Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Thunder Bay

Jesse is the perfect host...very friendly, always smiling and responded to any texts I sent immediately. His home was very easy to find and we were blown away at the amount of cool artwork he had on display and antiques. Not to mention all the movies and games he had for us to watch. We had a little 2 year old girl with us and she loved the room she had to run around. I was worried she was bothering Jesse but he said she wasn't a problem at all! The floors do creak but it adds to the character of the home. I loved Jesse's home and would stay there again! ☆☆☆☆☆

It was nice, quite and short stay. Beautiful place and hoss are respectful and responsive. Looks exactly like photos. Would definitely book it once again if I have to.

We had a very comfortable stay at this property. Marcus was great and check-in was a breeze. It was very clean and uncluttered, with two bedrooms that have really comfortable, soft beds and a fold-out in the spacious living area. It’s worth mentioning that the shower has plenty of water pressure, and there’s a fairly deep tub as well. I noticed that they do allow pets, and there’s a small fenced backyard, which is great since I sometimes travel with a small dog and know it’s not always easy to find a pet-friendly space, especially one that’s kept so clean. The location is probably the most convenient I’ve found in Thunder Bay—close to everything yet on a quiet, walkable, residential street that feels safe. There’s an apartment downstairs, but we heard nothing and seemed to be the only people there. It was stocked with coffee, spices, and anything you’d need to cook, plus a huge TV if you’re into that. I don’t always enjoy trying new Airbnb places, but we were pleasantly surprised.

My business partner and I came to Thunder Bay for work and almost booked the Delta — thank goodness we didn’t! We had an absolutely exceptional stay at Frank and Cherie's Urban Retreat. The home is beautifully renovated with soaring 12-foot ceilings, surround sound, and thoughtful touches throughout such as the building's historic Bertucci Grocery sign hanging in the living room. The kitchen is well-stocked, the keyless entry made check-in effortless, and the Bay Algoma location is perfect — just a short walk to great cafés, restaurants and the marina. Frank and Cherie are super friendly and helpful, and as a fellow Airbnb host, I can confidently say this is one of the best AirBnB properties I’ve seen, and I have taken much inspiration from their beautiful home. Highly recommended for both business and leisure stays!

Feels like home away from home. Danielle anticipated our needs and was a step ahead check in and out. Home was clean, neat and organized and had everything we need for our stay. Brand new deck, yard is huge and easy parking. Close to major roads and highway so getting around is easy. Great hostess!!! Will be back again next visit

We enjoyed our stay here! It was definitely cozy…lots of pillows and blankets in the living room. The kitchen is very well stocked. The two little fans in the bedroom were the cherry on top. Bobbie really thought of everything!

Wendy’s Airbnb is in a very convenient location, especially if you’re having to walk at all. Wendy will greet you upon arrival, and I found her to be incredibly friendly and personable-she’s truly great to chat with and was very accommodating throughout my stay. She and her husband reside upstairs which makes for quick and easy communication. Personally I find it valuable when the host is on site as it makes it feel safer, and I’ve had issues at other properties where hosts weren’t present. I’d seen this ad before but hesitated because it’s a basement apartment. Upon checking in, I was pleasantly surprised-it’s much brighter and more welcoming than the ad suggests. The apartment was very clean, the bed is soft and comfortable and coffee pods are provided, which is all I really ask for when staying somewhere.🙂The beautiful little backyard is obviously well-tended, and there’s an area where you can sit out in the sun. This Airbnb feels like a home away from home, and I’d stay again.

It was a nice place and Amy was very well organized, clear and made it very easy to find the place, where to park, how to check in and check out.

We were made to feel very welcome at Nele and Ivan’s Airbnb and truly enjoyed staying in Thunder Bay. Everything we needed was at hand, with tv, washer and dryer, coffee machine, blankets….all very comforting. Instructions were clear. We visited locations close by such as Boulevard Lake, Hillcrest Park, Goods and Co, and Nook. We’d highly recommend staying here.

We loved everything about Dana's place. The location wasn't too far of a drive from the city but felt like we were in the country. Just a beautiful view! The space is very warm and inviting. Lots of room for us to visit with friends and family. The extras at the house were really appreciated. From condiments in the fridge, everything in the kitchen to cook a meal, dog treats and bags and extra toiletries in the washroom. She didn't miss a thing! Dana was just a message away for anything we needed. We will book again when in Thunder Bay!

This hotel is well located being near restaurants and shops. The hotel has all the amenities I require for my stay. The host was responsive to my needs and I will stay here again.
