There are couple of butchers shops with produce from local farms a bakery and of course some lovely cafes for tea and a piece of cake.

Fountains Abbey World Heritage Site (National Trust) is just a mile from the Nestbox. If you don't want to pay to visit the Abbey, you just walk from the Nestbox (about a mile) or drive over to one of the car parks and then take a walk through the Deer Park and Seven Bridges.

Masham is a lovely Georgian market town just 8 miles from The Nestbox. Home of both The Black Sheep and Theakston Breweries. Local crafts, glass blowing, cafes and good pubs. A great place to potter around

Rural Location - Car essential
We are in a rural location 3 miles from Ripon with shops, supermarkets, etc., and 3 miles from the nearest country pub. No public transport. You are welcome to bring your bike and and we have a place they can be stored undercover if needed.
