Tokurako "Hanagasa-no-Yu" hot spring can be reached in 5-8 minutes by car from the private lodging. Breakfast is in the refrigerator in the room.Guests can cook their own meals and relax in the room. The main house next door is a cafe run by its own company (Sweet House Cafe). Opening time: 11:00 - 18:00 (Closed every Thursday) It is a 10-minute drive to Ginzan Onsen and 20 minutes to Oishida Station. We accept reservations for 2 or more people. Seizekan, a farmer's inn, is located in the mountains about 25 minutes by car from Kakunodate, Akita Prefecture, and a 15-minute walk from Hachimangu Naganodairu Station on the Akita Inland Railway. Surrounded by rice fields, it is a quiet and natural environment. We renovated the second floor of a farm work shed that used to be a cowshed, and created an accommodation space with a kitchen, bath, and toilet. This space is for one group of guests per day. Some people say, "It's like returning to my parents' house." In the summer, we recommend that you spend a leisurely time feeling the breeze, and in the winter, we recommend that you lie back and listen to the sound of the boiling water in the hot water heater while facing the firewood stove. Please feel free to look into the vinyl greenhouse or go out to the hot springs.

About the Omagari Fireworks Festival (Daisen City) on August 31st Traffic is very crowded and there will be a lot of traffic on the day. The time indicated by Google map can not come from the fireworks display venue to our inn in 1 hour and 14 minutes.It takes 3-5 hours on that day.The fireworks display will probably end or arrive at Katasumi as early as 1 o'clock at night and around 2 o'clock.If you're making a reservation for that date, please understand this before booking.Please note that we cannot pick you up and drop you off by car.

Recommended to go here by car, as it's not near the station nor the center, but there are a couple of great temples nearby as well as convenience stores and some restaurants. Free parking is present, but not for very large cars.

I have to say that this is the highlight of this trip in Japan. Mitsuru san friendly welcomed me even I arrived early in the morning. He introduced his house and how he enjoyed his life living in country side. After some discussion, we decided to go somewhere deep inside the mountain that foregine travellers could hardly found. We had a delicious lunch and went to take a bath in an onsen that a solo traveller relying on pulic transport like me can never reach. What really inspires me is our conversation during the drive in his car which was so fruitful and informative （ I can only speak poor Japanese, but Mitsuru san would listen and gradually explain to me by his fluent English), which helps me to understand more in local life and culture. I have to express my deepest gratitude to Mitsue san（Mitsuru san's wife) for making a fascinating dinner using local food for me. I would greatly recommend here to travellers seeking for a closer experience in Japan countryside lifestyle !

This was one of the most memorable stays I’ve ever had. The location is stunning, surrounded by nature and less than 10 minutes by car from both Hoshinomura Observatory and Abukuma Caves. The room was spacious and beautifully traditional. The bath felt like a private onsen-absolutely superb. The highlight of my stay was 朋恵san’s incredible hospitality. She welcomed me like family, including me in meals (we even had a BBQ!) and warm conversations. I truly felt at home. It was a perfect Golden Week experience, and honestly, the value was so good I felt guilty for not paying more. If I ever travel back to Fukushima, I won’t think twice. I’ll definitely stay here again.

An inn where I stayed for one night in January 2025 and decided to "visit again". After 5 months, I decided to "take it easy this time" and stayed for 3 nights. The house, which is carefully maintained in every corner, is really comfortable and makes you feel open.All you can hear is the birds chirping... it's a luxurious environment. They took care of the pick-up, meals, sightseeing plans, and everything else It was a relaxing 4 days as if we had become family. Where you travel is an important factor, but I feel that interacting with people is the real joy of traveling, and this inn makes me feel that way. Morioka has become a lot more familiar.Next, I will visit in a different season.

Yumi and Brad have turned a tired hotel into a great little place that offers Western style service while maintaining the charm of small mountain village family inn. Room was Japanese style with a big queen size bed. Could easily sleep 5 people making the value very good. Breakfast was simple but filling. Great little bar downstairs with live music 3 nights a week. The best part of Yumi's place is the location. Right smack in the center of town. Not a lot to do, but it's a great place for a few days. Oh. And the skiing is world class! Just a short walk to the people mover and the hill is yours. Hit the hot spring baths around town after a ski and you will know why Japan is so magical! I'll be back!

This is the second year in a row that we've stayed with Rika and Greg. We came back because we knew it would be a wonderful weekend. Location is very close to Ishiuchi ski resort and a short drive from Echigo Yazawa station. There's a really nice onsen just down the street from the house. Rika/Greg have great recommendations for delicious restaurants nearby. The house fits two large groups comfortably with a big common area, nice kitchen, drying room, and a bathroom facility that works well for large groups. To me, that's all I can hope for in an Airbnb. What makes this place the best in Japan is Greg and Rika. They make you feel like family. Always good recommendations, always good stories, and always happy to help. Really looking forward to continuing our annual Ishiuchi tradition and see Rika and Greg next year.

Seong Mi and Yoshi are the best ! They really take care of their hostel as well as their hosts. They gave me plenty of recommendations and advices. They also made sure I had everything I needed. I felt very welcoming here ! The room is perfect for a stay in Yudanaka. Their partnerships with Onsens around are a great way to enjoy different baths. In my opinion, it's even better than having their own Onsen inside the hostel. All the shared spaces are clean and well furnished. It's the perfect place to enjoy a traditional woodhouse. The location is also great, close by foot to the convenience store, drugstore, local restaurants and to the train station / bus hub. It makes it easy to go to any major spot in the area, from Nagano city center to the hiking trails / ski centers of Shiga Kogen. Just book it here and enjoy a peaceful time in Yudanaka 🙏

One of the best places I've stayed, so peaceful and gorgeous and lovely in the shoulder season of may. Wako was generous in helping as needed and her breakfast was fantastic! The private onsen was just what we needed after hiking. All in all a mountain gem!
