Okay, a bit unconventional but one of the best coffee places in Jasper. Hours can be a bit dicey, but if the barista is there-worth the stop!

Take the gondola to the top of Whistlers (named after the whistling rodent) and pack a lunch and hike to the top. Breath taking views of the Collin, Victoria Cross and Maligne Mountain ranges. Can you see our house? It's at the curve of the "J" that is Jasper!

Traveler advice

What to pack

It's all about the layers!

We always say "If you don't like the weather-wait 15 minutes"! The weather can change on a dime and be sunny at 25 Celsius one minute and cloudy and snow or rain the next (even in the summer!). So pack a light waterproof jacket or "puffer coat" as the morning often start in single digits and warm up quickly.
Customs and culture

Watch how you park on street!

If you park on the street (although we provide guest parking) make sure your vehicle is parked in the same direction as the flow of traffic or you will get a $75 ticket from bylaw. I know this is legal elsewhere, but not in Canada.

Hiking tips

Jasper (although in the Athabasca Valley) is at 3200 ft altitude and if you are hiking, the altitude can range from 5600 ft at Maligne Lake to 8100 ft at the top of Whistlers Mt at the top of the SkyTram summit. Bring LOTS of WATER and takes breaks as needed.
