Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Uganda

Great house with a wonderful terrace above the lake. No mosquitoes in the house as the host put good mosquito nets and we closed all windows well before sunset. Dinner and beer on the terrace were wonderful. We had stars above and the quiet lake below. Across the lake is a simple village specialised in local beer, grilled pork and simple shopping. It is 500 meters by canoe or motorboat.

It was beyond our expectations. Very nice and warm environment.

My family and I had a great stay at the cottage. My 18 month old had space and play... run and even a swing. We enjoyed the silence ... a great gateway from city life. The view of lake Victoria was amazing...( a true gem )

This was a very nice place, quiet and relaxing. It has a great garden for someone who loves nature.I spent a great deal of my time sitting outside enjoying the cool breeze and a nice view . Inside was very homely. Comfortable seats, nice dining area, Clean bathrooms and sizable kitchen. If you love playing piano as I do, this is the place. I will definitely return here.

The house is immaculate.Very clean and in a quite serene place. Stephen was very responsive thus the check in process was smooth.The caretaker was friendly and assisted us to settle in the place and our stay was very enjoyable. I will sure be back.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Two young kids loved it. It was peaceful and relaxing. Grace, Sarah, and Ziva were all so kind and friendly and they took really good care of us. It was much more like visiting friends than staying at just another nice place.

Jojo is a very warm and welcoming host. Her place was easy to find and she greeted us when we arrived. She also lives in the house and she made us a delicious breakfast in the mornings which filled us up for the whole day. She has a beautiful garden which we enjoyed sitting in and picking gooseberries from. She even sent my friend home with some flower seeds. Overall, a comfortable, quiet and welcoming place if you want to feel right at home in Fort Portal!

Communication at the start was very poor but after meeting Hamza at reception he was very understanding and accommodating as-well as friendly. Very nice place. It will be my go to when I travel back next year. Friendly housekeeping staff. Very Safe place with Security on deck especially if you have kids. They make sure the visitors are happy first. I highly recommend staying here! I’ve stayed in a dozen places in Uganda and this by far the best. The apartment has everything you need and is beautifully decorated. The host, Karungi Grace, is very helpful and communicative. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable! The rooftop is especially awesome with beautiful views in every direction. Next time I come to Uganda I will definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay at Bavaria Homes (the blue one) in Fort portal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The home was well furnished with all necessary supplies. Its location was abit tricky to find, I’m hoping that they can put up a signpost in the future. If you’re animal phobic, they’re three dogs that reside there, it wouldn’t be ideal. But if you love animals that’s the place to be since the hosts are animal friendly. The home has excellent views of the Rwenzori ranges and other beautiful landscapes. This can be seen on the terrace of the house. Overall this home is worth your money.

This apartment was absolutely lovely! Beautifully decorated and very clean, perfect for our family of 5. We enjoyed walking to Cafe Javas and all the stores at Forest Mall. The area was quiet and peaceful and we felt safe. The hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating, allowing us flexibility at check-in and check-out while we were getting our transport sorted. We will definitely be staying here every time we come to Kampala!

At Elizabeth’s apartment you’re gonna find a home away from yours. Security first off is great; with a day watch person and a night security team. The perimeter wall surrounding the premises appears top notch too. I personally never once worried for my safety, unlike previous times I’ve lived elsewhere in Kampala. The road close by is being used as a detour by several suburb residents, so expect a little noise during rush hour times. Besides that little noise there is pure serenity in house and outside, in the gardens south of the premises. The staff is ever attentive, so helpful, always smiling regardless time of the day, and most importantly so respectful. Even on cleaning days they worked on our schedule and never intruded in our space. The a/c was a little hard to work initially, but Elizabeth gave us instructions and it was smooth sailing afterwards. Observe the solar energy guidelines provided in the apartment and use the power meaningfully. Overall, this is a place i came to love and call home. Everything is as advertised, except that neon shower: that’s way better in reality than in the pictures. I would definitely recommend and also stay here again when in Kampala. Thank you Elizabeth.

My partner and I have been coming to Uganda for long stays over the last few years, and this was most wonderful and authentic Airbnb experience so far. JPs stylish cabin is nestled inside a community that feels very peaceful, surrounded by nature and with a wonderful view of the Rwenzori mountains. yet you can get to the city of Fort Portal in a 15-20 minute boda or car ride. Meeting JP was also one of the highlights of this stay. He is very warm, friendly and great to chat to. He is very responsive and quickly available. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. When we informed JP we would be working remotely in the cabin during our 2 week stay he quickly installed a WiFi router and upgraded the solar electricity installation to accommodate us. Highly recommend booking this place during your visit to Fort Portal for a truly pleasant and unique stay!

Patrick is an amazing host, the place is nice mostly waking up to the amazing view of the calm Nile river, birds chirping and monkeys all over the trees was such a great experience. The only challenge was the endless power issues we experienced for the two nights and maybe lack of a screen indoors for some aesthetic and entertainment! On top of that, furniture needs a little upgrade, it’s old and some is actually broken! In general, the stay was fair!
