The place is just terrific. It is surrounded by nature, very quiet and very close to nature. You can hear the birds, the water. It's just a magical place and perfect to arrive at or enjoy the tranquility. I loved meditating by the water or doing yoga. I would come back anytime. Thanks so much for the nice days.

We had an amazing stay here, a peaceful retreat from our jobs in the middle of the nature. Great amenities with the pool & pool table, table tennis and BBQ. Will definitely go here again one day

Very spacious house, very well-equipped and very friendly, ideal for a stay with family and teenagers who can have their space. Dedicated parking at the house, nearby. Great welcome and cool drinks on arrival. For swimming, municipal swimming pool and river accessible by car (to the left of the bridge, opposite the picnic area)

Host was excellent to communicate with . Views were spectacular and the garden and surroundings were very tranquil . An abundance of fruit to pick from the orchard and the Pool was clean and maintained. A great place which is so pet friendly. The only downside is the barking of dogs around the property which at night may disturb the light sleeper . Overall a superb place to stay .

Leonel's place is the reason we prefer airbnb to hotels. This little cottage in a little village high up in the mountains above the Douro valley immerses you in the experience - from the breathtaking views to the sound of birds and smells of the fruit trees that surround the house. Leonel, who lives on the property nearby, is the perfect host, extremely generous, friendly and caring he's what all airbnb hosts should aspire to be. If your'e considering visiting the Douro valley and don't mind staying a bit off the beaten path, stay here - you won't regret it!

Excellent space for large groups with excellent rooms and amenities.

An excellent, very quiet space. Extremely clean and with everything that was essential. Mrs. Ana and Mr. Artur were always friendly, they made us feel at ease and we couldn't have asked for more. We loved the space and the area.

Filipa's converted mill is a wonderful place, hidden between the hills. Our kids enjoyed playing in the river and observing the wildlife around it. There are some great restaurants nearby and good hiking opportunities in the nearby national park. Filipa was very helpful and provided lots of recommendations for the surroundings.

The apartment is comfortable and with everything you need to live there in comfort. Franz is a kind, helpful, and discreet host. He gave us the opportunity to use his pool given the heat of those days, to eat the grapes he grows and the lemons. We rarely had such a good time. We also had the company of his very nice cat Tom who occasionally came to say hello to us. The house is in a location away from the chaos of the city and offers an enchanting landscape. You need a car to get around.

We rented it for 2 nights in June, and the view is exactly as it it shown in the pictures - perhaps even better! The location is isolated and call so no noises from cars or others. Sansão was really helpfull, auick response and the bread and port uppn arrival das very kind! A true super host indeed :) Happy we booked this, would recommend it to others.

I loved the stay!! I went with my family (there were 7 of us in total) and it was perfect! Helena was super responsive and flexible, it was almost like staying at a close friend's house. Pitões das Junias is beautiful!

The place is wonderful, between mountains and perfect for disconnecting. The house is simply spectacular, you can tell that they have put your soul in that project. It is a luxury home surrounded by nature. Materials, appliances, decoration, etc, all of the very first quality and with very good taste. We are a family of 5 and have spent Christmas at Casa da Eira Velha. Gloria's reception was unique, we had a large basket with fruit, nuts, homemade jams and local honey as well as vegetables from her orchard waiting for us! Any questions we had Gloria resolved it in less than 30 minutes. The house is dreamy in a place to disconnect and rest!

Truly a gem, perfect place to stay for a little longer and hike around - both me and my dog loved it. Pedro and Cristina are great hosts, everything went as planned :-)

this is the get way off the beaten path way to visit the Douro Valley. way up in the hills above towns right in the middle of the vineyards. about 20 minutes to town. Amazing views and surroundings! Bring your sense of adventure and a smaller car. Would definitely stay there again
