Places to stay in Llanymynech
Rose Cottage is a stone built property built around 1830. The floors upstairs are all planked Elm and the downstairs areas are Flagstone flooring. The beamed ceilings and inglenook mean the property exudes character but with all the mod cons, including high speed internet. The cottage was recently upgraded with a Hand- painted kitchen with built in Dishwasher and fridge. Work surfaces are Kashmir white granite. The front garden is quite private & the bench is a perfect spot for a cup of tea.
We have made a real effort to make our cottage special, the lounge is finished tastefully in coastal colours with seaside paintings and the master bedroom is decorated with an African wildlife theme and the twin second bedroom is decorated and finished in a British wildlife theme. The bathroom is downstairs through the utility area and has a full bathroom suite with shower over the bath. The utility area has a washing machine and a freezer. The stairs have a hand rail and at the top of the stairs is a safety rail between the bedrooms Please note that we can provide a travel cot, stair gates, and also a high chair for toddlers, however, for health and safety reasons we do not provide bedding for the cot. (please bring your own) Small and medium sized dogs are welcome, but please don't allow dogs upstairs. In front of Rose cottage there is a delightful cottage garden with a garden bench and the two access points into the cottage garden have gates to ensure pets and small children are safe..
The village is half in England and half in Wales. The village is well served with pubs and has an excellent Indian restaurant. We never fail to visit "Bengal Spices" when we have a break in Rose cottage because it's simply one of the best we have ever found! If we are looking for fine dining though, we recommend you visit Shrewsbury which is 20 minutes by car.
  • We loved Rose Cottage! It was absolutely perfect. Great location, not too far from Shrewsbury if you fancied a trip and some lovely walks locally such as the Llanymynech Rocks Nature Reserve - some fantastic views! Great communication from Steve and Bev considering we booked the evening before. Would absolutely recommend.

  • Wow what a fabulous cottage! We enjoyed 3 nights at Rose Cottage. It is so well equipped everything we needed was there. We enjoyed how cosy it was & especially loved the fire. It is beautifully decorated, we could have stayed much longer. It also has every takeaway available practically on the doorstep much to our kids delight. Would highly recommend.

  • Peaceful and relaxing three night break seeing us in to the new year. Ideal for a small family with a pub and park less then 100 yards away. Cottage was very clean and had all the amenities needed to cook. Bev was very helpful with getting the high chair & baby gate set up for our 1 year old. She also called aorund to check we were ok and gave us some helpful information on the local area which was appreciated. Highly recommended and will consider returning in the future.

  • Lovely chalet in a great location, about 20 minutes away from attractions such as Powis Castle or Pistyll Rheadr. Check in was very easy, Cheryl messaged well in advance to ensure everything goes smoothly and communication was great. The place was immaculate, equipped with pretty much everything needed to feel at home (fully equipped kitchen including oven, pots, pans and all sorts of cooking utensils, iron, toiletries, clean towels plus some extra), plus a few thoughtful touches such as a few blankets, milk, tea and coffee and biscuits. The park is very peaceful and it has a small shop at the entrance which is very convenient. Can be used as a hub for exploring Wales, or you can enjoy the fabulous surroundings, go for walks alongside the river and enjoy the wildlife. It is difficult to put it into words how amazing the place is, both the chalet and the surroundings exceeded our expectations. Thank you Cheryl for a lovely stay, will definitely return!

Small basic barn simply eco-converted with wood burner (wood extra) within a smallholding. Beautiful cliff views. Use of basic communal toilet, shower and kitchen around a small grass yard area with picnic tables. Limited facilities within the room.
Underhill Farm is an eco-venue within a beautiful location providing simple, basic accommodation, in an unusual wildlife rich and tranquil setting. The smallholding is managed for wildlife and is literally right on the Wales England border and beside a beautiful nature reserve, limestone cliffs and a heritage ancient monument. Its a short walk from village shops, cafes, takeaways, pubs and other amenities. Yet, despite its location, it is quiet and has a rural feel with almost no noise (except from the peregrines!) which surprises even our local visitors. All our accomodation is simple and basic, but comfortable. We try as far as possible to give people the opportunity to experience rural tranquillity and be 'closer to nature'. Our farm has been brought back to life with major renovation which has taken place since 2009. We try to create an eco-venue, following ecological principles and much of our renovation uses recycled materials. For example, our unusual shower (for communal use) is made from a recycled off cut water pipe. This makes it bespoke and unusual, whilst simple and yet with basic comforts. This not about glamping, its about being in a place which values the natural world and gives lots of unique opportunities to experience it. We can also provide opportunities for bespoke group bookings for guided activities and training in outdoor activities, rural and natural crafts. Please take a look at our website to get more of a feel of the place (URL HIDDEN)
There is a huge amount to do within walking distance of the farm including: walks; horseriding; wildlife hunting; fossil hunting; cycling; mountain biking; canoeing; rock climbing; caving and much more. We are able to also organise bespoke courses and activities for groups or when people book in sufficient numbers. Please see our website for more details (URL HIDDEN)

The annexe is situated next to our home with its own private access so you can be completely independent. It’s in the small village of Four Crosses near the England/Wales border and can sleep five people in two bedrooms, one king-size double and one family room comprising three single beds. The ground floor has an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and a gravelled patio with garden furniture.
We are in a semi rural location and there are views across to the Breidden Hills and Rodney's Pillar. There are two garages with well stocked shops selling local produce within walking distance and it's a ten minute walk to the local pub. There are a number of walks in the area including Offa's Dyke, the Severn Way and Llanymynech Hill and quiet lanes and roads for cycling nearby.
  • A beautiful place to stay, well-equipped, spotlessly clean and cosy home. It had everything we needed and the little touches of tea, coffee, cookies, milk and wine were so thoughtful. Nothing was too much trouble for Jonathan and he really had thought of everything!

  • Excellent accommodation and even better value for money. I stayed for a week with a colleague whilst working in Shrewsbury and this place offers everything a family or working person needs for a trip away. It was warm, clean, well equipped, easy to access and park, Wi-fi, cooking facilities, TV etc etc I would definitely re book next time I am working in the area. What a great host and great value accommodation.

  • Jonathan was a great host and his place was lovely, we had a great time while we were there and the location was brilliant for exploring different places. Would thoroughly recommend.

    Susan2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan's place was so comfortable and great value, it's hard to think how it could be better. There were lots of little helpful treats like toiletries etc and Jonathan was friendly and easy to contact whilst still giving us our own space. Thank you for a great stay, we certainly hope to come back.

    Madeleine2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed my stay, felt at home here and had everything I needed, would definitely stay here again.

    Dhillon2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as pictures show. In a great location and Jonathan has compiled a folder with lots of useful info for the area. There is some traffic noise but did nor bother us, if you are a light sleeper consider earplugs. Jonathan is available for questions or emergencies. We cooked every night, electric cooker and hotplates, toaster, kettle and microwave. Dish washing liquid and washing powder provided. Nice touch on arrival was the tea, coffee, biscuits, breakfast cereal and milk in fridge. Only drawback for my husband was the shower. He is tall and found it small. I'm 5ft 6 and it was ok for me. Would stay again.

  • Severnside Annex is a lovely house in a stunning location. The family is warm and welcoming and we really loved it there. Shops are available in both Four Crosses and Llandrinio which have almost everything you need. There is a lovely children’s playground in Llandrinio and amazing walks nearby. We definitely recommend staying here.

My new listing is a beautifully converted shepherds hut in a Morrocan theme. The views are outstanding and include Rodney’s Pillar and the Berwyn mountains. The historic St Winifred’s well is a 2 minute walk down the lane which also leads on to the Shropshire Union canal. There are plenty of walks to the local pubs and canal side cafe. A stable that has been converted into a bathroom and kitchen/dining area which is all brand new. Hidden behind the stable is a hot tub looking at the fab views
This quirky hut gives you amazing views with a private area that you won’t want to leave. It’s close to Rodney’s Pillar, Llanrhaedre Waterfall, offa’s Dyke path, Lake Vyrnwy and many more scenic locations ( just ask). Oswestry in 5 mins in the car, Shrewsbury 15mins, Wrexham 25 mins & Chester just 40 mins away.. that’s if you want to leave this tranquil spot!
Close to the canal and St Winifred’s well
  • Absolutely lovely shepherds hut. It’s so cosy and really warm (even in windy March). Michelle provided lots of extra blankets too. The hot tub was amazing.. don’t forget to take flip flops though. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore.. it even had all the kitchen utensils and pots/pans you could need. Would love to return in the summer!

We bought out cockerpoo dog with us and there were plenty of walks around and she was safe to be let free outside the cabin. I would highly recommend! Thanks so much Michelle :)

The Garden Lodge is close to the stunning Welsh Mountains, 3 miles from the market town of Oswestry and 18 miles from Shrewsbury. We are approx 30 min drive from Lake Vyrnwy. You’ll love my place because it sits within its own private secluded garden. I live within the grounds and are very willing to give you any help or advise that you might need. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.

Everything we needed was available at the beautiful garden lodge, and Wilson especially loved playing in the stream that ran through the garden. Communication with Trish and Steve was excellent, and we would 100% like to stay again (the fruit cake was an awesome added bonus). Thanks again

  • Well equipped, comfortable and cosy place to stay with a lovely garden. Great safe space for our dog, with a lovely stream running through it which she enjoyed wading in and drinking as it was very hot weather while we were there. Sunshine in the garden all day and a BBQ with charcoal was available which was fantastic. Well placed for trips into the Welsh hills and we had a lovely walk from the house taking in the beautiful Offa's dyke path and a pretty semi-derelict canal. The local pub, The White Lion, was friendly and we had a good meal there. Trisha and Steve were very helpful and their dog was adorable! Thanks!

Our tastefully decorated double en-suite room is private and separate from the house (above our car port). It's a great bolthole for single travellers, couples or small families who want to enjoy a very rural, relaxing location on the Powys/Shropshire border. NOTE; we have had a extension built at the back of the main property. This does not effect the loft area, parking etc but our garden landscaping will not be completed until March 2020
Our loft is spacious and peaceful with a double bed, seating for two and en-suite with power shower. We provide luxurious toiletries, cotton sheets, fluffy towels, hair dryer, Wi-Fi, Sat TV, fridge, hot drink facilities, snacks and plenty of reading material will be found in your room. There is also room for a travel cot or small airbed if you have a little people with you.
We live in a beautiful part of hilly Mid Wales, but other than the sound of wild birds or an occasional tractor driving past it is a very tranquil place, yet only a stones throw away from lots of great local tourist spots and Welshpool, Oswestry & Shrewsbury Town.
  • We wanted a quiet getaway for the weekend and that's exactly what we got. The loft was warm and cosy despite a storm raging outside and in two rooms you had everything you needed. Emma was very helpful when it came to finding the place and communication throughout was good. Highly recommended if you want some peace and quiet!

Welcome to your private double pod escape, two pods for the price of one! With access to both the Landpod Cosy Cocoon, and the larger Landpod Podfather, this unique retreat perchs on it's own secluded slope which offers sunset views across the rolling Welsh hills and countryside.
At the Hideaway, you will have access to both the Landpod Cosy Cocoon and the Landpod Podfather. Cosy Cocoon (sleeps 2) This quirky elevated glamping pod is the perfect snug escape. With a double floor mattress, woodland bedding and dimmable inbuilt lighting this pod is perfect for adventurous souls who don't want to compromise on comfort. Weather-permitting, the rollable sides allow the pod to be transformed into a sun trap by day or a stargazing vista by night. The Podfather (sleeps 3) You will also have the added bonus of the Podfather. This larger pod is set up as a spacious seating area for getting closer to nature. This pod transforms by night with two comfortable futon sofas which unfold into a double and single mattress. The beanbag and quirky coffee table mean it's a picnic, sleepover, wild adventure kinda pod. As well as both pods, your secluded retreat also features a mini woodburning chiminea, a gas camp stove and basic cooking equipment. Disposable BBQs are welcomed. Logs and kindling for the chiminea are available to purchase upon request. Cutlery, crockery and bedding are provided, but please bring your own towels. An off-grid battery pack is provided in each pod to allow you to recharge phones and devices. A private entrance to the nearby cottage allows access to a shared shower room and bathroom. Comprising a shower, sink and toilet. By night, decorative solar lights illuminate the area around the pod and mark the steps.
Within walking distance of the Hideaway are the villages of Llansantffraid (1 mile) and Llanfechain (2.5 miles), as well as the site of a Roman Welsh hillfort (<1 mile). Additional local walks can be recommended. Local attractions include the historic Offa's Dyke (3 miles), Pistyll Rhaeder, the UK's largest waterfall (20 min drive), and Lake Vyrnwy (20 min drive). Additional local attractions can be recommended. Llansantffraid offers two pubs, a fish and chip shop, an Indian restaurant and a café serving breakfast. There are also a couple of local shops and a petrol station should you need any essentials.
  • Linda was a lovely host, we stayed for a 21st birthday and she had set up decorations for our arrival! She offered cups of tea and any other help that we needed! The pods were very clean, cosy and unique! Will definitely be looking at going back to visit in the summer season, amazing experience!

    Jemima2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing host, amazing space, can’t wait to go back in the summer, Linda is so lovely, also the station pub just down the road does amazing food! Thank you so much Linda! X

    Alex2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was such a lovely host. Her little bag of goodies on arrival & sweet card were just so thoughtful. Plus the pre-communication with Will was very efficient. Would highly recommend!

    Aimée2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Booked the pods for a weekend away. What a fantastic setup! The pods are very comfy with plenty of space to chill out, the fairy lights are a nice touch. We were surprised at how well insulated the pods are, they kept us very toasty and would definitely consider going again in the colder months. Outside there is a fully equipped cooking area with amazing views across the valley and we loved sitting out round the fire pit at night. Linda is an amazing host! She gave us lots of information for the local area with things to do and places to eat, and also ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. - Thank-you!!

    Ben2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Linda welcomed us and was such a lovely host and person, from the minute we pulled onto the drive and seeing the steps up through the trees to the pods it had a magical charm for the children, the pods are very comfortable the larger one with pull out cushion sofas and a large comfy mattress in the smaller pod, both had mobile battery packs with two charging ports on them and there were also dimmable internal lights(loved the personal touch of the welcome pack with some little goodies and a card),outside there are lots of solar lights spread out in the garden which look great when they are all lit up at nightime their is also a fire pit that you can purchase logs and firelighters from Linda at the cottage for a small fee(would advise taking a lighter and fluid for adverse weather conditions)there is also a storage box with a gas stove and pots, pans, cups, cutlery. We drove down to the local village for a nice meal at a restaraunt called the station grill but there is a spar, chip shop and Indian nearby. Overall It was a unique magical experience with lovely friendly hosts, we look forward returning again Thanks Linda

    Mark2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • A return visit to the pods and we were not disappointed. Fantastic space which the kids loved. Linda was amazing as always. We will be back in the future.

    Lucy2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend. A very unique experience and great fun. We travelled as a family of 4, our 2 boys (age 9 and 11) thought it was amazing! Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The pods were warm and comfortable, we all had a great night sleep. Lovely Hosts who were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the short walk down to the village and had a lovely meal. Great value for money in a lovely part of Wales.

    Gemma2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place and host! We had such a nice time on our motorcycle trip around Wales but when we arrived for our stay at the pods everything just got better. As soon as you get to this place it looks and feels magical. We even had a chance to toast some marshmallows on the fire and what a GREAT night sleep at the Pods. I would recommend to try this place to anyone! Thanks again Linda!

This self catering apartment is on the first floor of our converted barn, a cosy retreat. Perfect for a weekend getaway with your partner, or as a bolt hole from which to explore. We live next door in the Penybont Inn. We are the village pub serving the busy local farming community. Open from 6pm on weekdays and 1pm on weekends so there is no risk of a disturbed and well deserved lie in! Due to the layout and access to the flat, it is unsuitable for young children.
With your own private balcony. You can enjoy the views of the valley or the stars. Only 60 paces away from the pub bar via your own private gateway!
Set in the Tanat Valley with 12 miles of meandering river 50 feet below the pub, a lovely part of the world with unspoilt night skies and plenty of places to explore by foot, car or bus (we have our own bus stop)
  • Amazing! Love this place so much :) sara and jim are lovely friendly people, considerate with a cosy pub right next to the accomodation. They have a lovely dog in the pub :) this was out second time staying here and hope to stay again soon

The cottage overlooks an award winning organic farm, so there are animals to meet and walks to be had right on the doorstep. Return each evening to your relaxing little nook, just enough room for four with a charming vaulted living space warmed by a wood-burner. An open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area that lets in lots of light. A large master bedroom and en-suite on the first floor and small double room and bathroom on the ground floor.
Located on an award winning organic beef, sheep and arable farm.
A stunning rural valley in Mid Wales. The nearest village is 3 miles away in Llansantffraid. The cottages are located in near the Powys, Shropshire border.
  • Very nice cottage in very rural location - ideally suited to our needs for a short stay.

  • A beautiful, clean cottage with two luxurious bathrooms, in stunning rural surroundings. A very relaxing base to explore mid Wales. We cycled along the Welshpool to Newtown canal and visited Glansevern Gardens. Christine and her Husband were perfect Hosts, happy to help when required but unobtrusive. My Husband enjoyed hearing about the history of Collfryn farm.

    Karen2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay either on your own, with family or anyone looking for groups of family of friends, a little remote but ideal for peace and quiet.

    Sharon2019-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage nestled in the middle of heaven. The area is lovely. We chose it because we were visiting family but we would now come to stay in its own right. Although there are a couple of interesting local tourist spots (the lake/water reservoir and the waterfall for instance), you may as well just stay here for the amazing surrounding countryside. Absolutely gorgeous, to walk, run or cycle around. The cottage is part of a number of cottages in a C shaped building with a green area in the middle. When I arrived I thought, ohh I wasn't expecting the neighbours. But, as it happened, even though the other three cottages were taken, there's enough privacy and you don't even feel the presence of the others. Also, this is a working farm and the famer was kind enough to show us around the farm where some sheep were about to lamb. Comfy beds, the most spacious bathrooms, and bonus point for the BBQ and the little patio at the back for our breakfast. All in all, a wonderful weekend, not least because we had the most unseasonable warm and sunny weather.

    Bea2019-04-22T00:00:00Z

With stunning views of the Shropshire plains the room has its own access via patio door and has an outside private seating {covered} area to enjoy the views. Breakfast is provided with a kettle, fridge & toaster. The area is very tranquil and an ideal stay if you enjoy country walks and beautiful scenery close to Offa's Dyke path. My husband and I have a lot of free time so hopefully our paths will cross and we'll have chance to get acquainted.
Situated in the beautiful friendly village of Trefonen with a village shop/post office and the local pub just a short walk away serving excellent food. Only a stones throw from the famous Offa's Dyke path. 2 miles from the market town of Oswestry and around 20 miles from historic Shrewsbury the county town of Shropshire, also the City of Chester is a half-hour car journey away. The rolling patchwork hills of Wales are also a very short stroll away.
  • The room and bathroom were lovely, spotlessly clean and perfectly located for our walk on the Offas Dyke. Check in was straightforward and the hosts were delightful, helpful and very hospitable. I highly recommend this accommodation.

    Debbie2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The room was immaculate, well located and thought out. There was a large array of amenities on offer for breakfast and snacks/drinks. Rhian was a fantastic host I definitely would recommend this stay!

    Archie2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • The views really are stunning, and the room is nicely-appointed; and after 12 miles on the Offa’s Dyke path we appreciated the deep bath! Rhian gave us a lovely welcome (including tea and scones), and the place was perfect. The lane is quiet, and we enjoyed a great dinner at the Barley Mow a short walk away. The place was ideal for our purposes in every way.

  • Nice place, super clean, surprisingly quiet and a beautiful outside space. Just fine for four people. Only issue was a few cooking basics were missing, the host found some alternatives for us but might be worth picking up some things on your way as there aren’t any shops nearby! Would definitely stay again.

  • Beautiful place and in the midst of stunning countryside

  • The Dairy is situated at a farm down windy country lanes, with rolling hills and open spaces around. The cottage itself is very spacious with large rooms and an open living room with lots of natural light. The kitchen is well equipped with stove, oven, fridge, freezer and microwave. We stayed 5 adult and a toddler for 3 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay -- very much recommended!

We are close to the Welsh border in north-west Shropshire, with sheep, chickens, giant slide and 90 acres of parkland and plantations. We are the eighth generation in this 17th century timber-framed farmhouse which is full of history. We are near Shrewsbury, Llangollen and plenty of Welsh castles and hills. The main spare bedroom has a king-size double bed. Second spare room has a double bed. Shared family bathroom. New indoor hot tub is available for pampering aching limbs.
We are unpretentious, rather simple e.g. no central heating, traditional farm kitchen and wood stoves. Large unruly garden and veg area, large open field in front with ancient oak tree. Much history, malt-house being restored, and garden room with adjoining bathhouse with hot tub. Wonderful walks in Welsh and south Shropshire hills nearby and Lake Vyrnwy and along the nearby river Vyrnwy, Powis and Chirk Castles and many other attractions. Welsh coast one hour through sublime hills. Part of wider family farm often drowned by floods. Local pubs and Oswestry and Welshpool nearish for all facilities. Welsh language nearby. Horse riding near but not on farm, 30ft tower slide and swing for children, dens and tree climbing in plantations. Non pretentious in the extreme (cold comfort in fact, best avoided by those with allergies to mud, spiders etc). We are retired school doctor and accountant with three daughters and two granddaughters in Cambridge. Registered foster carers in the past for baby sitting duties if agreed. Many games in garden and malthouse e.g. table footy, shove halfpenny, kubbs and croquet on front lawn if not too wet.
The west Shropshire accent, the unpretentiousness and accessibility to many amazing places in mid-Wales and Shropshire and walks from the house too. See maps. A local pub in Maesbrook and parish Anglican Church. Nearby famous Melverley wooden church overlooking the river Vyrnwy, and the Breidden hills which rise abruptly from the plain. Oh we have two canoes which guests can use to canoe the many miles of winding rivers here if they wish. Also bikes for several in decent nick usually.
  • A beautiful home in gorgeous surroundings. The hosts are friendly, interesting and interested in their guests.

    Margy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fab old property. Don’t expect modern furniture and fittings but a great experience and lovely hosts.

  • A very interesting and historical house set in beautiful surroundings. Sally and Charles made us very welcome. They were the perfect hosts.

    Jill2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sally and Charles were a wonderfully friendly and helpful couple who made me and my children feel must welcome. Unfortunately the weather was dreadful so we didn't get to makexperience full use of the beautiful grounds . oh and the breakfast was pretty amazing too 😀

    Sue2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • unique space

    Jimmy2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very hospitable and child-friendly. We had a fascinating tour of some of the grounds and buildings and Sally even gave our boys a lesson in how to spin wool!

    Beth2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sally is a real English farm as there is little left. A real house too, not an artificial decor. And the welcome is also "old fashioned", friendly and open. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a real place, the exact opposite of an anonymous room. Of course everything is old (but comfortable) and that's all the charm. Sheep (shetland) in the meadow, chickens in the back yard (breakfast eggs ...) and oak in the garden that defies time. Okay, I'll stop there, you'll see for yourself.

    Jean-François2019-08-06T00:00:00Z

  • Such a wonderful place to stay with so many thoughtful touches, third time stopping at this Airbnb! It’s a great base when visiting mid Wales.

    Adell2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This a fabulous place to stay, especially if you’re walking Offa’s Dyke as its right on the path. I found the place immaculately clean with a lot of home comforts and thoughtful touches. The breakfast supplies were a real treat along with everything you’d need in the bathroom (shower gel, shampoo etc). I met Phil & Linda in passing but it was clear they were on hand to help with anything if required. Their communication was spot on. The independent access of the room was ideal. I would recommend this place highly and would love to come again. Tree 🌳

    Kathleen2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This has to be one of the best bnb’s I have ever stopped at. The room was stylish and clean. Not to mention the generous amounts of food which was available! Would fully recommend as it isn’t too far away from Oswestry and it’s the perfect place to stay.

    Adell2018-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely room, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There was a plentiful range of food for breakfast, a lovely touch.

    Cheryl2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was a little touch of luxury for us on our 2 week walk of the Offa’s Dyke path. Decent supply of breakfast bits, lovely bowl of fresh fruit, plentiful bathroom products in case you are travelling light and decent shower. Nice outdoor area for your sole use. Linda excellent to communicate with and very welcoming. Right next to Offa’s Dyke path in Trefonan. Barley Mow great pub just around the corner and we got our lunch from the village shop a few paces away the next morning for that day’s walking. Would definitely recommend this airBnb for a stop in Trefonen.

    Virginia2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Good communication before check in (even though we never saw them during our stay). We asked for sandwiches as packed lunch as we walk the Offa's Dyke Path, and they were waiting in the fridge. Small room but very clean and new. Beautiful views of the countryside.

  • Anya's place was great. Really convenient location for transport just off the A5. The house itself was very warming and she is a great host having layed out tea/coffee/kettle in the room. having my own personal shower was a bonus. Anyas knowledge of the area was really helpful as she was able to give me great instruction into local running locations that were safe. Two floors above a 19th century rural pub, serving local ales. A beautiful rustic property with the top floor offering plenty of character with a skylight view across the fields. Generally the pub is quiet with only the locals sampling the goods and closed by 10am, however events are held here and on occasions the pub can be quite busy and noisy.
The warmth and character of the Original Ball will leave you wanting to return, it has such a fabulous feel to it...
Maesbury is a very friendly village, it has beautiful countryside and close to canal walks
  • Michelle was very friendly and super responsive to messages which is great. The place itself is super clean and very cosy, comfy beds and had everything we needed! Would definitely recommend.

  • A clean, warm, welcoming & cosy yet very spacious flat with the perfect location for exploring the area. The owner is friendly & most helpful before & during the stay. The flat is directly above the pub & restaurant which we regretfully were not able to make use of on this visit but would be sure to try upon our return. Michelle kindly provided outdoor space for the children to play during our stay. You won't be disappointed with your stay here.

  • Lovely characterful little property in a beautiful location. Michelle made sure we had everything we needed and we didn't experience any disturbance from the pub downstairs. The bedrooms are quite open plan but it was perfect for us and two of the rooms are rather more private rooms if any guests have young children (as some of us did). Wonderful trip and we would definitely consider staying again

  • A lovely peaceful and cosy accommodation ideally situated for us to visit family nearby. We loved the magical fairy lights as we drove up, and the annexe was perfect for our family of five - it had everything we needed, and we settled straight in. Beautiful cottage garden with a nice, tranquil seating area. The kids loved playing in the field. On leaving, we forgot to pack our daughter’s bunny comforter, and Annette very kindly posted it back to us, much to the delight of our daughter! Thank you, Annette, we hope to see you soon.

    Claire2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful setting, peaceful and tranquil. Waking up to the sound of birds singing made it even more peaceful. No road noise at all. Beautiful gardens too. Well maintained and very clean around the area of the house and annexe. The Annexe is beautiful and clean. Annette was very helpful and caring , we were staying there as our son was having surgery at RJAH orthopaedic hospital hospital(20mins away). The little touches like cereal, bread, milk, eggs and other goodies left for us was a lovely gesture. Thank you Annette for a lovely 5 nights. I fifnt want to leave. We will be back to stay, under better circumstances. X

The house is clean and tidy you have a kitchen with everything you need to cook (we brought our own food) and there is a garden in the back with bbq ,table and chairs . Dick and June are very nice and if you need any help or a recommendation for a place to go they are very helpful and they know the area very well. There are few animals around and our boys love them. Definitely is a place where we want to go back and spend a few more days again.

  • We had an amazing time at the hobbit house! It’s such a quirky place to stay! We stayed as 2 couples for a night away and had so many options for the evening! We were directed to the nearest pubs, recommended walks and shown around the amazing site! We were spoilt for choice and also really wanted to spend time around the house as it was so different! On arrival we were left some welsh cakes and a sample of the local apples to try! Debbie and Seb couldn’t of been more helpful! The fires in the hobbit house made it so cosy and kept us all plenty warm enough! We have already decided that we would love to go back for another stay!!! A massive thank you and we can’t recommend the hobbit house enough! Everyone we met at the site went above and beyond to help us out and make us feel welcome!

  • Although located near the street, it was quiet and i slept well. Big enough room with comfy bed. Had a good talk with Tony in his big kitchen in which you can chill and eat. The Bathroom is quite large and there are a lot of towels. Overall i enjoyed my stay

The cottage nestles into a working organic farm, so there are animals to seen and walks to be had. A charming vaulted living space warmed by a wood-burner and a kitchen that’s ample for simple meals around the long wooden table. Bring friends, family and the dog. Cycle or hike the footpaths or hop in the car to visit many attractions nearby such as Lake Vyrnwy, Powis Castle, Welshpool and Llanfair Railway and the coast is also only an hours drive.
Cottage has it's own patio area onto a large communal garden and orchard. Large open pond in the grounds. Shared laundry with washing machine and dryer.
Peaceful, rural location set in a valley in Mid Wales. Set in an organic working farm.
  • A very cosy and comfortable house. We had a lovely Christmas stay and appreciated the Christmas tree. We loved the kitchen/lounge - great for a sociable holiday. Beds very comfortable, water always hot. Thank you very much for a great few days.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Mill Barn, it was so cosy to come back to after walking in the gorgeous scenery nearby. The barn had everything we needed and the beds were so comfortable! Would recommend to anyone looking for an escape to the Welsh countryside.
