Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Shawnee County

I have 5 stars because I’m hoping this host will change things for future guests and because of their handling of the situation. Something for all yo be warned about is there is not a single electrical outlet in the bathroom. So you can’t blow dry or curl your hair and there is no other mirror anywhere else in the house. I reccomended to the host to install a full length mirror in the extra bedroom or add a vanity so women could get ready. The bathtub at the time of my stay was not useable as it had peeling paint and I personally like to soak when I’m out of town for work. There was also a cleanliness issue but the host was willing to fix that when I brought it to her attention. While this is a pet friendly airbnb never expected to walk into a hair covered rug and have hair in the bedding when I went to lay down. The host was willing to remedy this but without a useable bathtub and ability to get ready for work I opted to go somewhere else for the remainder of my month long stay.

We brought a trip of twelve 7th and 8th grade students to Topeka for a school trip, and all twelve kids and five adults fit in this home comfortably. There was room to spread out and keep the two genders separated. The adults all had rooms. The bed that I used was comfortable. The kids liked being able to explore the space and found a pond nearby. We utilized the fire pit and made s'mores, which was also a fun experience with the students. The kitchen was nice to be able to prepare dinner for our group on Friday. We used the oven to cook pizza. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of Topeka with this group. The home is a wonderful old farmhouse with lots of character and is well-kept. the property is also well kept with the hosts being very responsive to inquiries.

The place worked well for our stay in Topeka. Was convenient to what we were doing for the weekend. Great place to stay.

I always stay at Gary's place when I am in Topeka. The location is great for my visit with family and I really like being close to the Shunga Trail. The pool table is also a very nice feature.

Wonderful stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The outdoor area was set up so nicely, with plenty of space and chairs to enjoy visiting with family and just relaxing. The spacious kitchen and living area allowed for plenty of room to spread out. The neighborhood is absolutely gorgeous to walk around the lake and enjoy the great weather we experienced while there. Appreciate Brandie's responsiveness and checking in with us while we were in her home.

Frank was a great host. I was traveling alone and I was totally comfortable there. He has a first class kitchen and nice living room with a TV. The guest room was private and simply furnished. I had everything I needed. Frank has a little dog that is friendly and well behaved. I recommend Frank's place to anyone needing to state in Topeka. The location was great for easy access to town and freeways.

Joy was a fabulous host. He place is beautiful and in a perfect location. I was there for my daughter’s graduation and it was in a perfect location. The patio is beautiful and a great place to relax. I would definitely go back! Thank you!!

Perfect location! Daniel's place was exceptionally clean, exactly as described, and just steps to shops and restaurants. On the Saturday we were there, there was a farmer's market right in the parking lot, which was a great surprise! Highly recommend this condo if you're going to Lawrence!

We enjoyed our stay here in Topeka. This place is very central and just a five minute walk to the downtown scene. It was very clean and welcoming.

We really enjoyed our stay at Megan’s apartment. I think the apartment looked even better in person. The check-in/check-out process was simple and secure. The beds and couch were comfortable and there was plenty of room for 4 of us. Thank you!

I usually don't leave reviews, but in this case I have to. If you're on the fence about booking here, it's time to get off the fence! This place is the perfect getaway for somebody who needs time outside the city with city things within reach. The hosts are truly kind people and do not take those who rent the space from them for granted. If I come back to the area, I will absolutely be back.

Enjoyed our stay at Cindy's Cabin. It was a short drive from Kansas City, the last couple miles are on gravel roads. There was enough room in the driveway to park my truck and jetski. A boat would be too tight to fit. The layout of the cabin is very nice, it spans three levels with a few steps connecting each. There are plenty of comfortable seating options and is nicely decorated. The bathroom is spacious and clean. Really appreciate the large windows that overlook the backyard. We were able to use the gas grill (under a lean to, which provides cover if it rains) and jacuzzi tub (equipped with an assist for the large cover making it easy to take off & on). It's a short walk to the water's edge. The trail is clearly defined, although muddy if rainy. I would recommend this cabin to all.

Sherry was one of the best hosts we have had. She was very quick to respond if we needed anything and was genuinely concerned that we had a wonderful stay. You couldn't ask for a better host. Everything was exactly as described and shown. This was the most well outfitted place we have ever stayed. We cooked our own meals outside on the grill and inside the kitchen, everything we needed or could want was there. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows perfect. The towels were new and soft as could be. If I had to describe the whole thing in a word, it would be quality. It is obvious Sherry has a high standard for herself. I would stay here if I had business in Topeka or Manhattan. It is a short drive to both but the peace and quiet here is worth every mile. It was so quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. We saw deer, turkeys, and a Bald Eagle so yes, you are in the country here but with good internet! We highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful family getaway with 8 of us!!! Much needed lake time, beautiful home with an amazing hot tub and fire pit! Host was great and we will definitely be back!!! 10/10 recommend 🌟

This was a great stay, Aaron & Jessi were very responsive about accommodating two pickup trucks and boats on the property as well as the availability of an outside electrical outlet for charging our boats. The cabin was spectacular, and the property is far enough away from the paved road that it felt secluded. I will defiantly look into staying here again the next time we are in the area.

We came for a quick weekend getaway. The location is very private and peaceful. The cabin was clean and stocked very well with towels and paper goods. We were very comfortable, the A/C works really well. The cabin has all appliances you may need, from kitchen to washer and dryer. The location is very convenient to Emporia and some great restaurants. Also if you choose to cook, they have everything you need. No need to leave if you don’t want to. We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch overlooking the nearby fields and forests. We also enjoyed going for walks nearby too!
