Bel View Guest House Haputale Sri Lanka

LisaRating, 5 stars83 months ago
Very warm welcome in this guest house. The view is beautiful and the food is good. The rooms are very large and the beds too. The building is an old one and is very charming. The bathroom are simple but clean with hot water. Over all, the owner is very very friendly and gave us plenty of advice to discover the region. The lipton’s Seat is a pure beauty, one of our best walk in Sri Lanka with magical landscapes.
A sweeping view of rolling hills and lush greenery is captured, with small clusters of houses visible in the distance. A winding road curves along the foreground, enhancing the sense of depth in the landscape and inviting exploration of the serene surroundings.

Paddy House Villa

Paddy House Villa in Ranna is a sort of unique place in the deep south of Sri Lanka. Its location facing a paddy land deserves 5 out of 5. Even during the hot times of the year one can expect cool breeze blowing across the first floor flat. If you need to experience better breeze you can climb up to the roof top, especially in the morning and evening. There's a lot to recommend about the design of the flat by Suresh and his wife. Kitchenette has almost everything needed for a short stay (or even a very long stay). Large front room combines a lobby with comfy sofa and a round table with chairs and a king size bed with back -friendly firm mattress. There's a bunk bed by the side. The other room has a comfortable double bed. The balcony facing the paddy land connects with both rooms through separate doors. Kitchenette is tucked between the two rooms. Shared, spacious bathroom has two doors so that it can be used by occupants of both rooms. The arrangement of the flat makes it supremely suitable for families with up to 6 members. The property is not far from all the attractions in the region. Rekawa beach famous for turtle watching is about 6 km, Ussangoda national park and Kalmetiya lagoon known to birders are about 20 km each from Paddy House villa. Botanical gardens and the open zoo are also within reasonably short distance. The owner Suresh is a very helpful person. His family makes wonderful neighbors! He has plans to expand by adding another flat in front of the existing one, near the entrance to the property. Let me conclude by stating that it's one of the best places to stay in Ranna area if your group is the right size. It's great value for money too.
A sweeping view of lush green hills stretches across the landscape, dotted with scattered villages and winding roads. The mountain horizon can be seen in the distance, complementing the vibrant foliage below, creating a serene atmosphere in this picturesque setting.

Extraordinary view from the complex, really friendly hosts, nice comfy bed and everything was clean and well maintained. The access road is a little steep with 2 bigger bumps so be prepared for this if you come with your own vehicle. Parking directly at the property. The hosts even offered us a better newer room for the same price which was really convenient for us. I would definitely come here again if in Haputale. Great value for money!
A sweeping view of lush green hills and valleys is displayed, with small villages nestled among the landscape. A winding road curves through the foreground, leading toward the distant mountains under a clear blue sky.

We loved Piyal's place! The hotel itself is an experience - a warren of rooms built into a hillside with really stunning views (ours had a balcony with the best view imaginable). Piyal and his staff couldn't have been nicer, and were very helpful when we wanted an onward taxi and local information. Breakfast was excellent too. Great value for money and great fun, you'll love it.

Luxury Homestay, GlenMyuEstate, Mango Room

We had a wonderful stay with Ru, Mike, their friendly team, and their beautiful dogs. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home with homemade ginger beer and the best coffee we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Our room was spacious and comfy with stunning valley views. The grounds are incredible—lush gardens, a large pool, and rolling hills. Ru gave us a lovely tour of the estate, introducing us to the animals and sharing her knowledge of the plants and spices used in their delicious meals. Her cooking was outstanding—like having a private chef! We also loved the cooking demo with her mum, followed by a Sri Lankan feast. Breakfasts were unforgettable, with fresh local twists and pastries worthy of Paris. Mike and Ru were generous, insightful hosts and helped us explore the area, including Lipton’s Seat, a tea factory, and Diyaluma Falls. Definitely check out GlenMyu’s website for more on food, activities, and the magic of this place.
