The Sinclair Suite

This 1 bedroom/1 bath private home was originally a historic Sinclair gas station. Renovated in 2023, we’ve kept as much of the original building’s elements as possible while restoring it to create both a unique and relaxing experience. The bay area has been converted into a living/sleeping space that includes a TV & seating area as well as two queen-sized beds and a sleeper sofa. The former office space now features a full kitchen. A back patio, firepit, washer & dryer are all located on site.

Built in the Northeast 1/4 of our 70+ yr old barn, the Barnhouse is a two story cabin with two bedrooms, full bathroom downstairs and half bath upstairs, full kitchen, two large decks, and a patio/grilling area. There is a queen bed and a twin in one bedroom upstairs and a queen in the other, a large comfortable couch and camp cots available for sleeping downstairs. Fully immersive ranch experience as the Barnhouse is part of our working barn which adjoins our cowpens, stack lot, and tack room.

We have recently remodeled a three bedroom home conveniently located off 287 in Childress, Tx! This is the perfect stop if traveling through on 287 or 83. We have everything you need if you want to cook in or you have many options to grab food just 5 minutes from the house. We also have many great places for local shopping and sight seeing if interested. We have ceiling fans in all the rooms! A storm cellar is also in the backyard in the event of a storm.

So, to say this place is a haven of inspiration for artists, is an understatement. I don’t think I realized when I booked it, how cool it was that this place was sitting on Route 66. I just wanted to stay in a “treehouse,” and they had built one! But that’s not all they built! There is a cabin in a 100 year-old one room school house, a museum, several campsites for tents, and up and coming cabins that look AMAZING. Everything is whimsical and there’s art everywhere you look, and the main area has a canopy of elm trees that makes the whole place feel like a dream. Sam, the artist who built this “town,” will take you on a tour of the countryside and show you all kinds of bits of history that you probably would never have encountered otherwise. He will be around if you need anything, or not around if you prefer privacy. (We had a blast with him and were glad he was there.) The whole place and experience just inspires art, and Sam didn’t even seem to mind that I got glitter everywhere. 😂 My girlfriend wrote a song called “Under The Elm Trees,” inspired by our time here, and I started a painting that I will bring back so it can stay under the Elms that inspired it. I cannot recommend this place enough, especially for artists or anyone who just wants some peace and quiet. I know we plan on coming back every year. This place is pure beauty!!!
