Staying at this incredible wooden cottage on Koggala Lake was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel incredibly welcome and at home — their warmth and hospitality truly set the tone for the entire stay. A special shoutout to Yohan, whose help and attentiveness were simply amazing and made everything even more seamless. The cottage itself is beautifully constructed, giving off a fantastic homely vibe with stunning views of the lake. The team even torched the gardens for us in the evening, creating a magical, serene atmosphere. The pool was always clean, inviting, and accessible — a perfect spot to unwind whenever we wanted. All our basic needs were thoughtfully and thoroughly taken care of, making the entire experience completely stress-free. If you’re looking for a perfect blend of comfort, nature, and genuine hospitality, this place is an absolute gem. Can’t recommend it enough!

Sahan’s beautiful airbnb is a little gem in Weligama. I would 100% recommend. He greeted us at check in and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The place itself and the pool especially are absolutely gorgeous! The perfect location for a little retreat. Thanks Sahan!

This place is a true nature lover’s delight, the very definition of a beach house. Nestled among mature trees and lush tropical flora, the property feels like a private sanctuary designed for slow, intentional living. It’s clear the experience has been carefully curated to complement the natural surroundings. Set near a quiet, secluded beach, it’s perfect for early morning walks with the sound of waves crashing reaching the bedrooms. The interior is equally charming - tastefully furnished with pieces collected from the owner’s travels, giving the home a personal, lived-in feel. I especially enjoyed the collection of thoughtfully chosen coffee table books. One on Geoffrey Bawa inspired me to explore his architectural legacy in Colombo, an unexpected and enriching highlight of the trip. The plunge pool is a welcome retreat after a hot day out, offering the perfect place to unwind. Having a car made it easy to explore the area, which is rich in dining options, beaches, and parks.

Thank you to Shafeena, Sahal and the team at Buona Vista Heights for providing one of the best holiday experiences we’ve ever had. The property, staff, surroundings far exceeded our expectations. The food was exceptional - we ate out a couple of times but quickly realised that the best food was cooked by Sahal and his team at home. We experienced delicious Sri Lankan cuisine including chilli fresh crab. Communication was excellent from the moment i booked the property which was very re-assuring having never visited Sri Lanka. All our excursions were arranged through Sahal, including a day trip to Yala National park - this made it so easy for us to make the most of our time in Sri Lanka. The property is so peaceful and a sanctuary but only a short tuk tuk trip to the hustle of Unawatuna shops, bars, restaurants and beach. We were a group of friends travelling from Australia, Uk and Dubai and we have all agreed that we will return. Thanks again to all at Buona Vista

Our group of friends had an unforgettable 5-day stay at Villa Elise. The villa is in a peaceful beachfront location — perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. One of the highlights was the beautiful swimming pool, which was clean and inviting at all hours — we loved having the option for a swim any time of day or night. The villa itself is modern, spacious, and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Celine and her team were warm, helpful, and always available when we needed anything. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, and we chose to have the in-house Chef prepare our dinners — every dish was excellent. A special highlight was the BBQ dinner, which was perfectly arranged and made for a great evening together. Villa Elise was everything we hoped for and more. It’s the perfect place for a group getaway, and we’re looking forward to return!

Anjalee's villa was spectacular, well thought out and immaculate. The landscaping was surreal! The villa came with very kind and attentive staff members and the adorable Mari the dog. Highly recommended and one of the best Airbnb's I have stayed in, without a doubt!

We booked to nights in Deepika’s beach cabanas. A wonderful place where sea turtles swim right outside your window. Unfortunately we ended up staying only one night. Not due to anything wrong with the cabana it was as described. But we were travelling with a 2 year old child and underestimated the heat without an aircon and the loud sounds of the waves crashing in during the night. Deepika was very helpful and helped arrange a transfer from our previous hotel so we could find et easily and check in went smooth.

We had a lovely stay at the villa. While located on a busy street, the villa is quite peaceful with wonderful views of the ocean. Out front there are shops and restaurants easily accessible by foot or tuk tuk, which was quite convenient. Outback there is a lovely beach, though it was severely eroded at our time of visit (due to the monsoon season). Irrespective, we enjoyed being able to stroll and explore and visit the turtle hatchery directly next door. The villa itself is well appointed with much of what one would need. The pool was lovely and the bedrooms, enormous bathrooms, and AC made for a comfortable stay. All that said, the thing that made the villa was the lovely staff. They made us feel welcome, offered wonderful suggestions and arranged some excursions for us, and really elevated our stay.
