Places to stay in Llanrhystud

Places to stay in Llanrhystud
We've made Beudy Penlan a special kind of place that we'd like to stay in. A beautiful stone cottage with a touch of quirky charm. 0pen plan and spacious, it's a truly restful retreat, yet within easy reach of the sublime Ceredigion coast, and pet friendly too. If you have a larger group, check out the adjoining cottage Beudy Penlan Isaf at www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/24424075 NO CLEANING FEE!, but we do ask guests to leave the cottage as they found it. NO EXTRA CHARGES FOR WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS
The stone whitewashed walls, open A-frame roof and open plan layout create a spacious feel to this split-level cottage. The main sleeping area being a traditional croggloft with a double bed accessed by stairs from the ground floor. There's a relaxing living area with two sofas, a wood burning stove, a plasma TV and a cracking sound system. There's free WiFi too, and a work area if you really need to open up the laptop. The kitchen has a hob, microwave/grill/convection oven, sink and fridge. There's an eating area with seating for six and the bathroom with shower is en-suite.
We are roughly 9 miles from the harbour towns of Aberystwyth and Aberaeron, just inland from the Ceredigion (Cardiganshire) coast. You will be staying in a really beautiful wooded valley, it is carpeted in blue belles in spring and in summer it can be a real sun trap. The old Welsh name for the area 'Dôl boeth', which means hot meadow. In autumn the colurs are truly dramatic, and in winter - well we're in Wales so you can experience all four seasons in one day, but on a bright, crisp winters morning you wouldn't wish to be anywhere else. You will be in the heart of the country, no distant rumble of cars - sleeping with the accompaniment of total silence is truly rejuvinating - a treatment few posh spas could offer. Our only neighbours are sheep, badgers and foxes with air cover provided by Red kites and buzzards. We are however not at all remote, the village of Llanrhystud is just over a mile away and the beach just another half mile. The village has an 18-hole golf course with swimming pool, leisure facilities, driving range and restaurant. There's also a petrol station with convenience store, a flower shop, a taxi and coach firm, a hairdresser, a good pub with great pub grub, beer garden and occasional live music and a post office and store that also provides top notch car repairs and servicing! See 'Other things to Note' for a whole lot more info. on what the area has to offer.
  • Our stay at Cameron & Jane's place was really beautiful. Thank you for having us. Lots of love

  • Brilliant place and brilliant hosts

  • A great setting for a restful stay. The converted barn is well furnished and kitted out with everything you may need. The bed was super comfy and the shower was so gooood! Cameron helped to get the fire to keep the place extra cozy and all communication was helpful and prompt. I would highly recommend a stay!

    Jen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • BEAUTIFUL area, BEAUTIFUL lodge. Cosy, comfortable and so inviting. Cameron & Jane were great hospitable hosts. A gorgeous rural place to get away from all the noise, to just sit back and relax. Our 2 dogs also very much enjoyed themselves! Would definitely recommend to anyone, and will definitely be staying here again! Thank you Cameron & Jane for a 5 star weekend.

  • A wonderful break in a beautiful cottage. So many thoughtful touches throughout from the owners. Will definitely return :)

    Samantha2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute dream of a mini getaway. The converted barnhouse complete with mezzanine nook bedroom and gorgeous wood burner, tucked away on a hill in the middle of the Welsh countryside. Cameron and Jane were delightful hosts. Everything, and I mean everything, was catered for with special little touches round the place. They were so friendly and helpful. Their homemade manual had all the tips and tricks about the accommodation and local info. Can not recommend highly enough. Thankyou for a wonderful holiday!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Beudy Penlan. Cameron showed us around when we arrived and was very welcoming! The cottage was beautifully presented and very good value for money. We would definitely return in the future.

    Sarah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start, this place is excellent. Cameron & Jane’s communication was amazing with huge amounts of information on the cottage and local area provided prior to our arrival. The cottage itself is an amazing space, with every aspect already anticipated. A fire had already been prepared for our arrival which was a lovely touch and the entire cottage was spotless. We ventured out one day to walk to the local village (40 min picturesque walk) but the cottage was that lovely we spent the rest of our 2 day stay in it. I would highly recommend staying here and I’m sure we will be going back again in the future. Thanks Cameron & Jane

    Aberystwyth, Ceredigion Wales, United Kingdom

My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
Easy access to Ceredigion coastal path. 10 miles to bustling harbour towns of Aberaeron and Aberystwyth. The hut is a handmade eco-friendly fusion of country charm and contemporary luxury, and contains everything you need for a relaxing break away: a full size double bed, wood burner, hot and cold running water, shower, flushing WC, tea making facilities. Set in an idyllic rural setting, we have frequent visits from a variety of birds including red kites, buzzards and jays. A superb spot for nature lovers and artists. Lighting is solar powered and the walls are insulated with sheep’s wool, helping to preserve the warmth from the wood-burning stove. The floor is re-claimed oak and all the ash is from local fallen trees. On arrival you will find; tea, coffee, milk, a fridge for your food, all necessary crockery and cutlery, hot water bottle, complimentary continental breakfast for your first morning and a complimentary basket of logs. There are also towels in the bathroom. The hut is located in a peaceful setting. Situated just a mile from the beach at Llanrhystud, you are surrounded by fields – sometimes with sheep - and the sound of our cockerel in the morning! Also on our smallholding there are dogs, cats and ducks. Peace and tranquillity surround you. There is minimal light pollution and the stars are easily visible on cloudless nights. Things for you to bring: Wellington boots – the grass around the hut is likely to be wet. Car - there are plenty of beaches and woodlands to explore in the area, many of which are not accessible by public transport. The tranquil, rural setting of the Shepherdess' Hut at Llanrhystud is the perfect place for a retreat, to escape from the pressures of daily life, regroup and recharge your batteries.
Easy access to the coastal village of Llanrhystud with its pub and village shop. 10 miles to bustling harbour towns of Aberaeron and Aberystwyth with great restaurants and interesting shops. Surfing at Aberarth, dolphin and seal watching trips from Newquay harbour. Beautiful rural location.

  • Really enjoyed our stay! Was lovely to spend time in nature, would return, thank you.

  • The hut was such a lovely experience and so relaxing. There is some internet signal available enough to keep in touch with home hut to become distracted. The fridge was stocked with a lovely little breakfast the wood stove was stacked and so warm! The location was great and only 40 minute drive to devils bridge which I would recommend. Brilliant stay!

  • Super cute remote hut for those who want to get away, enjoy some walks and fresh air

  • Excellent stay for two. Lovely secluded hut in an amazing area. Easy to get to aberystwyth for dinner

  • Amazing Little Place ... We Stopped Over On Our Way To Bath From North Wales ... Arrived Late To Find A Stocked Wood Burner Ready To Light & A Wood Basket To Keep Us Going ... And Found Amazing Continental Breakfast Ready For The Morning .. Would Recommend & Certainly Would Stay Again If We Are Ever In The Area

    Claire2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karen s place is cosy and at a first sight seems a bit small but after 4 days spent at hers I can happily say that it was wonderfully perfect for two young (ish!) travellers. It is equipped with everything you need for having a sustainable vacancy. You might need to have with you a torch as the lighting is solar powered so it s likely to ran out of power. Also there are no sockets in the cabin so you might need to reconsider what to pack. It is a perfect location for who looks for literally cutting off for a few days with their everyday lives. Highly recommended!

  • We stayed at Siobhan's caravan over Christmas whilst visiting family in the village. It's in a great location towards the top of the golf course so has wonderful views and is only a 15 minute walk into the local village and another 10 minutes to the beach. The caravan was clean, warm and comfortable for our family of 4 and was very well equipped; Siobhan kindly added lovely festive touches and left us a bottle of prosecco and a panettonne. The site is peaceful with great facilities.

    Jane2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for 3 nights for a quick Autumn getaway. I was slightly apprehensive about staying in a caravan when I saw cold weather had been forecast but Siobhan showed herself time be a brilliant host through making sure the place was lovely and warm when we arrived. Siobhan provided everything we could possibly have needed and more. Diolch yn fawr!

  • This was our favorite Airbnb ever. Set in a lovely caravan park with a golf course, swimming pool, club house , washer and dryer. Lots of room just like home. We were greeted with fresh eggs, milk, condiments and fresh cake. We had a problem lighting the stove and Our host cane right over to show us how. I highly recommend this lovely place

    Pat2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, great place to stay, spotlessly clean, we will be back.

    Dan2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic views, great places to visit, local shop had everything you need, 10 mins from Aberystwyth and Aberaeron

    Corin2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • It may sound cliche but Siobhan's caravan really is a home from home. The communication was amazing and the location was perfect. The decking is really useful outside space and the view of the sunset over the hills from the decking is a great way to end the day.

    Chris2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend staying here to anybody, it wasn’t too expensive, very peaceful, very clean and got welcome gifts too. Would recommend a visit to backyard bbq in Aberystwyth (which is a short drive) and fantasy farm park (which is a 5 min drive). We will definitely be returning, the area and surroundings are beautiful.

    Lyndsey2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, tranquil location. The caravan is really comfortable and spotless and my family and I enjoyed our stay considerably. The welsh cakes sitting in a cake tin on the side when we arrived were very welcome.

We welcome you to our spacious Sea View Cottage overlooking the panoramic views of Cardigan bay. Our Sea View Cottage is the perfect getaway for two people in a simply breath taking and peaceful location. The property is located on a working farm, and is attached to our farmhouse. Only a short distance from the local village with plenty of amenities and located nearby the public footpath.
  • The cottage has an incredible view of the sea, it was absolutely immaculate, I’m a bit of a clean freak and notice when places aren’t up to scratch but this place was beyond spotless! The underfloor heating throughout made the place feel very cosy. It was lovely that the kitchen was stocked with the basics, especially the fresh coffee!

    Mitchell2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Finally ... a place that really does have a sea view! And that is only the beginning . A beautiful , modern, clean and spacious apartment close to beautiful beaches . In easy reach of both Aberyswyth and Aberaeron you can really get out and see the sights. What more could you want ? Well you will find it here , the little additions that put a smile on your face at the end of what could be a long journey ... The fresh milk in the fridge along with the other essentials for a cuppa if you weren't able to stop on the way there , the kind hosts even put in enough for you to have a bit of breakfast the following morning ! With loads of towels and even shampoo in the bathroom , excellent wifi and television reception (when you can stop looking at the view!) along with comfortable beds and bedding this really is a gem of a place and we highly recommend it.

    Michael2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay, very comfortable, warm and everything you need. Stunning view! Great place to relax and unwind. Hosts are lovely people

    Brian2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start? The beautiful views? Thoughtful hosts? Comfortable beds? Warm floors? Husband and I had 2 nights here and couldn’t have been more pleased. My husband had no hand in The planning and is hard to please but I pulled this one off. The village is small but quaint and the walk back up the hill to suite was challenging but well worth it. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this home and would be thrilled to come back some day.

  • This is a gem of a place. Dont turn down with seeing the less number of reviews. It's a fantastic secluded little cottage perfect for 2 with all the basic amenities.the hosts are wonderful and quick to communicate and offer us any help required. The place is really nice and private enough although the owners stay next door. Plenty of parking space and excellent views of sea rolling county side and cattle. The kitchen is well equipped with basic essentials good enough to start your breakfast.we cooked our own meals too. Mind that they are 2 single cots and not ideal to join them into a double bed . The toilet was also damn clean n provided witn basic essentials so you dont have to go mad incase you forget your shampoo and soaps etc. Overall the place was sparkling clean and spotless.we would highly recommend and wont hesitate to come again! Thank you very much

Tyn y Fron is a real haven of tranquility in the West Wales countryside. Set within pleasant gardens, the cottage nestles between fields and woodland, with no immediate neighbours, and with spacious views from the back across the valley towards the hills. It's a great place for birdwatching. For all its privacy it is not remote, located one and a half miles from the village of Llanrhystud on the main coast road, and nine miles from the busy County town of Aberystwyth.
This is a place to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and beauty of the Ceredigion countryside. Its also a good place from which to explore all that West Wales has to offer, from beaches, mountains, walking, cycling, outdoor pursuits, bird watching, towns, castles, and steam trains. There is no TV at the cottage, but centre place in the living room is a large woodburning stove, along with plenty of books, and some games in the cupboard for children or family. (There's no WiFi access, although mobile phone coverage is good.) The conservatory is a great place to sit and relax in the day, with lots of light and lovely views, and in the evening the living room is very cosy with the fire.
Ceredigion has beautiful coastal scenery, fun and quirky Welsh towns to explore, endless unspoilt countryside and hills, and lots of wildlife: from Dolphins in the sea to Red kites soaring overhead. There's a Red Kite feeding centre twenty five minutes drive away, and the Osprey Centre 35 minutes away. There's good walking straight from the cottage. A wide path leads you down through woods to a stream where there's a beautiful little waterfall. There's an attractive stroll on the lanes to Llanrhystud, where there's a shop, post office, and pub that serves food every day. There's also a swimming pool, tennis courts, and golf open to the public at the Parc Penrhos on the edge of the village. The surrounding countryside is easily explored using footpaths and lanes. The long distance Welsh coastal path comes through Llanryhstud, where you can head south to the pretty harbour village of Aberaeron, or north to Aberytwyth. There is a pebbly beach in Llanrhystud (1.5 miles away) which is known for its surfing, but better family beaches are found in Aberystwth, or superb wide sandy beach 16 miles north at Ynyslas. There are excellent single track montain bike trails at the 'Nant y Arian' centre, 30 minutes drive away. Snowdonia National Park is an attractive 40 minute drive to the north.
  • Lovely cottage in rural setting. Ideal to chill out and enjoy nature. Had a warm fire waiting for us when we arrived. Nice walk down to river and waterfall straight from house. Hope to come back again.

  • We had such a wonderful, cosy stay at Polly's place. The location was great, tucked away down a long track but close enough to the coast and main road. The cottage was perfect, lovely and warm with the fire on and everything we needed. We thought the furniture and decor was stylish yet homely, and not too modern. Especially nice to have no TV! We would love to come and stay again.

    Stephen2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic location if you're looking for a break from it all- No streetlights, no traffic noise, no TV, just the radio and plenty of books. There is a lovely atmosphere to the house, the fire makes the living room especially cosy in the evening. It's only a short drive to Aberystwyth for supplies or a takeaway.

  • Great location and a magic place, very remote so if you are looking for a weekend break to unwind this is the best place. If you have a sports car you will struggle to get to the place but any other vehicle will be fine. Polly is a great host, thank you!

  • Great place to stay. Very quite. The cottage is amazing, very clean and stylish. The host Polly has provided every information you needed before check in. We will definitely come back again.

  • Amazing cottage to get away from it all. Extremely quaint and cosy. Wonderful walks close by and the overall location is in an extremely beautiful part of the world. Would highly recommend a visit here to anyone looking to stay in the area.

  • Polly's house met all our expectations. We immediately fell in love with Tyn y Fron cottage, thanks to its unique and very quiet location in the middle of the peaceful Welsh landscape. The cottage itself is very charming; the little porch - overlooking the beautiful garden - was our favourite spot. Very nice kitchen, also overlooking the garden, and a cosy living room. Great communication with Polly.

A first floor flat in a newly renovated farm house. The light filled spacious flat offers amazing décor and is perfect for singles, couples, a romantic retreat, a group of friends and families. The best part - it's a stone's throw from coastal path, river wyre and the beach!

  • Broc Mor is a lovely flat with good amenities

    Carolyn2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great apartment in an ideal location; it's a stone's throw from a play area which is great if you have young ones, attached to a great pub with good food. A short walk to the shore, albeit a rocky rather than a sandy one, and a short drive from either Aberystwyth or new quay, both of which are great for a seaside day out. The place itself is great, with modern smart TVs in every room. All in all I could not have asked for better, I'd highly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a stay by the Welsh coast and n a reasonable budget.

  • Amazing apartment with lots of homely touches. Everything was thought of, we ate at The Barn on site, food was really good , highly recommended.

  • This accommodation is highly recommended. Simple self check in and quick answers from the host in case of questions. The apartment was very clean. The playground across the street is great for the children and the adults can order a drink. Great accommodation!

  • Can't recommend this lovely clean apartment enough with a lovely outdoor area and in a very nice setting

    Allan2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Broc Mor was super and had everything we required with it's added touches and attention to detail. Our stay was a relaxing and enjoyable one. Parking outside the door and it is very close to Aberystwyth, New Quay and Cardigan. We also managed to see dolphins at Mwnt beach on one of our days out! Food from 'The Barn' was delicious. We look forward to booking in the future and would highly recommend to others!

    Helen2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend Charley's apartment. It's decorated beautifully and it far exceeded our expectations. Little touches like complimentary tea and cake, fresh clean towels, shampoo and shower gel. It's very modern and trendy and completed to a high standard. Great location to visit Aberystwyth and New Quay. Great kids park opposite the accomodation. Check in was simple via a lock box and Charley was easily contacted. We were made to feel very welcome during our stay. Thank you once again.

  • A really lovely cottage that is beautifully fitted out and sparkling clean. In fact, there should be a new category of sparking, sparkling clean for this Air BnB! The location is great - we had some fab walks and runs and we enjoyed going down to the beach. Aberystwyth is an easy drive. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and there is a well equipped kitchen. The cottage is warm and cosy, and the comms with Charley were prompt and helpful. This is a real find.

    Catherine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Charley's place is amazing and so well equipped. The bedrooms are super spacious and has some great festures. Bathroom is very well equipped and spacious. The living and outdoor area is extremely well presented and we enjoyed it. Overall, top host and excellent property. Location was great, local beach is less than 5mins walk away. Easy accces to places like aberytswth, new quay, devils bridge. There is a texaco across the main road which has almost evrything we needed from ready meals to any other things we needed. Top draw!!

  • We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone. Dog freindly but you wouldn't no smells fresh and very clean. Even have your own garden space. Couldn't have asked for more. Right next to the coastline and the barn on site was great. Really great value for money !

  • Wonderful property just next to a play park which was perfect for our kids. Lovely bathroom, very tasteful decoration and outside area was perfect for eating and drinking outside in the evening.

  • Beautiful stay in an amazing home full of tasteful decor. Nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful hosts :-)

    Gareth2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible experience with this Host. Upon arrival at the property, we were greeted by the host, who apologised for the property being slightly delayed for check in. However to compensate for this, we were offered a free meal across the road at the local restaurant, which was amazing and much enjoyed by all guests. Close to several beaches but also interesting hike routes. Restaurant and bar opposite and petrol station and convinience store 10min walk away. We were left with a welcome booklet with lots of information about local attractions, beaches and other useful info which was really handy as tourists completeley unfamiliar with the area. Could not recommend enough to anyone looking for somewhere in a great location.

  • Wow, what can I say! We had such a fantastic break. Ffermdy is absolutely beautiful and a perfect location for us with 2 boys who absolutely loved playing football and playing on the park. The hospitality at the Barn was brilliant and the food - wow!! We can’t wait to come back and we went gutted we could only stay for 3 nights! Thank you so much. My son who is 7 said he had the best holiday ever!!

    Elizabeth2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ffermdy is a brand new luxurious property and is very tastefully furnished and decorated. Everything was well thought out. Beds extremely comfortable. Parking just outside the door. A peaceful location, private garden, parking, BBQ, hot tub and fishing lake. Conveniently located for access to local amenities in Aberystwyth and Aberaeron, only 10 min drive to the coast. There are 2 nearby cottages that do not impact on the tranquility of the cottage.
The cottage is well equiped and bed linen is supplied. The hot tub is easy to use and we also supply sufficient logs for the first use of the log burner and hot tub. The hot tub will stay warm after that and will only require a small fire (about 1 to 2 sacks logs) for subsequent uses, logs are delivered at £4 a sack
A very tranquil location, full of wildlife
  • A stunning secluded property. The pictures do not do it justice. Jane was a great host and replied to all our messages very quickly. If you need complete rest in a lovely setting with beautiful coastlines a short drive away... this is absolutely for you! 🙌🏻❤️

  • Such a peaceful location in a spotlessly clean and well maintained caravan! It felt much bigger than any caravan I’ve stayed in before and was very well equipped. It’s situated in a large private well maintained garden garden and Terris and her husband are very friendly and hospitable. It made for a really comfortable stay and I wish I was still there now. I can’t remember the last time I saw so many stars. I really hope to be back soon. Thank you Terris!

  • We had a great stay at Shell's place! It is a lovely barn conversion, nicer than the photos, great finishes and decoration. Very warm and cozy but spacious, the perfect country getaway, with lovely views of country fields. We had at great start to 2020 at Shell's place!

    Mariana & Tomek2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous shed conversion, deep stone windows and exposed beams in the living space. Best of all, underfloor heating which makes the slate and tile floors comfy as toast. Bathroom is great, hot shower and heated towel rail ;) Kitchen has everything you need. Clean as a whistle. Views out the windows are lovely, it was drizzly for our days, which added to the atmosphere across the fields and we gladly stayed indoors near the gas log fire. I even finished a book I’ve been carrying for a year. After the rain left, the animals appeared, a curious kitty at the bedroom window, chickens around the side paddock, tame sheep and ponies at the back fence just beyond the living room French doors. All up, exactly what we were looking for... privacy and comfort in a well set up space. Thanks Shell and Rob.

    Sally2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a fabulous relaxing time. The facilities at the barn were all we needed. Would suggest a larger sign at the turn-off from the main road as we missed it on two occasions. Shell and her family are excellent hosts - there when needed, but not 'in your face'. The animals, both pets and farm, were for us an added attraction as we were welcomed on our return from days out by cats and dogs, but they to, were not intrusive. We will be back again probably at a different season . The French doors and patio gave us enjoyable breakfasts in the sunshine. All in all the barn provided an EXCELLENT break.

    Alex2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in the barn. Great countryside views and lovely sunsets. Handy for trips to Aberaeron and Aberystwyth. Shell and Rob were great hosts.

    Judy2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Perfectly clean and modern but with a homely feel. The view of the sunset is great and the barn has its own outside area to enjoy. The hosts are so welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommended. Thanks.

  • A hidden gem, what a lovely place to stay. The barn is beautiful - well equipped, spotlessly clean and in such a quiet, peaceful location - great for exploring the area or sitting on the patio and watching the red kites circling. Shell is such a kind, welcoming host, we'll definitely return.

  • Home made biscuits and cake plus everything as listed. Lovely people and a great location to walk the coastal path. The local pub was also fab. Thank you

    Jill2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryn is an exceptional host. The communication prior to the booking was first class. After a long drive we were warmly welcomed and given homemade cake and tea in our private comfortable lounge. The whole house was spotless and there was even a chocolate on the fluffy white towels on the bed. The beds were really comfortable and the room so quiet we had nice long sleeps!. Tea and coffee ( and biscuits) in the room were most welcome after a walk on the coastal path ( which is really close). If you are looking for a relaxing break then a stay with Kathryn is the place.

The Bakery is a four star, converted, characterful, stone-built barn surrounded by peaceful countryside in a lovely rural setting. Just 7 miles from Aberystwyth, a Victorian seaside resort with a promenade and pier, and 8 miles from the beautiful harbour town of Aberaeron with its colourful Georgian houses. The nearest village of Llanrhystud offers a post office and shop, a pub, church and petrol station with small supermarket. The property offers superfast fibre wifi.
This delightful, cosy cottage was once the bakery for the neighbouring property, Felin Carrog, a beautiful 19th century former corn mill.
  • We loved spending New Year's Eve at The Bakery - a perfect place to get away from everything and wind down. The accommodation itself was great, very clean and comfortable and of course the wood burner made everything extra cosy! Aberaeron and Aberystwyth are 15/20 mins drive away so it's very easy to find nice beaches and stuff to do nearby. Would definitely recommend!

Converted stone barn near the village of Nebo just 10 minutes from Cardigan Bay. This is a lovely base for a family holiday with plenty of open space for children to enjoy.
  • Very warm welcome from Llinos. The cottage is spaceful, peaceful and very confortable. It is very clean. A lot of documents are available in order to discover the Wales. A big supermarket (Morrison's) is only at 20 minutes by car from the cottage. We did enjoy very much our 2 weeks stay.

Situated in a self-contained wing of the farmhouse, there is a large double bedroom (with kingsize and single beds), private bathroom and lounge/breakfast room. There is a large TV with Freeview, a selection of games and puzzles, a library of books and you’re welcome to explore and relax in the gardens/grounds. And WiFi is available if you want to remain connected to the real world! Cereals, milk, orange juice, yoghurt & bread are provided along with a kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave.
If you want to get away from it all and get back to nature, then come and visit. You have your own space to eat, relax and sleep. You are welcome to explore the farm and there is a public footpath that leads directly into a local forestry commission area. We offer cooked breakfast options at additional cost from our Rhydgaled free range eggs and bacon/sausage from our free-range, outdoor-reared Saddleback pigs. Breakfast can be ordered by 10pm the night before required and payment by cash. We also welcome you with some home-made shortbread. If you'd like to order one of our farmhouse cakes as an alternative - perhaps for a family get together or just a weekend treat - then these can be made to order if requested in advance. Options include a traditional Victoria Sponge, Coffee & Walnut, Gin & Tonic cake, Lime & Blueberry Drizzle, Traditional Farmhouse Fruit Cake, scones etc. Order prior to arrival - payment by cash. We can cater for gluten/dairy free, vegetarian/vegan diets upon request.
There is plenty to explore in this beautiful area of West Wales. Stunning beaches with plenty of marine wildlife, the Wales Coastal Path, woodland and hillside walks and of course, the Red Kites. Steam railways, marine wildlife boat trips, mountain biking can also be found on our doorstep. There are some lovely local towns and villages to visit – Aberaeron and New Quay in particular are very pretty coastal towns to explore. And there are some great places to eat locally as well. Ask us for recommendations. Or if you prefer, just stay put, enjoy the peace and quiet – and if you’re really keen, you’re welcome to help feed the animals and get involved in any other farm activities that happen to be going on during your visit.
  • Another lovely stay at Lindsey and Paul's place. Warm and comfortable, quiet and peaceful. Just what we needed. Thanks again guys!

  • Lovely one night stay at Lindsey and Paul's place. A warm welcome, fabulous surroundings and a very comfortable property. We had the perfect blend of a beautiful walk, relaxed evening and great sleep. To have a delicious breakfast cooked for us in the morning was the icing on the cake. Thanks Lindsey and Paul. We'll be back soon!

  • Lindsey was very friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night while visiting friends, so didn’t see much of the farm but the property is very clean and had everything we needed.

  • This place is located on a small farm in a remodeled and renovated annex to the main house. There is a fireplace and you can see the wooden beams on the ceiling so it feels quite comfortable, it is also quite spacious. Lindsey and Paul are great hosts and the contact was a pleasant experience. There are many animals on the farm so it is a great place for kids.

  • Paul & Lindsey were lovely. Accommodated our 8.30 arrival, had a lovely fire lit for us. The accommodation is lovely, beds comfortable and cosy, they set up a travel cot for us and my granddaughter loved her interaction with the animals. It's so peaceful there. Would like to have stayed longer.

Cottage was clean and tidy and well equipped, kitchen tools, washing machine, cute dishwasher, TV, board games, books and general peace and quiet. Highly recommended, looking forward to revisiting in the future xx

  • Sally's communication was perfect. Very quick responses. A home from home. Parking space immediately outside the cottage. Very nice setting. Accommodation and garden much nicer than expected from the photos. We visited Aberaeron and New Quay, just 15-20 mins drive away, both worth a visit. We walked the dog up the hill through the golf course. Also walked to the coast, although the beach isn't sand, it's a nice walk. We would stay again if in the area.

  • It is a very nice little cottage a bit out of the woods edge. But very idyllic with cows in front of the window and a nice garden. The equipment has everything you need and it is very clean and tidy. We felt very well there for a week and would go there anytime. The communication with Sally was an absolute dream and we were even able to check out the house and a bit later.

We're all about slow, simple, sustainable living. We're a place to be part of rural Wales not simply looking in on it from outside. We want our guests to discover and love wild Ceredigion in the same way we do, not as a visitor but as a local. Cwt Mochyn cottage is for a family or friends in search of an escape. Step out of the fast lane, enjoy away-from-it-all tranquillity, wildlife and sustainable comfort in our little patch of rural West Wales. Winner, Best Self-catering, Green Tourism UK.
The outbuildings and acres of Banceithin were unloved for many years. Out of the mess we've created a home, two environmentally friendly holiday cottages, a wildlife haven and thriving smallholding, all nestled in a secluded valley just a 20 minute drive from the pretty Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron in Ceredigion. Cwt Mochyn cottage is a stylish reinvention of an old cow barn and pig sty built in the early 1800's. Sacrificing nothing in terms of style and comfort, this spacious detached six person, three bedroom cottage is also environmentally friendly, the winner of a Green Tourism Gold Award. A contemporary fitted kitchen has all the mod-cons, but reclaimed and hand-made furniture not found in any catalogue or department store give it a character all its own. A wood burning stove, vintage Welsh wool blankets and hot water bottles keep all the family extra toasty on winter nights. You don't even need to go out for provisions as organic vegetables, fruit, milk and bread, and a selection of Welsh cheeses, can be ordered and will be in your cottage ready and waiting for your arrival. Banceithin is a wildlife haven & in a dark skies area. Perfect for birdwatching & stargazing. Nature guides, binoculars and pond dipping kit are available for wildlife explorers, and planisphere and telescope for astronomers. For older children, there’s a giant outdoor chessboard and shared indoor Games Room equipped with dartboard and table tennis table. For younger children, there’s a Nature Adventure Box packed with ideas for outdoor fun, a treasure hunt around the smallholding and a treehouse for den building. All the family can get together in the evening to cook dinner over the fire pit and roast marshmallows.
Bethania is a rural village in an agricultural area. There's plenty to do outside our gate: spend the days walking the remote hills following the footsteps of Welsh drovers and miners; paraglide off Pumlumon mountain; tee off by the sea at Cardigan Golf Club; enjoy a long beach walk and picnic in the dunes at Ynys-las; get out on the Cardigan Bay sea to dolphin spot in a kayak or on a boat; meet the Welsh farming community at the local real ale pub or for something more cosmopolitan try the Harbourmaster, Summer Grill or Hive in Aberaeron; shop for local produce at markets in Cardigan, Aberystwyth and Aberaeron; visit studios of local artists Moriath Glass & Helen Elliott; treat yourself to vintage Welsh wool blankets & clothes from Jane Beck's Ty Zinc shop; step back in time at Cilgerran.
  • The cottage is lovely, everything you need is there. Phillipa and David’s attention to detail is amazing. I have never come across such a comprehensive guide on what to do in the area, places to visit, how far they are away and how long it takes to get there. Walking guides of the area, which are tried and tested. There are loads of games to play, books to read and dvd,s to wAtch. There are even delicious frozen meals you can buy. I didn’t want to leave, there was so much we didn’t get a chance to do so we will have to go back. Lovely, lovely cottage, hosts and surrounding area.

It sits in the centre of Ceredigion’s stretching cove, with New Quay seven miles to its south and Aberystwyth sixteen miles to its north. It's home to centuries-old Georgian homes, brightened in an assortment of colourful facades, that sit humbly around the harbour. Enjoy a stroll along the black-pebbled beach with Aberaeron’s famous honey ice cream in hand, or some local seafood and traditional Welsh food from a selection of restaurants and pubs.
  • Clean and reasonably priced. The host had left us some breakfast stuff, waters etc. and there was tea and coffee so it was well appointed. She had also turned the heating on for us which was greatly appreciated on quite a chilly night. Beds were comfy enough and it was perfect for 4 of us for a reasonably priced nights stay.

Our lovely spacious holiday home is close to the sea with panoramic views of Cardigan Bay. With one king sized bed, one double and two single beds, this peaceful location is perfect for a large family or groups of friends. The property sits alongside a public footpath leading down to a kids playground and the sea, with beautiful views from the house and large back garden. The popular Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is a short bus ride away, with buses leaving regularly from the end of the road.

  • Loved our Christmas at Prysg Villa. The house was super clean and welcoming. The thoughtful treats and essentials that they left for us were much appreciated after our long drive (particularly the wine and mince pies). The host had put out lots of festive decorations so it really felt like home from home. The play park just along the pathway was brilliant for our two young kids and we really enjoyed exploring new quay (we saw dolphins!), Aberystwyth, cardigan, and devils bridge. The locals were lovely and chatty too. We will definitely return.

  • We had an amazing time at the cottage. The house was spotlessly clean and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. Beach being just down the path was great and the village is a little goldmine of shortcuts and footpaths, some really nice walks down there. Park was 100m away down the footpath and all the locals walking past were lovely and helpful and the neighbours are great and told us where to visit and where not to bother with. We loved the cottage and the village and we will definitely be back; We couldn’t have been made more welcome by Ifor and his wife and although we didn’t need anything (as the house was well equipped), they were on hand just in case. A thoroughly lovely place that my children will remember for a long time to come.
