Watch and pet our friendly animals from the cottage and experience some of the best star gazing in New Zealand from our beautiful hot tub. During your stay we offer a free animal tour of 1 hour, whereby you will visit some of our friendly animals incl bottle feeding our pet lambs (Aug-Dec), an Alpaca walk 🦙, and our friendly horses, cats, dogs and chickens 🥰

Situated on the Inland scenic route [High way 72] and only a short drive to Mount Hutt ski field and the Ashburton Lakes /Lord of the Rings country.For a longer drive Geraldine is only 30 minutes away and the Gateway to the beautiful Southern Lakes . The cottage accomodation is totally private set in a beautiful garden setting in the grounds of the historic school house built in 1876. 20 minutes to Methven and 1 hour to Christchurch international Airport. Not suitable for infants/children.

Enjoy the comfort of a king size bed with luxury linen, looking directly through to the lake and mountains beyond. In the bathroom, relax in our freestanding bath or enjoy a rain shower for two. Take in unobstructed views of the lake and mountains from your lounge room by day, and cosy up on the couch or wool beanbag for a movie at night. This is paradise.

The Double Tree Cottage is in an idyllic setting with expansive snow-capped mountain and farm views (seasonal). Mt Hutt Skifield, Opuke Hot Pools, Staveley Iceskating rink, DOC walking tracks and Methven Mt Hutt Village are all within a 15min drive. Located on our 32ha farm, watch sheep grazing metres from your door, native Kereru playing in the trees above you, or head out to many surrounding activities. Note: This is a mini studio style cottage so is very small and priced accordingly.

The Birds Nest is a secluded and boutique cabin nestled amongst the tree tops and away from other houses. We are close to conservation parks, local walking tracks including the Sharplins fall track , Staveley Ice skating rink and Mt Hutt ski field. Methven is just 15 minutes drive. Ideal for couples, trampers, adventurers, and families. Families with toddlers need to be aware that a small creek runs through the property.
