The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

What a wonderful experience! Rebecca was an absolutely outstanding host, always quick to respond and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. My family and I had such a peaceful stay. The home and location were incredibly tranquil, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The house and property were absolutely beautiful, and we loved sipping our morning coffee on the amazing balconies with the breathtaking views. There is so much space, and every room in the house is well thought out, functional, and cozy. The pool is even better than we hoped, so big and clean and in immaculate condition. We spent most of our time swimming and relaxing by the pool. We also enjoyed playing pool and having so many rooms to gather in with the comfort of plenty of new comfy furniture. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind for a vacation away from all the noise and chaos of daily life. Every single area was as described in the listing and better. Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

I live 10 minutes from Stacy's beautiful property and needed somewhere to stay urgently when the pipes got a leak under my house and flooded inside our home. Upon arriving at Stacy's home, her husband Robert greeted me and let me know where everything was and how it worked. I had my children with me and he helped me carry all their things inside which I was so grateful for. Stacy and Robert were incredibly generous when repairs took longer than expected and we had to book two more nights last minute. My children and I felt so peaceful and at home. We enjoyed playing in their big beautiful yard and listening to the peepers and bull frogs at night time. I had to work during our stay and this wasn't a vacation, but as a local, I 15/10 recommend staying at Stacy and Roberts beautiful home. It is cozy, clean, and comfortable. I can say it was hard for us to leave and say goodbye. Thank you Stacy for being so helpful and compassionate during our stay!

If you are thinking about booking this place, do not wait, you will not regret it! This house made me and my group feel so at home in Maine to the point that we were all dreading going home and wished we had booked a longer stay. You will have to do a bit of driving but everything around this quaint home is beautiful it’s certainly worth the traveling. We had everything we needed and more for an awesome vacation. The pictures do not do justice to how large this space is, perfect for everyone to be able to spread out and do their own thing but also hang out together in different rooms and play games, have a meal, cook, or just relax. I definitely plan to return to Maine soon, and can’t imagine staying anywhere else!

Highly recommend! The place was beautiful and exactly how we saw it in the pictures! We were able to get in easily and felt right at home. Nicole and Cara were helpful and quickly responded to any question we had.

This was hands-down the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in. It was clean, and Tom was incredibly helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. The scenery was absolutely stunning and we could not have asked for a better stay. If we're ever in Maine again, you can bet we'll be back here to stay!

We were struck by the beauty of the place from our first step into the Boat House! It was beautiful inside and out! We soaked in all the beauty by stargazing at night in the adirondack chairs, and catching the sunrise each morning! We loved the sound of the water lapping against the rocks, and the distant sounds of the lobster boats heading out to sea! We loved how close it was to the Schoodic Peninsula for hiking, biking, and enjoying the crashing waves at Schoodic Point, and it was a beautiful scenic drive to get to Acadia National Park on the Bar Harbor side! It is also so close to the hiking up by Donnell Pond. We couldn't get enough of the place and will surely be back!

Bendigo and Jenni were great hosts from the start. They communicated before we arrived and checked in with us regularly throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Their house is beautiful and looks just like the photos. Every room was meticulously clean and so lovely. The location is very private and peaceful. After a day of hiking and sightseeing it felt like coming home each evening. We would definitely book again with Bendigo and Jenni on our future trips to MDI.

Awesome location for the Gouldsboro/Winterharbor area. Plenty of room inside with all the creature comforts and wonderful area outside. Pickled wrinkle right in walking distance along with ice cream right next door. Would stay here again.

This house was amazing—hosts really have thought of everything when it comes to guest experience! Kayaking out to the tiny islands in the bay a couple times allowed us to see horseshoe crabs and bald eagles up close. The fire pit was great and the “s’mores station” with supplies in the kitchen upon arrival was so cute and thoughtful. Our three kids loved this place and didn’t want to leave at the end of the week. Our boys especially loved the lower level game room with ping-pong, arcade games, and pop-a-shot. The kids also loved reading on the sofa in the upstairs loft overlooking the kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked dinner there a couple times during the week. The hosts gave great local recommendations as well—the craft beer at Fogtown Brewing in Ellsworth (less than 15-min. drive) is excellent, and it is very kid-friendly with a large outdoor eating area and wood-fired pizza. We’d love to return to this house! Mosquitoes are fierce so bring bug repellent.

Beautiful place with everything you need for a low key getaway. Not a bad drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia but with better peace and quiet in the mornings and evenings! Definitely would recommend

This was a beautiful place to enjoy a relaxing and tranquil vacation. Elizabeth was very attentive and helpful when there were questions and answered promptly. There was lots to do in the area with beautiful surroundings.

This house was fabulous. The location was private and peaceful. We had deer walk through the yard one night while grilling on the deck. The two rear decks and all 3 bedrooms all had waterfront views. The lawn was well maintained so the kids enjoyed having space to run and play after our long days. The house was so clean. The check out process was so easy and clear. They had a trash barrel on site, so we didn't have to take our trash with us which was as huge perk since we had a 5-hour drive home and didn't want to lug stinky trash lol. The house was so peaceful and beautiful. The Jacuzzi tub was so nice after a long day. The large TV in the living room made for a fun movie night with the family. It was close to restaurants and things to do in Ellsworth and 5 minutes to the state park beach. Check in was super easy and the host was extremely responsive.

Best Airbnb experience we’ve ever had! Wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else when visiting the area. Perfect location, wonderful place, and extremely accommodating host. A hidden gem in Bar Harbor.

This is a beautiful home located in the woods on a bay! If you don't mind being away from towns and crowds, this is the place. The location was relaxing and the views are spectacular. The kitchen is well appointed for cooking. We packed picnic lunches and took off each day to explore Acadia National Park. We came home each night and cooked dinners. The grill was clean and ready to use. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the house. We would definitely love to come back in the future.

We loved our three nights at Seabank. The house was comfortable and immaculate, the kitchen well equipped, and the location—overlooking tidal Goose Bay with views toward Mount Desert Island—could not have been more tranquil (plus an easy 20-minute drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor). Robard was a terrific host, quick to answer our questions, and even lending a hand to ensure that we were able to check in early. We lucked into gorgeous weather and spent lots of time outdoors, reading on the deck, kayaking in the bay at high tide, and relaxing around the fire pit.

We had a wonderful stay. Melissa and Andrew’s place is fantastic! It was very cozy, clean, and a convenient base for Bar Harbor adventures.

We came into this area for a trip to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The house was 45 minute drive but was very rural and did not bother us. The house sits on a beautiful peaceful bay and the view is exquisite!! We could not have asked for anything better! Lydia offered recommendations and helped with any question we had. Home had everything you could think of or need. Played scrabble nightly at the dining room table! We would recommend this house very highly
