Eckernförde with its many small shops and beautiful city beach can be reached in 20 minutes by car. The landscape of the Danish Wohld invites you to hike and cycle and offers numerous excursion possibilities.

The Garden House

Visit one of Denmark's most popular islands and stay in a luxurious half-timbering house with an impressive fireplace. The house is hidden in one of the old gardens in the center of Ærøskøbing, 2 minutes walk from the ferry. Surrounded by your own quiet garden with two private terrasses. In recent years, we have lovingly handcrafted a vacation apartment (60 m2) from the former classroom wing of the "Grot School", where the "groten" (big) students had their classroom. A light-flooded large eat-in kitchen forms the center of the stylish apartment. Centrally but rurally located, 15 minutes by car to the Kiel center, 25 minutes to the beach. Paddle on Eider & Westensee, hike in the nature park!

Cute little thatched cottage apartment

The 65 m² flat is located on the upper floor of my thatched roof house from 1837, which I lovingly renovated myself. Here you can totally relax or explore the beautiful area. Eckernförde is just 6 km away, and Kiel, Flensburg and the Schlei are also within easy reach. Unfortunately, there is hardly any public transport here. You are welcome to use the beach chair in the garden. If you bring bicycles, you can store them in the woodshed.
