Your Nest in the Woods Treehouse

LoriRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a great time at the tree house! Theresa thought of everything you could need. We came to fish & we were a little surprised by the high water levels of Fish Creek, but found great spots within a few minutes drive. We loved the fire pit & grill & used them every night. We did venture out for dinner one night & used Theresa’s book of recommendations. We went to Gone coastal which was only a 9 min drive and it was delicious! We can’t wait to go back! Thank you for our wonderful stay!

Just Stepping Out

KarenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Great stay. Place was comfortable and was as shown in pictures. Kitchen seemed well appointed although we did not cook much. Lots of towels and linens Driveway is pretty tight so def two cars max. My friends either parked in a lot close by on the Main Street. Easy walk. 1/2 block. This place has a great location. Although not on the beach, it’s an easy walk. In fact, you can walk to just about anyplace in minutes. Also had a cute little fenced in yard with a gas grill and small fire pit. We were unable to use as we had a lot of rain. Today is nice but had to leave! Lolol Extra chairs in the shed.
A spacious backyard is illuminated by string lights overhead, creating a warm ambiance. A black grill is positioned in the foreground on a paved surface, while a fire pit and seating area are visible. Lush greenery and flowering plants enhance the outdoor space.

My children and I loved staying at Carol’s place! It was perfectly cozy (especially that back sunroom), had everything we needed, and was just what we needed for 2 nights.
A fire pit sits at the center of the image, surrounded by two Adirondack chairs. Two individuals relax nearby, enjoying beverages. The backdrop features a gray wooden fence and a green slide, indicating a kid-friendly outdoor space.

The Lakeside at Sylvan | Steps to Lake | Hot Tub

EmilyRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Our stay at Sylvan Beach was absolutely perfect, thanks to an incredible host who truly thought of every detail. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely taken care of – the place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything we could possibly need (and things we didn’t even know we’d need!). Beach towels, air fryer, pool table, workout equipment, and board games for rainy afternoons – nothing was overlooked. It’s clear the host genuinely cares about their guests’ comfort and went above and beyond to make the stay special. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again – highly recommended!

Your guide to Sylvan Beach

All About Sylvan Beach

The resort community of Sylvan Beach is built along the eastern shore of Oneida Lake where the lake meets the Erie Canal. Although it is known for its outdoor and beach activities, Sylvan Beach is also a lively spot for entertainment. Stroll along the shore to check out the restored Verona Beach Lighthouse, browse the souvenir shops along the water, or take in a free concert at the Sylvan Beach Bandstand. During the warmer months, you can spend the day catching some rays on the sandy beach or swimming or boating on the water. The lake is a popular fishing spot to try your hand at catching walleye, bass, and sturgeon. Play a round of golf at one of the nearby courses, and end the evening at one of the waterfront restaurants, many of which offer live music.

Just five minutes from town is Verona Beach State Park, home to lakefront paths, cattail marshes, and hardwood swamps. As you explore the 1,700-acre park, you might spot deer, beavers, or foxes. In the winter, the trails are open to snowshoers and cross-country skiers, and you can go ice fishing on the lake.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Sylvan Beach

This corner of Upstate New York has a cold and temperate climate, with a fair amount of rainfall throughout the year. Book your Sylvan Beach rentals in the summer months for the warmest days and festivities such as Pirate’s Weekend in July, when you can dress in pirate gear, enjoy a beach treasure hunt, and watch the boat parade. Fireworks and free concerts are regular events throughout the summer.

The weather starts to cool down in September, but that doesn’t mean the town goes quiet. The local amusement park hosts Halloweekends throughout October. The winter months see extremely cold temperatures and plenty of snow. It may be too chilly for a walk on the beach, but the lake and its surrounding area offer many opportunities for ice skating, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Over the past few decades, the Verona Beach Lighthouse Association has cleaned up this landmark and landscaped the surrounding area. Take a stroll along the beach to appreciate this piece of the area’s past.

There is plenty to see here, from a life-size dinosaur exhibit to planetarium shows and a space dedicated to building with blocks and bricks.

Fort Stanwix National Monument

Fort Stanwix, 25 minutes from Sylvan Beach in Rome, played an important role in the American Revolution, when American troops successfully defended the site against the British.
