Daisy Lodge is set in the garden of our beautiful country home, see location photo for proximity to our home. We are 3.2 miles from the wonderful market town of Abergavenny, gateway to the Beacons National Park. We have amazing views of Skirrid Mountain and countryside. You can roam freely around our 5 acres of land/garden,which in summer benefits from a flower meadow. We supply outside furniture and sole use of our external hot tub, all year around, a disclaimer to be signed prior to use.
Please do not ask for less than a 2 night stay as it's not possible to accommodate this request. We offer storage for cycles, we can lend you maps and give personal knowledge of the local bike parks and activities in the area. Daisy Lodge is a beautiful 1-bedroom bespoke, ecological building, which is energy efficient and produced in Lapland, Finland. The property benefits private access, off road parking and is finished to 5* standard, with the use of a hot-tub all year round, providing a waiver has been signed. We have installed a brand new and improved hot tub for 2019. Please do NOT adjust the settings on the hot-tub or move or close any of the jets. We provide designer bedding, bath robes, smart TV, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble Dryer, luxury shower, mobile reception for most providers and breath-taking views. We also provide an external sink to clean boots and a boot rack, and deck shoes if required. There is also a bioethanol fire, we provide the first bottle of fuel if you require more you will need to purchase prior to your arrival, as no local stockists.
We are very lucky to be located next to a working farm and so we have Cows, sheep and horses as part of our everyday scenery.
  • If this place isn't booked up you'll be lucky. And there is a reason for that......its very, very nice. Modern and sleek but cosy and peaceful. In the middle of beautiful countryside, its so relaxing. Very clean, comfy with milk and butter in the fridge upon arrival and a cute little bottle of prosecco, all nice touches. So book if you can, you won't regret it.

  • We booked Daisy Lodge for a little weekend getaway and had a wonderful time there. I can only recommend it. The lodge was spot clean and we had everything what we needed.

  • Claire's place is as beautiful, if not better than the photos. The interior is modern, spacious and very comfortable. They are located amongst fabulous scenery (and down the road to a michelin star restaurant!) and our stay was very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the hot water was not working for the first evening/morning of our stay, but the hosts made up for it with it being fixed fast and a half-day extension to the end of our stay.

    Ben2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent accommodation, super hosts, beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

    Helen2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation is done to a very high standard, to the extent we enjoyed staying in more than going out. Both hosts were helpful and attentive and made our stay special. Thank you.

    Kate2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I will definitely be coming back as this place is a little cozy gem. Close to a lot of attractions or just a good place to relax.

    Wynter2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful accommodation in a gorgeous setting. The lodge was stylish and spotless with all of the lovely extra touches you could ask for. There wasn’t a thing we needed that Claire & Justin hadn’t thought to supply. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. Would definitely recommend!

    Kayleigh2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time, Claire and Justin were great hosts and the hot tub was an extra special treat. I would definitely reccomend daisy lodge for a romantic get away.

A newly renovated cottage in the grounds of a country house close to Abergavenny & the beautiful Black Mountains. Stylishly designed, it retains the stone walls, beams & arched windows of the coach house it once was. It's the perfect place to relax after a day in the Welsh countryside: There's a well equipped kitchen, a cosy wood burner (with a basket of logs & kindling), a smart TV, wifi, lots of books, 100% cotton bed linen, fluffy cotton towels & SenSpa bathroom products. Outside, the kitchen garden is a great place to chill & there's also a private courtyard right next to the cottage.
Court Cottage was once part of the stable yard of the country house to which it belongs. We have recently refurbished it - turning it into a lovely cottage that retains the original roof beams, stone walls, arched windows and doors. Outside, there is plenty of private space - including a pretty courtyard next to the main house, with a table and chairs. Guests can also use the South facing kitchen garden - where there's a bench that's a great place to read a book or take in the views of rolling countryside. There's space to store bikes under cover and an outside tap to wash down bikes, boots and wellies. Inside, you walk straight into the sitting room, which is open to the roof eaves. It has two comfy sofas piled with cushions, a wood burner for chillier days, a digital TV & DVD player, a selection of board games and lots of books & local guides. Through the old pine double doors is the cosy bedroom, with its large arched window and beamed ceiling. It has a king size bed with pure cotton bed linen and a blanket woven from local wool. The bedroom has plenty of hanging space and a chest of drawers (and lots of room under the bed for suitcases etc). There's a digital radio on one of the bedside tables, usb plug sockets and also a hair dryer. Next door is the stylish en-suite bathroom, with a roll-top bath and separate shower. White cotton towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap and shower gel are provided. There's a socket for electric toothbrushes or shavers. The kitchen leads off the sitting room. It has painted cupboards and a marble worktop, together with a kitchen table for two. There are two usb sockets near the table, making it perfect for working as well as eating. A large antique pine storage cupboard houses everything you'll need to cook up a feast (or microwave a ready meal...). There is a microwave, induction hob & oven, fridge with ice box, dishwasher and washing machine. Tea, instant coffee and sugar are provided - and there's also a cafetiere if you're a real coffee aficionado. There’s also salt & pepper and olive oil. We also provide a clothes drying rack, iron and ironing board as well as tea towels, washing powder, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. There is wifi throughout the cottage. There is central heating throughout & we also provide a first basket of logs & kindling for the wood burner.
Abergavenny, renowned both for its Food Festival and as the gateway to the Brecon Beacons & Black Mountains, is 4 miles away. There you'll find local shops, a really good butcher and bakery, as well as a great local cinema and some of the best restaurants in Wales. For wonderful walks & cycling, you're spoilt for choice: the Sugar Loaf & Skirrid mountains are very close by, as is the famous Offas Dyke Path.
  • It’s nothing that hasn’t been said before, but what a beautiful place. Quaint setting in a courtyard, peaceful, quiet and tastefully decorated. There’s also a huge stockpile of firewood to keep cosy. Absolutely recommend! (Maybe just take slippers in the colder months as the stone floor can feel cold!)

    Sophie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was absolutely beautiful. Well designed and incredibly tasteful. The location was very peaceful. I would highly recommend it and will definitely return.

    Helen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful stay at this stunning cottage. Perfect for us for our birthday weekend. Cosy, beautifully decorated with a luxurious feel.

    Lucy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cottage - spotless throughout with great bath and shower. Comfy bed and lovely linen. Had a nice time relaxing after walking the nearby peaks. Plenty of places to eat nearby or stock up on food for the cottage. Very easy to find. Thoughtful hosts. Would recommend.

    Penny2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely stay at Joanna's beautiful cottage. As the weather wasn't amazing, we mainly stayed in, and felt really at home doing so. There was plenty of wood for the fire provided, the kitchen was amazingly well equipped meaning we could spend lots of time cooking, and the entire place was just really comfortable and cosy. The bath and shower we're lovely - it was very hard to leave!

    Emily2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was beautiful, even better than it appears on the photos. Joanna was also a great host who was easy to get hold of should we need anything. Location-wise there were plenty of shops (Aldi, Waitrose) and restaurants about a 10minute drive away and the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking. There were a variety of local walks a short distance from the cottage, we drove a bit further afield into the Brecon Beacons national park to the four waterfalls walk which was about a 50-minute drive. I'd recommend this AirBnB and would happily come back.

    Greg2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Every detail well thought out and meticulously executed. A thoroughly wonderful place to stay in a beautiful part of the country andJoanna ensured we had everything we needed for a perfect trip.

    Ed2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed here for our first Christmas together and we cannot fault the airbnb or Joanna in any way. When we arrived, it was spotless, tidy and welcoming. She even sent us a message to ensure we had enough kitchen utensils to make our Christmas lunch the next day (we absolutely did, the kitchen is very well stocked!). It was a very special place to spend Christmas, and the grounds it's situated on are absolutely gorgeous. We went for a walk around the gardens and it was teeming with woodland wildlife (including the odd pheasant or two). Most importantly, it was absolutely silent! A perfect place to go if you want to get away from the city and hide away for a weekend, or ideally longer. This is an airbnb where the pictures really do not lie. I highly recommend booking a trip so you can see it for yourself. Worth every penny. Side note: my girlfriend accidentally left an item behind, and Joanna soon arranged for it to be sent back to us!

Just 10 minutes by car from Abergavenny but a peaceful country retreat. Simple, modern log cabin with open plan sitting/kitchen/dining with double sofa bed & a double bedroom and bathroom. Away from it all: 50 metres from the farmhouse, away from the road and screened by trees. There are board games, books, toys etc. Garden furniture for sitting out. Farm to wander over. Animals to see. Good places to eat out. Walking in the hills.
The cabin is in the back garden screened by trees from the house. It looks out over fields and gardens. There is one bedroom with a double bed and a sofa that turns into a good size double in the main living space. The kitchen has a fridge, kettle, toaster, small oven/grill, two ring induction hob (new in response to guest feedback). Lots of bowls, pans, plates, cups etc. Please ask if you need anything else. We provide a few cooking essentials like salt and pepper, mixed herbs and sugar. In the bedroom is a full length mirror, hair dryer, iron, lots of hooks for hanging clothes up and some shelves. The bathroom has shower, toilet and basin and a heated towel rail. We provide towels. A travel cot and a high chair are available. The accommodation may suit a couple, a couple with one or two children, or two couples. Wi-Fi is available in the conservatory in the farmhouse or it can be accessed from outside when its warmer. Mobile phone signals are erratic--some people get much better reception than others. The thick pine wood walls offer excellent insulation. Electric heating and electric blanket are available if needed so the cabin can be used all year.
The farm is set in a valley just 10 minutes out of Abergavenny but a world away from the town. We are near the Brecon Beacons National Park and surrounded by farm land where traditional dairy, beef and sheep farms are interspersed with holdings for horses and some chicken farms. There are lots of possibilities for walking, cycling, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities locally in the Brecon Beacons and the surrounding countryside. There's a cycle/walking tarmac path up an old railway line leading from Llanffoist to Bryn Mawr (with a gap). It's easy to walk to Govilon up this track then walk back along the canal towpath to Llanffoist. There’s a short walk to the top of the Little Skirrid directly from the farm. Abergavenny is a lively country town. The main market is on Tuesdays. It's worth visiting the Market Hall just to see the huge decorations which go up each year for the Food Festival. Smaller markets happen over the week. There are quite a few independent shops, loads of places to have coffee, some good places to eat. There's a small, modern two screen cinema (for an old fashioned cinema feel try the Savoy in Monmouth or the Working Men's Club in Blaenavon). The attractive 300+ seat Borough Theatre is housed upstairs from the Market Hall.
  • The cabin is great! And the location is really good! Lots of great places to visit and the landscape is fantastic

    Oscar2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin had everything you need to relax and unwind for a few days, lovely country walks right on the doorstep with Abergavenny only a few minutes drive away. Tessa is a fantastic host and was very welcoming-we would definitely stay again!

    Jodi2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place very cozy and sparkling clean. Tessa and Chris were amazing hosts. Our little one loved the farm animals. We would love to stay again.

  • A place to relax and enjoy. Our boys want to come back.

    Gregor2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying in Tessa's cabin, it was clean, plenty of games, outdoor space for kids and Tessa was an excellent host.

    Lenka2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A basic but cosy cabin with everything you need. The board games and books kept us entertained in the evening, and the kitchen was well equipped. The location was perfect for the areas we were visiting. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Wendy2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cabin for a weekend with our two daughters ages 17months and 3weeks. The cabin was toddler friendly, there is a swing and slide in the garden and Tessa kindly provided a travel cot, there are also some toys and books that were an unexpected bonus! There was plenty of space for us all and everything we needed to have a relaxing time. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and we had a wonderful time. Definitely recommend for families with young children who want a quiet getaway that is toddler friendly.

    Jerilyn2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place for our family to spend the weekend! The cabin is open and bright, and we all slept well. We made good use of the little kitchen - it worked brilliantly for our simple supper. The farm is beautiful and our children (all of us, really) were in love with everything. Our hosts very kindly invited us to participate in a few of the more fun farm chores, and we said yes to every opportunity! One afternoon we drove the few minutes into charming Abergavenny, and the children wanted nothing to do with it because they wanted to get back to the farm. A wonderful place to stay! Highly recommended!

Dating back to 1752 this rustic Granary has been sympathetically converted to retain its original features. Perfect for chilling out or walking, set in our family farmland with direct access to Offas Dyke footpath. Dramatic high ceiling oak beamed bedroom with ensuite. Cosy low beamed kitchen/diner with wood burning stove. The sunroom/lounge makes the very most of natural sunlight with rural farm views.
The dramatic high oak beamed ceiling of the bedroom provides a unique space combined with the modern convenience of an ensuite bathroom. The cosy kitchen/diner (originally where corn was ground in 1752), has a range of modern kitchen appliances including coffee machine. The wood burning stove is available for romantic evenings in and the sun room/lounge makes the most of sunny days.
The nearest village is about a three minute drive away or a pleasant twenty minute stroll across the fields. The local village pub has a great restaurant or bar meals and is open every day.
  • My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautifully unique barn conversion. The space was spotlessly clean and has all the necessary amenities. Fresh bread, jams and butter were provided (delicious, thanks!) as well as tea, coffee and fresh milk. The log burner made the space really warm and cosy as it was a chilly night. The hosts were very welcoming and were on hand to help with anything we needed. A very peaceful and relaxing stay in the Welsh countryside, I highly recommend staying here!

    Matthew2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Granary is a great place in a beautiful location. Caroline was a fantastic host and even lit the log burner for us! The Granary has everything you need for a relaxing stay with stunning views. Would highly recommend 😁

    Sarah2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for our lovely stay, all we wanted was peace, quiet, and beautiful surroundings which we got, the log burner kept us cosy and we had everything that we needed. Would 100% recommend ♥️

  • A great host, great place, great location. What else is there to say!? Will definitely stay again!

    Matthew2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We travelled to The Granary in ‘Storm Dennis’ and so very glad we did. It was warm, cosy, spotlessly clean and filled with character. Caroline came over to welcome us, she is absolutely lovely and made us feel so at home. Fantastic location for walking from the door, across owners land to Offa’s Dyke trail past the very vocal donkey 😀 but we spent hours in the spacious sun room enjoying the antics of the hens, the sheep and the hawks soaring overhead. On a clear night we gazed through the roof at the amazing dark skies....incredible!! This place exceeded all our expectations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    David2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We didn’t arrive until around 7pm. The host came out to greet us and explained what was in the house. She had already lit the fire so we were toasty warm straight away which was really thoughtful. There were also roses on the bed as it was Valentines weekend and roses in vases. The pub down the road we were recommended was brilliant. The pictures don’t do the place justice. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone. Perfect for a couples night away. :)

Gaer Cottage is one of two cottages converted from a stone barn built in the 18th century. This peaceful retreat is set in 45 acres of ancient meadow and woodland in the foothills of the Black Mountains within the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Gaer cottage is surrounded by woodland and nature. It is lovely to be able to walk out of your front door on to private peaceful paths and to explore the countryside. Enjoy birdsong during the day and starry skies at night.
Gaer cottage is in a secluded valley in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is on National Cycle Route 42 and close to the Cwm Coed-y-Cerrig Nature Reserve. Good local pubs include the Crown at Pantygelli and excellent restaurants can be found in Abergavenny - which also hosts an annual food festival.
  • The Gaer was a lovely cottage and very conveniently location. The cottage was clean, warm and very well set up. Belinda was a lovely host and extremely helpful! Would highly recommend

  • Photos does not do this place justice! Beautiful little cottage, which felt bigger in person than on the photos. Plenty of room for us to get around the table in the kitchen. Fresh cake and eggs on arrival. Lots of gorgeous scenery to explore, really recommend climbing to the top of the mountain. Fantastic views at the top! Our dog loved it and even had a spare field for him to roam around in. Five stars. Hopefully be returning soon!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, both hosts were friendly & helpful, & a delicious cake was waiting in the fridge! The location is perfect for exploring the area, & relaxing there with the chickens. A peaceful, quiet spot, comfortable house & spotlessly clean. I love the area so will definitely be going back to Gaer Cottage again next time.

  • The photos do not do the cottage justice, it was a really homely space to stay in. The woodlands and gardens are fantastic, and there is so much to do close by to do.

    Michelle2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Gaer Cottage, we received 6 free range chicken eggs and a freshly baked cake upon arrival! There are some amazing walks in all directions, including one that begins right from the back of the grounds and another just across the road. There is a small shop & 2 dog friendly pubs with food & drink within a 5 minute drive or 30/40 minute walk. Gaer is also dog friendly & Belinda was an amazing host, she made us feel all feel very welcome. We will definitely be visiting again!

    Rowan2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful host, top quality accommodation and comfort. Well equipped kitchen, where we were fine with four around the table enjoying those super fresh eggs straight from the chickens! The home made welcome cake was delicious too. Wonderful location as a base for walking in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. Very dog friendly. • Marjorie and Tom were great hosts. They were around for our arrival and checked in to see how we were doing a few times over the weekend. They made it clear that if there was anything we needed they would supply it however the bunkhouse was so well equipped, we didn't need anything extra from them. They provided us with maps of the surrounding areas with different ideas for walks and places to eat/ drink. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely go back again.

  • Gwenillian gave great hospitality, welcoming us in when were aren't feeling that great, and cold and tired. Warm and comfortable, in a charmingly old farmhouse, we felt we had a glimpse of life as it has always been lived there. A stonkingly good breakfast the following morning set us up for the day.

    Jill2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful B+B in a quirky, historical building, surrounded by picturesque countryside. Friendly and warm welcome, plus an incredible cooked breakfast!

  • Two friends and I were mountain biking in the area for the weekend. Gwenllian's Farm Loft was perfect for us. Secure bike storage, off road parking, cake on arrival and a great cooked breakfast in the morning. Great value and great hosts; will 100% be back. The Skirrid down the road (1 minute walk) is perfect for post ride beers and dinner, friendly crowd.

    Luke2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Gwenllian and Idris’ lovely home. They were thoughtful, kind hosts and we loved talking to them over breakfast and exploring their wonderful farm afterwards. We had a lot of fun spending time with all the animals and came away feeling very relaxed. We must say the homemade cake and cooked breakfast were absolutely delicious! We really appreciate how much effort they put into making Tom’s 30th birthday weekend so special. Thank you so much!

Surrounded by farmland on a rural lane. Local fruit farm nearby and a 5/10 min walk to the nearest village which has a pub (The oldest in Wales) and small shop/petrol station. A great location to get out on the hills and explore this beautiful part of Wales.

  • Absolutely amazing Annex. Beautifully designed space. I couldn’t recommend it more. The hosts are lovely. The shower is lovely, the bed is comfortable and it’s exceptionally clean. We stayed there so that we could climb the Sugarloaf mountain and it was a great location. We had a great time and would definitely return. We also ordered a breakfast from the hosts, it was very generous!

  • Elizabeth and Richard's place was absolutely perfect for a couple's visit to the Breccon Beacons and cannot recommend it enough! It was a lot more luxurious than expected and totally private as a self contained annex. Breakfast was great and generous, which helped us up those hills! The underfloor heating deserves a special mention for cold winter days and the place was sparkling and super comfortable. Many thanks to Elizabeth and Richard, who provided a great local guide book and tips. They replenished the breakfast every day and made organising arrival and check out an easy, no fuss affair. Location was perfect, with Abergavenny nearby, plenty of local pub options and limitless beautiful hikes.

An off grid rural glamping retreat in a hand built oak frame cabin on the slopes of the Sugarloaf Mountain and spectacular views. Enjoy the cosy loft bed and glow of the wood burning stove, wood supplied. There is a posh compost loo and the bathroom is a converted horse box, plenty of hot water and bath with a view. Once there you will enjoy complete peace (no WiFi or signal here) amongst wildlife, a spring fed pond and barbecue area. Steep access down the field; you must be relatively fit.
Bluebell Cabin is on the slopes of the Sugarloaf Mountain in the Black Mountain region of Abergavenny. It is glamping heaven in a peaceful wild field of your own. The owners live at the top of the field. There is gas burner cooking, a barbecue, solar lighting and lots of hot water. The loft bed is a cosy space. An ideal place for walking, cycling, mountain biking, wild swimming or unwinding and getting away from it all within designated dark sky area status.
Forest Coalpit is a tiny hamlet in the heart of the spectacular Black Mountains. We are ten minutes from Llanthony Abbey, a great evening cycle with a welcome beer at the end. The Black Mountain Cycle Centre is ten minutes away with some great mountain biking. We have sheep on site and our cat (Jones) and dog (Spud) are both likely to pay you a visit.
  • Our stay was absolutely perfect. The cabin is beautiful and exactly what we needed to take a breath from our busy life. The little touches and added comforts made the stay even better. Truly the best weekend away we have ever had. The love and attention to the cabin pours out and stays with you. And that bath...!

    Melissa2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely and very relaxing spot. The cabin is beautiful and there are lots of lovely little touches everywhere like cosy rugs and blankets and a light that's perfect for reading on the sofa near the fire. I stayed for 2 nights alone and it was a perfect secluded but safe spot that is close to lots of lovely walks. Anne is a very welcoming host and ensured I had everything I needed. Would definitely recommend.

    Ruth2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • A really beautiful and thoughtfully put together place in stunning scenery. Anne is very helpful with tips for things to do and spud is also very friendly!

  • Bluebell Cabin is a wonderful little wooden cabin in a magical valley setting. With beautiful mountain and woodland walks nearby, lots of wildlife and very friendly and helpful hosts in Anne and Dean. Would love to come back again and definitely highly recommend to any couple looking for a quiet and rustic getaway in stunning location.

  • The Blue Bell Cabin was an amazingly place to stay. Totally enchanting and extremely relaxing. Anne was a very helpful and welcoming host. Highly recommended!!

    Edward2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Bluebell Cabin for a blissful birthday weekend, it's a beautiful and cosy space for tranquil slow living. Everything you need to relax and enjoy is right here ... If it isn't, you probably don't need it (especially WiFi!). Particularly enjoyed toasting marshmallows in the fire, a brainwave extra touch! Will definitely be back...

    Justin2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic weekend. The hosts were very relaxed and the accommodation was fully equipped. We cooked outside on the BBQ and enjoyed baths looking out at the view. It is so peaceful and you can go for numerous incredible hikes straight from the door. Sugarloaf is highly recommended.

    Charlotte2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for two nights in this beautiful cabin but could have stayed for weeks! It's really spacious and comfortable with so many thoughtful touches - sofa, blankets, firewood, books and games. The solar lighting was just as good as electrical lighting and the hot water supply was reliable - the bath in the horsebox is a genius idea and so relaxing! Definitely climb up Sugarloaf mountain if you can, it's an easy but stunning walk from the cabin. We didn't bring a car, but arranging taxis from Abergavenny was easy enough (around £12). Anne was kind enough to drive us to Crickhowell at the end of our stay as well. Finally, if you like dogs you can hang out with the lovely Spud, an added bonus :)

Cottages in the small village Llanfihangel Crucorney. Surrounding the cottages is a small animal farm with horses, alpacs, poultry rabbits & guinea pigs etc. The cottages are a conversion of 16th Century farm building. Tycrasu (The Bake House) has a double bedroom and a smaller room with bunk beds & a family bath room on the ground floor. The cottages are entered from the garden area which has seating to sit out and enjoy the views. The living area and kitchen are on the first floor
  • We stayed for 4 nights, and despite some very wet weather managed some lovely walks in the area, one straight from the house. The Skirrid Inn in the village is worth a visit. The cottage provided a good base and had a nice living space. If you are self catering I would recommend bringing basic ingredients like salt, pepper, olive oil as there isn't anything like that (but a very generous helping of cake was waiting for us plus milk tea and coffee). It is a great location and our daughter loved visiting the farm animals each morning.

  • We would definately recommend this as a perfect place to get away from the busyness of life. We went to the Potting Shed for 3 nights with our small Spaniel and hibernated from the world. There was no signal on phones in the accomodation so no phone distractions. While we were there the weather was quite stormy but the Potting Shed was lovely and bright and warm inside and felt very cosy in the evenings. When we ventured out for a walk there was lots of fields surrounding for the dog to run around in. The kitchen was well equipped so we had everything needed to stay in and cook meals, although there was a very nice looking pub about 30second walk away. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you Brenda! • This has become our favourite retreat spot now, we absolutely loved our stay here and wished we could’ve stayed longer. The Potting Shed is stylish and cosy. The kitchen had all the stuff we’d need to cook for ourselves, but there’s also a lovely pub at the end of the lane that serve great food and beers & wine. We can’t wait to be back!

COSY MOUNTAIN BOTHY (SLAP-UP BREAKFAST INCLUDED) ON OFFA'S DYKE PATH 1,200 FEET UP IN BRECON BEACONS NATIONAL PARK—JUST 45 MINS FROM THE PRINCE OF WALES (SEVERN) BRIDGE *CORONAVIRUS—sorry, but we are not taking bookings until UK government travel restrictions are lifted, probably July at the earliest. After that, please do send enquiries and we look forward to welcoming you as soon as possible.
Fancy escaping to real wildness this Spring? Only 20 mins from Abergavenny and 10 from a pub, this super-romantic hideaway high in the Black Mountains is for anyone who loves fresh air, giant views and toasty cosiness after a day in the hills. Feel your ears pop as you wind uphill from the main road, leaving behind the fields and hedgerows of the valleys below, climbing up to another world of heathery peaks and dry stone walls where skylarks sing and merlins fly. Our bothy is simple, but super-snug: centrally-heated, with hand-made mattress and ticking linen on the double bed, shower with proper water pressure, 'thunderbox' mahogany WC, and a fridge for drinks. It sits in the walled garden that was the subject of Antony Woodward's award-winning memoir The Garden in the Clouds. Indeed, you may even wake up above the clouds: a wonderland shared only with a few sheep, wild ponies and the whaleback peaks of Sugar Loaf, Blorenge and Waun Fach poking through. We sit on the highest north-south ridge between here and the Urals in Russia, 2,400 miles away. In your room you'll find tips about, and menus from, all the best (and most characterful) local places to eat and drink—along with recommendations for walks, drives, road and mountain-biking (undercover storage available), plus other activities from paragliding to wild swimming. Most of all, though, this is a place for walkers. We sit on the most dramatic leg of Offa's Dyke Footpath: the 8-mile Hatterrall Ridge between Pandy and Hay-on-Wye. 'One of the most spectacular walks in Britain' said the Guardian—and there's no more magical starting point than our bothy in the clouds. WORD OF CAUTION: Living where we do, you may wake up in cloud, above the clouds - or with no clouds at all. Please understand that the weather can change rapidly in the hills and is not under our control! Also, sorry, but sadly our bothy isn't suitable for the disabled, infirm or young children. There are stone steps, uneven ground, steep drops and open water. Finally, you may encounter the odd spider or earwig - this is the country! Don't worry, we will happily move them if you don't want to.
Life at cloud height really is different. The joys of autumn and winter are exaggerated: cloudscapes are bigger; the air is fresher; on a clear day, you can see 70 miles, to Exmoor, the Bristol Channel, the Malverns, Long Mynd and Pen y Fan. Your first summit is 20 minutes away, up sheep-nibbled paths of springy turf - why not try it by moonlight? You can walk all day without meeting a soul, or you can walk for an hour and a half to a pint at Llanthony. If you prefer exploring lower down, nearby Crickhowell, Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye all have markets, castles and great cafés, not to mention festivals and events throughout the year (Abergavenny Food Festival, Hay Literary Festival, Llanthony Show, Black Mountains Jazz Festival, Green Man, etc). You can drive one of the great roads of the UK, up Llanthony Valley, past a ruined abbey painted by Turner, to Capel-y-ffin, then up over 1,800 ft Gospel Pass to Hay. (This route was recently chosen by artist Jeremy Deller as his luxury on Desert Island Discs.) Meanwhile, hidden throughout the Black Mountains are all manner of delights, from mossy stone churches and bridges to giant Victorian dams, the Brecon & Monmouth Canal, and characterful pubs selling the incomparable Butty Bach beer.
  • The Bothy in the Clouds is a beautiful get-away in a stunning setting. The hospitality, thoughtful touches and breakfast were outstanding - we couldn’t have asked for better hosts! We’ll be back in the summer when the weather is kinder to us, but there’s nowhere better to bunker down for a wet weekend than in the Bothy.

    Constance2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful time at the bothy. Verity is such a generous host who really thinks about the little touches that makes this place so magical.

    Veronika2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A classic "pictures don't do it justice" airbnb. Bigger than expected, the bothy is warm and cosy - strong heating + electric blankets. We arrived during the weekend of Storm Dennis and still managed to explore some beautiful surrounding areas - the Gospel Pass is a must drive. Verity offered many tips and breakfast each morning. A unique stay away from the world that you'll never regret having.

    Daniel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Simply beautiful. The space is bigger than it looks on the pics and is very thoughtfully and stylishly designed. Very comfortable indeed. The location is breathtaking and the perfect base if you want to head out and explore the Black Mountains straight from the door. Really one of the best mountain retreats we've experienced.

    Edward2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful location, the chickens were cute. Verity is an amazing and accommodating host - she delivered pain killers for my hangover.. What a hero. Breakfasts were 10/10.

    Josh2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely incredible, if you want an amazing romantic location with the best hosts you could wish for then don't hesitate to book this. I've stayed in a number of Airbnb's and none have come close to this for cosiness and we really felt at home there for 2 nights.

    Michael2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • What an utterly magical place the Bothy in the clouds is! We loved everything from the stunning location to the finer details inside the little cabin. The photos don't do it justice and actually it was bigger than we expected (a tad more space always welcome). The shower room was thoughtfully designed and the water pressure is on point! Verity and her family really looked after us, giving recommendations and cooking us a splendid breakfast each morning to get us going for our hikes. Would highly recommend and will ourselves be back to stay in the future - if they'll have us?! :D

    Nicola2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and weave up a countryside lane to find the charming bothy in the garden of Verity’s picturesque home. This is the perfect get away for a countryside lover, with breathtaking views and a lovely space with all the facilities you need.

A delightful small-scale cabin set in the beauty of the Brecon Beacons makes The Cabin the ultimate destination for a romantic weekend away, if you fancy something different. You don't have to go far to experience the Welsh countryside, with a decking area to the front and a firepit at the rear that offers a tranquil riverside setting. Venturing further afield, the market town of Abergavenny sits just six miles away, a town that offers a castle, churches, weekly markets and much more.
  • What a beautiful and well thought out little cabin. It has so many lovey little touches to it and Liz was a wonderful host. The setting was idyllic, with the river running behind it. On the last night I was there, I sat outside with a fire looking up at the most stunning sky full of stars. I want to go back!

    Abi2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin in a picturesque setting with so many well thought out little details. Not too close to civilisation but not too far. We had such an enjoyable stay! p.s thank you for the wine and biscuits!

    Jake2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A Perfect little place to get away from it all...A little cabin although small is so well thought out it gets bigger as you use it..shower room..kitchen ..bedroom/lounge ample for two people..we had cooked breakfast in the morning and hot soup and fresh bread in the evening..read books..watched a little telly and played some guitar...two nights left us feeling totally destressed and relaxed...highly recomend .

    Alex2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Myself, my partner and our Jack Russell stayed in Liz's wonderful cabin for a winter weekend break. The location was perfect for us to go out walking and the the post-walk drinks in the pub left only a 10 minute walk back to the cabin. The cabin exceeded our expectations. The level of quality of the construction and the facilities were astoundingly high. The fold down bed is ridiculously comfortable, the shower powerful and hot and the whole cabin was warm and cosy. The Saturday night was the coldest so far this year with sub zero temperatures. Yet, without leaving the heating (fan heater) on we were still warm when we got up on Sunday morning - even though had been that cold outside that the door was somewhat frozen shut! If anybody is wavering about booking the cabin in the winter because they feel it may be too chilly, it really isn't. Liz left us cookies and wine for our arrival and then appeared with a pint of milk! She also let us leave at our own pace on the Sunday as the cabin wasn't booked that night. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and will definitely be booking again!

  • We stayed at Clock Cottage as a base for hiking in the Black Mountains - for which is is very conveniently located. The cottage was a perfect haven after we had been battered by storms on the ridges. The log burner makes the whole cottage toasty warm, the bathroom has a massive shower and deep bath for warming up and relaxing, and the bed is extremely comfortable. It was very difficult to leave! Highly recommended.

    Andrew2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful little hideaway in the beautiful Welsh countryside. The accommodation was perfect for what we wanted and look forward to returning again soon. Thank you Julian!

    Sara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is lovely, perfectly situated for a quiet country escape. The communication is amazing and Julian really makes the place very welcoming. We were left little chocolates on the bed and some breakfast things, so we could just arrive and settle in and not have to worry about shopping. The fire was set up and ready to light as well which was perfect as it was getting frosty when we arrived. We made a booking at the walnut tree restaurant which is pricey but lovely for a special treat. They do a more reasonably priced lunch menu (£32 fir three courses) which Julian recommended to us when I asked about the walnut tree. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you could need. I would recommend a stay here. I would love to return here.

  • Julian is a fantastic host to a striking countryside retreat. Provided very thoughtful welcoming touches which added an extra touch to the warm homely cottage! Looking forward to booking another trip for ourselves or as a weekend away gift for family.

  • Honestly the best airbnb we have ever stayed at. Fantastic hospitality with a cottage to match. Sadly we only had the weekend to stay but this will definitely not be the last time we stay at the clock tower cottage.

My place is close to great views, family-friendly activities, and restaurants and dining. You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the outdoors space, the neighbourhood, and the people. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
It is a short walk about 10 minutes up to the village of Llanvihangel Crucorney with the ancient and supposedly the most haunted pub in Wales The Skirrid Inn; there is also the popular little village shop and garage.  Or 5 minutes' drive in car from the property visit The Crown in Pantygelli, a real rural treasure that demands a visit "as quoted by Daily Telegraph".   Abergavenny just 5 miles away with Spectacular mountain scenery, a bustling market town and foods galore - Abergavenny has all the ingredients for a great holiday.  Famed for its annual Food Festival where hundreds of the world's culinary stars get together, and you can enjoy tasting sessions, master classes and talks. And there a few fantastic eateries in the area. For a special occasion, try The Hardwick, The Angel, The Skirrid or The Walnut Tree. Abergavenny is a great base for fantastic walking, mountain biking and road biking in the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. It's easy to reach (just half an hour from the Severn Bridge).
  • Julie's bungalow is a great place to stay to get around South Wales and into England. The road network is great (bar a few roadworks). There are fantastic walks in the local area and it was even easy to get to our favourite four waterfalls walk near Ystradfellte, 30 miles away. The accommodation was exactly as expected; with good off road parking and all you need for any length of stay. It would be great in the Summer, but with good heating etc. great for winter walking as well. It is very likely you will need to contact Julie to find the house the first time when you get to the village as the postcode does not take you direct to the accommodation, but communication with Julie was great when finding the accommodation and throughout our stay. I strongly recommend this Airbnb.

  • Quiet, homely, clean, fab views, everything you need in a lovely place to get away from the stresses of normal life. A car is necessary, but also if you like walking it would be perfect, as the surrounding areas are stunning.

  • This is a stunning bungalow with lots of room and gorgeous views all round. We stayed with our two young children and hosted family with mobility challenges. It was an ideal location for this and everyone was bowled over by the beautiful setting. Our daughters loved seeing the stars at night.

    Kathryn2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The bungalow was extremely clean, had lots of facilities and the perfect host. A great location, just a few miles from Abergavenny which has great markets. Local places to eat are The Skirrid Inn, the Pandy and the Lamb and Flag. Also the Bailey pub shows sporting events.

    David2019-10-25T00:00:00Z

The property has a large double bedroom and a single bedroom. The bathroom has both a shower and bath. The kitchen has a hob, oven, fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave.
The whole house is available for guests to use
The property is within 30 seconds walk of the Main Street of Abergavenny and overlooks St Mary’s Church and Tythe Barn both dating back to the 11th century. Abergavenny castle is also within 5 minutes walk from the property.
  • Lovely apartment, right in the centre of town. Dewi and Sarah was so helpful and accommodating for our stay, we had a great time. Will be back!

  • What can I say, really central, with private parking provided. Lovely touches, tea, coffee, wine, bread, bacon etc. on arrival, which was much appreciated. Immaculately clean and fresh. Great communication and recommendations made. Thanks Sarah and Dewi! We will be back.

    David2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, brilliant communication, very well stocked fridge. Although we don’t have kids there were plenty of toys and entertainment available which I thought was impressive. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Dewi & Sarah’s place and would highly recommend it.

  • Great location in center of town. Just what we needed Hospitality and communication was great and we would stay here again

    Nick2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay at Dewi & Sarah’s place . The location is just perfect as it’s in town but yet very peaceful plus having parking was a bonus. The cottage is spacious and homely with lots of added finishing touches like a lovely Christmas Tree! Also found plenty of edible goodies in the cupboard and fridge including a bottle of wine for no extra charge. Communication was very efficient. We had a couple of issues which was soon dealt with. Also we were both pleasantly surprise when we had a text from Dewi & Sarah offering us an extra night free of charge as an apology! Would definitely stay at this AirBnB accommodation again when visiting Abergavenny in future and will recommend it to family & friends.

Our Village: soak up the atmosphere Dating from around the 13th century, Llangattock Lingoed is still a proper local village – welcoming and friendly, quiet and unspoilt. Though small, we have a church, an inn and even a Post Office! The 13th century Church of St Cadoc is home to rare bats and some even rarer mediaeval wall paintings; our local, The Hunters Moon Inn, also dates from the 13th century but offers completely up-to-date meals, fine wines, real ales and continental lagers in charming and cosy surroundings. Llangattock Lingoed is on the Offa’s Dyke long distance path and there are many other walks through our beautiful countryside. There is also pony trekking, bicycling, canoeing and even paragliding available in the area. We are only 9 miles from the market town of Abergavenny, offering an ideal base for visiting the local castles and Roman ruins, browsing the book shops in Hay-on-Wye, seeing the industrial heritage of the South Wales Valleys, soaking up the atmosphere of Hereford with its Cathedral and the Mappa Mundi, or enjoying our lively Welsh capital city of Cardiff. Ideally located in a quiet village but close enough to Abergavenny for shopping, with plenty of walks on the doorstep. All in all an perfect cottage for a short break in the countryside.

  • We stayed two nights here over a late January weekend. It was a fabulous getaway, the place was close to the pub, just a three minute walk, and in a beautiful village close to Abergavenny and the Black Mountains. The place itself was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean making it the perfect retreat to escape, chat, relax and base ourselves for a few walks and a little R&R. Thank you Brenda!

A beautifully restored Victorian railway carriage hand-crafted by Graham from local hillside timber with star gazing clear roof above the bed. With incredible walks right from the door, a good local pub close by and the idyllic town of Crickhowell only 5 miles away. To see our Shepherds huts click on our profile
This victorian carriage originally used in the construction of the reservoir at the head of the valley has a picture window that slides open onto a deck with the most amazing views, The carriage has been restored with our own hard wood and a bespoke kitchen and wood burner for all your home comforts while its blissfully soft double bed has generous storage space beneath, A fabulous wet room, dining table and two comfy armchairs complete the furnishing.
Our part of Wales is famous for fine eating, and local Michelin-starred restaurants include The Hardwick and The Walnut Tree in Abergavenny. The renowned Felin Fach is up the road near Brecon and the picturesque Bear coaching inn in nearby Crickhowell, while back in Abergavenny is the Angel Hotel, a member of the prestigious National Tea Guild, serving excellent food year round. Significant local dates: Abergavenny Food Festival 18th-20th September Green Man Festival 17th- 20th August Hay Festival 25th May - 4th June
  • Graham and Pips little hideaway is lush for a weekend away. Listening to the rain hit the see through roof (worth bringing eye masks for the morning sun). Graham made sure we had plenty of wood to keep the fire going, had it pre lit for when we arrived and was very helpful in telling us the route for sugar loaf mountain (not for the faint hearted but great). He called before we arrived to make sure everything was ok and gave some hints for dinner and confirmed directions before we lost signal. I would suggest to save local maps for offline (search "ok maps" on Google maps and choose what are you'd like to save...include Abergavenny and Crickhowell). Would happily stay here again.

  • A lovely weekend spent on the farm. Despite the very wet and windy weather, we had a lovely cosy weekend using the log burner stove and looking at the stars. We used to carriage as a base to explore the local area and had a very relaxing weekend. Looking forward to booking again soon.

  • I had such an enjoyable time at The Forge, it is stylish and clean with a very comfortable bed and good bathroom with plenty of hot water and lovely bath. The very private sun terrace with alfresco dining and marvellous views made my stay extra special. Everything for your comfort and convenience is provided, and shops are a short drive away in Abergavenny (including Waitrose).

  • We loved our stay at Jayne’s! This is one of the cleanest, nicest Airbnb’s we’ve ever stayed at. Great location, plenty of space, and a great launchpad for a Brecon Beacons break! You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere yet are a very short drive to Abergavenny and the surrounding natural environment. We met our neighbor who was very very kind and told us the history of the area. Also, there was a very friendly batch of cows that our pup loved!

This would be an ideal space for any keen walkers or cyclists. Located between the cycle path, canal pathway and the legendary tumbles mountain this is an ideal base for anybody looking to get outside and explore. Abergavenny is a 40 minute walk along the cycle path, 5 minutes in a car.
  • Absolutely loved staying here! The pictures do not to it justice. The bed is extremely cosy & comfy. The place was spotless and could recommend staying here enough.

  • Hayley's place was beautifully clean and felt so fresh and new. And 'perfectly formed' home is anything but small---the photos don't do the place justice!-- it's really spacious and airy. Especially upstairs (yes two floors!) Really fab space, brilliantly stocked kitchen for all your cooking and baking needs, super light in the lounge, and could accommodate 4 of us generously. Cosy and warm, conveniently close to the lovely canal, and was the perfect base for walks above Llangatock, Sugar loaf and the black mountains. Hayley and family were all wonderfully accommodating and welcoming. Thanks Hayley! xx

  • A very well presented space. Access was easy and well explained and we were left to it. I think due to poor phone signal in the area, Wi-fi would enhance the stay. But apart from that, the place is lovely.

  • Sarah Jane wax’s helpful and friendly host. The h one booked breakfast was delicious! This is a great rustic retreat. Cosy hut in a lovely secluded garden, driving distance from Sugar Loaf Mt. It was very wet when I was there but my hut had a heater so I was snug! I would love to return in summer.

Dan-y-Skirrid is a well-placed, spacious apartment recently designed and built by the current owners to a very high standard, packed with all the mod cons you’ll ever need to relax after a hard day’s adventure. With great views of the Skirrid mountain and only a stone’s throw away from the famous “Skirrid Fawr walk” a mountain of mud and myths. You could also enjoy the historic town with its interesting Castle and buildings or sample the food at one of the many fine restaurants.
  • Warm, snug and cosy, a lovely leave within touching distance of the hills and a wonderful restaurant.

  • Nick and I enjoyed staying at this house; extremely quiet, full of lovey little touches and in a great area. We were impressed by all the kitchen amenities. Karen has been lovely and was very easy to communicate with. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay near Abergavenny.

  • My family (4 of us) stayed at Karen's apartment for 1 week. We were greeted by Karen and her 2 very friendly dogs at the gate. Karen and Nigel are two very lovely and accommodating hosts who treated us to homemade bread, 2 bottles of wine, cookies, cheese, and fresh eggs from their hens upon our arrival. I loved looking out the kitchen window at the sheep grazing in the meadow. The apartment is only minutes away from the town of Abergavenny, a town full of shops, grocery stores, pubs and coffee shops. The area is really beautiful and great hiking is minutes away from the apartment. Thank you to Karen and Nigel for being so helpful and quick to answer all our questions. Rhea and Dave

  • Karen and Nigel have created a wonderful, cosy yet spacious and immaculate space from which to explore beautiful Southern Wales. Set just a short drive from Abergavenny, a lovely town with all the amenities you could need, Karen and Nigel’s place is on the doorstep of beautiful walks, and a short drive to many wonderful sites, including castles. Their hospitality, local knowledge and personal touches made this a truly wonderful place to stay. We highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a home away from home in Southern Wales.

    Emma2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place! The apartment is very homely and comfortable with a cosy, modern feel. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of space for 2 couples to happily spend the weekend! Karen and Nigel were fantastic hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you for all the little touches! Only being a short drive away from Abergavenny (10 mins) is also very useful. If you enjoy walking then definitely explore and climb the Skirrid - it’s a sight to behold from the summit!

Recently refurbished to a high standard Dan-Y-Skirrid town house is located in the delightful Princess Street, in the heart of Abergavenny market town centre. Restaurants, pubs and scenic walking routes surround our Dan-Y-Skirrid town house and are within easy walking distance. Despite a central location, Dan-Y-Skirrid town house’s stone walls insulate you from any unwanted noise allowing you to busk in the tranquil surroundings.
As we like to ensure all of our guests feel welcome, we are a dog-friendly host and even have a garden that can be enjoyed by you and your furry friends. We have really enjoyed sharing our surroundings with people from all over the world in our sister apartment, that we thought we just have to share more with you! We live a stone’s throw away from Abergavenny town centre, so we relish being able to readily accommodate our guests and make their stay one they will never forget. We enjoy the restaurants, pubs and scenic walks that Abergavenny has to offer and we find ourselves soaking in what this beautiful town has to offer with bee keeping, horse riding and dog walking. We are more than happy to share our knowledge of Abergavenny for things to do during your stay!
Abergavenny- named the ‘second best place to live in Wales’- is an old Market Town with local produce sold on the High Street. You can enjoy a meal and a drink with friend in local pubs and restaurants, such as The Grofield, The Angel Hotel and Casa Bianca- all within a couple of minutes walking distance and all highlighting Abergavenny’s vast variety of cuisines. Abergavenny is located only an hour away from the Gower Peninsula in the lee of the Brecon Beacons and is ideal for lover of the great outdoors, families or those, simply wishing to wind down from a hectic lifestyle. Abergavenny has something for everyone! If you’re considering bringing your family with you, located 7 miles away is the famous, Big Pit National Coal Museum- a great day out for the family to explore down in the mines with a tour guide, all for free! For lovers of the great outdoors, there is the Skirrid Fawr, Sugar Loaf, and Pen-Y-Fan all waiting to be explored.
  • Karen’s place was very comfortable and ideally located for Abergavenny city centre.

  • Perfectly located house in a charming small Welsh town

    Cyril2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely comfortable place with all you need for a short or longer stay. Very quiet despite its central location. Recommended

  • A great location in a quiet street just a few steps from the centre of town. It's a cosy townhouse with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay in Abergavenny. Highly recommended

  • Great house, very close to the centre of town. Karen was very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. I really liked that she messaged me soon after I said we'd be arriving to make sure we had arrived safely and found our way in. She also recommend some lovely restaurants to try, e.g. Tapas Twist (highly recommend it!). The house was clean and had everything we needed for a weekend break. I'd definitely stay again.

    Coco2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely stay and a great location for local walks with dogs! Would definitely recommend 😁

    Jessica2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute cottage with very good location..

    Antoni2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is in a great location which means a car isn't necessary. You can also do lots of walks, including climbing Sugar Loaf. Plus it's right next to the pubs and shops (Grofield pub was really friendly and we had a great dinner at the King's arms) and a 5 minute walk to a supermarket. FYI the stairs are quite steep and the bathroom is downstairs so it wouldn't be great if you have mobility issues. But overall a lovely stay!

Cosy one bedroom studio cottage based on a small family run welsh Vineyard. Set in stunning scenery, on the foothills of The Sugar Loaf Mountain, Abergavenny on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park. A great base for exploring south wales and ideal if you have a love of hill walking. Set in a rural location but with the convenience of Abergavenny town only 5 mins drive away or 20 mins on foot. Lots to see an do in the area with top class restaurants on our doorstep.
We have 2 one bedroom cottages based on our small family run vineyard. The cottages are adjoined but completely independent from one another, so no interlocking doors, when you book your cottage it's all yours no common indoor areas, only the patio is shared.
The vineyard and cottages are based on the bottom of The Sugar Loaf Mountain but equally we're only a 5 minute drive from town, we are in the country so we have some narrow lanes approaching us but they don't last for long and then your back in town. Some people like to walk in it takes about 20 mins. We're surrounded by green fields and mountains ! It's beautiful here and very relaxing.
  • Excellent location, truly idyllic and so peaceful. Louise is a lovely host, very welcoming without being at all intrusive. Just had a wonderful 3 night stay, our dog loved the babbling brook and we loved the stargazing. Would definitely recommend.

  • The cottage was absolutely perfect for our stay. It is set in a beautiful vineyard surrounded by mountains and hills so everywhere you look you get a lovely view. We had all the amenities we needed and Louise was so incredibly helpful and welcoming to us, even leaving us a bottle of vineyard wine! There is lots to do locally, we really enjoyed climbing sugarloaf mountain. The vineyard cafe does the BEST wine tasting and local cheese platters, highly recommend. We will definitely be back soon!

  • The stay was everything we could have asked for - Lowri’s home was beautifully thought out, sparkling clean and in a great location - close to plenty of walks but also near to a selection of places to eat. Lowri was quick to respond to messages, and welcomed us in the middle of a big storm, there was homemade cake on arrival which was a nice touch. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

This advert is for a en-suite room in a traditional Farm House with full cooked breakfast.
  • Beautiful house, exceptionally clean and very cosy bedroom. Breakfast was wonderful (you won't be needing lunch!). The finishing touches in the room were also great - plenty of tea, coffee, milk, as well as microwave, plates, bowls etc. The only dissapointment was not being able to stay longer. P.s. the cake was delicious.

  • Lovely farmhouse b&b on a working farm. There were cows on one side and sheep, ducks and two very boisterous geese on the other. A very sweet garden, lovely big farmhouse kitchen where we enjoyed our generous cooked breakfast, and delightful hosts. We also loved the surrounding countryside and mountain walks, the local pub (Wales's oldest), friendly folk, and some really good meals in the neighbourhood.

Skirrid Cottage is one of two cottages converted from a stone barn built in the 18th century. This peaceful retreat is set in 45 acres of ancient meadow and woodland in the foothills of the Black Mountains within the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Skirrid cottage is surrounded by woodland and nature. It is lovely to be able to walk out of your front door on to private peaceful paths and to explore the countryside. Enjoy birdsong during the day and starry skies at night.
Skirrid cottage is in a secluded valley in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is on National Cycle Route 42 and close to the Cwm Coed-y-Cerrig Nature Reserve. Good local pubs include the Crown at Pantygelli and excellent restaurants can be found in Abergavenny - which also hosts an annual food festival.
  • We loved Skirrid cottage. Belinda was there to welcome us and the cake she made for us was a great way to start our holiday, very tasty. The cottage is spotless and so we’ll equipped. Definitely everything we needed for a long weekend. It was cosy and easy to relax in. We love it around this part of Wales and will certainly be back as we search for somewhere to live there. Thanks Belinda. See you again

  • A lovely place to stay if you like walking and getting away from it all. There is not a pub or shop within easy walking distance so make sure you have enough supplies. Amazing walks up the hill where the views over the valley are spectacular. A lovely safe place for children and dogs.

    Megan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a cottage! Everything you need and more for a relaxing break. Highly recommend- one of the nicest we’ve been to. Hosts are super - friendly and helpful but allow you privacy to enjoy. Can’t fault this place.

    Suzanne2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely nice and heartwarming, yet discreet hosts with a remarkable attention to details. Everything exceeded the pictures and descriptions provided here. Just perfect.

    Fabio2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I freaking love this place! We have been before and we are already planning to return next year! Hubby and I wanted somewhere to get away that was quiet for our anniversary and boy did we get that! Be aware you are in between two mountains/hills? So phone signal is fairly non-existent but there is WiFi (if a little spotty). But that is what we wanted, we didn’t even turn the tv on we just chilled out for a few days. Being able to bring our dog Vixen is a massive plus and we even gained a dog in Sonny for a while! Just please please stay here (but not when I want to!) because it’s amazing as are Belinda and Roy!
