Cottage vacation rentals in Waimea

It’s hard to put into words the true magic of this ranch, the land and the beautiful historic cottages. It’s one of those places that needs to be experienced to fully appreciate. But from the moment you arrive, you feel like you’ve been transported into a dream world. The cottages have been so lovingly restored, preserving their history while also not comprising on any modern luxuries. The bath house at Yoshi is absolutely divine. I spent hours reading in the cowboy tub to serene garden sounds. The ocean views from the deck and under the magnificent Monkey Pod tree are so heavenly - you have unobstructed views of the most stunning sunsets and whales and even Maui. And the stars!!! The stars at night are the brightest I’ve ever seen! Christie is spectacular and goes out of her way to make you feel at home. And the sweet little town of Hawi is just minutes away. This is by far one of my most favorite Airbnb experiences, and it will be the first of many visits! Book it, you’ll LOVE it!!

Although we have stayed at other of Michael’s units,this is the first time we stayed at “the cottage”. It was wonderfully private, in a beautiful tropical area, with a private deck that we used a lot. Michael is definitely a special and very gracious host, and we always look forward to staying in the lovely paradise he has created. Thank you for another fabulous visit.

The cottage was exactly as described and exactly what I’d hoped for! Jacklynn’s property was gorgeous and I really enjoyed my time exploring the steam vent trail, tubs and pool. It was the perfect way to end my time on the Big Island!

If you prioritize peace and love to explore, this is the Airbnb for you. We have stayed in a wide variety of accommodations in Hawaii over the last 5 years and this is the place we will return to next year. We loved being able to use the pool each day with our young children. The critters and creatures on the property were so much fun to listen to and observe. The accommodations were neat and tidy and the location of the ranch allows to a variety of experiences that are only a short drive away. If you stay in Hawaii, be prepared to share your home with critters - ants are common as are house geckos and this airbnb was no exception. If you want a resort stay - this is not the accommodation for you. If you want old Hawaii, easy access to local produce, unique experiences and peace - this is the place for you.

We loved our stay at the cottage. A simple, historic-feeling, stress-free escape into a world far different from the normal daily grind. The chickens are wonderful (a few got quite familiar with us after a 10-day stay), the nightly frog symphony was very peaceful to us in its natural cadence, and the cottage was clean and easy feeling. The location was wonderful for jumping off into all sorts of big-island sight-seeing and activities. This was a trip I gave to my elderly mother and she could not have been happier. We love Miss Jacklynn’s place. Our second stay here and everything is perfect. The property is peaceful and quiet. Super clean and had everything we needed. Loved falling asleep to the frogs every night. The tubs and dip pool are a bonus. Great couple days to really relax and unplug. We looked forward to Kalo coming to visit us and miss him and the island. Mahalo Miss Jacklynn for having us. We will be back 🤙Tip: We did Shipman Beach twice. It is a little hike but never disappoints.

Absolutely perfect place to stay! Comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had everything you could possibly need for a stay. Both indoor and outdoor spaces were a delight and made for a perfect stay. Super convenient access to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and beautiful peaceful surroundings. Host was proactive, friendly, helpful, and provided lots of great info. Would be delighted to stay here again.

Our family’s stay at Liko Lehua Cottage was nothing short of amazing! The moment we arrived, we were swept away by the serene beauty of the Hapu‘u forest and the peaceful charm of Mauna Loa Estates. The cottage itself is immaculate, the thoughtful Hawaiian designs, spotless, felt filled with warmth and welcoming touches that made it feel like a true home away from home. We enjoyed coffee on the lanai surrounded by lush greenery. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked, and showed real care and aloha. Mahalo nui loa to our wonderful host, Shannon for sharing this beautiful retreat.

Amazing location, beautiful cabin, lush nature, and all the tasteful details… this place has it all! We loved it so much we were about to go back a week later again!

My husband & I enjoyed our stay here. Everything about our stay was PERFECT! The aesthetic, the surrounding, the atmosphere and vibe was outstanding! We only stayed for a night but waking up to the view of a rainforest was beautiful. The hot tub was amazing especially when used at night because the air was crisp and cold. Very relaxing and peaceful. 10/10 recommend to anyone who considers staying here. We will be back!

Absolute Gem! Extremely close to Volcano National Park (10 min), very private, great amenities (had everything you could possibly ask for, or need, and more), easily accessible, very clean, beautiful property…I would highly recommend The Tea House Cottage. Excellent find….Thank You 👍

Our stay at this beautiful place was magical! Was better then described and even better then the photos. The lush surroundings, the beautiful sounds of the forest and the gorgeous cottage all made for a perfect stay. We loved the soaking tub and the breakfast. We will recommend this place to our friends and we will definitely be back!

The space is beautiful, airy, open. Outside is filled with flowers along the walkway and plumeria outside the front door. Downtown Hilo is within quick driving distance. This is an extraordinary listing and I will definitely try to return!

This is a literal hidden gem! Google maps took us to the end of the street but the entrance to the property was right next to it. Park on the street by the white garage doors and take the steps to the left up to the gated entrance. It is motion activated so you can see while you're entering the access code. You will feel completely secluded on this property and it was so relaxing and peaceful! The coqui frogs at night put us to sleep. The fragrant flowers surrounding the property were very pleasing. This cottage is in the middle of the three. There is a walkway that will take you to it but it goes in front of another cottage. We just walked straight and then cut across the grass to enter the cottage. It does require a lot of walking up and down steps on top of the long path to the home itself but the exercise was good for us all, especially eating all the ono food! It was a great trip home.

Kelly’s place was perfect. Quiet, private and lots of covered outdoor spaces with lots of room. The home was clean and had everything we needed. She even had a nice notebook filled with things to know and do around the area. We enjoyed our daily walks to the ocean and met lots of people enjoying the area. I would recommend Kelly’s place for anyone who wants to enjoy all that the East side of the Big Island has to offer.

The place was conveniently located within walking distance of the HILO downtown district, where you will find local shops and good restaurants. There are also three supermarkets within 1.5 miles and a short drive to other national chains of stores. You are also near many attractions, including the beach, all within walking or short driving distance, with easy parking. The house offers private parking, which was nice. However, there are some stairs to climb as described in the listing, so it's not wheelchair or elderly-friendly if you carry a lot of heavy luggage. The house came with some basic cookware, and with a short distance to the supermarket and local farmers' market, you can save a lot of money not eating out if you choose to stay in and spend time with family. I would 100% stay there again or any property that Jason is listing. Great Host!

We loved Autumn's jungle cottages and would recommend her place. Great for small groups with separate accommodations. Beautiful outdoor gathering bbq area and every kind of plants. highly recommend

Beautiful spot in the jungle near the volcano. Super private, jungle hottub was definitely the star of the stay. Communication was great.

Quiet, cozy place to rest after going out. Make sure you take time to view the night sky whenever you wind down. The lava rocks and the background is a surreal experience. The kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom is clean. There are plenty of coals if you want to bbq. Bring your own water and food supplies. The only con I have is mosquitoes. Make sure you have mosquito repellents. Thankfully, the beds have curtains over them. Don’t be like me and forget to utilize that before sleeping unless you want to wake up with mosquitoes all over.

We had an outstanding time at Matt’s property and used it as a base for visiting Volcano National Park and Hilo. The property was beautiful and the surroundings were full of lush, native flora. Matt communicated well and gave great recommendations. Thank you for your hospitality, Matt!
