Summer paradise by Göta Kanal

Gammalrud is a farm, which is located in the northern part of the peninsula, which goes into Lake Viken and is called Vika forests. Here we conduct forestry and lamb production since 1976. Surrounded by the beautiful forest, lake Viken (the highest point of Göta Kanal) and the hospitality of Thord and Ulla, this is your idyllic home away from home. We have renovated the old farm dairy, "Mejeriet", and made it into a nice home that we rent out to guests. The ground floor consists of a hallway, a kitchen suited for 8 persons and a large living room with a cozy fireplace. The living room floor is made of hand-made bricks from the old brickworks in the nearby village Horn. The upper floor consists of one large room with wooden floor and alcoves for 6 persons. At the old canal landing, we have built a large boathouse. Here is a place, not just for boats, but also for gatherings and parties. If you´d like to go fishing you are more than welcome to rent our small boat to try your luck catching pike, perch or any of the other fish in lake Viken. There is also a sauna in the Boathouse. Gammalrud is a farm dating back to the Middle Ages. A full list of previous owners dates back to 1498. In the 1600s, Gammalrud became a manor when the first corp de logi was built by Thord Jönsson Reuterberg. In the 1800s, Gammalrud became part of the Swedish industrial history by one of the owners, Theodor Winborg, also known as “Ättikskungen” , the founder of Winborg´s vinegar and later by his brother in law, Helge Palmqrantz, an inventor and industrialist with machine factories in Stockholm. Both agricultural tools and weapons were made there. A machine gun, designed by Helge Palmqrantz to be part of the defense on Karlsborgs fortress, can be seen at the fortress museum.

Holidays by the lake Unden

In the middle of West Götalands unspoilt nature with its lakes and forests, near the big lake Vättern, about 5 kilometers from the village of Undenäs and far away from any through traffic, the small country village of Igelstad is located, directly on the lake Unden. The village is a small collection of scattered houses and farms, of which some are permanently inhabited, while others are used as summer cottages. Here, in a large clearing in the forest, the small farm "Nolgården" is situated. The house is a separate, well-equipped classic wooden log house, built in spruce. It was thourougly renovated in 2008. There is a private bathroom, kitchen and private terrace, Internet connection (WLAN) and satellite TV (Astra). A cozy fireplace and electric heating provide comfortable warmth. Directly from the house you can make nice walks in the unspoilt nature, pick berries and mushrooms, or walk to lake Unden, one of the clearest and most pristine lakes in Sweden. From the house to the west side of the peninsula, there is only 800 meters. Here you can have a swim or enjoy the sunset over Unden. The eastern shore can be reached in quarter of an hour via a forest path. By the shore a canoe lies ready for extensive reconnaissance trips to the beautiful deserted islands and quiet bays. But the area has much more to offer: the romantic Tiveden National Park, Lake Viken, Forsvik and the Göta canal with its locks, and the huge lake Vättern are just a few examples of interesting destinations.

Cottage by the lake with hot tub, sauna and sandy beach

This lovely cottage is located a few meters from Lake Vänern and has a sandy beach, wood-fired sauna and a jetty with a wood-fired hot tub for 5 people. Perfect even for winter swimming! The view out over the lake is amazing! The cottage is 42 km v with 2 sleeping lofts, living room with sofa bed, TV, dining area, kitchenette, fridge/freezer, oven with stovetop, dishwasher, toilet, shower and washing machine. Large glass doors can be opened out to the terrace which has a gas grill, outdoor furniture and sun chairs. This is a quiet, nature-laden accommodation 15 km outside Lidköping.

Cozy cottage near National Park

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. Nice lake view from the cottage and about 300 meters to swimming and barbecue area by the lake. Cosy cabin only 10 minutes by car from the famous Tivedens National Park. Amazing view to lake Unden, the largest fresh water lake in Tived. Fantastic to swim in when it's warm in the summer. Amazing sunsets and a very peaceful atmosphere. Romantic. The area straight down from the cabin by the water doesn't belong to the property but welcomes respectful visitors.

Cottage, private beach, boat and sauna near Gränna

Idyllic cottage, 30 sq m, on a private beach, 10 m from the water. Ten minutes from the highway E4 and Gränna. Thirty minutes from Jönköping. One bedroom with a luxury bed for two and one room with a very comfortable foldable bed sofa for two and a kitchen area. Wood stove sauna, bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. The host lives in a house about 50 meters further away from the beach. The kitchen is for simple cooking, using a frying pan is not allowed, but charcoal barbecue is available.

Söker ni en lantlig miljö med fantastiskt utsikt över Vättern? Då har ni hittat rätt! Känner inte till många stugor i Sverige där man kan se tre olika län från en och samma plats. Stugan har det mesta då det kommer till bekvämlighet. Fullutrustat kök, bäddsoffa, dubbelsäng och badrum. Peaceful accommodation close to nature.

At Ängalyckan, you live in your own small cabin in the middle of the wonderful area of Tiveden, close to both Tiveden National Park, beautiful lakes, hiking trails, bike routes and more. The accommodation has two beds and a sofa bed for two. It also features a fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, freezer, etc. In a separate building there is a shower and toilet which are sometimes shared with others.

Adorable guesthouse in a quiet location.

Here you will find peace and relaxation in the middle of nature. Ideal for hiking, cycling as well as looking for berries and mushrooms. In the area [about 30 minutes walk] you will find lakes and natural swimming places. We have alpacas, cats, dogs, geese, chickens and ducks at our farm. Alpaca walks can be booked on site. Eggs can also be purchased depending on the mood of nature.

Beautifully situated cabin by the lake Unden in Tiveden

In this cottage with amazing views of Lake Unden you will have a nice stay. It is about 700 m to the central community. There is Tiveden's grocery store with restaurant section. In the summertime there is also the outdoor restaurant Luripompa. In Tiveden there are many fantastic hiking trails. There are bicycle trails, riding trails and the possibility of very nice paddling.
