Places to stay in Llansteffan
Lovely, tranquil retreat on the road to Llansteffan, three miles from Carmarthen. The log cabin is at the far end of a large lily pond within the grounds of our three-acre garden. Features include a log burner, fluffy bathrobes, slippers and towels, DVD library, large box of games, private deck and garden area overlooking the pond, BBQ and outdoor lighting. Six miles to the coast at Llansteffan for walks along the stunning beach and up to the castle.
The log cabin is perfect for a rural getaway providing a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's a great base from which to explore south west Wales and cosy nights in with the wood burner will also help you to unwind and recharge the batteries! While the cabin is compact, the three rooms are stylishly designed for comfort as well as for practical living with everything you need to make your stay relaxing. The main room combines the living space and kitchen and features a wood burning stove (we provide all the wood you may need). The cabin is fully insulated but if you feel a bit chilly there are additional electric heaters. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook up a feast, oils and condiments provided. You will be able to settle in as soon as you arrive with a selection of teas, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits! The bedroom and bathroom are accessed from the living room; bedding, bathrobes and fluffy towels are provided for our guests. Right next to the cabin is a small, fully furnished annexe with its own entrance. It has an additional single bed and ensuite bathroom (but no kitchen). If you require use of the annexe there is a supplementary charge of £25 per night. (NB the main log cabin accommodates two people maximum).
We're on the edge of an ancient woodland and a short drive from some of the most beautiful beaches in South Wales (our nearest beach is six miles away in Llansteffan). Carmarthenshire is a wonderful county to explore: plenty of castles nearby and the Dylan Thomas heritage in Laugharne is not to be missed. There are lots of local attractions and beauty spots close by: to the west - Llansteffan, Laugharne, Tenby, Saundersfoot, St David's and of course the Pembrokeshire coastal path; to the east - National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Llandeilo, Swansea and the Gower; to the north west - Cardiganshire; to the north east - the Brecon Beacons. If the countryside or the coast doesn't provide all the entertainment you need there is even a six-screen cinema in Carmarthen, a lively market town. A 15 minute drive takes you to some of the regions top eateries: Wright's Food Emporium and Y Polyn. Carmarthen town also has a number of restaurants - we can give you recommendations. For self catering purposes there are large supermarkets as well as a Spar shop within a short drive of our home.
  • Marlene and Tony are wonderful hosts. Above and beyond with the extra touches such as a birthday bunting and card for my partner. Such a peaceful and relaxing weekend. Thank you so much xx

  • Many thanks Marlene and Tony for being great hosts. We truly enjoyed our stay and we love what you've done with the place. Is really cozy, sparkling clean and fully equipped with everything needed. We appreciate the little touches as well. It was easy to get there and to find the cabin. I cannot recommend it enough. • Marlene and Tony were both amazing hosts. The cosy cabin was brilliant and by far the best Airbnb we have stayed in. The cabin is in a great location, clean and tidy with everything you need. Marlene and Tony were there if we needed them and thought of everything for our stay. Even a bottle of bubbly for NYE. It's on our list to stay again in the near future.

  • The wooden cabin is a magical and private place to spend Christmas/New Years, the whole place was lit so beautifully when we arrived and saw the landscaper lake and grounds. Spotlessly clean, the kitchen is really well equipped and we were able to cook complete meals. The wood burning stove is a great touch and really made it cosy. Marlene went out of her way to accommodate us when we had to change dates and brought along an unexpected guest (our new pup) - very much appreciated. Highly recommend!

  • We came slightly later than we had originally said and were still met warmly, Andrew had already put on the stove so we arrived into a wonderful warm space. We were soaking wet coming from a walk in storm Dennis so we were especially grateful for this! We were presented with some utterly delicious home cooked bread and shown the amenities and left to it. The cabin is gorgeous, comfortable and was warm enough to dry us and beat our chills in no time. Lovely hosts and a gorgeous space.

    Luke2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is immaculately clean and cosy. Every detail is perfect. It's a lovely quirky space, perfect for couples! We would have happily stayed longer, one night just wasn't enough. We were greeted warmly on arrival and even given the most delicious homemade bread which we enjoyed later with butter and jam. The cabin smells wonderful! It's been lovingly decorated and looked after. There is a pub across the road, no more than 2 minutes walking, and plenty of public footpaths nearby. I would highly recommend!

    Chloe2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot express how amazing this place is! Me and my partner have just spent the weekend here and loved every minute! The cabin itself is stunning , full of charm with lots of little thoughtful touches. Homemade bread on arrival was so tasty! The bed is extremely comfortable and we both had the best nights sleep! Everything you could possibly need and more. We will definitely be returning to this little gem!

  • We loved our stay in this cute and cosy hut after a long days cycle. The log burner kept us warm all night in frosty January, and the homemade bread was delicious! We look forward to staying again in the summer, to enjoy sitting outside the hut on the decking.

The studio was clean and well presented and was great for a night's getaway close to the sea. Aliya wasn't there for check-in but explained everything clearly and was very responsive to our messages. Would recommend for a nice, quiet holiday!

  • We had a wonderful experience at Greenfield Cottage. Great location, cosy, comfortable and sparkling clean, with lovely extras such as home made bread, local honey, eggs and Welsh cakes. We let Carolyn know we were delayed in traffic and She patiently waited to welcome us. Amazing location, five minutes walk to the beach and a short walk to Llansteffan Castle. The weather was cold and rainy for part of the trip but the heating, plentiful hot water and well stocked bookshelf was perfect for relaxing indoors. We ate at a couple of superb local restaurants, The New Curiosity and Florentino’s, both in Carmarthen. Would highly recommend Greenfield Cottage for comfort, location and delightful hosts.

  • A beautiful, welcoming little cottage that has been very tastefully renovated. Super comfortable bed with thoughtfully provided extra bed cover should the weather turn cold or a sheet to use instead of the duvet should it be too warm. We knew our host, David, was starting us off with tea, coffee and milk but we’re thrilled to find Welsh cakes and wine too - swiftly followed by flowers! We felt at home immediately. The location is perfect - a short walk to the amazing beach, village shop and two pubs. We can definitely recommend this cottage. David is also a great host and we would stay there again, should the opportunity present itself.

    Carol2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cottage in a really nice place. Miles long beach - perfect to relax and also to make excursions in the area. The hostess welcomed us with flowers and many tips. Also coffee ... milk ... wine ... was already there

Beautiful VisitWales 5* Innisfree House next to unspoilt beach with outdoor heated pool (open Whit - early Sep). 3 bedrooms (sleeps 7 + cot), living room with 32' balcony, kitchen diner, utility with w/machine, bathroom, ensuite wet room, games room, off street parking, gas central heating, free Wifi, printer. 2 smart TVs, 2 blu-ray players, Wii, bluetooth speaker, games, toys, DVDs, laptop desks. Tumble-dryer in grounds. Hairdryers, linen, towels (but not beach towels). No pets, no smoking.
Innisfree House entrance is on the ground floor, with stairs rising to the living room / dining room / kitchen / utility / study on the 1st floor (there is also a WC on this floor). All rooms have sea views apart from two which have garden / pool views. A second staircase brings you to the 3 bedrooms: kingsize master bedroom with ensuite wet room (& an extra single bed), family bathroom with shower cubicle, separate WC, Bedroom 2 has 2 x 3' single beds, Bedroom 3 can be either a twin room (2 x 3' beds) or a super-king, 6' wide bed (on request). One highchair and travel cot with bassinet are available on request. The house is particularly spacious and light in a prime spot directly overlooking the beach. The road is quiet. There's a tea shop about 5 doors down, a seasonal fish and chip shop across the beach car park (locals regularly drive several miles for their delicious offerings). The heated outdoor pool (no lifeguard) is shared between a handful of holiday rental properties and is open from Whitsun until the end of the first week in September each year.
There is a very useful village shop / deli / cafe just a few minutes walk up the hill, and on Friday and Saturdays they are open for dinner as a licensed restaurant. Two good pubs: The Inn at the Sticks and The Castle (next door to each other) are even closer. The coastal path can be accessed about 100m away. Carmarthen has a multi-screen cinema and many good shops (Debenhams, M&S, Next) and an indoor swimming pool for wet weather days. The National Botanic Gardens of Wales are stunning and only about 25 minutes drive (16 miles). There are many activities on offer in the area for kids of all ages, too numerous to mention. The Castle in Llansteffan is completely free of charge to enter and has stunning views. Dylan Thomas's Boathouse in Laugharne is about 20 minutes' drive. Fern Hill is about a mile away and many of Dylan Thomas's childhood holidays were spent in and around Llansteffan.
  • Sarah's house is amazing. There were so many nice things, its hard to list. The blu-ray collection, the Wii games, stylish modern decor, HUGE tv - but my favourite thing was the kitchen. It was simply the best equiped kitchen of any place at which we've stayed. The area is lovely too. I cant recommend it enough, if you are looking for a quiet week away.... :)

    Robert2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Sarah's place with my parents, husband and our two children. We all loved it and there was plenty of space for people to do their own thing, when the weather wasn't good enough to go out. The local coastline is stunning and we visited nearby places including the country park at Pembrey and beach at Rhossili Bay. It was great to see the children enjoying simple pleasures like building sandcastles and we all enjoyed collecting shells! Sarah was very quick to reply to any questions I had and recommended somewhere for us to eat on our first night. Thank you for a great stay!

    Helen2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic time at Sarah’s place. Traveling with my daughter (3) and wife’s family, the location made it perfect for a long weekend away no matter the weather. Beach, castle, pubs, and the toys at the house made the stay a blast.

    Peter2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in a beautiful position , facing across the estuary, with a lovely balcony. The house is on three levels (as described) , and is beautifully presented. We loved the small room off the main living room (with a glass door, so you still felt included, and set up as a small person's play area) , which meant we could read in peace while the others watched a film, and the under floor heating in the bathroom ( a touch of luxury) . Lots of places to sit and enjoy the view, with even a pair of binoculars to watch the birds. It has a great large kitchen and sizable utility room. For parking the public car park in front on the house (for the extra 2 cars) was empty most of the day , and free to park. Walking on the large beach at any time of the day was so enjoyable, I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a relaxing holiday.

    Anne2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Both my parents and my husband and I had a really relaxing and comfy stay at Innisfree House. Beautiful setting right on the beach, with plenty of space inside and out. Furnished to a high standard and with everything you might need, including good internet connection. It is a very clean and well managed property. The welcome pack was a lovely and thoughtful touch and much appreciated. The Village is beautiful, excellent food in The Inn at the Sticks pub (10 mins walk from the house) and the owners of the village shop/restaurant/coffee shop/bar were really friendly and helpful and served a good pint! We highly recommend this property.

    Cassandra2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Really good - very happy to recommend. A home from home.

    Kevin2019-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Reluctant to write a good review because we don't want everyone else to find this absolute gem of a house! Sarah's place is really high spec- beautifully finished with everything you could need or want. On really rainy hours our young kids found plenty to amuse themselves in the well equipped games room. The beds and sofas are super comfortable and the bathrooms are all lovely and spotless. The pool was pretty bracing but once you were in, warm enough to swim for an hour, even when the outside temperature had dropped. It was plenty big enough and even though shared we almost always had it to ourselves. The local area is fantastic and there is all the info in the house that you need to take advantage of it. The Inn at Sticks in Llansteffan village is a short walk up the hill and does delicious food. Llansteffan castle is so beautiful and the beach is glorious with soft sand and lots of pretty shells.

Great, clear directions and quiet location - I would not hesitate to recommend!

  • Stay for two nights whilst away with work. Very comfortable, clean, warm and friendly. Lots of great little extras I wasn't expecting. Bridget was very welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

    Stuart2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm welcome from Bridget. I booked only a few hours before arrival but communication was great and the room was spotless. Having the use of a private sitting room was great - log burner and TV - and Bridget was very happy for me to have my bottle of wine in there. About 10 mins from Camarthen and few minutes drive to beautiful beach at Llanestan.

  • I stayed at Jon and Moira's for one night with my partner and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay in the area. Before arrival we were sent detailed directions which came in very handy. Jon met us on arrival and was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable straight away (we were also greeted by their lovely pets who were very sweet). Their house is beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed for a nice stay, including a book of useful information for our stay which was very well thought out. We had good access to parking at the property and were in a good location not too far from the town centre. We would highly recommend a stay here!

  • Jon, Moira and of course the beautiful Riley were extremely friendly and helped us to settle in well. It was extremely well located for Many Tears, the animal rescue we drove over 7 hours to visit. It was nice to get somewhere that was like a home from home. The area was very peaceful leaving us with undisturbed sleep and the shower in the morning was great, which for us is always important as were the amenities. I would highly recommend

  • Jon and Moira's place- i would definitely recommend everyone to stay. Moira was very welcoming, good communication and very helpful, the house is sparkling clean, you cannot fault anything. Easy to connect to the major motorway and the bed very comfortable with some complementary facility for hot drinks in the room. I enjoyed my stay.

  • Moira and Jon were lovely hosts. The location was perfect for my personal needs. They gave friendly advice and the small touches were lovely. Lots of tips and tricks for the local town and it was very clean. Lots of supplies given and having a puppy in the house definitely was a bonus! Thanks again!

  • Great space, very clean and comfy. Though GPS doesn’t reflect their address properly, they sent us detailed instructions on how to reach which made it easy. We were able to use the kitchen to cook food with ease. Had a great time with their pets as well.

  • Celia was a fantastic host , she was there to greet us on arrival and had pre contacted us to know what time we would be there , she let us walk in her very large gardens and explained the views over the estuary were great at the top , she also explained about how to walk down to the beach and also checked ferry crossing times to . There were cereal yoghurts bread and milk and orange juice in the fridge which was a lovely touch . She advised of where to eat and places of interest to visit , beautiful location and we would definitely love to stay here again , great base to go off exploring the west from ,

    Elaine2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely breakfast touches, local jam and butter and a good choice of cereals plus fairtrade coffee. Plentiful outside area and the swing at the very topwas awe-some. You felt like you were flying! Thanks Celia, definitely be coming back!

    Hollie2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Celia's place. The location is superb. It has breathtaking views of the river estuary. Very close to the beach. Quite remote and offers a unique and restful stay. The facilities were just what is required. It was very clean and has all the necessary equipment for a comfortable stay. Celia provided very good and nutritious breakfast. We loved the locally baked bread it was very tasty. We used Celia's place to make short trips around the area such as the National Botanical Gardens, Dylan Thomas's shed in Laugharne, Tenby and so on. We wished our trip could have been longer as this is a beautiful area of Wales, perhaps we can visit again in the near future.

Many more activities in the area. Sleeps six and also has a travel cot and highchair for a baby/toddler. Two well behaved dogs welcome.

Parking for two vehicles ( more in adjacent barn) and bicycle store. BBQ available and outside seating.

  • Valerie's place was clean and comfortable with the most beautiful views of the countryside. We had a lovely time!

    Cindy2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Taf Cottage was perfect for us - 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a dog. It's a real cozy home from home. Valerie had thought of everything that makes a stay away easy. She left us the essentials and some luxuries which meant we were in no rush to do a food shop. She was very flexible around check-in and -out time which was really great. There are so many places to explore on the doorstep, and back at the cottage it's so peaceful. Would thoroughly recommend.

  • We stayed for a couple of nights for a friends wedding, but loved it so much we are looking to come back for longer. Wonderful location, lovely views, great host. The cottage was very clean and the wine, coffee and welsh cakes etc were a lovely touch. I would recommend a holiday here to anyone.

    Rhianna2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous 10 days in Taf Cottage - we really appreciated the generous welcome pack and fresh flowers that greeted us after a long drive. Valerie and Paul are great hosts - really thoughtful and helpful. The cottage itself is very comfortable and well equipped - and is beautifully situated with the most stunning views over the estuary; the sunsets are amazing!

    Helen2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Taff Cottage was a wonderful base for my family to explore all that Llansteffan and the surrounding area has to offer. Valerie has thought of everything you could possibly need and more. As the property was not occupied during the day before or after our arrival Valerie was kind enough to allow us to check in and out early/late which made our trip with a two year old that much more relaxing. I would happily recommend Taff cottage to anyone visiting the area, it was a lovely home from home.

    Gabriella2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday. The views are fabulous, the space is clean, functional and definitely big enough for our family of 5. The communication with Valerie was easy and we felt very welcome. I would definitely go again or recommend it to anyone!

    Nathalie2019-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at Taf Cottage. The local beach is amazing and there are so many beautiful places to visit around the local area. On arrival we were greeted by a very thoughtful welcome pack which was very much appreciated, ( especially the chocolate Easter bunnies for our girlies and the tasty treats for our energetic spaniels!) We enjoyed every bit of our stay and have already recommended this gorgeous cottage. Valerie and Paul are such great hosts, we look forward to visiting again soon.

Sitting above the Taf Estuary, Holt Cottage provides a perfect location to enjoy the peace and tranquility of an unspoilt part of Wales. Situated on the Welsh Coastal Path, we provide a base from which to explore the glorious Welsh coastline. A haven for wildlife with regular sightings of red kites, badgers and for the lucky few, otters at play. Holt Cottage is set in the countryside that Dylan Thomas would have gazed upon and has view of his Boathouse and Writing Shed.
Holt Cottage is a self contained cottage attached to our property. You have your own patio, ideal for al-fresco dining and BBQs with stunning views over the Taf Estuary across to Laugharne. Downstairs, you have an open plan living and dining area with patio doors making the most of the view. You have a fully equipped kitchen complete with washing machine, fridge and chest freezer. Upstairs you will find a double bedroom with ample storage and countryside views, a family bathroom with bath and shower and, to the front of the property, a family room with one double and one single bed. The cottage has it's own parking and gardens.
We love the combination of coast and country. Surrounded by dairy and sheep farms, the cottage is a beautiful place just to sit, relax and watch the sun reflect off the waters of the estuary. Sunsets are particularly breathtaking. One mile up the hill, you have the small village of Llanybri with it's pub and Thai restaurant. A mile and a half around the headland, you have one of Wales' hidden gems, the seaside village of Llansteffan, complete with village pubs, castle and glorious sandy beach. You must try Florries Fish and chip stall on the seafront. The market town of Carmarthen is 8 miles away and provides ample shopping, eating and entertainment. Across the estuary, you find Laugharne, a delightful medieval township famed for it's links to the late Dylan Thomas. The coastal road then passes the famous Pendine beach and Museum of Speed. Tenby and Narbeth are an easy drive away. Whether you are a lover of food, the outdoors, looking for a quiet romantic retreat, or great family times, we hope you will find it here with us at Holt Cottage.

  • A fantastic home, location and host. We had a wonderful weekend, which was made very straightforward for us by Mark. The accommodation was even better than expected and the views were wonderful. Would highly recommend staying here and visiting this beautiful part of the world.

  • This is a lovely place to stay and relax - calm peaceful comfortable with beautiful views over the estuary and a private patio to sit out on. The weather wasn’t very kind to us over the 3 days we were there but the serenity of the location was more than compensation. Although remote the host gave us excellent directions and lives in the adjoining cottage so is on hand to help out if needed which was nice given the remoteness of the location. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

    Wendy2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely tranquil cottage & setting in a fantastic area for exploring some of the sights of South Wales. Great communication & welcome from the hosts. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Ideal location in a woodland setting, a perfect base to explore Carmarthenshire. A small one up, one down, compact, rustic, cozy, detached cottage set in a rural quiet location, next to a brook. There is a pub within a 5-minute walk. Warm in front of the log burner in the winter or relax on a sun-filled patio in the summer. 8 miles from the Wales oldest town, Carmarthen, close to Pembrey country park & superb Beach, Ffos Las Racecourse, Kidwelly Castle, Llansteffan & Botanic gardens
The cottage is compact and quaint with everything you need for a relaxing visit to Wales. The cottage has one bedroom with a double bed, a small shower room , a kitchen lounge with dining a table and a log burner. Dvds only. Outside are views over the valley, a patio area looking on to the brook and a chiminea. There are 2 dogs at the property but they do not have access to Brook Cottage. Please note.. The cottage is situated right on a lane, it is very quiet but care must be taken when entering and leaving the cottage.
The cottage is perfectly located, an enjoyable leisurely stroll down the lane over an ancient bridge and river to the local pub. We recommend the local pub, the food is home cooked and the locals don't bite :) There is a shop a mile and a half away with a post office, petrol, and chemist. Also, there are some good places to eat within a 2-mile radius plus very good taxi service. There are many places to visit, the National Botanical gardens are a short drive away and Carmarthen holds the Antique fairs once a month at the Carmarthen showground. The Cynheidre Railway is 2 miles away for railway enthusiasts. You can go further a field, Tenby is only 45 minutes away and a visit to Narberth is a must. The Ffos Las racecourse holds many events each year and is hugely popular. Closer by LLanelli wetlands are worth a visit and so is Burry port with its new Lifeboat station and great fish and chips. Pembrey country park 5 miles away has everything, acres of woodland to cycle, a fabulous Beach framed by sandunes. The renown Glynn Abbey golf course is 2 miles away,
  • Just go if you want to be hansel and gretel ;-) . It's so cozy and cute. We will definitely be returning again and again. ;-) x

  • Just wow, lovely hosts in a friendly village, great location base for days out. Great value little cottage.

    Rob2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Keri was there to greet us and showed us around the cottage - she was very welcoming and gave us lots of info about the local area and recommended some days out. The cottage is very cosy, just what we wanted and better than we had expected. They had put out some wine and fresh flowers which was a lovely touch. The cottage has everything you need in the compact space - they have thought of everything! We chilled out by the fire and watch a film, had breakfast in bed and the cottage also has a nice patio area with a BBQ which we used one evening. We used the log burner and Keri was quick to offer help with this. We did lots of exploring but also spent time relaxing and chilling out in the cottage. We went to the Incline Inn for dinner one evening (10 mins down the road walking) and they were very friendly and the food was delicious. We also had a carvery on the Wednesday at the rugby club which again was delicious (about 5 min drive). We visited Kidwelly castle - can explore the castle and has lovely views. Burry Port which has a beautiful sandy beach. The botanic gardens which had an incredible bird show and The mumbles in Swansea which is a pretty costal town. Overall we have a lovely stay at the cottage and would love to return. Thank you so much for having us.

Further along the coastal route is Amroth and Saundersfoot where there is access to the beach for swimming, plus a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. • The Barn was absolutely beautiful and Robert was a fantastic host. He made sure that we had everything we needed and and kept us well informed before our arrival. The Barn was very spacious but homely feeling and was absolutely spotless. The welcome pack on arrival was a really nice treat after a long journey as well, full of lots of local welsh goodies! The weekend was booked as a surprise for my Dads 50th and the whole experience of staying at the Barn really made his birthday. The location of the Barn is perfect as you really feel as though you are escaping all of the hustle of bustle of normal life. I will definitely be looking to stay here again and already can’t wait to go back!

  • What a fantastic holiday cottage for our first mini family holiday away. The place was spacious, clean, warm and very peaceful. It was the ideal setting to relax and unwind. We were extremely lucky with the weather and managed a few dry and sunny days out to Tenby and Laugharne itself. I highly recommend this cottage whether you're a couple looking to get away for a couple of nights or a big family holiday getaway . There's plenty of room! Robert is a great host and he couldn't have done more for us. Super quick with replying as well. Cheers

  • Homely & comfortable stay with great beds that encourage napping!Super comforting stay with home made breads, fingers crossed, you get to try Nicki's home made marmalade with lemon as it's delicious. Very laid- back environment, Nicki made us feel like part of the family and we left feeling super relaxed afterwards.

  • Nicky s place is an absolute gem. Stunning views and Nicky is so welcoming - will definitely be back. Super comfy bed and such a fantastic place. A big thank you Nicky 😄

  • Nicki was one of the most welcoming people I have ever come across. Her home was set in a beautiful location and no expense was spared when helping us with local attractions to do and see, from food and restaurant suggestions in and around ferryside, information on the local Ferry crossings and suggestions on sites and places of interest further afield. The property itself was welcoming, homely, very comfy beds, hot shower, delicious breakfast, including freshly baked sourdough bread and a stunning view over the welsh seaside. I can’t recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be back. Thanks Nicki for everything.

The former restaurant of renowned chef and gardener Nick Priestland which has also featured in the BAFTA award winning drama BBC's Keeping Faith! Hidden from the main street in Laugharne, behind its exotically landscaped grounds, is The Cors, a very special country house. Converted from an exquisite Victorian house, we have brought this building to life and created a charming blend of period pieces and modernist artworks. A bohemian bolt hole, one of the best - the 2-acre garden is a perfect retreat in the summer months. The artistic sensibility is visible in everything we do from the drama of the gardens to the quirky decoration of the house. Bedrooms: There are three double rooms with en-suite, modern bathrooms with walk-in showers, and a corner bath in one of the rooms. There is also a newly refurbed king bedroom (January 2020) and twin bedroom in the loft which has the use of the main bathroom on the 1st floor. All bedrooms (apart from the king) also are equipped with large smart TV's with Sky/ Netflix, free Wi-Fi. All rooms reflect the elegant ‘shabby-chic’ style of the Cors Country House with with stunning garden views. Living spaces: The Cors offers three large living areas where you can relax and unwind, listen to music on our smart multi-room Sonos speaker system, play with a range of board games, shoot some pool or watch a film in the newly appointed cinema room, again with Sky & Netflix on our 60inch TV with games console. If that doesn't interest you can always become a bartender for the evening and serve cocktails and drinks from behind the old bar. The lovely sun room offers a beautiful outlook of the gardens, ideal for relaxing with a book, or having some breakfast on the bistro table. Kitchen: The large well stocked kitchen caters for your every need. With a newly installed oven and induction hob, and modern appliances with the traditional surroundings, what more could you want. There is comfortable dining for 10 people. Utility Room: A large space ideal for shoes, wellies, coats and empty luggage, housing the washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher. Also access to back staircase, and fire escape route. Garden: Translated from Welsh The Cors means bog, which is what Nick Priestland had to work with when he created his beautiful landscaped garden set in a wooded valley bordering the Corran river. Consisting of approximately 2 and half acres, this well designed large bog garden has ponds, gunnera, bamboos and tree-ferns. It is an exceptional, elegant and artistic garden with unusual architectural and exotic planting, dotted with sculptures. The garden is a perfect retreat for a sunny day, there is a range of seating available to chill out and soak up some sun or even have a BBQ. Please be aware of the open ponds and river to the side of grounds as there are no railings. Carpark: The large private carpark has enough space for at-least 8 cars. Don’t miss Laugharne for all things Dylan Thomas, plus the beautiful estuary and castle.
Discover the magic of Laugharne in Carmarthenshire.......Laugharne is perhaps best known for its associations with Wales' most famous poet, Dylan Thomas, however, there is much more to Laugharne than just Dylan Thomas. Laugharne is a small town sitting on the estuary of the Taf River and offers stunning estuary walks, including the infamous Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk. There are also plenty of woodland walks and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path starts nearby. It is an ancient town steeped in history, and a popular tourist destination with many great attractions in the area. With its easy accessibility to the M4, and prime location, also makes it a great base to visit Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The Boathouse, where Dylan and Caitlin lived with their children is now a heritage centre. Overlooking the estuary are the dramatic ruins of a Norman Castle, a popular visitor attraction. Laugharne is a charming sleepy town with a mixture of large Georgian houses and pretty small cottages, set amongst a good choice of cafes and restaurants, including the well known Browns Hotel. There are also a good choice of outdoor activities available in the area, ranging from horse riding, coasteering, to a variety of water sports, abseiling, orienteering, caving and gorge walking. There are many beautiful rugged beaches in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, along with the more popular coastal resorts of Pendine, Saundersfoot and Tenby. There is an abundance of interesting attractions locally, including Castles, historic houses and National Botanical Gardens to name a few. For the younger generation we are a short drive away from the likes of Folly Farm, Oakwood, Manor House Wildlife Park, Heatherton World of Activities and Dinosaur Park to name a few. It’s the perfect place to get away from it all.
  • Had a great weekend at Jac’s place. Two families together ranging from age 7- 74. The house is lovely and spacious so plenty of room to cater for everyone. We had some rain, it didn’t matter though, whilst some were playing pool in the games room, others were playing board games in the dining room, which left the cinema room for playing on the Nintendo switch or watching tv. We made the most of the dry weather and had a couple walks into Laugharne. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The garden is huge and would be wonderful during summer I’m sure.

  • Jac was really accommodating and we loved spending our Christmas at the Cors!

    Garreth2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible place The Cors is! Beautiful setting and amazing character throughout. A very well-equipped kitchen and games room kept us busy through the Welsh rain. Being pet-friendly it was ideal for our collie, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the comfort the house provides. The WiFi was a little weak in the cinema room but really not a concern when you have Sonos throughout the ground floor. Excellent communication made for a seamless check-in/out experience. Overall a perfect long weekend!

    Matthew2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the Cors, the location was beautiful and very secluded. The house inside was stunning and absolutely spotless, and the kids found it all very exciting. Jac was a great host and was quick to respond to any questions I had, and we will definitely return in the future. I would highly recommend The Cors to anyone looking for somewhere to stay with a large group!

  • We booked this place last minute and we wasn’t disappointed, upon arrival down the driveway we was amazed. The house impressed us in many ways, quirky, stylish, comfortable, homely, different but most of all very enjoyable. The host kept in contact with us throughout our stay, great rooms for entertaining, including the bar area. We enjoyed our short break immensely. Thank you very much

    Milo2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful characterful house, with a gorgeous garden. The situation is very peaceful but shops and restaurants/pubs are in easy walking distance. Very well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Plenty of room for a family party and a small dog (who spent a lot of time on the very welcome dog bed - much bigger than his at home!). We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.

  • This is a gem!!!! Wow. We were blown away by the thoughtful touches in this stylish space. There was nothing we wished it had ... shower over the bath, a super comfy bed, tv with the best selection of dvds i have ever seen. Having breakfast looking out over the river and the welsh countryside was just sublime. The kitchen is really well kitted, we cooked, used the oven, made all our own food and we were supplied with milk, biscuits, coffee, a few other very useful groceries in the kitchen. The bathroom had so many little comforts in case you left yours at home, even a headache pill! This is honestly one of the BEST bnb's I have ever stayed in and I've stayed in a lot all over the world !

A beachfront cottage with lovely views from the living room balcony over the beautiful sandy beach and the unspoilt estuary of the River Towy. Couples will find it the perfect place for a peaceful getaway, while young families will love the beach and heated pool.
Take a walk along the beach and back up through the woods which in Spring, are a mass of bluebells. If you're feeling slightly energetic, take a stroll up to the castle ruins and be stunned by the views in all directions, but especially across the water and towards the Gower. The village has 2 pubs, both of which serve well cooked food in a friendly atmosphere. In summer, you can enjoy fish n chips from the beachside cabin, or sit with your coffee and cake outside the award winning cafe. Or take a boat trip across the estuary to Ferryside and watch the sunset over the castle. Visit the National Botanical Gardens , or slightly further afield, is the beautiful, historic seaside town of Tenby. Oakwood Adventure Park makes for a good day out ......... There is no shortage of things to do within easy travelling distance of Llansteffan.
  • This is a gorgeous apartment, right on the beach. We stayed as a family of four and it was comfortable, well laid out, clean and tidy. Even though it was the middle of winter it got cosy pretty quickly and had everything we needed for some long nights in. The location is spectacular and it was a real treat to be the only people on the beach as the sun rose. We would heartily recommend Innisfree and would definitely come and stay int he summer too!

  • No problems with our stay and we loved how cosy our apartment was especially when the weather wasn’t on our side. Although, it was a shame the pool was closed for winter. We will have to come back again in the summer to use it. Thank you for being a great host and wish you all the best. Heather - Cardiff.

  • The cottage Was great for our family of four. The setting is really beautiful and can not be faulted. The swimming pool was warm and clean and we went in a couple of times each day. The house is comfortable and having the lounge upstairs is lovely so you can all appreciate the views of the sea and across the estuary. Great base to explore the area. Jill is very responsive to messages and welcoming.

  • A hidden treasure. We absolutely loved our 2 night stay here. It was in a perfect location, no need to drive anywhere everything is on your doorstep ❤️ the house was clean and comfy. We visited the castle which has outstanding views. The cakes in the cafe are lush and so are the chips from the chip shop HUT. The pool is also really nice and warm. We all loved this place and cannot wait to go back. Highly recommended

  • Really comfortable 3 bedroom house in an absolutely fabulous location. It is literally a 5 minute walk to an amazing beach which is dog friendly for some of the year (check dates on this). Llansteffan also has a couple of good pubs and a local shop, all of which arel within easy walking distance of the house. Some great walks and an interesting local castle just off the beach too, which is great for kids to run around in. There is also a tea room just off the beach and a fish and chip bar in one of the beach car parks, but this wasn't open during our visit. You can park outside the property easily too. Cannot recommend this house highly enough and Helen is a first class host too. Will definitely use again.

    Kevin2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful house in a great location - we had a lovely stay with many days on the beach and exploring the local trails.

    Andrew2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely house, nicely decorated and absolutely sparkling clean. Good sized rooms and very practical. Helen had kindly provided plentiful supplies of loo roll, hand soap, cleaning materials, dishwasher and washing machine tabs, tea and coffee and more. We appreciated having a real garden with lawn and plants not concrete and enjoyed watching the birds that live in the large bush. Gorgeous beach and sand dunes just down the road with a fab view of the castle on the way. There are picnic benches and an area of beach where you can walk dogs even in the summer. For sea shell collectors you can fill your pockets with cute little cockle shells of all colours. Highly recommended but don't you lot go booking it up because we want to go back!

    Lisa2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little gem, located a minutes walk to the beech. The house was very clean and had everything that we needed and you could need. We had a 13 week old and it was lovely to find the place just like the pictures.

  • Lanstaffen is a great and very friendly village. The house was well positioned for a short walk on to the beach or the centre of the village. The beaches were spectacular, both my boys and dog loved them. Lanstaffen has a few good pubs and excellent restaurant that does sour dough pizzas. The house itself was finished to a high quality, good facilities and very clean. The host very friendly and helpful. We plan to return to this house and location again in the future. I would very much recommend this place for a short or long break. T

  • From the moment we crossed the Level crossing & realised our apartment no 2 was literally situated with the most breathtaking view ever, we grinned like Cheshire cats! The space was larger than expected with a large kitchen downstairs & dining area with lots of seating. Two bedrooms & upstairs main bedroom with en suite shower & main bathroom bath. It’s very contemporary & the owner has taken great pride in his design. The stairs are for the able bodied & we probably wouldn’t bring very young children or elderly infirm relatives here. It is well equipped with dishwasher/washing machine/fridge freezer in kitchen. If you like good coffee you will need to bring your own Nespresso machine & capsules. Most good AirB&B’s have these already & I’m sure it won’t be long before the owner gets one too. The owner very generously left plenty dish washing capsules & plenty soap & shower gel, unusually there were loads of loo rolls! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ferryside & really didn’t want to leave. Looking forward to our next visit!

  • Excellent place, we definitely recommend ! We spent 3 days in Gary's cottage with our 3 kids and we really enjoyed it. The whole cottage is really nice and comfortable, but the upper lounge is just stunning ! Amazing view on the sea from the 3 large windows. Reasonable distance from lots of touristic places or just 10m from the beach.

    Nicolas2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house is fantastic! Amazing views from the top living room area with everything you could need. Plenty of space and equipment and all clean and tidy. The bedrooms are excellent with smart bathrooms and a well equiped kitchen. You are literally 5 meters from the sea and there's plenty of parking.

    Harrison2019-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful place with lovely views across the estuary and out to sea. Nicely kitted out interior with all that you need.

  • Perfect little get away, beautiful scenery, peaceful. Meinir was an amazing host! Lovely personal touches in the house when we arrived such as wine and a box of chocolates and milk in the fridge for hot drinks! Which was a touch because I normally forget them things!. All round lovely trip with a lovely clean house couldn’t fault it. And I already can’t wait to revisit! P.s if you enjoy four legged friends Monty is a real character and it’s really lovely to see him waiting at the door to be greeted by you xx

  • This place is fantastic, it’s modern, stylish, clean and the grounds are beautiful. The jacuzzi is great and the hosts are wonderful. It was a fantastically peaceful and relaxing stay, and there is loads to do within half hours drive. We’ll be back!

  • What a beautiful relaxing weekend we had! We will 100% be looking to return in the summer, it was so homely comfortable and absolutely spotless! You had thought of absolutely everything, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Thanks again, and we look forward to coming back:)

  • An amazing place, so quiet. Meinir really went the extra mile and made my fiancee birthday surprise even better. We loved it so much we are already looking at dates to come again.

    Tim2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great little flat, very well finished with lots of lovely extras from the host.

    Rachel2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic. To start the house is immaculate, got everything you could possibly need and more. Meinir as a host was fantastic, all the information provided, things left in the house to make your stay - like the wine and the milk (I always forgot the milk lol) go a long way. Secondly a beautiful country setting with nothing to disturb you, was a much needed break from all the hussle and bussle for me and my better half. Thank you for a fantastic start to the year! Will be back again I’m sure as I want to go Brecon Beacons!

Within easy reach of: - 2 pubs less than 5 minutes walk - Village shop - Castle and beach - Mansion House Hotel
  • This is a perfect hideaway stay - very beautiful place -- spacious, everything you need, calm, relaxed, comfortable, gorgeous views and easy walks to the local village (with Post Office/small shop/tearoom, local bread etc), a great restaurant (Inn in the Sticks) and a walk through a field to the beach and the best fish and chips. Even a castle to explore. V recommended.

  • Home away from home. Very comfortable place. Great views day and night. Lovely bedroom and bathtub. Kitchen had everything we needed. Lovely garden. Now CE welcome and quick response for any needs.

  • We have just returned from a wonderful break. A baby cot & high chair were provided on request for our 6 month old and we had everything we needed for our little family. It's such a beautiful & relaxing place & the views are stunning. We all loved exploring the walled gardens, especially our four year old. Wyn and Deidre were friendly, accommodating and hospitable hosts and were very knowledgeable about the local area. We will definitely visit again.

    Bethan2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is so much more amazing in real life than in the photos, and the location is breath-taking, the building is stunning, and Wyn is a very gracious and supportive host. The cottage is immaculate, and a really sympathetic renewal of an astonishing, old building. The kitchen is immaculate, and the place has all you could want. The heart of the village is just a few minutes walk away, as is Llansteffan's stunning beach. We loved it here, and will definitely be seeking a time to return. Oh, and the food at the Sticks is amongst the best pub food we've ever eaten. We just can't recommend Wyn's place highly enough.

    Eddie2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect fantastic views and very spacious accommodation. Wyn is a lovely bloke and very accommodating, we had great time just chilling and relaxing. We would recommend this to all.

    David2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The place is located within an outstanding, perfectly located mansion, with some stunning views (castle & shore, but also a lot of nature), plus relaxing and peaceful village only 5 mins down the road. Definitely more than we expected out of our trip to Wales!

    Bart2019-04-22T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed at the Cwtch for one night and it was a fantastic stay! Great view, location, lots of local tips and walking routes! We went to a local pub which was recommended by the owners and had a lovely Sunday lunch. Nice touches with the welsh cakes and milk when we arrived! Hot tub took a while to get heated but once it was warm it was lovely! Would definitely recommend!

    Abbie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, cosy weekend! Perfect for anyone looking to relax enjoy the great outdoors! Would highly recommend!

    Florrie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Despite nearly being blown away by Storm Dennis and the accompanying 60mph gusts of wind, we had a wonderful time at The Big Cwtch! The facilities are excellent, the bed was much bigger than we expected and so comfy and the full length window was lovely for watching the changing scenery. We didn’t manage to get the hot tub going due to the high winds and rain/hail so we will definitely stop by again when we travel nearby in the future.

    Emma2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely stay at the hut. The hosts were easily contactable and really welcoming. The hut tub was a lovely touch despite the weather. Will be returning, thank you

  • Truly lovely. Spotlessly clean, tasteful decorated, very thoughtful touches - including a breakfast tray with some complimentary jams, drinks and nibbles. The kitchen had everything we needed to self-cater. We felt very welcome. The property was easy driving distance to the main road, but set back enough that it felt quiet and peaceful. We had a great stay, would definitely recommend.

  • The accommodation is perfect lovely sized living/ kitchen area for 2 people and our dog. Plenty of lovely walks and places to visit near by. The dog exercise area was fantastic added extra didn’t expect it to be so big Chloe loved running around in it each evening after racing. We were in the Wales for the weekend racing at the cani-x Canicross weekend at pembrey and it was so nice to have such a lovely place to stay and chill out each afternoon/ evening after racing. The cooking facilities were great and made it so easy to make meals etc each day. And the dishwasher and washing machine were great added bonuses 😊 The bed was very comfortable. The rooms were a lot bigger than they looked in the photographs.

  • Great location, lovely chalet.

    Bedwyr2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • if you're looking for a small but cosy place to spend a few days, that's the right chalet to choose. Its location is for the ones who are looking for some peace and relaxation. I took my two daughters with me and they loved it although I wouldn't recommend it for children: there's nothing on site apart from a forgotten tiny and muddy play. The most exciting thing for kids is either a walk in the woods or owl hunting - weather permitting! On the other hand, if they are easy just like mine, you can visit the ruins of a 13th century castle nearby with outstanding views - again depending on the weather. The chalet itself is great. I always get very worried in regards to heating but this one deserves 5 stars! In addition, it has absolutely everything you need including blankets, towels, cutlery, iron, tv, etc, etc. There's no need to take anything from home which can be a bonus if your car is not as spacious as you would like to be when it comes to holiday trips! The only disappointment was the wi-fi which was extremely temperamental and could not be used fully. I wanted to watch a few films with my children but never managed so I decided to use my mobile phone internet allowance instead. Apart from this, I would say it is a great value for money!
