The Willow Treehouse is settled among the trees, overlooking a small, swimmable pond, on a wooded property 15min away from the town of Woodstock. It is cozy, yet has all you need to cook dinner, enjoy reading, chilling, or swimming. Separate spaces for chilling, writing a novel or enjoying the view. The sleeping loft is accessible by a ladder, and you would have to walk in with your luggage, so pack lightly. It is perfect for couples and solo adventurers.
Designed by Antony Gibbon and built by William Johnson the Treehouse is a passion project that came to life.
Secluded and quiet, but only 15 minutes from downtown's many shops and restaurants

    Devin2020-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • cozy, sweet little getaway! the cabin was beautiful & immaculately clean. the kitchen is a dream to cook in & the wood burning fire place makes the cabin smell dreamy. the beds were very comfortable, and there was more than enough space for our family. i hope to return in the summer!

  • A fun getaway place. We felt rested and relaxed after two carefree days at the Black A-Frame. Clean and comfortable. We loved the new heated chairs on the deck...perfect for late night drinks and star gazing.

    Claire2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • House and amenities were exactly as described! We loved being cozy by the fire and cooking. Bed was super comfortable. Jeremy responded to our messages (before and during stay) lightning fast. Really couldn’t ask for anything more.

    Janine2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful A-Frame Cabin in the woods that was exactly as depicted in the pictures on AirbnB and Instagram. Stunning natural light through the windows, a lovely fireplace. This is the place to decompress, chill and enjoy time together. We had a lovely weekend away! A few helpful pieces of feedback for fellow travelers: - I was impressed by how clean the place was, particularly bathrooms & kitchen (by far the cleanest I've seen an AirBnb) - The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots & pans, dinnerware etc. Only thing missing was supplies such as aluminum foil or plastic wrap etc (no biggie) - Water - as the cabin is on a well/septic system you can't drink the tap water and when we arrived there was only a small amount of drinking water left in the Brita system in the fridge. The spring water tap isn't a far drive and was easy to access but we definitely wish we had been made aware to get some before arrival and/or that the Brita was full. - Clean and comfy beds & bedding - such a treat! - Fireplace was lovely and such a central point of our evenings with firewood supplied. - As the place is booked continuously, we had the cleaning company knocking on the door at 12:00pm sharp on our checkout day. We were a bit surprised by the promptness right at noon and having people appear before we left, but as checkout is noon we were packing up our bags to leave anyways as we should. I would definitely recommend the cabin for anyone looking to escape the city! Thank you Jeremy!

Discover a mix of modernity and history in this re-imagined barn built in the 1870s. The home features original architectural beams and exposed brick, a cozy fireplace, a back porch, wood finishes, a vibrant use of color, and a BBQ.
This home is a peaceful and relaxing spot. There are three good-sized bedrooms with queen size beds, plus an extra queen size air mattress. The kitchen is large and has lots of coffee, tea, dishes, cups, utensils for your meals. We've spotted deer and wild turkeys wandering through the backyard. The animals seem to love the creek running through the property. You'll also likely hear a variety of birds. There's a projector screen that you're welcome to use with Amazon and Netflix. You're also welcome to sit around the fireplace in the living room and use the propane grill out back.
The area is home to 300,000 acres of Catskill Mountain hiking trails, and the Big Deep is a great swimming hole in the summertime. A five minute drive away is downtown Woodstock with a variety of shops and galleries.
  • We had a lovely weekend at Zack's place! This home is the perfect balance of having a ton of character and feeling very homey while not having a ton of overly personal items. It's easy to feel right at home here, and there's plenty to do between the corn hole set, large projector, and many games. Zack was communicative and easy to reach. I would definitely stay again!

    Tatiana2020-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, nice projector for watching movies, nice stay all around!

    Daniel2020-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Zack’s Woodstock cabin was the perfect upstate retreat. The house had everything we needed for a relaxing, socially distanced stay. All of the rooms are tastefully decorated with every amenity you might need. I especially appreciated the historical artwork and memorabilia. The kitchen was well-stocked. The fireplace was amazing to have, especially since we had cooler weather during our visit. The yoga room is great. Our dog loved the screened-in porch and leashed zipline in the backyard.

    Robert2020-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Zach’s place - will be back!

    Xavier2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • I have never felt more instantly at home than in Zack’s house in Woodstock. The living room is ultra cozy, the beds are so comfortable, the babbling brook in the backyard was beautiful, the entire house was totally stocked. Couldn’t have asked for more and Zack made sure we felt totally welcome and taken care of. A+ stay.

    Conor2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Zack’s house is a wonderful mix of modern and rustic. We enjoyed all the games and amenities. Also, my husband and I both agreed this was the very best fireplace we had seen! The bed in the downstairs bedroom was amazingly comfortable. We would love to return!

    Ioana2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This farmhouse is so cozy and comfortable and in a great location! We loved our week in the country and the house was stocked with anything we could have needed for our stay. Zack was communicative and helpful before and during the stay and has really made the house feel like a cozy special getaway. You are just a few minute drive away from downtown Woodstock with great shops and places to eat and close to Saugerties which was a nice way to spend a day. A few things to be aware of: the shower pressure was low, to be expected from an old home. We visited in feb so of course it was cold outside and hard to keep the main floor warm, even with the various heaters, main system and a fire.

    Veronica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Zack’s home was incredibly comfortable and spacious with such a cool design! Great location and fireplace made us feel right at home!

Acclaimed painter Reginald Marsh's family estate is known to be unique for Woodstock with its ball shaped junipers, a pond that brackets the house, expansive lawns, a gathering of birches and 100 year old cone shaped cedar trees.  Today the 800sft architect-renovated former carriage house of the estate is an updated space decorated in a warm mid-century featured as Freshgrub unique property, and most recently at Icon Design Magazine. The Carriage House comes with views to the stream and a private swim hole with waterfall, outdoor dining with charcoal grill and multiple outdoor lounge areas.
If you want to fall asleep to the stereo lullaby of frog croaks while watching the spectacle of fireflies competing with stars, this is the place. Frederick Dana Marsh, father of the well known Social Realist painter Reginald Marsh, married Mabel Van Alstyne in 1930, starting a notable artistic partnership as the Van Alstyne Marsh Collection that was later acquired by the Smithsonian Institution. Their home was unique for Woodstock—'It was in the background of the Mona Lisa; a Van Gogh landscape; a train ride through Tuscany—ball shaped junipers;  a pond that bracketed the house;  expansive lawns; a gathering of birches.  But most of all, big cone shaped cedar trees.  It is a marvelous thing to look up at backlit clouds at sunset—see the intrusion of cedar peaks, pointing up like soft missles and the erratic flight of mosquito catcher bats making ninety degree turns down the channels between the trees.  A photographer friend was here last weekend and I told her, “Don't worry about framing the picture, just point and shoot.  The landscaper framed it for you seventy years ago." ' Here I quote Austin Metze, who knows this piece of land long before it put a spell on us. To be there is to inhabit an idyllic painting. Sit in the property's own Hidden Chair Waterfall or chill at the secluded sandy beach swim hole a one minute stroll away through enchanted woods, take a hike up Milk Mountain or across the stream up the trails of the neighboring nature preserve for a Sunday brunch in town and visit to the flea market. Or just read a good book under a cypress tree. The Cottage House is on the same property as the Pond House, occasionally available for rent at 'Woodstock Historic Artist Estate' listing. Both houses are very private. There are three houses next to each other, the Cottage House, the old Farm House that is permanently rented to our dear Lainey and Austin, and the Pond House, currently owner-occupied. The Cottage House faces the stream with waterfall and small swim hole and the great lawn on one side and the woods and 'Milk Mountain' on the other, with an outdoor chaise overviewing the legendary Indian Head mountain ridge. The house is an architect-renovated 800sft two bedroom, one bath, sleeping 5 by means of a sofa bed in the living room. We provide linens, towels and other necessities. The house has an outdoor dining area with charcoal grill, as well as lounge chairs by the waterfall. Rates November-March: (except holidays): Weekends $225/night Week Days $150/night Weekly/Monthly 10% off Cleaning Fee $150 CHECK IN 2pm CHECK OUT 10am Rates April-October: Weekends $275/night Week Days $225/night Weekly/Monthly 10% off Cleaning Fee $150 CHECK IN 2pm CHECK OUT 10am We have a one night minimum policy, except weekends require two nights, holidays three nights. find us on Instagram as marsh__meadows
Idyllic setting bordering a public preserve, short walking distance to the center of Woodstock. Two rental houses are separated by the main house, facing away from each other ensuring privacy. No other house is visible from inside the Carriage House with its own designated back yard facing the stream. The swim hole is shared with the Pond House, with a second, larger swim hole a short stroll through the woods away. An outdoor day bed overviews the legendary Indian Head mountain ridge.
  • I almost want to write a bad review so I can have this place to myself. We loved our stay and didn’t want to leave. Nin and her husband were lovely and welcoming and we look forward to staying again!

  • Amazing place, stayed for a whole week. Beautiful property set back in an awesome location away from the hustle and bustle, yet easy to get to town. Apt is very well decorated and functional. Highly recommend for a relaxing retreat.

    Michael2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful modern cottage. We spent a romantic weekend in Woodstock and the cottage was just what we expected. The owners have great style and taste. The place is small but super cozy and comfortable. The view to the pond and stream was my favorite aspect. Sitting on the sofa looking out at this view is what I would come back and rent again for. The kitchen and bath are modern and well equipped which is rare for short term rentals at this rate. A great value overall.

    Laurent2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nin was wonderfully communicative and maintains a beautiful space that's incredibly close to downtown Woodstock. The perfect getaway!

    Emilio2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time! Especially as trip to get away from NYC, the cottage was cozy and quaint and very peaceful. It was furnished to feel like a dream home and it felt that way. I look forward to returning in the future.

    Marc2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • A magical spot- beautifully decorated in a tranquil setting by the stream. Close in to town but feels private and remote. The interior was wonderfully decorated and thoughtful in its style. An amazing find!

Exquisite mountain views, immaculate cleanliness, cozy wood stove, beautifully deigned, great bed, all amenities, freshly roasted coffee, well-equipped kitchen, good Wi-Fi (adequate for working remotely), cable TV, Netflix, and serenity! For your health and safety, we sanitize all hard surfaces, steam clean all soft surfaces, and maintain rigorous cleanliness standards. Close to everything, far from everyone. Due to Covid-19, Woodstock prohibits stays under 14 nights until state of emergency is lifted. Significant discounts for 2 weeks or more. PLUS status, registered with town and county.
Our little cabin is made and furnished with great care and attention to detail. The space is comfortable and homey, bright and flooded with fresh mountain air. Many of the pieces are hand made and those that are not were chosen for both their aesthetic and functionality. We offer high speed internet access, full service internet TV, Netflix, and a full kitchen with every utensil and pot/pan you need (we've been to a bunch of airbnb's and we hardly ever saw a decent sized spaghetti pot!) and hand crafted bathroom with shower. The views from every window are exquisite - from the front we have miles and miles of national park that change in appearance every day. Whether its covered in fog, changing leaves, bright sunshine or fresh snow Mount Guardian delivers a constantly changing and stunning landscape. Enjoy your morning cup from one of the hammock chairs, the couch, or with a newspaper at the kitchen table... At night , forego the tech and curl up in front of the fire with one of our books, or set up a board game with a glass of wine. The place is cozy warm in the coldest months, and although we have air conditioning, its rare that you'll need it. When you're ready - jump into our queen sized memory foam bed before deciding to get one for yourself (yes - its that good and we're happy to share the details). and gaze up through the skylight at the stars. If you're used to sleeping with constant light and noise you'll be amazed at how well rested you feel after just a couple nights on the mountain. Skiers- we can't guarantee the snow, but the cabin is 20 miles from Hunter, 31 miles to Windham, and 36 miles to Belleayre. Inquire about our mid-week skier specials (Sunday night through Friday morning). We are pet friendly, but only small and medium sized dogs (sorry, we can't allow cats). We charge a cash deposit on arrival, and return it to you at the end of your stay. If you would like to bring a dog, PLEASE SEND AN INQUIRY (DO NOT USE INSTANT BOOKING). We have some pet guidelines which you need to read and agree to first. Nothing huge or surprising, but due to some irresponsible pet owners, we like to be clear before you book. If you are planning to come by motorcycle, PLEASE send an inquiry (do not use instant booking). Special Events in the area: June: Taste of Country and Mountain Jam at Hunter Mountain (Both are great by the way!) June through October: Usually something just about every weekend. Check out what is going on at Levon Helm Studios, Bearsville Theatre, the Colony, Maverick Concerts. Many other music and theater venues a little farther off. Mid October: The view of the changing leaves is spectacular Mid October: Woodstock Film Festival. Book early. This brings big crowds to our little town. Late October: Woodstock Luthier Festival November: Halloween in Woodstock is an event not to be missed. Half for the kids, half for all the folks around here who haven't abandoned their 8 year old. A LOT of fun. Christmas: when Santa comes to Woodstock, most of the town turns out for the welcome party. Like no other.
The cottage is set in the secluded woods of Mt. Guardian, four miles from the center of Woodstock. Explore artist workshops and colonies, excellent music venues, great restaurants, bars, and plenty of cool little shops. Hiking, skiing, swimming, and tubing are all nearby. Licensed massage therapist available next door or in cabin (please book in advance). It's beautiful up here every season- spring and fall are magical, summer swimming, tubing, exploring and winter skiing and times by the fire.
  • Harvey’s guesthouse was nothing short of a slice of heaven. He was extremely kind and hospitable and made me feel extremely welcome. The cabin is beautifully designed, has stunning Mountain View’s and is a short car ride to the heart of Woodstock. The bed was extra cozy. Can’t recommend more. Thank you Harvey for your extreme warmth and kindness especially during the pandemic - I hope to be back soon.

  • Amazing little getaway spot. Owners located next door and are easy/pleasant/helpful!

    Michael2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 would recommend to everyone I know. Can’t wait to come back to this lovely little getaway! Loved everything from grinding the host’s fresh roasted coffee and enjoying a cup each morning and evening on the porch, to easy-to-assemble fires thanks to the well thought out guidebook. Open the door and lounge on the Eames chair and listen to the symphony of birds. Harvey was very friendly, welcoming and easy to communicate with. We appreciated his hospitality so very much.

    Lauren Brynn2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice made-for-airbnb spot. Cozy, comfy bed, simple but with everything you need. Please note that the owners live next door, who are very nice and welcoming, also live next door, so if you're looking for something complete complete privacy, this isn't the place. Still, it's clean, well done and styled, and a nice stay overall.

    Jonathan2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Harvey’s place was immaculate, well equipped, and very convenient to Woodstock and other Catskill attractions. Harvey is very welcoming and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

    Matt2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a top notch cabin! My wife and I stayed here to celebrate her birthday weekend. Harvey and Linda made us feel right at home. The cabin was beautiful and spotless. They were extremely accommodating and gave us plenty of ideas for things to do, places to eat, etc. We also really appreciated the welcome book and guide that was provided at the cabin. It made our stay as easy as possible. We loved our stay here and we would absolutely recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a quality stay in the mountains.

    Jason2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It doesn’t get lovelier than this. I really didn’t want to leave... so Harvey offered me a late check-out, a couple of extra hours with my pup for a long walk in the woods out back, an extra cup of coffee lazing on the porch looking out at the mountains in the distance. I’ll be returning as soon as I can.

    Cindy2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend getaway here! Harvey was a great host, providing excellent dining recommendations and dropping off fresh-roasted coffee on the day we arrived. The guesthouse was private, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Amazing location-- felt like it was tucked away from all civilization, but actually quite conveniently located near Woodstock. We plan to return!

We have been given the official OK from the local authorities to welcome guests back! Contact us anytime with specific questions about availabilities and local amenities! We think this is a great setting and we hope you will too. The location is close to what we think is the best of the Hudson Valley. Dogs welcome by request! There is a $25 dog fee, one dog max, to be paid in cash. Place $ in jar at The Garret before checking out. Thank You! Enjoy!
So it's a garret and it's above the garage up a flight of stairs. But... It's minutes to the Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park... four miles to High Falls and Stone Ridge, the High Falls Food Co-op, restaurants (The Egg's Nest, The Kitchenette, or vegetarian @ The Rosendale Cafe), little shops (check out vintage country furniture and other wares @ "Downtown" in Accord from 12-5 on weekends), antique stores, three fabulous family-run farm stands, and a three season flea market (in High Falls on Sundays from April thru October)...Three minute stroll down to private Rondout Creek access...Two minutes to scrumptious views of the ridge from the lawn...and has a mini kitchenette, bath with shower (no tub), and most things you might need! The Garret is about 500 square feet of open living space with WiFi, a king size bed, Moroccan carpet, pickled pine floors, lofted ceiling, AC, warm in winter, big comfy velvet covered couch, just a few pots and pans and utensils, two burner stove (no oven), under the counter fridge, and big wall of windows with view of Minnewaska in winter. All this on 30 acres minutes from hiking/climbing/biking in the Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park. We are located just 90 miles from the George Washington Bridge in NYC. Off exit 18/New Paltz on the New York State thruway, it is a twenty minute scenic drive over the Shawangunk Ridge, just past the famous Mohonk Mountain House and trailheads for the Mohonk Preserve. Although we do definitely offer one night stays, it is for last minute availability or mid-week stays mostly (Sunday through Thursday). Generally we like a two night minimum stay on the weekend and for some holidays, three nights. Contact us and we would be happy to see what will work! WE DO NOT GENERALLY OFFER REFUNDS FOR STORMY WEATHER, COLD WEATHER, SNOW STORMS, ETC. Please be prepared for country driving and being snowed or iced in for a number of hours during active weather. We have a wonderful plow person who keeps our driveway passable and at time will salt and sand for us. He times his passes for maximum effectiveness and does not plow continuously. It can be wonderful fun in the winter to just get cosy, or get out and enjoy the snow!
We are in an historic district along an old canal from the 1800s that is a small concentration of homes from that period. Our 30 acre property at the top of a hill above a creek is accessed by a private lane. We are 3 miles from the Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park is about 15 minutes away. This is a gorgeous part of the Hudson Valley dotted with scenic routes, with 25,000 acres of protected land right in the neighborhood! Many guests like to explore the farm stands, orchards, wineries, a distillery, the Walkway Across the Hudson River, historic Hudson River Estates, vintage and antique stores, hiking, biking, and much more.
  • Another peaceful stay with Sterrett!

    Jennifer & Alan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sterrett has been very hospitable, friendly, communicative and helpful! Her guides and messages are accurate and sufficient enough to help us easily figure out everything. THE GARRETT is very neat and wonderfully decorated! It is quite spacious and cozy. We especially love the bed - so soft and comfy! We would definitely love to recommend this place to others who visit Mohonk or other Hudson Valley area.

    Rachel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very clean and the interior was beautiful. Would stay here again!

    Sejeong2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated and relaxing -- the king bed's memory foam mattress was fantastic and made for a great night sleep! Sterrett was incredibly easy to get in touch with and the check-in/check-out process was effortless.

    Daniel2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sterrett's place is a lovely and rustic-chic studio getaway. The bed is very comfortable, and the location is just the right mixture between secluded and convenient to things to do. Sterrett goes above and beyond to share local gems with travelers.

    Kristina2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Neat space, quiet.

    Matthew2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sterrett’s studio was a delightful find! We couldn’t have found a better last minute getaway stay. The Garrett is located in an amazing little town in the Hudson River Valley; close to outdoor activities, good restaurants, great breweries. The studio is spotless, which makes it all the more special that it is pet friendly. The small kitchen has everything you could need. It was cold and snowy so we didn’t get to explore the property, but it is a beautiful plot of land on top of a hill with some great views. Hospitality is truly 5 stars. We cannot wait to come back to stay with Sterrett again!

We were also rated one of "Ten Coolest Small Towns in America" by Budget Traveler. Our guests hail from all parts of the world to this very small hamlet. Phoenicia was recently featured in Travel and Leisure's 25 Easy Weekend Getaways. We are part of the watershed that supplies water to 9 million customers including all of NYC. Our hamlet of Phoenicia has a population of around 300 yet hosts monumental events like the International Festival of the Voice with panache. We are near four ski resorts: Belleayre, Hunter, Windham and Plattekill The Phoenicia Library lends out fishing poles and ukuleles. You are always, always near a world-class hiking trail. Our beloved local poet is a candidate at every presidential election. Most of our friends think Phoenicia has a vibe that’s cooler than Woodstock. We keep the location of swimming holes secret until we’re sure you will respect our pristine waters. Farm-to-table foodies will be in good company. The first ski area in the state of NY was located just down the street from us. Birding is exceptional. Hummingbirds visit us in the summer. You can spot magnificent American Bald Eagle. They nest near the Esopus Creek (really a river) where they catch fish. We get excited about the annual garden tour and the yearly artists tour. Visit with local peeps at the Arts Upstairs openings and community gatherings every month. For culinary treats buy local: Migliorelli's Farm Stand or Mt. Tremper Farms on Rt. 28 Most of the area is a protected forest preserve with wildlife galore. There is a plethora of sports and cultural activities, a world-class spa, fabulous restaurants at all price ranges, fun shops, awesome bakeries, to meet the needs of the most discerning travelers. Our guests hail from all parts of the world to this very small hamlet. For these reasons and many more, we think we have an awesome place to live. Our goal is to share it with you and make sure you have an enjoyable and restorative stay and return rejuvenated.
The Esopus Cottage is located on quiet, safe, historic, residential neighborhood at the foot of Woodland Valley, near the best hiking and skiing in the Catskills. Walk to the Esopus Creek, 2 blocks away or Main Street, Phoenicia, less than a mile. Hang out in the back yard: make a bonfire, hang out at the tiki bar, nap in the hammock, picnic in the seating areas.
  • Lovely spot! It’s a bit smaller than we expected, but the space that they do have is really nice. The backyard is so nice and our dog felt very at home!

  • Alma & James’ home was exactly what we needed for a low key weekend getaway! We truly felt like we were at home at this beautiful cottage. The loft is very sweet and romantic and the home feels spacious even though it looks small from the outside. I only wish we could have been here during the summer so we could enjoy the outside tiki bar!

    Lexi2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a relaxing stay at Alma and James' little cottage. Loved the fireplace and proximity to Phoenicia, Woodstock, and hiking trails. We brought our small dog and there was plenty of room for us. The house rules were clear and easy to understand. We'd gladly stay again.

    Stanton2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is extremely close to the town of Phoenicia and has everything you could want in the Catskills. I particularly enjoyed the book of information and recommendations that they left which I found very helpful. They have a fireplace which heats the place and makes you feel like you are all nestled in.

    Caroline2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful use of the space, the stay made us feel cozy and comfortable. Love all the different options to stay on the property. Microspikes at the barn are a thoughtful touch in case you go hiking in the winter.

    Jeremy2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our short stay at the cottage! The space was perfect for a couple and it kept nice and warm with the lovely fireplace. We were able to cook our meals in the home but there are definitely food options nearby. We would recommend for couples or even larger parties as they have a few other homes on the property and they all share a backyard. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Very nice clean home- smaller than what it seems like in photos but perfect for two people

    Brianna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place. Only stayed for one night and left early the next morning but would have loved to spend more time exploring the area and creek. The place was clean and all information was easy to find. Definitely will recommend to anyone staying in the area

The Reservoir House is a historic Shokan property originally constructed in 1882 in the nearby Esopus Valley. Then, in 1905, one of the greatest engineering projects to date--the construction of New York City's oldest and deepest reservoir, the Ashokan--would displace the 12 towns in the valley. The Reservoir House was one of a handful of properties that were pulled out of the valley by teams of horses to establish new communities, each scratch in their foundations a reminder of their journey.
The space is a one bedroom private apartment, which is located in one of three renovated farm buildings on the property. It's perfect for those looking to enjoy the Ashokan Reservoir, hike or ski the Catskill Mountains, and visit the unique artist community in Woodstock. The property is also located just off Route 28 for convenient access and availability.
  • Stylish, affordable apartment. There’s nothing missing! Highly recommend it!

  • Apartment 6 is a hidden gem! The space is very stylish and the kitchen was great. We cooked almost every night we were there. The apartment is very cozy and James makes sure you feel right at home. I will 100% be returning in the near future!

  • The place was exactly what we needed—cozy, comfortable, clean, stylish. The bed and couch were comfortable, the heat was powerful (which was great in the upstate cold!), and the kitchen was clean and well-stocked.

  • My husband and I had an amazing stay at this small, stylish, and cozy little studio right outside the Catskills. The studio had everything that we needed for a quick little getaway, including coffee, Cook where, and an amazing fireplace that was definitely used on some of the chillier nights! The art studio is so well decorated, you can't help but admire how unique the space is. And the location is just perfect if you're looking to get away and spend some time in nature and relax!

    Zaneta2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a quiet weekend away. The studio is cozy, has easy parking, and is well stocked with essentials. The location is perfect and only minutes from Lake Minnewaska State Park which was incredible. Would highly recommend.

  • This little getaway was just what we needed! No distractions. A perfect place to sit down by the fire and read a book after a long day of climbing in the (super) nearby Gunks. Sat at the table and played chess while drinking French press tea and burning incense. Can’t get better than that!

    Sam2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and spacious airbnb surrounded by beautiful scenery. Hosts are great, very responsive and professional. Fireplace makes this home warm and cozy.

The studio is in perfectly quiet area for reading. VERY POSITIVE energies in the studio too. Do yourself a favor and go to see all the nature and follow all of Sergeys advice for places to go! This historic Revolutionary War-era cottage features a beautiful local stone fireplace, sunroom, and a kitchen with a mini-fridge, stove and microwave. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a full bed and closet and one with a twin bed. The bathroom is fully remodeled and features a walk in shower. The cottage sits next to a beautiful creek and overlooks the Esopus River Valley with views of the Catskills Mountains. It's on a main road within driving distance of shops, restaurant and hikes.
Please note: Potts Cottage, named for our maternal grandmother, is 700 square feet total. The ceilings are low (people in the 1700s were shorter than those of us in the 21st century!) so folks who are more than six feet tall will need to watch their crowns! There are stairs to the upstairs with a sturdy handrail, but please note you must use stairs to get to the bathroom. The cottage is best-suited for a couple, but there is a sleeper sofa for larger parties. Please note we do charge extra for more than three guests. The cottage is just on a main county road, which makes it accessible to all that the Catskills has to offer.
The cottage is near other neighbors across the road so do be respectful of them. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Fara's spot was just what we needed for a writing retreat. The scenery was beautiful and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals. They were good communicators and everything was in order to make it a smooth trip

    Jordan2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very cozy and sweet. It was very clean and as advertised when we arrived. We appreciated the helpful instructions - particularly about the tricky heat - which worked well. Just note that if you light a fire, your clothes, bags, etc. will smell like smoke because it is a small old place but we thought it added to the charm and nothing a load of laundry can't fix. We very much enjoyed out stay.

    Camille2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stacie and Fara are so responsive and easy to communicate with. They provided us with great recommendations and were fast to answer any questions we had during our stay. Their cottage is really one of the most charming places we've been to in the Catskills. It's small and was built a long time ago (stone floors, low ceilings, tighter spaces) but it's the most relaxing and thoughtful retreat we've been to in the area. The house overlooks a ridge with a small stream on the property. The views from the back windows are beautiful and so serene. There are plenty of chairs set up along the ridge with great vistas - it was cold but we still took our coffee (Nespresso, which they provided at the cottage, a thoughtful and appreciated touch) outside each morning to enjoy the sunrise over the ridge. Really close to Kingston (great food and great local beer - Great Life Brewing was incredible) and some excellent hiking spots. Bed is comfortable and bathroom is recently renovated. We loved our extended weekend in their cottage.

    Johanna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a very charming property, and the fact it’s pet friendly was icing on the cake. Highly recommend it. We loved our stay.

    Abbie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house is super cute and perfect for a break. Above all, we particularly liked that the house has a history and that you can see it in the small details. The equipment especially in the kitchen was great and we didn't miss anything.

    Yasemin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our weekend at Potts Cottage. The fireplace makes this place so warm and cozy. Despite the cold temperatures, we were very comfortable. But be sure to bring firewood! You can buy it locally at a Stewarts or other convenient store. The kitchen is well-outfitted and we enjoyed cooking and staying in. There are scenic places within a short drive to walk or exercise. Would return!

    Jessica2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing few days staying at Fara’s cottage. The cottage is charming and cozy. Fara was very communicative and the check in was a breeze. My only advice to people planning a visit in the winter is to bring a pair of slippers because the ground floor is made of beautiful but somewhat chilly stone.

    Marco2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is the most magical and scenic. The check-in was smooth and communication with Fara was so quick. It’s a great, affordable, and comfortable. Highly recommend for a getaway trip! Thank you so much again for having us!

This is an old, renovated milk barn on a working farm. Both of the sleeping spaces are lofts that require climbing stabilized, vertical wooden ladders. There is a wood stove, running water, kitchen, living room & bathroom.
The space was originally lined with stainless steel & was a walk-in cooler for milk storage when there was a dairy farm on the land in the 40s. It was renovated by master carpenter, David Raponi, who lived here for 7 years and suffused the space with various quirks of comfort and creativity. It has a wood stove and we prepare the fires for our guests if requested. It is fully insulated & the original vaulted ceiling is intact. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, sink, and composting toilet similar to an outhouse.
This is a rural neighborhood. The property is adjacent to the Mohonk Preserve & the trails are within walking distance to our land. Minnewaska State Park is 7 miles away. We are 8 miles from the college town of New Paltz and 3 miles to the village of High Falls. There are many restaurants, antique shops & other interesting shops in the area.
  • Highly recommended for anyone hoping to experience the simple life or the micro house phenomenon. The Milk Barn is a reminder of the value of the essentials- shelter, warmth, and the beauty in imperfection. Watching the snow fall from the bed loft was an unforgettable experience. The hiking trails were stunning too!

  • We were very happy with the place and the host was extremely helpful in whatever extra we needed. We loved the barn and the area. Definitely recommend to anyone.

  • Toby’s place is the perfect place for a romantic weekend or weekday getaway! It’s charming, peaceful and wood stove makes it so cozy during these cooler winter nights! Absolutely recommend and encourage anyone to stay here!

  • Great place to get away from city. The milk barn is wonderful and Rio is incredibly helpful and communicative. Hope to visit again!

    Luke2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very cozy and cute, like a tiny place. Perfect peaceful and romantic escape for my partner and I. Lots of great hiking and geocaching nearby. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend for adventurous and outdoorsy people!

    Madison2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The milk barn is a very cool building on a unique and secluded eco-friendly property 5 minutes outside of New Paltz. We enjoyed exploring the property, relaxing by the wood-burning stove, and talking with Toby, as well as other guests staying elsewhere on the property. It was a great community to be a part of, if only for a brief time. Cell phone reception was spotty, which was appreciated given the goal of our getaway. We would certainly stay again.

    Jarrett2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • As a New York City native, I found that this beautiful gem gave us so much more than we expected to get out of the trip. The barn fits perfectly for two people looking to get away from the city or share moments of intimacy. We brought some little personal touches such as string lights - which I recommend to future guests for romance - but all of Rio's other touches really gave off good vibrations. Quaint, cozy, romantic, tender. Something else to appreciate is how environmentally friendly this barn was. It will be different from what many people are used to, but it truly adds to the charm. The composting toilet was an interesting experience, especially. There is a good amount of space outside for people to wander off, and I imagine it is more beautiful during the summer, where people can have bbq's. Great location close to a couple of hiking destinations, which one of the reasons we took this little trip. New Paltz isn't far either, and it is a cute little town worth visiting. I highly recommend this place. It's affordable, beautiful, and unique. <3

    Amany2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic three night stay at the Milk Barn. So nice to escape from the city for a unique relaxing experience and with our large dog in tow. The mattress was comfortable, the composting toilet is a breeze, and lighting a fire each night added to the ambiance and fun. The ladder up to the larger bed is a little awkward, but is doable. Recommended items to bring: house slippers, wipes for dogs feet. Thank you to Rio and Toby - we'll be back!

Mary queen of England granted approximate 400 acres to the Davenport family in 1689. The original homestay location was lost. The diary barn was converted to a home in 1984. 20 acres remained landlocked with pittoresk class A trout stream running trough pastoral setting. Located in the Hudson Valley, 2 hours North of NYC, our 20-acre Farm is home to horses, chickens, bunnies, dogs, cats and other farm animals. Enjoy our walking trails, creek, bonfires, wood fired pizza oven and luxurious hot tub. Nearby is a shared fire pit and BBQ, so you can sit by the camp fire and roast marshmallows.  To preserve the natural experience of the tipi`s rural setting, cars are parked on the main driveway about a 1-minute walk away. • T's place is great. Full of nature and the feeling of really "getting away". The drive is beautiful and they have many animals/pets on the property. They have a great little charcoal BBQ which was fun to use. Parking available. Beautiful star gazing. Easy check in and check out and fresh eggs for sale! Note that the tent gets freezing so come prepared. There is a mattress warmer which is excellent but no other heat at all- we spent as much of our time sitting in the bed because of this. Also, their pets are beautiful and friendly- if you are afraid of dogs do note that they want to play and will likely jump up on you out of excitement.

Sorry for any confusion but Airbnb has not managed to ask the question, 'How many bedrooms do you need'. Trust me, this works! No charge for young children sharing your room. Maximum of 2 adults sharing bed per bedroom. We welcome all inquiries. Please ask about 'special offer' for a 2 or more night stay using 2 bedrooms! Or more than 3 nights using one bedroom. We have a pack n' play for small ones but if you have young children you are welcome to bring an air mattress, it will fit in either bedroom.

Hip Ibiza tent on horse farm with queen bed and queen air mattress. Located in a private area, on the edge of our stream with nothing but trees surrounding you. Tent has electricity to charge your phones and a fan to keep you cool. Guests have access to toilet, the farm's brand new Hot Tub, a one-minute walk away, fire pit and BBQ to make that perfect s’more. Horses, chickens, goat, puppies, kittens roaming and fenced in.
Mary queen of England granted approximate 400 acres to the Davenport family in 1689. The original homestay location was lost. A Dutch home and barn were build during the pre-industrial revolution. Unfortunately the home was lost to a fire in 1979, you can still see the stone foundation. Our property is far from any large roads and is perfect for couples wishing to have a romantic weekend surrounded by nature. To preserve the natural experience of the Ibiza tents rural setting, cars are parked on the main driveway about a 1-minute walk away. If needed, we will assist you with a pull cart in getting your luggage out to the Tent. In winter our property becomes a "Winter Wonderland"; SNOW SHOEING or CROSS COUNTRY SKIING, ski right on our property or drive 10 minutes to Minnewaska or Mohonk and ski their well groomed trails and ICE SKATE at Mohonk's beautiful Ice Pavilion. We have 7 other accommodations on the same 20-acre farm each one tucked away. We keep our calendar up to date, if it says we have availability go ahead and instant book it. We get excellent cell service.
  • What an oasis! My friend and I booked the Ibiza tent at T's place for a close get away from NYC. We arrived a bit earlier than expected, and they were more than accommodating for an early check in. We were greeted right away by three gorgeous and friendly Golden Retrievers. The Tent was so inviting with lots of character. Extra pots and pans for the fire pit, dishes and cutlery, as well as a supply of water. The bed has a heated mattress topper that kept us cozy throughout the night. We explored the farm, and went for a hike in the nearby park. A must stay, and we will for sure be back!

  • Loved the Ibiza tent! Very comfortable bed, with the bonus of a heated blanket for chilly nights. Having access to a plug and lighting was a huge help. Emergency port a potty was also very clean and saved a longer walk at night. Really enjoyed our stay, and hope to be back soon

  • Had a fantastic time. Very romantic getaway, quiet area, beautiful setting. Easy to build a fire and have an outdoor meal! Visited local winery and town. Will definitely be back!

  • Stayed in the Ibiza tent, nice space, cozy bed, everything you need to cook and be cozy. Really great area near the creek with a fire pit a short distance away, really great touch. Beautiful wild flowers and forest on the grounds. One of the farm dogs hung around with us to walk the grounds and cook by the creek at night : ) Really unique place to stay if you want a little spice and less of the same. All the feeling of camping without having to pack all the amenities and gear yourself + a really cozy bed. Nice bathroom and shower inside plus new clean hot tub : )

  • If you’re looking for a night away from the noise and hustle and bustle, this is precisely the place to be. The creek on this property is pristine and so refreshing to cool off in. The tent is much bigger than expected and outfitted with everything you could need for a campfire cookout. A fresh carafe of water was waiting for us and entering the tent was walking into your own glorious pillow filled oasis. The decor is adorable and very inviting. It was a perfect night for my boyfriend and I. It happened to thunderstorm and downpour the night we stayed and it was serene. We were completely dry and safe in the tent and the morning brought sunshine again. It was truly a beautiful experience. The hosts are exceptional, though we kept to ourselves, it was a comfort to know they were close and available if we needed anything. We can’t wait to go back!

  • This was my second time staying in this utopian spot! I brought my boyfriend last year and we had such a magical time that I decided to bring my 65 year old Mother this summer! She absolutely loved the Ibiza tent and the bed was soooooo cozy! We had a campfire in the little creekside forest nook and watched as the stars and fireflies came out. The dogs were so charming and silly. My Mom is still raving about the adventure and wants to now bring my Father! Tim is a wonderful host! THANK YOU!!

  • Don’t hesitate on booking this charming little spot. If you want a true cabin feel this is absolutely it. We came up for a few days to hike in the Catskills. The fire pit was awesome to sit by and enjoy some drinks and late night conversations after dark. We especially loved listening to a bunch of the records when we woke up to make breakfast or were cooking dinner. I had a question about check in because we didn’t have service and Jessica responded immediately. Id love to come back here for another getaway.

  • This is a truly charming little cabin! It’s furnished with many musical instruments which we loved playing. The interior is great and handcrafted with style. There are lovely woods to walk on the property.

  • Don't normally write reviews...Tim has a great farm on a nice piece of land with all sorts of animals. Our cabin was very cozy with all the amenities of a hotel, and a small fenced in section where the dog could roam around (if she was better off leash, he had no problem letting her around the farm). Room was clean and comfortable, easy check in, and very nice guy. Close to many hiking attractions. Was a perfect getaway out of NYC. Will likely stay again.

  • LOVED this space. I really enjoyed the private area for our dogs. From the moment we pulled in the driveway I felt a sense of comfort and relaxation. The animals are all adorable & friendly. Tim was super. Great location- Walmart is 15 mins away, state park with beautiful trails and sights nearby, all while being far enough away from everyone else. The cabin was super clean, and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to make small meals. Can’t wait to stay here again soon!

  • Clean, private cabin located on a farm for guests who LOVE animals and aren’t afraid to get their shoes muddy. Would recommend. I booked this cabin as an easy getaway from the noisy city for the night for me and my boyfriend. We started the trip hiking early in the morning at Minnewaska state park, had lunch, and then headed over to the cabin for check in just shortly after two. As soon as we turned down the drive away, we were greeted by 4 very excited dogs and in the distance could see 3 horses and a goat outside grazing on hay. As we drove past the horses to find our parking spot, we noticed two rabbits in their cages and a group of about 10 chickens, roosters and ducks roaming freely. As animal lovers, we knew immediately this was the place for us! We checked in at the main house with a young man named Jan. Jan was very friendly and gave us a quick tour of the property and where we will be staying. The cabin was exactly as pictured and was very clean. We used the kitchenette the following morning to make breakfast. They had plenty of pans and utensils. The only thing really worth noting, although not necessarily bad, is the property offers about 5 other locations onsite for people to stay. It had the feeling of a bed and breakfast but separate cabins instead of rooms in one house. Fire pit and hot tub are communal and detached from cabin (closer to the main house) and there are other guests roaming the property as well. All in all, we had a great time and would definitely come back !

    Alex2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t wait - book Tim’s place now!

Camp amongst the cedars, watch the changing of seasons among the leaves, leave all your stresses behind. Bring your sleeping bag and smores, grab a friend or a few! And reconnect, relax, and reflect at your personal campsite, located on 100 acres of forest. Your adventure is in your backyard, or just beyond.
Located in a forest behind our pastures, we welcome all, experienced campers and newbies, to enjoy the serenity of nature. Situated at the edge of a young cedar field and forest, you'll sleep among the trees and wake up to the sounds of nature. Exploration beyond the campsite is thoroughly encouraged! While on your stay, these backwoods are you private trails to enjoy. Be among the changing of seasons, as the leaves turn brilliant colors. The landscape varies from open shale pits to pine forest, tiny streams to glimpses of all kinds of wild animals. The field to the side of the campsite is the perfect spot to stargaze, maybe you'll catch a glimpse of a shooting star! The campsite includes a platform and tent (approx 9'x7'), sleeping mat, firepit, and outhouse. If a camping toilet experience turns you off, this trip may not be for you. There are many wonderful benefits for the earth when camping/composting toilets are used, and we are happy to do our part. Park at the entrance and trail into the trees! The walk is less than 3 minutes. The path can get wet/muddy in some areas if we get lots of rain, please use caution and common sense. Our fields vary from season to season, filled with vegetables, flowers, hay fields, corn fields, Christmas tree plantation, and our newest addition of a starter lavender field. As a working farm, we have two fields of grazing cattle, who love to be fed apples! We do ask that you respect their space in the field and to never cross into barbed wired areas. Bring your sleeping bag and Smores and detach from the hectic, fast life, and tune back to the mother earth.
Located in the Hudson valley, we are in the best location for hiking and exploring the outdoors. Our location is the perfect balance between the peace and quiet of nature, and the convenience of towns, restaurants, and bars. We are 20 minutes from the state thruway, 20 minutes from New Paltz, 10 minutes from High Falls, Stone Ridge, all home to wonderful local restaurants, food stores, and shopping. We are only a short drive from Mohonk and Minnewaska State preserve, both of which we encourage guests to check out, and also countless other local hikes to waterfalls and lakes, bouldering and hiking. We are 2 minutes down the road from Westwind Orchards and Arrowood Brewery, a local bar where they grow their own hops.
  • Really amazing - C was an excellent host, quick responses and great local tips. The space is beautiful and secluded, really perfect for a getaway

    Nash2020-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • My entire experience was extraordinary. The host, C is as much of a gem as this campsite is. She really is very thoughtful and kind. The site itself — it’s something very special. The trail to the site is lovely and peaceful to walk along. There are thoughtful touches all over. At night the moon and stars light up the sky. I had to leave early; I will return again sometime. There’s a lot of natural beauty just in this site alone. Thank you again 🙏🏼

    Mel2020-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • C is very attentive and responsive. The place is just as advertised, and is a great short getaway from NYC! Close to some good hiking and eating, too.

    Daniel2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • C's campsite is very lovely, tucked back into the woods making it very secluded and private. It is full of amenities and is close to both New Paltz and Woodstock. We really enjoyed our stay and having the lean to was awesome to keep us dry while hanging out on Saturday night and cooking breakfast on our Sunday morning.

    Adam2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy campsite tucked into the woods. A cute getaway for couples or a great place to stay with friends for a weekend.

    Brandon2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time here and wished we could have stayed longer. I'm grateful to our hosts for stellar communication, thoughtful touches, in-depth directions, and for thinking ahead of everything we'd need! P.S. The compost toilet was the nicest compost toilet I've ever seen haha.

    Lucy2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely private campsite! I have been looking for an ideal place like C's to escape to from NYC for a while now, and our stay exceeded my expectations. Nestled away in a small, cozy forest clearing, the site was easy to find even though we arrived in the dark, on a cloudy day, later than planned so the solar string lights weren't on. We had no problem with the short walk in using our headlamps. (Would recommend bringing headlamps or flashlights just in case, if you are arriving at night.) Tent and sleeping mats were very comfortable, outhouse was spotless, and we were grateful to C for providing a cooler for some food and drinks we brought with us. The private trails were amazing, and listening to the coyotes hunt in the woods on our first night around the campfire was creepy and thrilling (very appropriate for the Halloween season!) Location was also spectacular for lots of fall fun -- easy drive down the street to Arrowood Brewery and Winwood Orchards, which were similar with lots of outdoor seating, festive lights, delicious food, beer, and ciders. We also drove over to New Paltz (~25 minutes) to check out the Brooklyn Cider House's gorgeous Twin Star Orchards, where they were having an Oktoberfest celebration. We live in Bushwick down the street from the cidery, so it was really cool to see where they grow their apples. Lastly we checked out some beautiful hiking to a lake in nearby Minnewaska State Park. We lucked out with the weather, no rain and beautiful fall temps, but the site is tucked into the trees in a way that seems protected a bit from the elements (rain and sun) so you'd avoid getting too wet or too hot in less-than-ideal weather. We didn't see one person the whole time we were on the property and didn't mind that one bit. C was extremely responsive and one of the very best hosts of any AirBNB I've stayed in, in regard to understanding and providing for guests' needs. Just the right level of checking in with us and letting us do our own thing. Keep it up C and Vivian! We can't wait to return!

    Vanessa2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at C's place was the best! So close to Minnewaska State Park, which was perfect for us who hiked every day we were there. In addition, it rained every day we were there and C was kind enough to let us use the cottage on the property she manages as well since it was vacant! Being able to get clean after a long day meant everything. C was always quick to answer our texts and questions with useful advice! What a wonderful campsite and an amazing host. If we ever go hiking in the area again we'll be coming back!

  • Very clean. Exactly as shown in the photos. It was rainy and chilly out all weekend but the fireplace was kept us so warm. Lovely nature walks in the area. Very cozy atmosphere at this cabin.

    Vanessa2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Home Alone. The cabin was super cozy with a wood stove and heated floors. It also had pretty great WiFi for the middle of the woods. No neighbors in sight made for a very private, peaceful trip. It was remote but not too far away from food and a grocery store (about 15-20 minute drive). There were some excellent hiking trails in the area, but the cabin and property are lovely enough to just stay put and relax for a spell, especially with the all-weather porch so you can sit outside any time of the year! We would definitely recommend this cabin for your next woodsy adventure.

    Jessica2020-03-19T00:00:00Z

  • This is a wonderful little cabin about a half hour drive outside of Woodstock. The pictures don't do it justice. The space is very thoughtfully laid out, compact but not claustrophobic, with the loft and heated floors being definite highlights. You can see the road, but besides that it's very secluded. Just me and my partner stayed here, but I think you could comfortably fit four if you squeezed. Excellent space, thank you!

    Ryan2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dariusz’s place was clean, cozy and secluded just as we expected. It has everything you could need and even a little bit more. We had an amazing relaxing weekend and looking forward to coming back during warmer months. P.S- Our urban kids enjoyed the woods and chopping the firewood. Waking up in the morning, and going for a morning stroll. Leaving the house with excitement, we had enjoyed the cozy atmosphere in Dariusz’s place.

  • Tiny cozy apartment perfect for two. Amenities mentioned were provided, as well as sufficient cooking basics for up to 4 people. Wood is provided for the firestove but for a fee. Most of the wood chunks were a bit big for the firestove, we didn't have anything to cut them down but on the last day we discovered there was an axe tucked above. The house is hidden behind trees so you have seclusion but there are neighbors near by. They string up lights outside so makes it easy to spot at night. Check in was easy, I liked that it was a key pad door so I didn't have to worry about holding onto keys. The heated floors really helped. It worked in the bathroom, kitchen/living room but we didn't feel it in the bedroom floor but the firestove really heated the entire house well.

  • This is exactly what I needed when I was looking for the coziest place in the woods! It is very clean, very snug, loved the fire place (kept the place very hot!), quiet, excellent wifi / smart tv services, and so relaxing. The whole process was so easy from checking in to checking out and a lot of things were provided at the cabin like filtered water, lighters and wood for fire, a grill outside, paper towels, kitchen stuff, and much more. I read a lot of comments about the heated floors which were not in the description but was a very pleasant surprise! I love to walk around in my bare feed but they get cold often, not once were my feet cold and you can't tell how fabulous it is until you step onto a small part of the floor which isn't heated and realize how cold it is! So a major plus! Food options were far away but we came with groceries and grilled outside or cooked inside and we loved it. Thanks!

The apartment is a quiet cottage above a storage garage with a lofted ceiling and beautiful windows looking out to the woods. It has a full kitchen with a gas stove. It also has wifi, a TV with ROKU, a badminton net in the yard, and wooded acres of land behind it for a dose of nature.
Just 10 minutes away is a 10 minute hike to an 80 foot waterfall down shaft 2A rd. The cottage is in walking distance of a beautiful rail trail that runs along the rondout creek

Our home sits on 16 acres of land including 2 beautiful swamps filled with amazing wildlife. The Vly Life is located in the very tranquil area known as the Vly in Stone Ridge, just two hours from NYC. We are centrally located, 25 minute drive to New Paltz, Woodstock and Kingston. All beds have down bedding and pillows along with lush towels. Come stay with us!
I can do breakfast and or dinner upon request for additional charge during the winter months. See more on our instagram page, @thevlylife.
We are set in a little area called The Vly. Very peaceful private and serene.
  • Very clean, beautiful home.

    Julian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Doris and John were the loveliest hosts. This is a lovely place to stay to feel like one of the family. Doris and John are so open, friendly and warm. We were centrally located yet wonderfully snug in the hills far away from civilization. Doris made up the most fantastic breakfasts and most perfect coffee. The constant indoor fires along with our first evening our door fire added to the coziness of our experience. I highly recommend staying at the VlyLife.

    Nasha2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed my stay with Doris and John, it was exactly what I needed to decompress from the city. Their home is located on a beautiful property and is very well decorated ( I'm obsessed with the wallpaper). I'd like to think I was a little spoiled being the only guest last weekend, but I'm certain that anyone that stays with John and Doris receive the same warm welcome, amazing breakfast and great conversation by the fire or kitchen. I will definitely be back again soon!

    Rebecca2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best experiences I had! Doris & John are so kind, welcoming and down to earth and they make you feel like family in their beautiful home! I really enjoyed my stay and in their enchanting home. It would be a sin to not mention how delicious Doris’s homemade breakfast is! I’m lucky to have gotten a chance to stay here and would love to be back in the future!!

  • Very nice place to stay, beautiful room, very clean. The hosts are very pleasant. We will go back for sure!

  • Doris and John's home was warm, welcoming, super hip, and lovely to stay at. I loved the peaceful and serene surroundings and the gorgeous fall scenery that surrounded the house. Inside, everything was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. Doris and John were so hospitable and welcoming when we arrived, and were great with communication beforehand. The fireside at night was a great place to write, knit, and chat. There were delicious locals snacks waiting for us in the evening, and Doris cooked one of the most amazing breakfasts I've had in years in the morning. The shower was interesting but the bathroom was spacious and the bed was very nice. There were many places to hangout in the house from the inviting and cool living rooms with excellent records spinning to the outdoor verandah that made the place feel like New Orleans. The view of the lake and the forest is to die for. Highly recommend. An inspiring place for a retreat and a great place to meet new friends!

    Rita2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute booking for my partner and I after a long day hiking (too tired to drive back to Brooklyn). Doris offered a warm and especially welcoming place for us to rest and restore.

Sweet, cozy 2 room cottage w/ a large, private outdoor deck. Pine-paneled throughout, with two picture windows onto lawns. Full bathroom with new fixtures and a shower. Comfy Macy's Queen sized bed. On two wooded acres, just 4 miles from town.
The pine paneling gives the space a very cozy, rustic charm. The acreage is full of birdsong and deer often track through early in the morning. It is not unusual to see a rabbit or other small animals. No bear, though. Very comfortable Macy's Queen sized bed.
The cottage is on two peaceful country acres in a peaceful and serene neighborhood. Across the road from us are cows and horses at pasture.
  • Absolutely fantastic weekend getaway. Saul was great throughout! First day we didn’t even leave the place, even though we planned to go hiking. Felt very comfortable and at home. Thank you Saul - We’ll be back and totally recommend you to our friends that want to take a trip upstate!

  • This cabin is hidden away in the woods just outside the Catskills- giving you a beautiful starry night and great views throughout the day! Saul’s cabin was so homey and really set us up for a great weekend! His literature wealth will expand your mind!

  • Saul’s place is a cottage in a wooded area. It is quiet, filled with birds and ideal for a restful vacation. We had a nice time and Saul was the perfect host.

    Steve2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so eclectic and located in the foothills of the Catskills. A lot of travelers from the city will love the nature and quiet. We are from the mountains of Tennessee so we were a little shocked by the place being attached to the neighbors. We didn’t feel super comfortable hanging out on the porch, but honestly we didn’t spend a lot of time there as we were in upstate for a friends wedding. Also, we were not bothered by them at all, we only saw them walk by once and overheard them when they had a visitor. We just felt like we were more in a private room with our own entrance rather than a secluded mountain home. The book selection was out of this world. The space felt like we were in the studio of a college professor from the 70’s. We spent most of our time perusing titles. Lots on Buddhism, psychology and sex!! Also a few amazing rare Grateful Dead books. The space was a little cramped with furniture and the kitchen had everything we needed. We didn’t cook except to toast some bagels, but the stove was a fancy 2 burner cook stove so we wouldn’t have been able to make a 5 course meal. However, if we needed to cook something quick and easy, it would have been no problem. Saul was always in contact with us and made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay!!

  • We had a great stay. Even though it was unseasonably cold with lots of rain, the place was warm and cozy. We had many great dinners thanks to an awesome kitchen. The pics don't do the place Justice. It is beautiful! And Alessandro is very responsive and helpful.

  • A little house in the woods ideal for getting away from it all. We had a great time!

    Hal2020-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Alessandro’s cabin was a wonderful respite from the city. Surrounded by tall trees, we felt safe and tucked into a peaceful forest. Everything was simple and stylish, and made from high quality materials. He was so fast with communication and eager to help us as much as he could. We would love to visit again.

    Lauren2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • If you like privacy and proximity to nature, this is the place for you. The place is beautiful. I cooked every meal when we stayed there and the kitchen was a bonus, it has mostly what I needed. The only thing I needed that’s not in the kitchen is the rice cooker. So if you’re asian and can’t live without steam rice, bring your own rice cooker. 😆 overall, I give it a 5. Alessandro was quick to reply to our inquiries.

    Sitti2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • We had a great time staying at Alessandro's house and enjoyed ourselves tremendously while there or exploring the area. It was exactly what we needed for our getaway weekend!

    Kasia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Alessandro’s place was outstanding! Everything was high quality from the comfy beds to the well equipped kitchen. Each room has its own thermostat for the floors and the base board heating so it was super cozy. The fireplace was a bonus! The big windows allowed for full view of the surrounding wooded area. Alessandro was very quick to respond to any questions although the internet is patchy. I actually didn’t mind that though since I was going there to unplug. It was the perfect place to do that and I hope to return soon!

    Melissa2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Alessandro’s house is beautiful. The views of the woods are serene and peaceful. The location is great, off the beaten path but a short drive to activities including Woodstock and Kingston. Great fireplace. Awesome clean and modern kitchen. The bed in the master bedroom is sooooo comfortable! Nice big tub and a spacious, warm bathroom. Lots of natural light throughout the house. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back in the warmer months.

The studio is located in Willow, one of the hamlets of Woodstock, on a scenic road with very little traffic. Take a stroll at sunset down our street and enjoy some of the most beautiful mountain views around. It’s a short drive to Phoenicia.
  • This spot was just what I needed for a quiet writing retreat. Chase and Liz provided a desk chair, the view was beautiful (inside and out), and there were unexpected delights like a tea box and a fireplace that turned on automatically when the heat started to drop. My only critique is the sliding glass door going out to the balcony (second floor) was broken, which made me uncomfortable as I'm used to locking my doors at night. Several of the slats on the vertical blinds were broken as well. Other than that, it was just lovely.

    Trevor2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Chase and Liz were incredible hosts. The space surpassed our expectations. Beautiful, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay even more than we expected. Already planning on returning or visiting one of their other properties :)

    Yesenia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful! The design was lovely, sitting by the gas fire place curled up with one of their many extra soft blankets, and watching the sun setting over the beautiful mountains was absolutely amazing. The studio is detached from the main house, but above a garage or working studio, so you’ll hear the hosts when they are in that area, but otherwise it’s completely quiet. I love that it’s so near Woodstock and all the amazing food and shipping there. I would definitely book again!

    Christine2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly what my boyfriend and I needed and more! We were looking to find a cute place in Catskill Mountains to get away from all the chaos in the city and this was definitely what we got. Chase included so many nice touches such as having an abundance amount of toiletries, fresh towels, so many options for body soap and even shampoo. All we had to do was just bring ourselves, some clothes and head down here literally! The decor of the studio was seriously to die for and don’t even get me started with the fireplace (OH MY)... this fireplace was the highlight of our mini weekend getaway because we had the luxury of enjoy a wine bottle and watching some Netflix during the night! The shower area was my most favorite because it had an open concept layout and was just the coolest thing ever. The location even was amazing with beautiful scenery and it was close to a downtown area called Woodstock! We were able to venture out to Woodstock and have a walk and even came by a liquor store that offers wine tastings on Saturdays (major plus!!!) My boyfriend and I were truly obsessed with this Airbnb and we hope to come back very soon! Thank you Chase for providing such great service and for sharing this beautiful spot with us!

    Marilyn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t have asked for a better experience !!! Place was perfect, clean, comfortable, close to Woodstock, not far from hunter mountain, perfect location. Definitely would recommend this place to anybody visiting the area

    Will2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, cozy, bright, and cheerful. This was the perfect quick getaway from the city. The space was exactly as pictured and was perfect for a relaxing mini retreat. The space being heated by a gas stove made to look like a wood stove was super cute and cozy, the shower area was unique and artful (creates from reclaimed wood and such) and situated in an interesting location in the space. The creek right outside was a perfect view with so many windows looking out towards the trees and mountains. I definitely plan to return!

    Shoshana2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

  • We had the opportunity to enjoy a 1-Week Getaway here, I and My Girlfriend, and it was one of the best choices we could of made. The experience was exactly what we were looking for, and we wouldn't change a thing. Cozy, quiet, extremely peaceful and clean, just simply a perfect getaway. • Where to begin?!? My boyfriend and I decided to rent this little adorable cabin in the woods for one night as a little getaway. The kitchen is spacious, modern but vintage, and completely functional with absolutely stunning French doors that bring in so much light to the cabin. Then you enter the next room where you’ll find a nice set up including a couch with a TV as well as an extremely comfortable bed and a completely updated bathroom. My boyfriend and I decided to utilize the fire pit conveniently located right off the back deck (which may I add has a cute set of table and chairs) after we cooked a delicious dinner. This cabin was a perfect way to get away from the chaos of our everyday lives and enjoy a quiet, serene place that fit the two of us just perfectly. I highly recommend this to any couple looking for a romantic getaway!!!

Perfectly located on the main artery in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, this sweet studio has all you can ask for in a country escape! The space is an addition to an old hunting cabin. It was added in the 70's which accounts for the freestanding enamel fireplace and charming wood paneling. Designed to honor its vintage bones, the studio is as groovy as it is cozy. Start your day with homemade gronla and scrub down with some locally made soap. Welcome to the mountains!
The property is a bucolic two acres adjacent the Ashokan Reservoir. Enjoy your morning coffee in the yard and feel free to have a pit fire if I don't already have one going! BYOWood. I keep a hammock in a basket on the porch. It attaches to ratchet hooks on two trees near the fire pit. Just remember to return it when you're done using it please (it sometimes rains without warning!). Additionally, there is a little patio along side the studio that is just for you!
15 minutes to Woodstock or Phoenicia. Surrounded by mountains to climb, and streams to slash in! Literally cross the street for all your hiking needs or whatever you may have forgotten or some legit General Tso Chicken! Rt 28 will take you anywhere in the Catskills you want to go. Just head west and get lost, all you have to do is turn around and head east, and you'll be home! Along the way you'll pass farm stands, the Emerson Lodge and Spa and barn/yard sales.. as the Esopus Creek follows babbles along.
  • My stay at Jenn's cottage was delightful. I stayed at her lovely and magical place for 2 weeks. Jenn is an exceptional host, and answered any questions that I had right away. She truly went beyond to be sure that I had everything I needed for my extended stay, and brought me extra things to use. Her property is enchanting, and it borders the rail trail which is perfect for peaceful walks. She has a beautiful hammock that is perfect for relaxing, reading and listening to the sounds of nature. I loved my time at Jenn's cottage, and honestly did not want to leave!

  • Jenn’s space is perfect for a getaway. The studio has multiple lounging spaces, is very well decorated, and covers all the basics. Her house is literally two minutes away from a beautiful reservoir with hiking trails, and the back lot of her yard sits directly on a long, new rail trail. For anything you need there is a cute country store across the road (I bought some amazing mint and milk soap), and Jennifer was great about answering texts to provide anything I needed. Outside there is a small deck with space to sit and eat or enjoy a book, there’s a perfect fire pit which allows for some great star gazing, and a hammock to lay in and soak up the sun. Personally, not only did I do both of those things, but also drove a half hour to some excellent hiking. Download AllTrails and you’ll see the spot is surrounded by awesome hikes of all difficulty levels. If you’re looking for an escape, this is the right place for you

  • My boyfriend and I spent our anniversary/ getaway at Jenn’s place and had a great time!, wether you want to escape from the world a bit or go sightseeing this warm cozy home is the perfect stay to make some new memories . Perfect location with just about any store you need close by. Jenn was extremely helpful and a great host couldn’t have asked for a better stay !

  • A must when in the area: value | amenities | communication | recommendations | location | and Jenn herself is a superb host... everything was great! You're in a prime spot to explore Kingston, Woodstock, the mountains or simply stay at the amazing studio enjoying the space, porch or fire pit. I thoroughly enjoyed my short weekend and hope to be back again. Until next time! Cheers.

  • Jenny's place is awesome, she was extremely helpful and the place was awesome

  • My boyfriend and I had a great stay at Hinterland. Jenn is an accommodating, and communicative host. She quickly helped us out when we accidentally locked ourselves out! The space is cozy and sweet, parking is convenient, water pressure is great. Lots of sweet personal touches!

    Ellen2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is perfect location. We can go to the beautiful town within 20 mins. And the place has enought things that we need. The studio is very cozy and warm in the winter season. Also the host is very kind and taking care gust well.

  • Pretty accurate listing. Jenn was a very gracious host, especially when we locked ourselves out of the studio! The space is perfect for a couple. We loved the styling and cleanliness of Jenn's place. Bed was comfortable with loads of huge pillows to chill on on the furry rug. Truly amazing shower with great pressure! Check-in and communication were on point. Close to the newly opened rail trail and a convenience store across the road. I think it's best to rent a car and drive here instead of calling a car service as the cars tended to come from Kingston or adjacent and took up to 22 minutes.

The historic hamlet of Stone Ridge has a population of about 2,000 people. Stone Ridge's Main Street is Route 209, and you'll find stone structures and gorgeous farmhouses, many built in the 18th and 19th centuries, along your drive through town. Route 209 runs north to Kingston (about a 20 minute drive) and South to Ellenville (about 25 minutes), and it also intersects with Route 213 right in the center of town. Stone Ridge is just 20 minutes to exit 18 on the Route 87 thruway. The hamlet, which is part of the larger town of Marbletown, is in the Hudson Valley, with lots of farmland and orchards nearby (check out Stone Ridge Orchard in the fall for pick your own apples), but the Catskills, the Ashokan Reservoir, and the Shawangunks are just a few minutes away. The car-traffic-free Marbletown C & O Rail Trail and Wallkill Valley Rail Trail both intersect with Route 213, just a few minutes from Main Street, and are popular with families, cyclists, and dog walkers. Locals shop on route 209 at Emmanuel's Market for groceries and household basics, and the local farmstand Davenport Farms offers the best local produce, meats, baked goods. There's also the locally owned Marbletown Hardware (the World's Only Rock and Roll Hardware Store, complete with mini museum) right in town. The Marbletown Community Center is located in Stone Ridge and offers adult exercise classes, camps and activities for kids, and hosts many community meetings. The last few years have seen the introduction of several new restaurants to Stone Ridge as well as the continued flourishing of old favorites. The Hasbrouck House, built in 1757, was recently reopened as a luxury inn and dining destination with its restaurant Butterfield. Asia serves contemporary pan-Asian food while Momiji offers sushi and a Japanese grill. Lekker is a new spot that serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch all day, and The Roost is a consistent favorite that does lunch and dinner.

  • We found this lovely place to stay for our spring break & it was everything we expected & more! The place was extremely neat & clean with so many amenities that made our stay super easy. Within walking distance or just a five minute drive you can find anything you need, from a supermarket to a hardware store & everything in between. Just a few minutes away is Rosedale, with a homey little main Street full of shops, eateries & a library. Along with this small town life, there are also amazing views guaranteed from nearby hikes such as Joppenbergh Mountain and the Rosedale Trestle. All of this plus lovely hospitality from Deborah! You won't regret booking this place :)

  • I really can’t say enough about how perfect my stay was. I hoped for a situation that would allow me solitude and comfort to work on the creative projects I’d brought with me, and that’s exactly what I got. I’m very grateful for high quality housing in a lovely Hudson Valley town with anything so needed close by.

Overlooking the Woodstock village center, this antique hotel has 148 years of history and charm. From the front steps you will feel the same energy that travelers have felt since President Ulysses S. Grant visited Woodstock in 1872. This room 2A is a studio apartment with a balcony that overlooks the center of the village. There is a full kitchen and a private bath. You do not need a car! The Trailways bus from NYC stops directly across the street, and walk to everything in the village.
  • Exactly as expected. Clean, comfortable, conveniently located, with friendly hosts and lovely amenities.

  • My stay at the Aster suite was wonderful. The suite has a very warm and comfortable environment to it and it welcomed me as soon as I entered the door. Everything that I needed for my stay was available to me in the suite and that was great. Also the balcony view of the town you get from the suite is amazing. It was nice to sit up there and look out on the town of Woodstock. Ann and Dave were very helpful and quick to respond on any questions I had and that made my stay even better. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to have an enjoyable place to stay that is located right in the center of Woodstock.

  • The Hotel Woodstock is the perfect pit stop! We stayed the night after a long trip from Boston to see a concert at Levon Helm's Studio. It was just what we needed. Close to everything and easy check in check out. Try Shindig for breakfast (a close walk). The room is wonderful and the balcony is exactly where you want to be after breakfast.

We offer a private studio apartment located on the second floor of this wonderfully restored 2 unit carriage house, built in the early roarin' 20's! It offers a blend of modern amenities, with more traditional countryside accents. The traditional design of the studio allows light to pour through the apartment, while making adjustments for sleeping in easy. This truly unique space is a perfect place to take a weekend to relax, and enjoy our exterior grounds!
  • Cozy space, close to town and hiking trails, with all the cooking supplies you’d need. The shower is a bit small (probably 3x3), just in case that’s important to you, but everything was spotless and really comfortable!

  • Emy’s studio was the perfect home base for exploring all things Woodstock and the surrounding region. Really enjoyed the small porch and mountain view!
