Mattias was an amazing host, he catered to my every needs and also gave me regular updates on weather conditions. He also gave me supermarket recommendations which were on the way from the airport, which was very helpful.

We had a lovely time staying here! GORGEOUS location and so peaceful. Felt right at home here, it was truly a beautiful stay.

This is a cute cabin with modern amenities, ideally situated for exploring surrounding areas and relaxing in place. We loved the comfy beds and coffee machine and peaceful community.

We absolutely loved this house. It is so cozy and charming, and the scenery is gorgeous. It doesn't feel like a rental, it feels like a home. Gudrun Maria really pays attention to the details that make your stay comfortable.

We had such a great time, the cabin exceeded expectations in every way! Lilja was very responsive and helpful for any questions we had. The most beautiful surroundings and so peaceful! We enjoyed the hot tub, dart board and pool table. We even got to see the auroras on 2 separate nights which was a real highlight! The kitchen is small with a small over, this didn’t matter for us but could be useful to know if you were not planning to go out much. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this cabin!!

Perfect little place for a nights stop, all the amenities were great with the hot tub, kitchen and bathroom and showers. Also full of character with the troll stroll and added little extras everywhere. His books are also great and the best price, he even signed the book for my nephew!

alaxander place was very nice and beautiful surroundings to let go only from the stress of the city and relax if you have a distance or kids much for them to make a pot of trampolines and many more measures alaxander replied mjog ou fljott and was ajogy and hjalpsamur

Very attractive and comfortable cabin in a beautiful area which feels entirely private despite being only an hour from Reykjavik. Great base for hiking or sightseeing. We had five days here and felt we only scratched the surface of what the area has to offer. Cabin is very well and thoughtfully equipped. Matthias was a great host and offered fantastic recommendations of things to do and see. No hesitation at all in recommending.

Tumi was extremely helpful the entire experience, offering more than what was even offered on the listing. We seriously appreciate all the effort that was made to make our last day in Iceland as easy and stress free as possible. If I had to say one thing, it is that the location of this rental is a bit confusing to get to. Offering slightly better instructions would be extremely helpful, but overall was a perfect distance from the airport and offered everything needed for an affordable stay - plus a hot tub!

My family and I thorough enjoyed our stay! After a long day of travel the hot tub and peaceful surroundings were just what was needed! The location was within easy driving distance to many local attractions and to the city for any supplies needed. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful stay just outside the capital.

This is a lovely, cosy away from it all cottage. The drive along the whale fjord to get there is just stunning, one night we stopped the car to enjoy the northern lights. There are numerous lakes and waterfalls nearby too. The cottage is warm, cute & friendly, calming interior-the fire place adds to the feeling of relaxation, the two bedrooms are very comfortable. The couch/ fire/ view combination is fabulous. The host supplied plenty of linen, towels and other basics, very much appreciated considering how expensive Iceland is to visit.

If you're looking for a well-equipped place to stay in a quiet place with plenty of privacy and beautiful nature, this meets everything. We felt very comfortable at Guðbjörg's place and took a lot of interesting trips to beautiful places. We highly recommend. Complete satisfaction on our part. Thank you very much.

Beautiful location, amazing salt water hot tub overlooking stunning landscape.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay on this horse farm; the cabin was comfortable, clean, and we were very pleased that the kitchenette was adequately equipped for us to prepare and enjoy more complex dinners. This property was our last reservation after completing the Ring Road tour in perfect sunny, dry weather for May, so we were ready to sit on the sunny porch, or chill with the horses for entertainment when the wind and rain showed up. The location is perfect as a base for day trips. I do suggest that at this time of year come prepared with a sleeping mask as it never really gets dark.

Birgir's cabin is very snug & warm -- festive with bright red lights -- everything in its nook -- and an amazing perch to see across the valley & short drive to the fjord. Our trip was at the end of December and most days/nights were snowy & with some rain -- very beautiful, but definitely take heed of Birgir's cautions about driving in such weather (which held true, even as we had rented a 4-wheel drive Jeep!) -- it is a steep hill up to the cabin, and we did get stuck on our 2nd to last day -- but fortunately the neighbors in the house down the way were incredibly helpful & we got the car out! We enjoyed exploring Akranes & Borganes. We also did see the northern lights on the one clear night -- beautiful to see the green shimmering curtain of light above the steppes/mountains across the valley. Birgir was both proactive and very responsive.

This place is truly a hidden gem — incredibly cozy and peaceful, surrounded by stunning nature in every direction. The views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is calm, quiet, and deeply relaxing. The cabin is warm and beautifully designed, with a perfect balance of comfort and simplicity. It’s an ideal escape from the noise of everyday life. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Really comfortable cabin in an exceptional location with fantastic view. If you enjoy Scandinavian style comfort and solitude in a scenic lakeside setting then this is the place. Everything was as described, very easy to find with the precise satnav directions from the hosts. The sauna, hot tub and decking chairs overlooking the lake are a real plus. Ivar was a responsive host. Nearest town for shops and restaurants is approx 25 min drive. Be aware that the wooden steps leading down to the cabin from the parking place are quite steep and with no handrail.

We had a wonderful stay, the cabin was lovely and the location was absolutely beautiful! Thor and Ryan were incredibly friendly and responsive hosts who made everything a breeze. Highly recommend!
