Stone Cottage in Grounds of a 16th-Century Castle

The cottage sits on the grounds of a castle dating back to 1543 offering an authentic stay. The interior retains a decor that matches the historic charm of the area with modern comforts added and a shared pool in the stunning gardens outside. This is our smallest cottage and cannot take an additional bed or cot. The other cottages are all larger and can do this. All 3 cottages can be rented separately or together. They are in the grounds of a 16th century castle with beautiful gardens and large swimming pool enclosed by stone walls. The lower salon and summer kitchen in the main chateau is available to share. Access is by the side garden gate and all cottages are accessed by stone steps- sadly not suitable for wheelchairs. We will most likely be present living in the main Chateau and available to help and advise about restaurants and things to do in the area. We will share the pool and gardens. The old village is in a beautiful part of France that is has retained its iconic beauty through the centuries and still feels untouched by modern life in many places. Experience true local dining and bakeries with scenic walking trails all around. parking is in the church square below the Chateau. There is a local taxi service in the village and bus service to Avignon, Banyols sur Ceze and Uzes but car hire is recommended. We are 20 minutes from Avignon TGV rail station and about an hour from Marseille, Nimes or Montpellier airports. The cottages are completely private and tranquil.

Maju, an elegant house located in Nyons, in the heart of the Drôme Provençale and just a 10-minute walk from the historic town center, features a welcoming living area with an open, fully equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms (including 2 master suites with 160 cm beds and en-suite bathrooms, and 1 bedroom with 2 90 cm beds and a separate bathroom), and 2 toilets. We thought of this place as a family home: we live on site in a part of the Bastide with our three daughters and we have created 3 independent cottages with kitchens. The cottage is located in the heart of the Baronnies Nature Park, in a village nestled in the hollow of a fantastic valley where lavender, apricots, olives and einkorn wheat are harvested. This valley is a small paradise surrounded by mountains, all offering a view of Mont Ventoux, for nature and sports lovers. The accommodation is adjoining our home. This large building dates back to 1880 and we have carefully renovated it over 5 years.
