You can enjoy the grassy fields while watching sailboats and fishing charters skim the horizon and beachgoers frolic below. A handful of events are staged here throughout the year, like the near-weekly free Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series from May to September.

The Boardwalk

Spanning 38 blocks, the Wildwoods Boardwalk is the town’s epicenter of fun, packed with souvenir shops, fried-food shacks, and a seaside amusement park with more than 100 rides. Lights, music, and fun abound under the neon glow of this historic boardwalk that was established in the late 19th century.

Cape May National Wildlife Refuge

This five-mile stretch of protected shoreline along the Delaware Bay is home to a unique and diverse array of birdlife and coastal ecosystems. Hardwood swamps, bogs, and beaches provide nesting grounds for hundreds of thousands of migratory shorebirds that share the environment with songbirds on their way to Central and South America. In addition, lots of hiking trails provide some of the best birdwatching and photo opps on the East Coast.
