  • Tamsin is a great host, going the extra mile. The location and room is fantastic and having a hot tub is a real bonus. Highly recommended.

  • Tasmin’s place was perfect for a super relaxing week away. Her cabin is about a 30 minute walk from the station, (and a short cab ride) - Oxford is just a 20 minute train journey away if you fancy exploring. The thoughtful touches of robes and a ready and waiting hot tub were wonderful. The cabin was warm, comfortable and perfect for the trip. Communication was prompt and super helpful!

  • Fantastic log cabin with hot tub, a lot bigger than I expected. Fitted myself and 2 friends easily for a girls night away to celebrate a 30th birthday. Tamsin was quick to respond and provided lots of information before we arrived. Great place to go with the girls or with your partner. I would recommend to friends and family, and hope to return some time in the future.

  • Had a lovely weekend with my partner at the cabin retreat. Although it was in a residential location, you would never have known when in the cabin! The treatment we had was amazing and very relaxing. Cabin full of amenities to be able to cook. Tamsin gave lots of suggestions of food and places to visit close by. Excellent distance from Bicester village. However, did have one issue with the shower, it kept say LP and turning off. Other than this no complaints. Thank you, throughly enjoyed!!

  • Amazing place to stay. So clean inside and the hot tub was fab

  • An absolutely amazing place. Booked Tamsin's place for my boyfriends Xmas present, with the massages, and every part was gorgeous! Will definitely be going back! So relaxing.

  • We stayed at this beautiful home for 3 summer nights and have to say the weekend was perfect. The accommodation was great, everyone had an ensuite bathroom and the grounds were huge with plenty of activities to keep us busy including a BBQ, table tennis table and hot tub. Indoors there was a nicely sized dining room and living room which we could all fit in, and we spent most of our time in the open planned kitchen / breakfast area, so we were very comfortable. Our host left us plenty of guidance prior to arrival and was available to assist with any queries throughout. For a group of friends with young children the home provided an ideal place for quality time and making some great memories.

  • This is an outstanding house in the Oxfordshire Costwolds with an old house (chapel?) extended thoughtfully using local materials (stone, brick, slate). It's modern and clean but also has charm, think Danish design meets a Cotswolds house. Super clean and functional, fresh and stylish. Amazing communication from Caroline and Sylwia.

    Fred2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly we could not have asked for a better place to stay over Christmas. It was sparkling clean and had absolutely everything we needed. Could not recommend more!! Caroline and Jon were highly communicative and the housekeeper Sylwia was also very welcoming on our arrival.

  • Wow - this is a great place. We visited for two nights for my wife’s 40th birthday and had such an amazing stay. The property is fantastically furnished in a beautiful location and the pictures don’t do it justice. There is so much space and you don’t feel like you are living in each other’s pockets. The children loved the freedom and also the amazing pool with its great features! We were blessed with great weather so never left the property and would highly recommend.

Set in the traquil surroundings of Lower Nill Farm this wooden cabin has glorious views across the Cotswolds with all the amenities to make your stay a relaxing break away from hectic life. Lower Nill Farm is just a short distance from the historical village of Hook Norton. Hook Norton is famous throughout the world for its brewery which has been making beer since 1849. Lower Nill Farm is also located on the historic D'arcy Dalton way which spans the length of the county of Oxfordshire.
The Cabin is an oak framed structure complete with exposed beams/trusses and vaulted ceilings which make the space light & airy. The glazing makes the most of the views looking out to Brailes Hill and beyond, it also makes a great space to watch local wildlife. The Cabin also has a huge garden at your disposal perfect for summer BBQ's and for children to play safely. The plot is in a very peaceful part of the farm an excellent place to unplug and relax.
Lower Nill Farm is located in the spectacular Oxfordshire countryside. It's a great base to explore the Cotswolds and also historical cities and towns like Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick, Banbury, Chipping Norton and Leamington Spa. The local village, Hook Norton, is a very picturesque place where agriculture and brewing have played a huge part in the prosperity of the village. The local brewery is the home of Hook Norton ales and a huge source of local pride. A visit to the brewery shows you a process that has barely changed in 200 years in a majestic building purpose built for the serious business of making beer. Other local gems are: -Whichford pottery and the adjoining Straw Kitchen Cafe -Broughton Castle -The Rollright Stones -Upton House -Chastleton House -Blenheim Palace
  • This stay really made our trip to the Cotswalds. It’s a bit outside of the Cotswalds, but if you have a car, it’s easy to get around. You can tell a lot of attention went into making this the perfect farmhouse. One bed is a pull-out couch but the duvets they provide are lovely and it’s nice to sleep by the fireplace and see the view out the windows. We really loved the fireplace and the wood/fire starting materials made it easy. The kitchen is lovely for cooking with all the utensils you need. We brought milk but didn’t need to, as they provided some. The hosts greet you and come by if needed. This rural stay outside of the Cotswalds was everything we needed for a weekend getaway from London!

    Cora2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the cabin. Lots of personal, thoughtful touches and comfortable bed.

  • Wonderful location!

    Jonathan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here 2 nights in Feb. Really cosy and quiet. Nice extra touches, like leaving the place stacked with board games, dvds, books and even a couple of bottles of the local beer from Hook Norton Brewery. Holly was there waiting for us when we arrived and showed us around. She was available via text at any time should you need her. Just a note that no toiletries were provided so dont forget those. They kindly left us some milk, orange juice, tea etc. Kitchen is fully functional and has everything you need to prepare dinner. The place is on a working farm so pitch black and silent of an evening - the perfect escape.

    Lauren2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with fantastic views. Good communication throughout and loved the local beer!

Welcome to Honeysuckle Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Honeysuckle Cottage is a beautiful grade II listed thatched cottage, located in the north-east of The Cotswolds, looking out over the village green in the peaceful little village of Sutton-under-Brailes. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
The front door of Honeysuckle Cottage is accessed via the front garden, which overlooks the lovely village green. The front door opens diectly into the kitchen and the following rooms are on the ground floor: Living/dining room: Looking out over the village green, this room contains comfy seating for four, a flame effect fire, and a flatscreen TV with a DVD player. There is also a wooden dining table, with seating for four; Kitchen: A well presented galley style kitchen, which contains an electric oven, four ring electric hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and a washing machine. French doors lead out from the living/dining room to the enclosed garden (please note that the neighbouring cottage has a right of way through the garden). The lovely garden is mostly laid to lawn and contains an outdoor table and four chairs, plus an additional two seater table and a swing seat. The cottage has one off-street parking space at the end of the front garden and further on-street parking is available directly outside the cottage.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
  • Quaint, quiet and comfortable, just what I was looking for!

  • A beautiful cottage in a very quiet village. Beautifully decorated with super comfy beds. Although there are no amenities directly in the village there are plenty of lovely walks (which can be found in the books in the lounge) nearby. The welcome goodies mean you don’t have to rush to the shop and can build a trip into your day, as anything is a short drive or walk away. We really enjoyed our stay here, such a perfect break away from the hustle and bustle! Would definitely book again.

    Emma2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Character Cottage is a quiet and peaceful place in Sutton, not far from Stratford's small town near Shakespeare's home. Self-driving is recommended, parking is possible. As it is winter, there are few tourists. The rest was good, the cottage kitchen was well-equipped, and the host warmly prepared eggs, milk, bread and butter for us. The bedroom is on the second floor. Although small, it is very welcoming. The bathrooms are great, with romantic bathtubs and comfortable shower rooms.

    红丽(Jennifer)2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Honeysuckle cottage is an amazing stay! It is cute and cozy. We got everything we needed to stay comfortably. Everything was very clean and they provided us with milk, bread, butter and eggs. And special thanks to Chris for helping us out when our car got stuck at the parking spot. He was quick to respond and easy to communicate. We arrived at night (it was very dark) and didn’t realize we accidentally ran over a small rock n got stuck. 😂 Luckily it was okay. Overall, it was a perfect stay!

  • Fantastic property in a stunning location, and it was super easy to find! Really enjoyed the surrounding countryside and had useful tips from the host on the local area. Definitely recommend this Airbnb.

    Thomas2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great company. Very responsive, very helpful. Can not fault them and will definitely use them again ❤️

    Joni2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for an idyllic little cottage to get away from it all, this is the place for you. The ling room is perfectly cosy and both bedrooms offer good sized beds which the host asked before arrival if we'd like making up as twin or double rooms. The bath is great for relaxing in after a long walk and the kitchen is sufficient enough to fully self cater. The cottage is managed by a larger company and, as I found out subsequently, it's cheaper to book direct than via this website. Also, they charge £20 to bring a dog (hidden away in the Ts & Cs on this site) but I can't see what that extra charge provided. The nearest pub (The George) is 1.6 miles away and serves some excellent food and drink in a classic, dog friendly, pub environment. All in all, a great little find and we'd definitely return.

Complementing these period features, the house has modern facilities, including fast Wifi in all rooms, smart TV with Freeview and Alexa Voice Remote, DVD player, and Bose bluetooth speaker. Bridge Hill Cottage is situated on Bridge Hill, a small lane that becomes a footpath a few yards below the property and leads down to a stream. The cottage has a small front garden, with four steps up to the front door, which opens into an entrance hall. This leads to: Kitchen/dining room: The dining room has seagrass matting on a tiled floor, a large window-seat, plus a dining table. which comfortably seats eight guests. Adjoining the dining room is the well equipped kitchen, including an electric cooker with hob, fridge, separate wine fridge, counter-top ice-maker, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. Freezer capacity available upon request. Main living room: The heart of the house, with exposed beams, a large inglenook fireplace with a wood-burning stove, three-seater sofa, plus a 'love-seat' armchair, window seat and 2 x wickerwork chairs; Utility room: Contains a toilet, hand basin, washing machine and tumbler dryer. From the main living room, five steps lead up to: Second living room: A spectacular room for both adults and children, containing a fabulous old bar-billiards table (the rules are on the wall!), a large open fire, exposed beams and a Smart TV, corner sofa, plus armchairs. There is also a piano, however please be aware that this may not be properly tuned. Stairs from this room lead up to the minstrels’ gallery, overlooking the piano and bar-billiards table, which contains a full size double sofa bed (see Key Features below); Returning to the main living room, stairs go upstairs to a landing, which features an antique washstand and leads to: Bedroom 1: A dual aspect room, with double bed, dresser and built-in wardrobes; Bedroom 2: Another dual aspect room, with double bed and built-in wardrobes. Bedroom 2 has access to bathroom 2 (see below), enabling it to be used as an en-suite bathroom, if desired; Bedroom 3: Bunk beds with two large storage drawers beneath and a bedside table with drawers for storage; Bathroom 1: Newly refurbished, with a bath (with shower attachment), toilet and washbasin; Bathroom 2: A newly built shower room, with toilet and washbasin. This “Jack & Jill” bathroom can be accessed from the landing or from bedroom 2, allowing it to be either a shared bathroom or bedroom 2’s en-suite bathroom. The garden comprises an enclosed paved patio, a real sun-trap from early spring to late autumn, with a table seating up to eight. Steps lead up to a raised lawn, with a bench and small table. There is a lovely view of the church tower from the patio and lawn. There is a low wall on the side of the garden, therefore pets and children should be supervised at all times. An impressive Cotswold stone barbecue, for which the kitchen/dining room window acts as a serving hatch, can be used in all seasons.

If your after a quiet place to stay this is ideal. We try to keep any noise down as much as possible. Especially if someone is already asleep. no noise after 10.30pm.
It is only a box room but very comfortable
It's a fairly quiet neighborhood as I live in a cal de sac the only traffic I get is the neighbors but you wont hear that as the bedroom is at the back.

  • We had a great time at the Cottage. I came there with my family to attend my graduation at the University of Warwick. We were 7 people in total. There was plenty of space and also enough bathrooms, so that we had our privacy and never had to wait a long time. The location is great for trips to Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Birmingham. We also went to London once. The house is super clean and looks so charming. I would highly recommend this place! Thank you for the lovely stay.

  • This is an outstanding property for a family gathering. Plenty of showers & toilets - a real asset for a family! The crockery, cutlery & glass wear & pans were in excellent condition! The corner shop was excellent - they seemed to have everything! Great for those last minute things. Everyone in the village was super friendly too! We would definitely use this property again & the company running it are very efficient & helpful

  • The cottage is perfect for a weekend getaway. It was absolutely sparkling clean and really easy to use everything. It was spacious for a large group, we never felt cramped at all. Information regarding the property was very accurate and I always felt able to contact someone should I need help. The village is very sweet and we took a trip to Blenheim Palace which was a great day out, especially as the weather wasn't great. I really recommend this property for a weekend break but I wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you.

Charming period cottage found at the end of a cul-de-sac in a country village. This would be a peaceful retreat for a business person working in Banbury; an overnighter for theatre lovers going to the RSC; or a good base for those wishing to explore the Cotswolds; Leamington Spa; Silverstone; and all the delights of London are a mere 50 mins away on the train.
Guests can make themselves at home in the bedroom and use the bathroom across the landing.

  • We really enjoyed everything at Herrieff's Cottage - lovely location, very well equipped, great space - warm and comfortable, and top class hosts in Mary and Justin. Can't recommend it highly enough!

  • The cottage is absolutely fantastic, very big and has everything you could possible need. It was spotlessly clean and had lots of nice touches including some homemade cake on my arrival! I could not fault this cottage, it really is perfect and great value for money. It is easy to find and check in was simple. I hope to stay again soon.

  • This place is just perfect! Sparkling clean, warm and cosy and has everything you need for a great stay. The WiFi was great. Constant hot water. The lounge is huge. I would highly recommend it.

    Julie2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot be any more positive about this fantastic cottage. We had a truly wonderful weekend and will definitely be returning. Check in was very easy and the cottage is very easy to find - it’s literally opposite the Blinking Owl pub, which we had dinner in and would highly recommend (cash only!). We arrived very late on Friday evening on a wet and cold day to a wonderfully warm cottage. The kitchen is spacious with all the cooking equipment you need. The living room is huge! It has two comfortable sofas and a large smart TV. As expected, being in a stone cottage, the mobile reception is poor but the WiFi was perfect throughout the whole cottage. The upstairs bedroom is also spacious and the bed itself was large and super soft. The bathroom was great and the shower absolutely perfect. As we were leaving we were lucky enough to meet two of the gorgeous dogs who were so sweet. The whole cottage was extremely clean - I felt very comfortable throughout our trip. The property has clearly been very well maintained and looked after. Highly highly recommend this gorgeous cottage, thank you Mary!

Hook Norton is one of the largest villages in the area, with its deep orange, iron stone buildings and wonderful location at the edge of the Cotswolds. It boasts three pubs - The Sun Inn, The Pear Tree and The Gate Hangs High - and benefits from a large well-stocked village shop, butcher, hairdresser, doctor and dentist. The village is also home to the award-winning Hook Norton brewery, where beer has been crafted for over 170 years. Approximately 15 minutes walk from Orchard Road, the brewery hosts many social events throughout the year, along with regular brewery tours and an open tap night every month. It has its own brewery shop - offering a large range of beers, wines and spirits - and also serves delicious breakfasts and lunches 7 days a week in its Malthouse Kitchen. All three pubs in the village are open all day every day, and offer extensive food menus - The Sun and The Gate Hangs High both having separate restaurant areas. The village shop is well stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, newspapers, beers, wines & spirits. The village Post Office is also housed within the shop which is open till 8pm Monday to Saturday and 6pm on Sundays. Hook Norton lies just outside Chipping Norton - often described as the gateway to the Cotswolds and a bustling market town offering a broad range of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and its original open market on Wednesdays. The town also boasts its own theatre and is home to several annual festivals including the Chipping Norton Music Festival in March and internationally-renown Chipping Norton Literary Festival in April. Other major events in the area include festivals at Cropredy, Blenheim, Cornbury, Wilderness and the Big Feastival near Kingham. The annual Cheltenham race festival takes place in March and is well within reach - as is the Cheltenham Literary Festival and a huge number of annual events in and around Oxford and Stratford-Upon-Avon. The village also has its own museum based in the brewery building and is just a short distance away from the Rollright Stones - a collection of megalithic stone monuments comprising the Whispering Knights dolmen, the King's Men stone circle and the King's Stone - the earliest of which is over a thousand years older the Stonehenge.

  • Stying at Nigels place was a fantatic experience. He is a wonderful guy with quick communication and has the perfect place to stay for discovering his area. Check in was a breeze, the apartment is private and has all you need, with clear instructions on how to use everything and the breakfast is a lovely touch. As the apartment is attached to the house, Nigel is right there to answer any questions you have. Its a very modern and comfortable space and is perfect for a single traveller or couple. I had friends staying at Soho Farmhouse and it was only a 15 minute drive through the cute towns and countryside to head over each day. I highly reccomend Nigels place, you wont be dissapointed.

  • A great property in a lovely location. Nigel and Stephanie are the perfect hosts, on hand if you need anything yet discrete and respectful of your space. They also recommended a great pub in the village that serves delicious food and good local beer. The property looked great on the website, it's even better in person, beautifully designed with some great homely touches. Highly recommended!

Settle into country life in our refurbished Farmhouse. Your bedroom has rustic country decor with vintage furniture, an amazingly comfortable emperor bed plus double aspect views over the surrounding village. Your room HAS ITS OWN ENTRANCE and is completely separate to our living areas.
Our farmhouse has a magical garden and views. Balscote is a ‘chocolate box’ village (or as one kiddy wink said, ‘its exactly like my fairy garden’) close to lots of local hotspots. We are a 10min drive from the centre of Banbury but you will feel like you are in the middle of no where in our sleepy little village. My husband and I live here with our two kids 5 & 7years old but don’t worry we use the other side of the house so you won’t hear us.. too much. They sleep between 8pm - 7am so it’s definitely quiet then but we are happy for you to make noise (My kids will sleep through anything). We moved here, from london, a couple of years ago so can give advice on what’s happening or recommendations for anything you might like to do.
Balscote is a sleepy village with a local pub, park and a lovely old church. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area if relaxing/sleeping/walking is not high on your agenda. Please note: the closest shop is in 10min away in Banbury or Bloxham so come prepared.
  • Great place to stay, bed is as massive as described. Cinnamon was a great host with lots of local tips sent beforehand. Enjoyed the friendly local pub nearby.

  • This is absolutely one of the most memorable hamlets we have ever stayed in, it is absolutely gorgeous and you should not miss the opportunity to stay here. Cinnamon is a wonderful gracious friendly hostess, and her home is an absolutely fabulous old country home with a beautiful back garden, a lovely view and the biggest bed I have ever had the pleasure to sleep in, the bathroom is enormous and the shower huge too. The home is the quintessential crooked old English house with uneven floors and tiny doors, (watch your head coming out of the bathroom) . If you are looking for the real British experience make your reservation right now, you will not be disappointed.

  • A delightful hideaway farm house in a beautiful North Cotswolds village. Cinnamon went above and beyond in making sure I had a wonderful stay. Best kept secret in the area!

  • Cin was very helpful and made checking in / out very easy. The space is decorated nicely and was perfect for what we needed. Although it is part of the house, the separate entrance gives you plenty of privacy. Thanks again Cin!

  • Cinnamon’s place is an absolute gem.....it was so lovely we stayed an extra night and would have loved to stay longer !! The bed is amazing, the decor is stylish, you have total privacy but Cinnamon is only a text message away if you need anything. We loved walking around the village, so much to see, so much history and the locals are so friendly. We had dinner at the local pub on Friday night and it was probably the highlight of our past few weeks in England!! The food was great but the company was amazing and we met the nicest people . All I can say is do not hesitate, book the room at Cinnamon’s and I can guarantee you will love it!!

A newly built Shepherds Hut in an AONB in the Cotswolds. A small but beautifully formed space with full ensuite shower room and loo. There is a TV, the wifi doesn't quite reach the hut but is available in the garden. Fab views and great for walking or visiting local beauty spots. There is a kettle to make tea or coffee but no cooking facilities. Towels and linen provided. Not suitable for children or pets. There are steps up to the Hut so please consider this too.
We have added heating inside the hut for the chilly evenings and also a fire pit on the terrace if you wish to sit out and admire the view and/or the stars!! Please note that the fire is not available if it is windy as we have neighbours with thatched roofs.
Great for visiting Bicester Village outlets, Woodstock and Blenheim, Stow, Stratford, Chipping Camden, Daylesford, Moreton in Marsh, Oxford. Great walks around the village.
  • A little gem of a place! The Shepherd’s hut is close enough to the hosts’ home that it’s easy to ask for anything...but completely secluded with a beautiful view and very comfortable bed.

  • A great little private hideaway. Jackie was very speedy to respond to messages. Thank you!

  • This is a great little find and really quirky. If you want a quiet place to just chill and enjoy the company of someone special without interruption then give this little space a try. We stayed in November and it was perfectly comfortable inside. There is a two-person seat outside that would have be great to just sit and look at the scenery but we were unlucky with the weather. Jackie was lovely and very helpful. We loved the lemon drizzle cakes left us upon arrival.

  • We had an enjoyable stay in The Old Rectory Coach House, Wroxton. The property was spotlessly clean and very well presented. Check-in was straightforward and communication with the host - Iola - was excellent. It is a studio apartment and therefore quite small, but the bathroom was just right with a really nice shower and the bed was big, cosy and very comfortable. The location is ideal for exploring The Cotswolds and the village of Wroxton is absolutely beautiful.

  • A lovely little retreat which is furnished to a high standard. A very peaceful and relaxing setting in a beautiful village. We had a wonderful stay and an extra bonus was the fantastic weather. Thanks for supplying the coal for the bbq which we put to good use! Thanks Iola for sharing your beautiful retreat.

  • What a fantastic place to stay. Iola was an incredible host, she really put her heart into this beautiful space. So many little touches made it that much better. The local area is lovely and there's a great Indian restaurant 3 minutes down the road. I would love to stay here again. Highly recommend. Thank you!
