We had a 5-day stay at this rustic cottage in nature. If you're looking for a retreat surrounded by birdsong and greenery, this is the perfect spot. It truly feels like an escape into nature. That said, a car is needed, as the nearest town is a drive away and the last approx. 2 km of road is not smooth. The access to the cottage from the road might not be suitable for everyone—there are steep, winding stairs & uneven surfaces, so it’s something to consider for guests with limited mobility. Jens & Sarah were very good hosts—responsive, thoughtful, and helpful throughout our stay. The Wi-Fi was excellent, making it a great option for remote workers, though the lighting indoors is somewhat dim, so plan accordingly if you need a well-lit space to work. Being immersed in nature also means you may encounter insects or mosquitoes, so come prepared—but that’s part of the experience in such a beautifully natural setting. All in all, a peaceful and authentic getaway in nature.

The house has 2 bedrooms; one with a double bed and the other with two beds. The house also has a playroom for children with a sofa bed. If you decide to bring a car we have 2 exterior spaces available and there is no problem to park outside if your friends come to visit. Great stay at Jess's place. He is extremely helpful and responsive. The accommodation is as described, lots of space and everything you'd need. Lovely quiet area. Beautiful surroundings. We were on a golf trip so for 4 people, each had their own room, and location is amazing. Great supermarkets and wine shops within 5 minutes' drive. Lots of restaurant choices if you want to eat out (would recommend Casabon (fairly high end, very good), and Inboca (high end Tapas I'd say, much more rustic and local feel). Jess organised taxis to get us there. Nothing was too much trouble. Even when our flight was delayed by 4 hours and we didn't arrive until 1am he was very understanding and his assistant was there to let us in and show us around! Golf-wise it is a perfect place to stay, 3 minutes to Valderrama, less than 10 mins to Sotogrande and La Reserva, 20 minutes to Finca. Offstreet parking so you can leave clubs in the car. Highly recommend. If we go to that area again this is where we'd stay.

The house is very clean, the beds and pillows are super comfortable, very cozy, the kitchen is perfect to spend a few days. Miguel was charming, he had the heat programmed so that when we arrived everything was warm, a very thoughtful gesture on his part, very attentive to us and everything was perfect, I recommend it 100%

Diego is one of the best hosts I’ve worked with on Airbnb! He allowed a very flexible check in, he is wonderfully communicative and friendly, and very energetic. His country home is a labor of love, and perfect for a family to stay. Unique experience about 10 minutes outside Setenil de las Bodegas, as he has chickens, turtles, turkeys, and all manner of produce growing. The showers were hot, the beds comfortable, and the kitchens well stocked. Great outdoor spaces for relaxing. The one thing is about the third bedroom/loft; it is a VERY short ceiling, so our third couple (who are on the taller side) preferred to sleep on the sofa bed. Would certainly recommend Diego’s home to anyone and would return.

We had a great time in Ardales. Our highlight was the pool and it looks even better than in the photos. There are eight sunbeds, an outdoor shower and the surroundings are covered in artificial grass. The house had everything that is necessary for a group stay and a lot of beautiful areas to sit and relax. Unfortunately, the lake is not there anymore and the surrounding area is really dry due to a lack of rain. However, there are lakes in the area to do water activities to make up for it and swimming in the pool was our favorite activity anyway. The contact to José was helpful and informative. We would definitely come back.
