Places to stay in West Fulton

Places to stay in West Fulton
Sunny Catskill mountain creekside retreat for folks who love to cook, meet the farmers who grow their dinner, hike, savor local spirits & read beside a fire. Please note: due to Covid-19, we are devoting extra attention to disinfecting frequently touched surfaces between stays.
Looking for air conditioning, ironed sheets, fast food and great shopping? Don't come. If you prefer to snuggle under an organic wool comforter while sipping mountain air from an open window; skinny dipping in a local swimming hole; staying in to cook after buying your ingredients from the farmer who grew them...If you like to read beside a fire, consider how a cricket's song changes with the temperature, or sip your morning coffee while dipping your toes into a mountain stream...If you would use your holiday time to ponder life's big questions, maybe with a few strangers-turned-friends; and if you prefer to tell your office mates that there's no cell service where you're going, we've got your dream vacation. Your holiday home is the second floor of the heartbeat of our little community, just above our post office and the Sap Bush Hollow Farm-To-Table Cafe, Farm Store & Espresso bar, open year round Saturdays 9-12, and Sat-Sun 9-1 for July and August. (Sorry. We can't stay open all week, 'cuz we're out skinny dipping in those swimming holes, too. But if we hear you coming, we'll get dressed and act nonchalant. Promise.) If you're into eating seasonally, this is great town to take advantage of the harvest. Sap Bush Hollow sells beef, lamb, pork, homemade sausages & bacon and poultry to bring home for your freezer. And you can buy tomatoes, cukes and all kinds of fruits and vegetables for canning, freezing & pickling just down the road. Coming in winter? We can point you to the best places in our vast network of state land to snowshoe or x-c ski. You'll have to drive about an hour if you're looking for downhill skiing. This is a great place to watch winter sunrises, or to behold the under-appreciated pleasures of mud season (no one's around. It's quiet. Frost on mud makes cool patterns....We could go on for hours about this.) The 3 bedroom 1400 sq ft apartment has a large eat-in kitchen/dining living room area, hardwood floors, gas fireplace, and a private back porch overlooking Panther Creek. We're serious cooks, so we've made sure your kitchen is equipped well.(Don't you hate vacation rentals with dull knives and no coffee grinder??). And when it comes to a good nights' rest, we've got you covered. Literally. The comforters, and blankets are made from our own fleeces, and the pillows are, too! Please note: Guests are asked to sign a contract agreeing to the house rules as they are posted in this listing upon making a reservation.
Welcome to West Fulton, a northern Catskill mountain hamlet where your neighbors care more about the freshness of their sweet corn than they do about cars and fashion. Come here for the quiet, the creeks, the swimming holes, the hills, the hiking and the farms. Nearest grocery store can be found in Cobleskill, 15 min. drive from your pad. There's also a movie theater, pottery studio and restaurants there...Also great restaurants and beer tasting room the other direction in Middleburgh, just 15 minutes in the other direction. We are 50 minutes from Cooperstown, and 20 minutes from Sharon Springs. The beautiful Hudson Valley is a stunning 1 hour drive, and Albany is 45 minutes away. Cobleskill Fairgrounds: 9.2 miles, 19 min. Windham Mountain Ski Center: 47 minute drive Hunter Mountain Ski Center: 51 minute drive Blenheim Hill Farm is 14 miles away, about 25-30 minute drive. Howe Caverns is 15.1 miles away, about 25-30 minute drive.
  • Shannon and Eileen are great hosts. We appreciate the space a lot and will definitely go back again,

  • This place has it all- an absolutely cozy feel, lots of special touches like farm fresh eggs in the kitchen and amazing wool blankets, and it's near many nice hiking trails. It was the perfect place to relax, cook, unwind and have fun outdoors. I would absolutely stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

  • Beautiful place with a little park right down the street. The bathroom blew me away. Not saying the whole place didnt just wasn't expecting such an amazing looking bathroom

  • This was one of the best airbnbs I have ever stayed at, and for the price, definitely the best value. The space is very beautiful and very spacious. The amenities are extensive; there was nothing missing. The photos don’t do justice to the beauty of the interior; I am sensitive to good lighting and the lighting is very nicely designed. You will not be disappointed by staying in this wonderful spot!

  • Sap Bush Farm AirBNB is first rate lodging in the most beautiful upland valley of Schoharie County. The associated Cafe offers an exquisite brunch and dinner on Saturdays. The refined hospitality and dining in the remote setting must be experienced to be believed.

  • This is our second stay and it was just as clean and comfortable as we remembered it. Highly recommended.

Get away from it all in this secluded off-grid cabin. Inspired by traditional lean -tos and modern Swedish design. This minimal space features a wall of windows that makes you feel like you are sleeping in the trees, while staying cozy and dry! Relax, unplug, and listen to the nearby stream, birds, & the rustle of leaves.
Fern valley eco cabin was built and designed by Yona. It is a timber frame structure, made with pine wood. The cabin has no (running water november- april) electricity or WiFi. You are free to access our WIFI by our house, a 5 min walk from the cabin.
20 minutes to Stamford, Hobart and Cobleskill. 45 minutes to Bovina, Cooperstown and Oneonta. Explore the trails, farms and great restaurants of the surrounding Catskills!
  • Our stay was everything we could have hoped for and more! It was quiet, cozy, warm, and beautiful. Reading by the giant windows, listening to the sounds of the creek, everything was magical. Would absolutely recommend!

    Jessica2020-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a spectacular visit, and space. Simple, clean, unique and just too short of a time there. It was a quick visit between COVID quarantine stays. We will be back, to truly enjoy. Our hosts Yona and Elan were fantastic. We loved the spot. Love hearing how it was built by them, with wood cut from the property, and milled by the hosts!!!! Waking up to the sunrise was a remarkable start to our day, and also started the regret of leaving so soon after learning of this great, great find. Too short a time there ... will be back, to explore!!!

    Michael2020-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect weekend! This beautiful cabin was just the escape we needed from the hectic city. Fresh air, beautiful forest and no one around. All the joys of camping - bonfire cooking, dips in the running stream, star-lit sky - but with the comfort of a clean, well-heated cabin. Yona and Elan were warm and friendly hosts. Can't wait to come back and experience different seasons!

  • A very special place. I stayed by myself and got the disconnect from the city that I needed. It was better than I expected and I can’t wait to come back. Thanks Yona and Elan.

    Jake2020-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was great you get exactly what is shown in the images. The cabin was warm and cozy and the outhouse was clean. When we stayed though it rained the day before and its getting warmer so the pond was over flowing and it was pretty muddy by the bonfire which was okay as long as you had some kind of boots on. Besides that I definitely would want to go back when things are drier. P.S: Their dog going on a morning stroll and hanging out with us as we were getting ready to leave was the best, he genuinely made me want to stay longer.

    Cyra2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay. The cabin was beautiful, plenty warm and cozy. Located in very beautiful private spot. Happily do it again.

    James2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • I can't express enough how much we loved this cozy little cabin! It is designed beautifully with beautiful, peaceful views of the surrounding woods. It stayed super warm, even on the snowy night we spent there. The host greeted us warmly and walked us to the cabin, even though we got there quite late. Can't wait to go back!

  • Fantastic place to stay...can’t say enough good things!

    Nicholas2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's house was exceptionally clean and relaxing. She has superior decorating skills and her home exudes an exotic/new age vibe, with items from her travels. She has an abundant amount of books. I enjoyed reading a book in the peace of our surroundings. Everywhere I looked, there were interesting touches and items. Karen was easy to reach and we had no issues. Thank you for a wonderful experience! :)

    Jennifer2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Karen is an attentive host. She is a positive and caring person. I enjoyed our "coffee talks' each morning. Her "Butterfly House" is conveniently located to down town and Route 145. It is clean and comfortable. It's a place where you can feel "right at home". This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Karen's place in the past year- when visiting family in the Cobleskill area. It will be my first place I check for availability when returning to the area.

    Annette2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is a cozy, eclectic, warm and very welcoming. We hope it's available the next time we're in Cobleskill!

This building was once a church and then the firehouse for the Village of Richmondville. The owner, an artist, renovated the building in 2007-2008 to use as her home and studio (on the first floor). Love has enabled this unique property to be available as an Airbnb rental. Situated on a large corner lot, the building feels very private, but is close to amenities and Interstate 88. There is also a waterfall behind the property.
The living room is furnished with a mix of comfortable seating, antiques, carpets, books, fine art and photographs. The apartment has high speed internet and a desk if you need to work while you are away from home. There is a DVD player and a large selection of DVD's and Amazon Prime gives you a connections to all streaming services through Apple TV. The kitchen is well equipped and a fully stocked pantry next to the kitchen leads to the powder room. There is also a large walk through closet between the bedroom and the master bath. Two inflatable queen sized mattresses are available for 2 more guests.
Richmondville is a small quiet town with a wonderful new deli serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The town also has a bank, post office, bar, gas station and Dollar General; all walking distance from the property.
  • You will be constantly amazed at how well appointed and equipped this space is.

    Jevon2020-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was incredibly spacious, beautifully decorated, with great sunlight. The location was gorgeous. Diana was an amazing host who was always responsive and gave us excellent advice on local amenities and beautiful hikes. All and all a fantastic experience.

The cabin consists of a living room/ kitchen, dining room, and bath on the first floor. There is a loft with 2 twin beds and a full bed. A wood stove will keep you cozy on cool nights and ceiling fans will keep you cool in the summer. All are welcome. Perfect for family of 4 or for 1 couple. There are fun things to do within an hour of the cabin. There are Caverns, zip-lining, Baseball Museum and lots of hiking trails around. There is a studio apartment attached to the back of the cabin for the hosts when they are there. It has a separate entrance and facilities. We are sometimes there so we can clean the cabin between guests. When we are there we have our 30 pound friendly American Eskimo with us.
Beginning the second weekend in October, the price per night will be $86 to help cover the cost of the firewood. By then you will need a fire in the wood burning stove to keep you cozy at night and also may need a fire during the day if it is chilly.
The cabin is set in the woods on a well kept gravel road. There are only eight homes on the road with only one you can see. The foliage in the area is beautiful. Come enjoy some great hunting or just come and enjoy the cabin and the beautiful area.
  • Very relaxing cottage away from noise but close to activities. Very well equipped with thoughtful extras. Thanks for having the first fire all ready to spark as it was a freezing night and that helped warm things up quicker. We will return when the weather is warmer as the chairs on the deck looked so comfortable and regret not having coffee outside.

  • Wonderful stay with all the amenities but with a rustic feel. Althea is a great host and communication is swift. We love the cabin and the area and will be back to Althea’s !

  • Amazing cottage in the middle of the woods to relax. Super friendly hosts!

    Martin2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is without a doubt the most thoughtfully appointed cabin in the woods. Every single thing you might need and want .... Michael and Althea have renovated this old hunter’s cabin perfectly. I slept like a rock. I loved it all. Additionally.... if they’re there at the same time in their private apartment.... you will be charmed by them as well! Jefferson is a wonderful, small village with great ‘picking’ opportunity too. Can’t beat it!

    Melissa2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Althea thank you again for everything. We had such a wonderful time at the house. It really made our weekend stress free. Unfortunately Jack didn't join us, too bad he would have love the yard. The house was clean and very cozy, and you provided us with everything we needed (coffee!). Your communication was outstanding. Kind Regards, Vincent

    Vincent2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We came to Althea’s place for a weekend getaway from the City with our dog. The place was just as described, very well maintained and offered all the quietness we were looking for. Downstairs a well equipped kitchen, dining room and a comfy living room with two rocking chairs, TV with Direct TV and DVD player with a broad collection. Upstairs two single beds and a double-bed, comfortably sleeps 4 people. You have a lot of privacy, two fire pits, a meadow with a bench behind the cottage and a roofed porch in case it rains. There were local tips for hiking and food. Thank you for a great stay!!

    Martina & Marek2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely place to stay for the weekend - especially a wonderful place for dogs. Althea was responsive and thoughtful, even leaving directions for a nice hike and calling to check to see that everything was ok with our stay. Would be happy to stay again!

  • If you are looking for a beautifully decorated rustic cabin in the Catskills, then this is the place! The amentities were great, but the best part by far is being surrounded by all of the nature. There are bird feeders all around the property, a few fire pits, and an outdoor shower.

Small, quiet log cabin on 13 acres in the Catskill mountains. Close to Hunter Mountain and Windham Mountain. Open concept loft with one queen bed, one full bed separated by privacy curtains and partial wall, along with full size pull out couch. No cell phone reception, no internet-perfect for a private vacation off the grid. Does have landline phone and dish cable. Waterfall, pond and stream on property, perfect for hiking.
  • Such a cute place, and it has everything you need. A true Airbnb in that it’s a home, not a space created to be an Airbnb—a big plus because it’s so cozy and doesn’t have the weird empty feeling. Clean, peaceful, and scenic. A great getaway. Be careful to follow the host’s directions carefully so that you don’t get lost and note that there is truly no signal, even if you have Verizon and are used to having some signal no matter what.

    Landon2020-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin to really unplug. very cozy and homey. getting there is a little tricky. i would recommend this to anyone wanting to get away into the mountains and unplug.

  • The coziest of coziest, this cabin is beautiful, extremely secluded, has a trail, lake and creek on property. The porch is perfect for sipping a hot cup of joe and doing some reading. I got the best sleep I’ve had in months. Cannot wait to come back !!

  • jessica’s house so was so cozy and a perfect getaway in the mountains. the nature vibes and off grid experience was everything a nature lover or someone in need of a break from life would adore. the space was incredibly cozy and welcoming. sooo much nicer than the pictures too, a truly wonderful home with lots of unique touches

    Kat2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica was very responsive, and the place was amazing. Make sure you follow the directions she provides closely, you can get a little lost if you don’t. I recommend you download the offline maps for ease since there is no service . Also her recommendation of a 4x4 is important, some hills are steep and can be slippery during the winter months. As for the cabin, it’s very beautiful and cozy. We loved it so much we didn’t want to leave. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, first time we were able to disconnect in a long time. There is a nice short hike around the property, bring boots. Will definitely come again.

    Asad2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

    Stan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica was great. Cabin was great. A little hard to find but that was my fault for not reading her directions clearly. She helped us find it even though it was very late at night. We will be going back in the summer!

  • Denise's place is a warm and cozy place to call home if you're hiking and exploring the cliffs and caverns of the region. In addition to a nice functioning kitchen (we cooked for ourselves a couple of times), the coffee and tea was a nice treat. The location is so close to attractions like Vroman's Nose and Secret Caverns too! Mom and I recommend a stay at the Stucco House!

    Ami2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place for a 1 or 2 night stay. Off Street parking with a sign designating the spot. It was raining when we arrived and could not see the sign but if it was a clear day or night it would very easy to see. There is a washer and dryer right insider the the private entrance. Keep your bags light and small. The staircase to the unit is steep and narrow which is typical of old houses. We were extremely pleased with the apartment. Very clean. The kitchen had a selection of coffee and teas. We did not take advantage of all which would capable with the kitchen amenities but it would very comfortable to prepare meals. We only stayed one night but enjoyed it.

Stunning 900 square foot apartment in a landmark Historic building built in 1898. Two bedrooms, one queen, one full, full bathroom, den/dining area, galley style kitchen with new range. Beautifully painted, new carpets, new bed frames and mattresses. The absolute nicest and cleanest place to stay in the region!
I purchased this awesome building 18 months ago and have been renovating the top two floors ever since. My own residence is the entire 3rd floor, where I live in 2400 square feet with my dog Balzac, named after the French writer, and two newly adopted cats. I am on site to make sure your stay is perfect in every way. Mine is arguably the best location in the Cobleskill area, and is clean and peaceful. College parents will have a guest room to accommodate their student on those weekend parental visits. Local hotel rooms cannot compare to the clean, simple elegance of Chez Balzac. Welcome.
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and we really enjoyed ourselves! Great communication and hospitality! We would stay again!

At nighttime, we got to see the bright stars in the sky. We felt very welcome here and Rosalie was always available if we needed anything. Would definitely come back for another stay!

    Theodore2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I were attending a wedding at Blenheim Hill Farm and this was the absolute perfect place to stay. It is less than a five minute drive away and so beautiful. Rosalie was an absolutely lovely host and put so many nice touches in the home like drinks in the fridge and breakfast supplies. The deck is gorgeous with the view of the lake. We were just sad we didn’t have more time to spend there but we hope to make a trip back soon!

    Ashley2019-09-23T00:00:00Z

  • Rosalie is an incredibly kind and generous host. Her home is filled with so much love and care. She was very flexible with our arrival and departure times, and even kept the fridge well-stocked. We wish we had booked a longer stay! We can’t wait to come back!

Newly restored 1840s Greek Revival cottage with new kitchen, two new bathrooms with showers (no tub) and new mechanical systems, two bedrooms, parking and vegetable and flower gardens with creek and horse pasture views. The house is furnished with 19th century antiques and decorative arts. Easily accessible to farmstands, antiquing, historic sites, restaurants and a nearby state park with an Olympic-size pool. The host lives next door, so help is available when needed, but privacy is allowed.
Please note that it is an old house with antique furnishings and some items are old and fragile with scratches and patina developed over time. If this is a concern, it may not be a good fit for you, but others will see this as part of the appeal. Please no children under 12. There is a smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime and Criterion Channel access, board games, books to read, an iron and ironing board, washer/dryer and a full kitchen.
The house is beside a placid creek with a view of adjacent mountains and a horse pasture across the creek. The house is on a paved road that is well maintained and plowed in the winter.
  • Beautiful place for a relaxing week away from the city

    Ashley2020-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Steven's cottage is a great place to stay if you're exploring the great Catskill mountain area, or if you're just looking to take quiet refuge from the city. The cottage is just inches from the banks of a rushing stream, which provides relaxing white noise to every open window. Across the stream is a barn with horses who play and graze all within your view. Inside, the cottage has a well appointed kitchen, which we used regularly to cook. For the intellectually curious, there are dozens of books to browse through, many focused on horticultural design and antique homes. Upstairs, the double is bed is very firm and the two single beds are slightly less so. The larger bedroom has ample space for yoga and other exercise. We had an extended stay during which we had to work remotely and the internet connection was solid and reliable, capable of handling 2 simultaneous video conferences. Steven was a wonderful host. He was quick to reply to messages sent over the AirBnB app and provided a steady supply of necessities as needed. We also enjoyed chatting with him over drinks about his years living in NYC and his work as a landscape architect. For time outside, we hiked at nearby Mine Kill state park (about 5 mins drive), which has a beautiful waterfall and canyon to explore. Steven also suggested the nearby Vroman's Nose loop (about 30 mins drive), which affords incredible cliffside views of the valley and the birds of prey that prowl the area.

  • This was our 2nd stay here within the past month. Our first stay was so great, and Steve is so nice and kind, that we came back for another weekend-stay. The second go-round was just as wonderful as the first! We hope to be back soon. Thanks again Steve!

    Joseph2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Steve’s cottage was fantastic. Originally, we had rented an AirBnb in Margaretville, a little ways away, and, unfortunately, the not-so-great-host cancelled due to poor planning on his part. We were stuck, and needed a place to stay, and it was on the later side of a Saturday. Anyways, Steve was so gracious, and allowed us to book past his booking deadline, for 3 days/2 nights, on a holiday weekend, after communicating with AirBnb. We had prior engagements in the surrounding areas, and he basically saved us/our weekend plans. Steve’s home was even better than our fall-through booking. It was spotless, cozy, beautiful...everything we needed, and hoped for, after a long day of working things out. Steve greeted us with the key, showed us around, gave local tips, and was simply quite pleasant to be around. The beds were comfortable, kitchen spotless, bathrooms were spacious and excellent...the views of the river/pasture/horses from the rear of the house were/are spectacular...such a wonderful experience and stay! We plan on booking the next time we are remotely near North Blenheim, and so should you. Thanks Steve!

  • Had a great weekend here. Aree was a fantastic host.

  • We have now stayed here a second time and loved it just as much as the first.

    John2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had the most incredible weekend at Aree’s cabin. It’s secluded enough that it’s the perfect place to disconnect and recenter, but also conveniently located to everything you need (grocery store, farmer’s stand, Walgreen’s, liquor store) plus a few extra luxuries (if you’re a meat eater don’t miss out on a trip to Solinski’s!) Aree was a great host. He gave us great recommendations of things to do in the area and was available when we needed him to resupply us with candles. We will definitely be back!

  • We had a great stay at Aree's cute cabin. It was everything we were looking for to get away from the big city. We enjoyed walking around the beautiful land around the cabin and seeing deer and turkeys, and finding wild raspberries!

Keyless entry. The home has been sanitized as of 08APR2020. All sheets, Towels, Silverware are new. New shampoos, conditioners, & soaps for ea guest. Hand Sanitizer available. The world has put a lot on restriction; however this beautiful Art home has gorgeous hiking at Vroman's Nose nearby. Down the street from Village of Cobleskill; a charming welcoming village. Close to Baseball Hall of Fame, Howe's Cavern, Albany (State Capital) + more. Now is the time to see New York's great rural areas.
Truly Magnificent! Previously an appliance store; I integrated new with the old, as it has its own story. Remodled; and always in works for improvement.
Quiet neighborhood, the folks are friendly and the Village of Cobleskill is welcoming. Five minute walk up a hill and the views are amazing. Wildlife is abundant and when night time comes and the sky is clear the stars light up everything!

Charming 1890's country home nestled in quaint rural village in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. We are 8 minutes from the beautiful Blenheim Hill Farm; 14 minutes from Minekill State Park; 18 minutes from New York Safety Track; one hour away from Albany and Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame); and 3.5 hours from NYC. Antiques shops close by. The Cottage Suite makes a comfy getaway and place to relax.
The Cottage Suite was newly renovated in 2017 with a hint of a cottage experience. Our extended family reunions have always been at 'the cottage' in Canada - so our decor resembles those fond 'cottage-type' memories. This suite has 2 separate bedrooms, both with a queen size bed and smart or roku tv. One of the bedrooms includes the fridge; coffee maker; a bar sink and the newly tiled bathroom with walk-in shower.
On Saturdays through the summer, the town has opened up the 'Maple Museum' for a local 'Farmer's Market'. Come and enjoy. They also put on a free to the public, Summer Concerts every Sunday afternoon at 2pm. You will appreciate the small village atmosphere as you stroll through the village. We are in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains surrounded by rolling hills and country roads.

  • We booked two rooms (longer review under other room). Very positive experience. Well located. Comfortable and clean and nicely renovated. Would recommend and wouldn’t think twice about staying again next time we’re in the area.

    Patrick2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lesley's "cottage suite" was absolutely beautiful! It's definitely one of the coziest and cleanest airbnb's I've ever stayed in. Lesley clearly takes pride in making sure her rooms are immaculate and I felt right at home as soon as I walked in the door. Lesley and her husband Bob greeted me upon my arrival and showed me up to the room. They are both warm, friendly, and welcoming. The natural light in the room is gorgeous and the bed is extremely comfortable. The bathroom is fantastic as well! Overall, Lesley's space went above and beyond my expectations and I'm already looking forward to my next stay there. It's the perfect place for a tranquil weekend getaway from NYC!

    Alexander2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at Lesley's place! It is so quaint and she & her husband were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed eating at both local eateries - the entire town seemed full of kind & nice folks! We had great accommodations and Lesley even provided us with homemade muffins to go with our morning coffee!

This Big "Tiny House" is sure to please with its fully functional kitchen, comfortable loft bedroom, well furnished living room and dining area, and beautiful yard and back porch. So much thought has gone into this adorable little house. It offers it's guests all the comforts of a home away from home built and furnished by seasoned travelers. We have tried to be sure that your stay is perfect whether you are looking for 1 night of quiet or 2 weeks to take in all the local attractions.
The property is located on a well maintained Road, (off of the main rd.) and sits in front of four and a half acres of farmland. It is bordered on two sides by pine trees, has a lovely side yard and a very private back yard. The roof is 12 on 12 providing a considerable amount of Headroom in the loft area and the entire house is insulated with the best possible insulation to keep the occupants warm on even the coldest of winter nights and yet preserving nice, cool temperatures on hot days. Outfitted with a Rinnai heater, Navien tankless on-demand hot water heater, stainless steel refrigerator, stove and built in microwave, no expense was spared to create this warm and well-thought-out get-away. Hardwood flooring (acacia wood), tongue and groove walls & ceiling give the feeling of being in a cozy cabin, right down to the private, roofed back porch for a quiet summer's night relaxation. The Shabby Chic style including a kitchen filled with gadgets and a Keurig machine (don't forget your k-cups) makes cooking and serving delicious meals that much fun. Our first guests left rave reviews and told us they would definitely return. The Shabby Chic Airbnb sits around the corner from over 800 Acres of state land and is well situated for a commute to Albany, Cobleskill, Cooperstown, Oneonta, Delhi and yet under a 4 hour commute from New York City. This area is currently home to several wedding venues, The Breakfast Club (the best breakfast restaurant I have ever eaten at) and is an easy commute to everything from skiing to snowmobiling, hunting to fishing, golfing to horseback riding, swimming to visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame, a racetrack (cars and motorcycles, Oorah, even 2 Wal-marts, we've got it all.
The Breakfast Club is located right on Main St. in Jefferson and serves the best breakfast in NYS (in my opinion)! The Heartbreak has a long tradition of serving good, affordable food as well as offering a full bar for those seeking beverages. There is a corner store known as the J & H not more than 5 miles away that will provide most of the necessary basics you may find you need. There is a post office in town for all your mailing needs. The Jefferson Green, the town park, is in the heart of Jefferson and has a nice playground including swings, slide (tall slide), teeter totters and a basketball court. There are also several picnic tables and benches. Buck Hill Farms serves a wonderful Pancake Breakfast with Real Maple Syrup on weekends. This is small town living at it's best!
  • Great little place on a quiet road.

    Alex2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very intimate, comfortable, and cozy with lovely surroundings. I was in town for a wedding at a nearby farm/event space and it was no problem getting there. Kimberly left a lot of helpful notes around the cottage with instructions for check-in and checking out. The space was very thoughtfully and accommodatingly arranged.

    Ben2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kimberly and Amber were exceptional hosts in every way. This tiny house was both modern and clean and had all the amenities of a large house. Beautiful! It had everything you would hope in a stay from all necessary kitchen appliances, clean showers, hair dryers, multiple fans, pull out couch, washer, dryer and so on. Even the Hulu was subscribed to live TV! Check in process was easy and laid back and they were both were there to answer any questions before, during, and after the stay. I recommend to anyone looking for a little getaway especially with a dog! A+ hosts all around and would gladly come back anytime.

    Joshua2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We live in Brooklyn (lol) and had a wedding in nearby Summit. We had such an amazing time at Kimberly's place—and so did our English bulldog, Hank. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cute tiny home in the area.

  • Horst and Sigird are amazing people and host!! We were so lucky to stay at there home. We were there for our family friends wedding at Seven Ponds Farm which was waking distance from this air b & b. They had all breakfast food for us in the fridge and freezer we had use of everything. They made us feel right at home! Horst was so helpful and such a pleasure talking with - my dad and husband loved talking with him! I couldn’t say more nice things about this lovely couple! We plan to head back up there sometime in the summer to stay with them! The property is beautiful, peaceful and well kept!! The house was spotless everything was so clean and neat! Thanks again you both are amazing

    Brittni2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Horst and Sigrid were amazing hosts! They have a really beautiful home (that Horst physically built by himself) up in Summit, NY. They did it as a bed & breakfast style so they were there and ready to make me breakfast - whatever I wanted at whatever time I wanted to get up. They made it very easy for me to come and go as I please, as I was in out of the house for my best friend's wedding up the road at Seven Ponds Farm. While I travel with my own stuff, they had absolutely everything I could possibly need just in case (toiletries, sheets & linen, iron, lint roller, garment rack since they knew I was coming for a wedding and had formalwear with me, etc.). I had an issue getting a rental car from Albany and took an Uber to them. Horst insisted that he would drive me back to Albany and wouldn't let me take an Uber back to Albany. They're both so sweet and wonderful people - I may go up again for a weekend getaway at their place.

  • Peaceful and relaxing cottage in the Catskills. Records were wonderful and space was fantastic. Tips were very helpful. Thanks April & Raf!

    Aldean2020-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Raf was very quick to respond to any questions we had regarding our trip. When we arrived, we immediately new we didn't want to rush out on Sunday and asked for a late check out which Raf easily accommodated. We were excited to find a box of games that we enjoyed playing while listening to Raf's record collection. We also spent time sitting outside at the picnic table, grilling, and reading in the hammock. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend to decompress away from the city!

    Ally2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Thyme Cottage. Rafael & April were excellent hosts - very responsive and gave us lots of good advice on local shopping/hiking/etc... The location is beautiful - the grounds are great for wandering and the cottage is cozy, well-stocked with all the necessities, and full of games, a wonderful record collection and books.

    Kait2020-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I escaped from Covid-19 to Rafael’s place. It was proven to be a fantastic choice!Rafael was a great communicator from the start. The check in process was seamless. The property is vast, and the view is breathtaking! The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. There is speedy wifi; we had no problem doing video conferences. We didn't want to leave after 6 nights stay. Rafael’s place is one of my best airbnb experiences. We will stay there again.

    Zoe2020-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Raf and April cottage. It was the perfect weekend getaway. The cottage was cosy with plenty of amenities to make the stay pleasant. We would definitely go back :)

    Jola2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really beautiful place - the grounds are beautiful with a view of the mountains. The value you get is really incredible - the place is clean and well stocked (basic spices, olive oil, tea, coffee, pots, pans, dishes). Lots of places to relax outside. The only not perfect things (which were all spelled out, not surprised about) are that the water smells of sulphur - the host will recommend water bottles, which I agree with and the heat wasn't on when we got there so it was a little cold until the space heaters got everything warmed up. Despite this - I would absolutely go here again and would hope to revisit in another season (fall, spring, or summer!).

    Samantha2020-03-26T00:00:00Z

We were especially impressed by the modern updates. I was concerned for a cabin that the floors and ceilings let bugs in but the space was AIR TIGHT! We do recommend packing bottled water in advance. The cabin is serviced by well water and that was an adjustment. Have fun!

A charming 2 story Victorian with 4 bedrooms and 2 bath is waiting for your stay. Sleeps 7 but room for air mattresses (available) should you need more space. 3 bedrooms have queen mattresses and 1 bedroom has a twin. House is fully stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies, including hair dryers. Near Cooperstown & Dreams Park (30-45 minutes away), Capital district (45 minutes away) & train ride to/from NYC and Boston (3.5 hour drive away)
This home is located on a side road off of Main Street and is within walking distance of many of the village's amenities- movie theater, restaurants, shops, bookstore, coffee shop, ice cream shops, walking paths and parks. The house is a quirkey set up which is common for old victorians. The three upstairs bedrooms have connecting doors ( GREAT if you have children who want to feel close yet in their own space). The one large bathroom upstairs has 2 entrances- one is through the bedrooms and the 2nd is up the backstairs through the laundry room. The downstairs bathroom is accessible in the kitchen- a much smaller bathroom but with a full shower, sink and toilet. The only bedroom downstairs is off the kitchen, has a twin bed, couch and cable TV. I am constantly updating and rearranging the set up to best meet the needs of my guests...most recent update including the adding of bed space and making sure all upstairs bedrooms had queen sized beds. The backyard is a work in progress- we are always adding new landscaping and plants. We hope you are happy with the results of all of our work.
The street will have normal business day traffic as there are a number of shops and local amenities nearby being utilized. It is a family neighborhood so there are many families riding bikes, walking dogs and saying hello.
  • Dove's place was so much fun and exactly as described! Our son was participating in Cooperstown DreamPark and we had grandparents traveling to see the games. Having Dove's place gave us room to relax and enjoy each other without being confined to a hotel. It had absolutely everything we needed and it felt like being home! We especially enjoyed the back porch and the fire pit! Cobleskill is a great little town. It is about 45 minutes away from Cooperstown, but it was a beautiful and enjoyable ride! Thanks Dove!!! We'll definitely be back!!!!

  • This is a great house, in a great small town. Old victorian-ish, lots of room, the back and front porches invite you to sit a spell and watch the world go by for a bit. Dove was quickly responsive, the house had many amenities if you forgot something, or just wanted a cup of coffee or tea in the morning. Lovely home, lovely town, great location.

  • Dove is a very welcoming and helpful host. The neighborhood is very quiet for a good night's sleep on the comfy beds. House is very conveniently located. House has a relaxed, easy feel. Thank you to Dove and Brian.

  • This was our first Airbnb rental so we don’t have anything to compare it to. Dove was very attentive to us from the beginning to the end. She was quick to reply and very helpful. As mentioned, this is an old house with a lot of charm. Keep in mind that old houses with charm have their quirks. We live in one. If you read the guest book, the quirky things are explained. I agree that if you have a hard time with stairs, it may be a difficult place to stay. Having said that, we very much enjoyed our stay. And it was perfect for our family of 6.

  • Dove’s house was so warm and cozy! It was like a home away from home. Dove was a picture perfect host - communicative, welcoming, and accommodating. I highly recommend staying with her :)

  • Katy and George's place was wonderful! We were there for a nearby wedding at Blenheim Hill Farm and couldn't have asked for a better location. They were very communicative and helpful with any questions that arose. The house was beautifully situated on a pond and we enjoyed the open floor plan living area. I'd definitely recommend staying there and hope to spend time at the cabin again!

    Sara2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and communicative, Katy & George ensured our stay for a rustic barn wedding was accommodating. The cabin is charming and the outdoor cat was so sweet and adorable, I fell in love. I wish I was sipping my coffee on that front porch right now, relaxing taking in the serene mountain and pond view. We brought our own sheets and everything we needed, and thank goodness I had hanging dresses to cover windows because there weren’t any curtains, but I’m an early riser anyway so it didn’t bother me. I burned incense to combat a foreign smell (which I think was the water) .. Thank you for having us !!! Charming & lovely ❤️

  • Mindy was a great host; she had timely and friendly communication. The location is perfect for a couple looking to enjoy time near the Catskills. It is cozy (the pictures are very accurate) and well stocked with all the amenities one expects in the kitchen and bathroom. We were also happy to find plenty of supplies to make an outdoor fire. The cabin is located about 12 minutes from Main St, Middleburgh with plenty eateries, shops and a market. There are some nice hikes within about 30 minutes drive. We had a great weekend and would definitely stay again.

  • Mindy's home offered the perfect escape! Nestled in a remote area several miles from town, I enjoyed the sounds of the birds, crickets, and the sight of the stars at night. It was a pleasure to relax to sounds of nature and the sight of greenery out the window. I felt like I truly got away from it all! I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the bed and pillows and the soft texture of the sheets. At 6 months pregnant, it can be difficult for me to sleep well, but I was perfectly comfortable. Mindy was helpful, communicative, and accommodating. I found exactly the experience I was looking for and plan on returning the next time I need a little escape from the city.

The historic Mill Pond Inn was built in 1879 by the Mann Brothers, who ran a grain and sawmill. When David and Joan purchased the property in 2017, it had been abandoned for twenty-two years, but retained many of its original details. Today, the house features five rooms with private baths, a relaxing front porch, and a large back deck with stunning views of the mill pond. An event space for parties of up to 100, with additional space in the bar, are also available.
The house sits on 25 acres of scenic woodland. Guests can cross over the wooden bridge, past the waterfall, and to the nature trail, which winds around the pond and along the stream. The area is home to frogs, beavers, and many birds: herons, egrets, wood ducks, mallards, kingfishers, and others.
Jefferson is a one of-a kind rural community, with a village green, many original buildings along Main Street, and eateries—Buck Hill Farm, The Breakfast Club, and The Heartbreak Hotel—that attract patrons from a wide area. In summer, the active Historical Society presents free concerts in the magnificent Maple Museum.

  • My wife and 14-month old daughter and I stayed here to attend a weekend of events at Blenheim Hill Farm, and Seven Ponds Farm. This property was perfectly located less than 10min from Blenheim Farm and less than 20min from Seven Ponds Farm. Rooms were both recently renovated, nicely designed and comfortable. Also nice to be a short 2min walk to a breakfast spot and bar/grill in town. Buck Hill Farm 0.5 mile away is was also a highlight for weekend breakfast. Would definitely stay again next time we are in the area.

  • My fiance and I stayed at Wind in the Willow's while in Jefferson for a wedding at Blenheim Hill Farm, which was about a 10 minute drive away. The room was decorated nicely, was clean, cozy, comfortable, and had a king-sized bed which we greatly appreciated after a 4+ hour drive. It had bottled water, coffee pods, and delicious muffins which held us over before we had dinner at the wedding and then breakfast the next morning at The Breakfast Club (recommended by Lesley & her husband -- it was delicious). There were a few other restaurants, bars, and a gas station in the area so there seems to be a convenient area to stay if you're there for several days. I recommend staying at Lesley's place!

    Jessi2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for just a night at Lesley's place but found it comfortable and accommodating. Lesley allowed us to check in early—which was fast and easy. The room has a Keurig machine for morning coffee, and has a large, spacious bedroom and bathroom. Towels and shampoo were provided. Highly recommend breakfast at the Breakfast Club a few blocks away!

  • What a beautiful home and room filled with amazing artwork. Lesley’s home was incredible and it was even better than we could have imagined. Lesley and her husband were there on the porch to greet us and welcome us in to their home. We had a wedding at Blenheim Hill Farms and it was less than a 10 min drive away making it so easy to get to and from. We would highly recommend this!

  • We stayed at Wind In The Willows for a nearby wedding and were really happy with our choice. Lesley and her husband welcomed us warmly upon arrival. Our room was large w a very comfy king bed and private bathroom with a good shower. The decor is country comfortable w lots of artwork by Lesley’s Dad, who illustrated book covers and advertising. It made for a truly unique and personal stay. The Breakfast Club is a short walk and makes a fantastic breakfast.

  • We were so impressed with David and Joan's BNB. It was meticulously appointed, comfortable and an absolute gem of a place. As with any new property on AirBNB, we weren't sure what to expect given the lack of reviews, however, it is safe to say that this location exceeded our expectations. We spent another night at a more established but similar Inn in the area and found this location to be far better. Breakfast included fresh fruit, coffee and a selection of bread. The hosts were very friendly and hosted a wine and cheese happy hour. We will definitely stay again!

  • David was super responsive and very friendly. We didn’t spend a lot of time there, as we were just passing through. The home is an amazing restoration from an original building for the 1870s. Has a lot of character and a quiet and beautiful setting. Would stay there again in a heartbeat and would recommend the place to anyone in the area.

  • There are few places that can compare to the Mill Pond Inn. The hosts have undertaken a huge project in restoring this grand antique inn, and their work is fantastic. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the interior renovation. Each bedroom is elegant, with the emphasis on quiet privacy. Every bedroom has a private bathroom.

  • This beautifully renovated space on an old mill pond is the perfect place to stay to see fall color.

  • The Inn is a beautiful space with a mix of old architectural details with modern touches. The check-in process was super simple, the hosts easy to communicate with. Loved having tasty, fresh coffee available first thing in the morning, along with toast and butter. We took advantage of the little nature trail along the pond behind the Inn- my 9-year-old loved it. The large shared great room with comfortable seating and a huge fireplace is a nice touch as well. Will def. stay again if in the area.

  • Wow! Both David and Joan are sitting on and building a gem through and through. From their thoughtful hospitality to the easy conversations, they really covered everything. We had so much fun enjoying their beautiful space and casually conversing with them. It was like we were visiting friends even though we had just met. Rooms are beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The actual house is a gem and I can't wait to see how much further they develop the spot. Will stay again and recommend 1000x over.
