The Saddlery Cottage

Beautiful converted cottage in the grounds of an historic Victorian country house in rural Wales. Wood-burning stove, Wi-Fi, stunning views of the Black Mountains. Perfect for walkers, cyclists, garden-lovers, or horse-riders of all ages. Just 450 yards on a private drive through the estate from a barn which sleeps 8 (see 'Eco-Barn in the Brecon Beacons'). Ideal also for larger gatherings. Dogs welcome; a maximum of two permitted. The cottage is located on a 19th century country house estate of about 10 acres of gardens, lawns and woods. There are three bedrooms - a double ensuite on the ground floor, and two upstairs bedrooms (two doubles, one can be made up as twin beds) that share a large bathroom. A double-height kitchen and an open plan living/dining area with a banquette, a woodburning stove, two large comfy sofas and fabulous views. One side of the cottage looks onto a cobbled stable yard, and the other onto its own garden, then beyond that parkland, Llangorse Lake and the Black Mountains. Fabulous restaurants and farm shops are within a short drive as well as the lake, with boating facilities, beautiful walks out of your front door, and great biking trails. An all-around perfect location for a peaceful holiday in rural Wales. The cottage has its own entrance and parking, also its own garden with a table and chairs. Guests are welcome to explore the grounds of Treberfydd House, and are free to bring up to two pets. My husband and I and our family live a couple of minutes' walk from the Saddlery, and are available to help with any questions guests may have. Completely rural idyll - Perfect for those who want to escape the city and drink in the joys of the countryside. You would need a car to get around. Wellies are recommended, and good walking gear advisable for the hills. Booking is normally for a minimum of three nights. Between November and and March we offer a special rate for a Friday + Saturday booking with a late checkout of 4.30pm on Sunday. Please contact us for details. Golwg y Gamlas (Canal View)

Set in the centre of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this canal side spacious property (with en-suite) is set back from the road and offers tranquility. Spacious one bedroom cottage, barn conversion. Called Bumble Bee cottage because of all the bumble bees in the flower garden and wild flowers. In a woodland setting one and a half miles from Llangorse and three miles from Talgarth. On a farm with sheep and horses, within the Brecon Beacons National Park and dark sky reserve. Underfloor heating, wood burning stove, king size bed and double bath with shower. It has a few steps inside and out. Well behaved dogs welcome upon request.
