Unique octagon home set over the South Fork of the New River. Large deck overlooks scenic river view. Open the windows and feel the fresh air and hear the river below. Steps to the river enable fishing, kayaking, swimming, river walking or a great place to watch the sun set. Inside, the all wood 1,600 square feet is centered by a huge stone fireplace in a sunken living room open to the dinning room and kitchen creating a wonderful 'heart' for visiting and sharing a meal. This little cabin, surrounded by mountain laurels with a bubbling creek that runs behind the screened back porch, features a downstairs bedroom with a queen bed and a sleeping loft with two twins. The rustic interior is comprised of huge logs, cement chinking, with wood floors, walls, doors, and ceilings. The gas logs in the fireplace are surrounded by floor to ceiling rocks. The kitchen with stainless appliances is well appointed. One and a half baths and laundry room provide conveniences.

We are 1/2 mile from the North Fork of New River. It's a perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy the mountains. Dogs welcome.

Hurricane Helene Update: We are incredibly fortunate that our property did not suffer damage from the storm and the main roads to and from our home are accessible. Internet and power have been restored, and our property is ready to offer a lovely refuge for anyone needing a temporary place to stay. We are devastated by the losses experienced in Western NC and encourage any locals to reach out with a message prior to booking if you want to spend a few days at the Hemlock. We want to help.
