Fitness-friendly vacation rentals in U.S. Virgin Islands

Our stay at Nanyamka’s place was really nice. She was kind, proactive about things like power outages, and helpful. The unit is new with lots of indoor space. Other reviewers mentioned that the interior is dark—it is true that there is not a lot of natural light (all windows do look out onto a rock wall or storage space), but we weren’t there during the day, so it was fine for us. There are amazing beaches not that far away so we spent our daylight hours there! The exterior has a separate and shared porch with amazing views. There were a few amenities we needed to purchase like dish soap, toilet paper, cooking oil, and Cascade, but we used them during our week-long stay, so it was worth it. Like other guests, I cannot recommend strongly enough renting a car—we got a Jeep and are so glad we did. It is a bit remote. We are not used to such steep roads, sharp curves, and avoiding huge potholes, so the Jeep made our whole stay on this island so much easier and safer-feeling.

We loved this condo. Well appointed kitchen including a dishwasher and all the appliances you could ask for. Washer and dryer were very useful after a day at the beach . Everything was so close that we didn’t feel we needed a car (even tho you get a dedicated parking space). Shared taxis to the beaches are just 5 mins walk away. We appreciated use of the included beach chairs which were easy to carry on trips .

Loved staying at Lime Tree! We stayed at 2 places in St. Thomas. This one, and one at Sapphire Beach. Lime Tree has a more secluded beach. It's small, but beautiful. If you're more into amazing view than getting in the ocean, this is great! There are some reefs around to snorkle (rent from the shop at the resort), but other than relaxing and eating, there's not much to do immediately around. The grounds were kept very clean. I would definitely stay here again for a lazy, relaxed retreat.

I like these locations for local staycations. I have stayed with Dell multiple times and look forward to staying again. Locations are private, can be noisy but it’s quiet MOST times from my experience, and just a minute walk away from my favorite beach. Coki Point. I definitely recommend if these are some of the things you’re looking for!

Absolutely gorgeous view! From bed I could see the marina and the water. So close to red hook. 5 dollar taxi to town and back. 100 percent would stay again! And he let me check in early! Obssesed! Walking distance from Sapphire

We had 2 couples staying here and it was great! The condo itself is well set up and very clean. They even let us drop off our bags early the day we checked in which we really appreciated. The pool and tennis courts are great! FYI we did have to bring our own tennis rackets and balls and there is no place to rent them, but Ana communicated this to us when we asked. The porch was also great for hanging out. The beach at the condo is nice and other beautiful beaches are a short drive away. It is about a 5 minute drive into red hook town. You definitely need a car here though, as it is not a walkable island and there is not much that you can walk to. The roads have no sidewalk or shoulder and walking around the main roads here would be very dangerous. There is plenty of parking within this condo area. Overall we had a great stay and recommend this condo!! Just definitely get a car so you can go explore the rest of the island and get to restaurants!

We had an amazing stay, thanks to Candice! From the moment we arrived, she welcomed us warmly and took the time to walk us through all the details of the house, making sure we felt right at home. Not only was the home exactly as described, but Candice also went above and beyond by sharing the best spots to visit in St. Thomas, which made our trip even more special. Her communication was seamless throughout our stay—she was always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. We also ran into a minor issue with our booking, and Candice handled it professionally and efficiently, ensuring everything was resolved smoothly.

This unit was a beautiful location overlooking the resort pool and Cruz bay. The unit was clean and well kept. I can’t wait to go back!

The most beautiful view and the best bed everrrr! Everything was spacious and we just stop gushing over the amenities. Perfect stay

Mike's place was great. It could easily fit our group of 4 but could have accommodated 6 comfortably. The Marriott check in process was easy. The property itself is walkable, but depending on where your room is located, you may have several (slow) elevator trips to get to the pool or the lobby. There is a restaurant and market on property where you can get enough to get by, but prices are high and food is not great. There are better restaurants at the Westin next door. Unfortunately you can't access the Westin next door by foot, but there is a free shuttle. Taxi's will take you all over, but charge by person. Plan to spend $12-20 per person, per ride. I highly suggest stopping at a grocery store on the way from the airport. The room only provides 2 days worth of coffee. But the kitchen is fully equipped, so I would take advantage of that. The concierge was great in assisting with our day trips. Mike was great getting my name changed on the reservation and quick to respond.

Tracy’s place is perfect! Walking distance to great restaurants in Cruz, the ferry, and the taxi stand. Could not have chosen a better area for our first trip to STJ. Her welcome guide is super helpful and the condo has beach chairs, coolers, towels, etc. so you can pack light. Would definitely recommend having a few things delivered from the grocery store (we used Dolphin Market but it is walkable). Don’t miss a happy hour at Beach Bar!

The condo was as described and matched the pictures on the listing. It was very quiet, we did not hear any noise from neighbours. Nice view from the balcony. We did not go to the beach or use the pool as we were busy with excursions every day. Ditto for the kitchen - we ate out every night but it looked fully equipped for those wanting to cook at home. This time of year the beach seemed to be full of sea grass but we had a car so drove to the north side of the island to Magen’s beach which was beautiful. Parking at the condo was easy. Not sure how walkable the area is to get to restaurants as there are a lot of hills and roads are not well lit at night. I would definitely recommend renting a car if you’re staying in this part of the island, and generally makes it easier to explore St Thomas or nearby St John by ferry. The ferry terminal was just a 5 minute drive from the condo and also where we took a boat day trip from so very convenient for that.

Beautiful peaceful getaway! Standing at the end of the pool deck was definitely my favorite place of the entire property! This home is a bit off the beaten path, but less than 10 or 15 minutes into town to get whatever you need. The local host Alisha and her husband were extremely responsive and helpful for any minor issues that we raised. Overall, an exceptional experience. FYI - For families, the master bedroom and the three other bedrooms are quite separated by distance, and one is on a different floor, so just be aware if you have small children. For teens or young adults, I think this is a perfect family set up.

Everything about Shamalie deserves the highest accolades from the home’s spectacular and elegant design, cleanliness, swimming pool, and top-notch amenities to the convenient location with breathtaking views of the harbor. Shirley is the consummate host. Personable, friendly, attentive, communicative and provides outstanding service to ensure a comfortable stay. It’s a 5-star plus property. I’m designating Shamalie as my official “go to”AirBNB whenever I need a home away from home on the beautiful island of St. Thomas. I can’t wait to return!

Pura Vida was lovely! The entire home was spotless. The views and the outdoor pool was our favorite. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The grounds were beautiful and interesting. The ruins had its own little history lesson and we loved the shell book and its history to previous owners of the home. We couldn’t have had a better experience. Thank you so much!

Had a wonderful time at Susan’s place in St. Croix! The unit is in a peaceful neighborhood convenient to town. It’s very clean and modern on the inside and the mini-splits operate quietly and will keep you comfortable at night. The only issue I had was the directions from the app took me to a house on the next street over, but I just drove around the corner and noticed the green and white house from the pictures. Susan was very nice and easy to communicate with. Overall, it was a very relaxing experience.

Lynn’s place was fantastic. The kitchen was truly amazing. I have never had a kitchen so well stocked. It was excellent. Everything you could ever need. The. Entire place was perfect.

We are an incredible stay at the Hills. The property was exactly as described, beautifully appointed, exceptionally clean with every amenity. The views were amazing. The staff was very helpful in arranging for grocery delivery... We will definitely return.

This hilltop house had magnificent views. The sunrise was inspiring each morning from the deck. The house was roomy and clean. The kitchen was great it had everything. The bedrooms afforded the ability to sleep with all the windows open to the night air. It was Avery private and quiet location with a star filled sky. .

We had a wonderful stay in Salt River! The home is beautiful. The views are breathtaking from every part of the property. The grounds are well manicured and the pool was a hit with our kids! The kitchen had all of the amenities needed for home cooked meals. One note that I wish we would have understood more clearly…If you have small children, this house would not be ideal. We have two young boys and the main house has only one bed/bedroom, They were a little too scared to stay in the other bedrooms which are detached from the main house. We made it work! However, our teenage daughter was in heaven being in a detached space!!!! The downstairs neighbors who rent part of the home for some of the year were lovely and so very helpful! I cannot thank Mandie enough for her tips about St. Croix’s beaches and activities. She is the best! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again! This home is a true paradise.
