If you are looking for your own private oasis in the golden circle, look no further. Gorgeous surroundings, and not a neighbor in site. Just you and horses. Very close to the amazing Friðheimar restaurant. Hosts were very receptive and extremely helpful. It is not a luxury rental, but the landscape, location, and serenity of the place makes it a worthwhile base camp. Would not hesitate to recommend it on your trip to iceland with a good sized party. There were nine of us, and there was plenty of space for us all.

Very good communication with the lovely and very understanding hosts, they very helpful Tipps for the area. The cottage is far out in the country and really quiet, we loved the hot tub and we felt like at home right from the beginning on. It’s located on the golden circle and a perfect point to explore. Very good equipped amenities. We were really lucky to see wonderful dancing northern lights from the cottage and a really 360* view from the field on the way there with an open view in the beautiful landscape. We would suggest to get a SUV and 4x4 to get there since this was the only problem we had to get there and away after the snow storm.

Wir waren 10 Tage in dem schönen Ferienhaus und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist sehr gut ausgestattet und ein besonderes Highlight ist der Hotpod und der Coldpod und die Außendusche:-)

Beautiful little cottage in a fairly remote part of Iceland. We really enjoyed the scenery and the separation of the cottage from the hotel. You have all the options, completely separate from the hotel, all by yourself or you can also talk to the hotel staff and they will offer you breakfast and everything for a fair price. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay I can only recommend

Excellently located for short drive to most key attractions within the golden circle. Very quiet and away from the main towns so perfect for seeing the northern lights. Spacious modern house with everything we need. Dóróthea and Baldur were perfect hosts and very responsive. We must come back here!

The most beautiful stunning place we have stayed at! To have a river and waterfalls in the back of the house was magical! The house was perfect and we loved the decor! I can’t recommend Mehrejar stunning place enough! He was the best host! Will definitely stay there again! Linda

We had a 6 night stay with our family of 7 adults and everyone agreed that the space was ideal. We wanted something remote but still convenient and this was a great location for us. Heida and Axel were very responsive and helped whenever we had questions. There were some challenges with the local area water supply during our stay and we felt that we were very well taken care of, despite the situation that seemed to be out of Heida and Axel’s control. We would definitely go back if we have another opportunity to travel to Iceland.

Stunning view. A classic A-frame cabin. Soooo quiet and peaceful. Peaceful. Easy to walk to the restaurant and if you choose, walk to the little communities nearby, including farms and the local church. It's a cabin in the golden circle. Don't be a jerk. Appreciate. We are all lucky to experience this. And if you ask a question, Jake ANSWERS you almost immediately. But really... the porch overlooking the valley... and the AMAZING outdoor shower with hot water from the local geothermal station. SHUT UP if you don't appreciate how special this is. Therapeutic. Ahhhhhhhh. We stayed up late and saw the northern lights. Doesn't get better for peace and authentic. Thanks Jake!!!! 😁

Our stay at the cottage was AB-SO-LU-TE heaven! The cottage is very conveniently located (just about a mile from Geysir Center and a mere 10 minute drive to Gullfoss waterfall). It boasts everything we could possibly wish for (O.K., we never switched on the huge T.V. set, but we used the Spotify/internet radio combo to listen to some music plus the internet connection seems to be pretty high speed!). The kitchen is extremely well equipped with every possible tool and machine (barista-style coffee machine, blender, waffle iron, water cooker, BBQ, toaster, etc.). The pictures here on AirBnB are very accurate to what one can expect at the cottage. Even though it was freezing cold and windy outside we got soaked in the nice jacuzzi outside and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The newly installed rain shower in the bathroom was also very cool - and for those who stay longer there is even a brand new washing machine available. The beds are out of this world. We all slept like babies. Too bad we could not take the mattresses back home ;-) Communication with Páll was very, very easy. He was always available (and he even inquired if everything is fine after the big snowstorm that hit Iceland during our stay), communicating with him was a pleasure. Plus: He was extremely easy-going, flexible and generous when it came to postponing our original reservation due to unforseeable circumstances. All in all: We would give Páll and the cottage 7 stars if that was possible! Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your wonderful place! We'll be back!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La maison est très fonctionnelle et très bien équipée. Le jacuzzi est très appréciable. L’environnement est magnifique et la maison tellement cocoon ! On s’y sent très bien, un vrai havre de paix pour les vacances. En plus de cela, elle est très bien située pour le secteur du cercle d’or. Bien sûr, il vous faudra compter 2h de route pour rejoindre le sud de l’île jusque Vik par exemple. Nous recommandons ++ Merci à notre hôte Thorsteinn qui est très réactif et serviable.

The cabin was a peaceful retreat in Fluðir! Close to Minilik and the mineral baths, with a well equipped kitchen. We had one small issue with check-in (our fault), and Asa very quickly helped to resolve it.

Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in diesem Haus und haben uns wohl gefühlt. Das Haus hatte für uns eine super Lage, sodass wir unsere Ausflüge wie geplant durchführen konnten. Am Besten haben uns der Ausblick aus dem Wintergarten und der Hot-Pot gefallen. Die Unterkunft bietet alles, was man für den Aufenthalt benötigt.

As an architect, I appreciated the attention to detail of this tiny house. It was private and set in a beautiful place with easy access to the Golden Circle. The host was responsive and very accommodating.

Clean and secluded area 1 hour away from Vik! A great midpoint for travelers going to the glaciers and national park the next day! Would stay again!

Een prachtige plek. De accommodatie heeft alles wat je nodig hebt voor een lang weekend. Locatie en uitzicht is prachtig. Al werd er eerder geschreven dat het huisje in de dal zit zonder uitzicht. Dat klopt niet helemaal. Je ziet de berg niet, maar steeds als je naar buiten kijk ziet het er prachtig uit. Heuvels en een riviertje. Wij zouden het zeker aanraden.

Super nice place. Right on the golden circle, minutes from Geysir, yet very private. You get to listen to the sound of the stream and birds. Inside, the bedrooms are small, but the living room was plenty for five of us.

My boyfriend and I were first time visitors to Iceland and Afternoon Cottages gave us a booklet of great things to do around our Airbnb. The drive to the cottages was absolutely gorgeous. It is very quiet and peaceful. I would come back again!!

Jóna war sehr nett, respektvoll und hilfsbereit. Einen Abend war es sehr kalt in der Unterkunft innert kurzer Zeit hat uns Jóna gleichtags einen Heizkörper vorbeigebracht. Sie war stets erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Die Wohnung war sauber und warm. Ordentlich und Sauber. In der Küche konnte man problemlos kochen. Waren sehe zufrieden können wir nur empfehlen.

We had the most wonderful time at Jona’s place. The house was in such a peaceful and relaxing location — perfect for enjoying the south coast and golden circle. We loved the large windows, and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals. The kids toys were a great bonus!

We had a great stay in this beautiful and spacious home. The jacuzzi was already warm when we arrived and we had a really relaxing stay. We definitely recommend this accommodation!
