beautifully curated spaces (inside and out), and just an overall great place to chill/hang out. Super friendly hosts who are very responsive. Absolute heaven! Our favorite part of the stay was enjoying breakfast on the screened-in patio, listening to the birds and watching the scenery with our dog. Every square inch of the house is carefully thought out with beautiful details, and they have everything you need to feel at home. The beds and pillows are comfy, plenty of lighting, modern appliances, and the hosts are very communicative and helpful. We’ll definitely be coming back!

A Fantastic place to stay! The photos match the house. Place is very nice and quiet. The house was very spacious and had everything we needed for a cozy stay. Jaimy was very helpful and communicated really well with us throughout our stay.

This was hands down the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. In fact, staying here in this beautiful home and amazing location, it has influenced my boyfriend and I to start our journey with owning an Airbnb! I can’t say enough good things about this place! The house is lovely, we especially enjoyed the trees and how calm and secluded it felt. The house is smartly furnished, with an intelligent and elegant attention to decoration and detail. The screened windows and doors on the upper level allowed us to be comfortable even though the weather was warm during our stay, and the downstairs bedrooms were cozy. The only real challenge with the property is that you have to carry everything up a long steep set of stairs. If you have packed heavy suitcases, or are brining food in a cooler, bear this in mind. We didn't have any problems with this, but it was a bit of a chore when we loading and unloading the car. The host makes this very clear in the listing, and we loved the place. In practice, the stairs are part of what allows the house feels so pleasantly secluded. Our visit was in June and we are definitely of a mind to visit again, perhaps during the winter when we could enjoy having a fire in the wood-burning stove.

This is our 3rd or 4th time here- we just love this Airbnb, truly our favorite! Our doodles have such a big enclosed yard to play- with trees and lots of wildlife all around us. And the prefect view of the Tahquitz rock too! I don’t even look for other Airbnbs anymore in Idyllwild- I just message Ariya and book☺️. The home is always clean with everything we need for cooking and relaxing. I always appreciate the assorted teas from their store as well. This time, we made sure we took advantage of the hot tub after a hike and a run. The bathrobes are always appreciated and even helpful when it got a little chilly at night. Ernie Maxwell trail is just over a mile from the house and my big dog and I hiked/ran there twice- such a beautiful place to take your dog(s). Ariya and Marc are such perfect hosts- always communicating and ensuring we are enjoying our stay. I also appreciated it when Ariya messaged me that I could check in early. Thanks again Ariya! This is our second time staying at Lauren's cabin. This place is not your typical rental, it's homey, it's special. From the decor, the comfy furniture, the setting, the deck, the well-stocked kitchen, Cedar Rock has it all. We love how close it is to town for exploring the shops or a meal out. Our pup especially appreciated the fenced in backyard. The cabin is super clean and Lauren is very responsive. Until next time...

Beautiful house tucked away in the trees with everything you’ll need and a great deck to enjoy the outdoors! Also a fenced in yard for the pup! Communicative and friendly hosts who are also flexible. Very much enjoyed this cozy stay a short drive to the town center!

Great place to stay! It’s close by hiking trails and close to town. Would recommend this location to anyone visiting Idyllwild.

Had an excellent city escape again up in Idyllwild. The large fenced in backyard was a major bonus and the dogs loved it! This is not my first stay in one of Melissa's idyllwild homes and im sure i will be back again! This definitely hit the spot for what i needed for my get away.

We loved our stay at Elena’s place. It was so quaint and cozy. Country modern which is my favorite. Super clean and spot on. Very echo friendly. They gave us a welcome card and yummy chocolates, that was very sweet of them. They thought of everything and had everything you would need like your own home. The whole stay was memorable and relaxing. Even my 2 year old son enjoyed it. I would definitely stay there again and again in the future.

We had an awesome weekend. The cabin was very clean and it was very peaceful. It was wonderful to find a place that had a fenced in yard for the pups to run around. We cooked most meals there and the kitchen was well equipped. Thank you for sharing!

We had a fantastic time at Paul’s lighthouse! The views were amazing from all rooms and especially the deck. The kitchen was completely stocked with literally any cookware you would need. Everything was so clean and cute.. my family and pups can’t wait to go back!

Idyllwild is a wonderful place to disconnect from the noise of the outside world. Mike’s charming Gladstone Cabin was in the midst of a bucolic wonder. Check-in was a breeze. Immediate gratification in enjoying all that the cabin has to offer. And it offers a lot. We really enjoyed the veranda looking out to a forest of verdant Ponderosa Pines. If you love birds, you will be wooed by Steller’s Jays, American Robins, Spotted Towhees, and Lesser Goldfinches. You will feel hugged. Mike was a pleasure to communicate with. He was quick to respond even when he was out of the country. He has a beautiful home, a short drive from town. If you’re looking to stay in Idyllwild, you can’t go wrong with the Gladstone Cabin.

We had a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Well appointed cabin. Very nice to have a television in each room and also a wireless sound system. Looking up at the stars from the hot tub was also a major plus!

It was a wonderful experience at Don and Julie's Airbnb. I had great conversations with Julie and my husband had the same talking with Don. Will definitely stay there again!
