Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Tohoku Region

One of the best places I've stayed, so peaceful and gorgeous and lovely in the shoulder season of may. Wako was generous in helping as needed and her breakfast was fantastic! The private onsen was just what we needed after hiking. All in all a mountain gem!

The place is near Togatta Onsen town, where they have street performance festivals on some weekends. The onsen was great and if you want to head to Fox Village, you can take the bus to Shiroishi, and from Shiroishi to the village.

Good value for breakfast There is a hot spring (Cautionary point) Access is good if you have a car, but it is quite far from the bus stop. There is no supermarket nearby where you can get groceries.It's a good idea to buy it first Because it is close to the forest, insects may come out.Be careful if you don't like insects (Updos) I rented a car this time, so I was able to use it very comfortably. The host was kind and I had a comfortable stay I definitely want to use it again!

This was such a wonderful find on Airbnb. Yoshinobu san helped explain all the details and arranged the details. It is a ryokan in the hills above the town of Rikuzentakata. From the moment you arrive the staff will make you feel right at home. The rooms are clean and big with beautiful views of the surrounding greenery. We had western style rooms. We stayed for two nights and had four amazing meals. Make sure to reserve the special breakfast and dinner sets at least once: Traditional Japanese dishes with very fresh ingredients. After dinner each night we loved going to the onsen and having a soak. It’s open until 10 pm. There’s also a relaxing lounge which is also home to two well behaved cats Momiji and Sakura! You can get there by Shinkansen to Ichinoseki station. You can continue by train/bus and get picked up but we rented a car from Times at Ichinoseki Station (recommended). There are many things to see : Hiraizumi, Michinoku Coastal Trail, Iwate Tsunami Memorial Museum.

The room was clean and the bed was fluffy. It was a very good place to stay. It seems that the family also enjoyed talking with Kohei. It was a shame that I couldn't see the surrounding scenery because it was raining, but next time I want to go when it's sunny. Thanks for your hospitality this time. Thank you very much.

We had a very pleasant stay with Yakuso. The host was extremely friendly and accommodating towards our ignorance when it came to Japanese food. The accommodation is simple, but has everything you need, similar to a Ryokan, yet more simple. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a Japanese experience.

Very hospitable host, very delicious meals, very nice scenery.

This is the second year in a row that we've stayed with Rika and Greg. We came back because we knew it would be a wonderful weekend. Location is very close to Ishiuchi ski resort and a short drive from Echigo Yazawa station. There's a really nice onsen just down the street from the house. Rika/Greg have great recommendations for delicious restaurants nearby. The house fits two large groups comfortably with a big common area, nice kitchen, drying room, and a bathroom facility that works well for large groups. To me, that's all I can hope for in an Airbnb. What makes this place the best in Japan is Greg and Rika. They make you feel like family. Always good recommendations, always good stories, and always happy to help. Really looking forward to continuing our annual Ishiuchi tradition and see Rika and Greg next year.

Friendly host, cozy room. But the restroom is quite small.
