Raven Cottage

Raven cottage was wonderfully quirky, full of character with slightly rustic charm. The bed was very comfy and after a day walking along the beautiful beaches and headlands I slept really well. The kitchen was appreciated with everything you could need.

Self-catering, high-end home near the beach

CatherineRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This is truly a luxury retreat. From the soft, elegant furnishings to the inspiring or peaceful views out every window, we found this a wonderful place to relax from our daily photo adventures in the surrounding countryside. The open plan modern kitchen was well stocked with everything we would have needed for cooking, however, we wound up eating our dinners at several excellent restaurants nearby. Shiona has designed the accommodation to be so comfortable that we did not feel guilty for starting our days late and coming "home" early. Details such as a Bluetooth speaker, USB ports in the bedside wall sockets, recessed candle lighting next to the fabulous clawfoot tub, and fur-like throws to snuggle in with a good book will more than compensate for any bad weather days.

Beautiful cottage in a wonderful Highland setting

RebeccaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
How to describe what my husband and I experienced here in 1000 characters or less is impossible. Torfeddy had everything we were looking for! 4 days wasn’t nearly enough. Maggie has the gem of a lifetime here. If you like to escape and explore then this is the place for you. If you’re looking for yourself again, this is the place for you. Everything’s we needed was here. Hiking everyday in order to see real Scotland was just what we wanted in every sense of the word. We even got lucky enough to see the seals. Maggie is the sweetest! The absolute tops! Wendy down at the market was the most helpful and Luz down at the secret tea garden was the kindest! When we come back Maggie, and we will one day. We pray we can find you again and stay a bit longer in your paradise. To say this was the highlight of our trip is a huge understatement! This was the best part. Drumbeg is our favourite village in Scotland hands down! Thank you so much Maggie!

3 bed home by the sea with mountain views

CharlotteRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Fantastic location overlooking the bay, with the most spectacular scenery and views to the mountains. Shona was a very responsive, accomodating and friendly host. The cottage was so homely, clean and peaceful, we didn't want to leave. We were even spoilt with warm and sunny weather in October and had a very close encounter with a pod of common dolphins on a boat tour with North Coast Sea Tours from Lochinver harbour. We enjoyed walks in Culag Woods down to the sea and up onto the moors on the Little Assynt Estate with more stunning views of the mountains as well as a lovely walk over to Ardvreck Castle on Loch Assynt. We saw many dragonfiles, lots of birdlife, including birds of prey and stonechat by the cottage and lots of mosses and lichens in the woodlands giving an otherworldy feel. Enjoyed learning about the geology of the area at Knockan Crag on route to the cottage too. A very special couple of days that we won't forget. The highlight of our holiday in the highlands of Scotland.
