Paradise between the olive and orange trees We had an unforgettable time at The Maisonette of The Stone House. It is beautifully nestled among blooming citrus and olive trees – the smell in April was magical. The apartment has been renovated with care and tastefully decorated with decent materials. Anything you need is present, and more than enough. The large terrace offered sun, mountain views and in the evening an impressive starry sky. The location is ideal: quiet, authentic and yet only 15 minutes from Paleochora and beautiful beaches. Emmanouil and his parents are warm, attentive hosts. For our adult children we rented The Suite. Both apartments are equally beautiful, with plenty of privacy. A place full of comfort, tranquility and hospitality. We will definitely come back!

Had a great stay at this beautiful place. The location for when you want to do the hike through the Samaria gorge: a few minutes' drive from the entrance of the park, after returning to the parking lot quickly back to the home base to recover. Also perfect for nature lovers and hikers who want to visit more than the gorge: there are even more hiking trails to explore. Great reception by the host with raki and traditional snacks. Located at a nice altitude, so you can also 'cool off' from the heat at sea level. From the veranda, fantastic views over the plateau of Omalos. Lots of privacy, you only hear the sheep and goats… wonderful house too, with all the comforts!

Absolutely magical! Roula’s stone house is an incredibly picturesque and charming place to stay. The terrace is a dream – shaded naturally by a tree and offering a stunning view of the sunset. The house is beautifully and comfortably furnished, with everything you might need. A little heads-up for tall people: the doorway to the terrace is a bit low – you might want to duck (don’t worry, we laughed every time!). There are some fantastic tavernas just around the corner, and it’s the perfect starting point for scenic hikes through the area. We loved every minute of our stay and would come back in a heartbeat!

We had a lovely stay at Nikos’ place in Rodovani. It’s well off the beaten path and we particularly enjoyed the tranquil setting in a small mountain village on the south coast. Nikos greeted us although we arrived well after midnight. There is a lovely village store right across the town square and good tavernas close by. Plenty of hiking options around and the sea only 15 min away. The house is renovated tastefully and we particularly enjoyed the big terrace overlooking the valley and mountains.
