  • y boyfriend and I Had the best weekend here this past weekend. Our morning coffee view was amazing from the patio, our living room and loft bedroom area! Watching the seals right out front do their thing was so cool! Matt made check in and out super easy. We were worried about it being loud with the reviews about it being right on they main road but we really didn’t hear anything but birds, and the water. the people in the cabin right beside are somewhat close but it is still super private and they totally kept to themselves. We will definitely be back!

  • Only spent a night traveling through but wished we stayed longer. It’s a beautiful loft with rustic charm. Enjoyed the record collection and the great views.

    Dani2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The view from Matt’s cabin is spectacular

    Natalie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic, waterside cabin. Cozy and warm. Yes there is a busy road. Yes rustic seems an understatement when you first pull in. But the views and the lovely open space inside make up for it. Matt was quick to respond to questions. We loved our stay.

  • When you drive up to this place on the water just off the road, your first thought is “is this it?” But when you walk into the unit it feels like a hidden oasis. Big open space. The view is incredible, sunrise and sunset, mountains, birds and water. The high ceiling, cement floors, large windows, fireplace, large dinner table and sitting area on the water make this place a must. I woke up looking at the ocean and mountains. Record player and albums were a nice touch and got a lot of use. We will definitely be back soon.

  • Great spot!

    Josh2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is exactly as advertised, and excellent for a couple. The cabin was well equipped, and the bed was comfortable. We brought our own wood, and kept a strong fire going as it was quite cold outside when we were there. However it heated up quickly inside, especially in the sleeping loft up above. We would like to come back and stay longer next time, so as to enjoy the property more. Communication with the host was excellent - very quick responses.

    Douglas2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin, perfect getaway in a quiet beautiful area. Fire place kept us cozy and warm and Banjo the dog was such a sweet pup!

    Kyle2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really fun little place to stay. It's a real, rustic wood cabin with a cute loft to sleep in and a little kitchenette for making food. Nice selection of movies if you want to relax in the evening. Good location for exploring the area.

    Jan2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and aussie shepherd stayed here. We were greeted by their sweet dog banjo! The cabin had everything we needed. Even though we only stayed for one night, we really enjoyed our stay. Will be back!

we welcome you to the studio cottage, an architectural gem minutes away from the beach on beautiful hornby island. the cottage is open concept living space that sleeps two and is perfect for a couple looking to experience the real hornby.
our home is located on the magical, warm and lovely hornby island, - island of seductive sandy beaches, groves of beautiful arbutus trees, two very attractive provincial parks and the most astonishing micro-climates whose diversity is enjoyed by this small old fashioned yet contemporary community and also by our rich bird and animal life. the studio cottage is located close to whaling station bay and helliwell park and just two minutes from middle bay. tribube bay is also just a two minute drive away. the studio cottage is an architectural gem in west coast style with a lovely fireplace where you can burn a three-hour duraflame fire log for the evenings in winter and of course we have electric heat always available during the day), a lovely bathroom with a claw-foot bath tub, an open loft bedroom upstairs, a foldout futon in the living room and a private back patio with barbecue. the cottage is attached to the main house (one resident only, normally) by a glass walkway, but is totally private with its own entrance and patio. in july and august the studio cottage is booked exclusively by the week, from saturdays for seven nights as is common in the gulf islands in the summer, hornby island experiences very little rainfall from may to october and consequently, since most of us collect our own water, we have to ask our guests to be economical with their water usage by having short showers. the studio is not suitable for children due to an open loft bedroom and the danger that this presents. also we have a strict no pets policy. we look forward to welcoming you to the studio. next year (2020) the beautiful cottage will be open from may 1st till october.
we are located between the two lovely beaches of tribune bay and whaling station bay and helliwell park is also very close. we are about a four minute drive to the general store and with a two minute walk you can find yourself at the lovely middle bay.
  • Yael & Suzy's place was probably one of the most unique, beautiful spaces I've had the privilege to stay in on my travels thusfar. The space had a super comfy vibe inside and out, and was certainly spacious enough for our needs, complete with a full bedroom, kitchen and living room. The guesthouse is located quite close to multiple beaches, whaling station bay, and the local co-op / market area (about 10 minutes away by bike). The island itself is beautiful as you can see from the pictures, even in the rainy season. While we were only there for a short while, we enjoyed the overall comfort and ambiance of the stay, not to mention Suzanne's wonderful hospitality. Would recommend to anyone travelling through Hornby!

  • Suzzane was a wonderful host and her recommendations were very helpful. The cottage was beautiful, cozy very clean and nicely designed. Very close to Hornby Island winery with very tasty fruit wine. 10 mins walk to a small bay which is so tranquil and 5 mins drive to Tribune bay.

  • Excellent location, lovely place and host.

    Karen2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • There were fresh flowers sitting out and the cottage was well cleaned as we arrived! Very good straightforward directions too!

    Madison2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage. This place is so unique and charming, you feel like you are staying in a storybook. Suzy adds wonderful little touches of fresh cut flowers inside the place. It is a wonderful place to escape and relax. It is also in a good location, in between Helliwell park and Tribune Bay. We took an evening stroll down the street to nearest shore in the evening and saw whales splashing around in the water. The whole experience was like a fairytale. We will definitely be back to this incredible charming cottage in the woods.

    Andrea2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming and artistic space. Suzi met us as we arrived. Really engaged , caring host. Well situated in a private setting. Close to a lovely rock beach. Excellent experience

  • We have spent a lovely weekend in a charming house. Suzy gave us some advices on what to do on the island and was kind to prepare the fire every day. We would warmly recommend this place

  • This is a good place to get a good taste of Hornby life! The architecture of this home is so cool and hobbit house like, except not small. Beautiful place to wake up and enjoy the sun filtering through the trees. Suzy was an excellent host.

We had a fantastic three night stay while we enjoyed a ski trip to Mt. Washington. The location is great for this, just 30 minutes to the hill and a wonderful home base to return to at the end of the day. Just a short stroll to the beach and easy access to the beauty of this area. • Ekta's place is a lovely rustic cabin in the woods complete with chickens that greeted us at the door and a relaxing hot tub. Ekta and Peter are thoughtful hosts. We really enjoyed the stay :)

    Glen2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ekta and Peter were amazing hosts. They went over and above for us.. they built us a fire pit as we miss camping, brought us more comfortable chairs, and were there with any information we needed. The cabin is cozy and rustic and has EVERYTHING you could need (I needed tape and we even found that in a drawer). The hot tub is fabulous annnnnnd we absolutely ADORED the chickens who act like dogs! They came running excitedly whenever they heard us out and about and even slept outside the door waiting for us to finish lunch or a game of cards We also recommend taking a pottery lesson.. It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. Thanks for everything! Cheers, Debra and Brent

  • The cabin is an incredibly warm and cozy space nestled in the forest. It is situated a 5 minute walk from Grassy Point, and a close drive to the Co-Op. The hosts are lovely and even offered us their own chickens eggs. I would highly recommend staying here.

Bright and spacious studio suite overlooking Baynes Sound. Private entrance, propane fireplace, double bed, kitchenette, and shower. Enjoy the peace and quiet or access the beach and many walks in the neighborhood. Fanny Bay is famous for its oysters grown right in the front yard. Ask about local seafood and cook your own or enjoy one of our local eateries. This is a great destination for relaxing or use it as a base for taking daytrips to nearby points of interest.
  • We stayed 2 weeks at the Crows nest and had an amazing time. Bev's place is really nice to relax and makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. You can go for a walk along the water when the tide is low and the location in general is great. Loved our stay! Thanks Bev.

  • Bev's place was extremely clean and quiet. The sleeping temperature was great, and I loved how soft her sheets were. The coverlet was the perfect thickness for summer and the extra pillows were nice to be able to read in bed. Everything was very clean, and right on the ocean. What a nice little nook to explore the surrounding area!

  • The place was extra clean! The host were friendly and welcoming. They left special attentions such as homemade goodies and some "essentials" (coffee, milk, tea, yogurt and some other in the fridge). We got so much more than expected and we definitely think that this place was way better than a hotel room. When we asked for recommendation for dinner, the host knew well about the area and could give us a great amount of information. It definitely is the place to stay. :)

    Emilie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem of a find! we were looking for a waterfront location close to Cumberland for mountain biking. This small but beautifully appointed suite was perfect and they literally have thought of everything. There is no kitchen which I might have realized had I actually read the listing more closely, but they have a coffee maker, microwave, kettle and dishes as well as a small fridge. The bed is very comfortable which is so important to us. It’s very quiet and it’s amazing how well decorated and furnished this small space is. I would love to return here. The hosts are great and even welcomed us with a couple fresh baked muffins and cookies.

    Dominique2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, clean, cozy. Phenomanal service from the host's. Great location, not to close but not to far out of courtenay. Definitely recommend this stay! The curtious baked goods are a must try!

    Terry2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

a forested private 3/4 acre corner lot and a dead end - a short walk to the beach, the main road, and very close to all amenities. An is on the west coast of Canada - called the tropical island of the gulf; sunny weather and beautiful beaches. a get away, in nature - no need for watches, everything is on island time, slower and more flexible. Wildlife is abundant with eagles, sea-lions, seals, sea life, deer, wide variety of birds, lots of owls, no beavers or squirrels, just mink and possum.
This room is located downstairs in a wonderfully colourful whimsical home. Although it lacks traditional privacy, it is very popular and unique. Wake up to look out the window at roses, forest and other flowers. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms; the mainstay and the kids' room (Kids' Court). We have two bathrooms. Upstairs is literally a bathroom, with only a sink and a large claw-foot tub surrounded by mosaics, driftwood, a large sky light above the tub. Relax, light candles and stare up at the stars. Downstairs is a flush toilet, composting toilet, a urinal and soon a shower. Our home is an open concept kitchen and living room with three entrances. Everything you might want will be there, including lots of board games, a trapeze, landline and high speed internet. We don’t have a dishwasher, but pretty much everything else, including various types of coffee makers, a juicer, large dehydrator, gas stove, a microwave, stand up popcorn maker, deep-freezer and much more. Outside you will find a beautiful garden (minimal during dry season, August), lots of flowers, fruit trees, 8 kinds of berries, a fire-pit and a propane fire pit during fire bans, BBQ, a tree-fort, a trampoline, hammocks (weather depending), three outside cats and a timid goose named chicken. A great place for kids of all ages is waiting to provide you with lasting holiday memories. For more photos go to: flicker.com/photos/hornbyhouse
The island is surrounded by at more than 11 beautiful beaches, each one having a different charm. We are just up the road from Sandpiper beach, close to the main road and the trail network. Hornby is a forested island with only about 900 year round residents, most of whom are artist of some sort. Getting around is very easy via trails, roads, bikes and rides from locals. No where is more than 15 mins away. There is a gas bar, ice cream shop, a COOP with a hardware store, a post office, and several small shops and cafes located out front which surround a courtyard. During the summer months there are markets with local produce and crafts, more stores and restaurants and way more people. We also have a marina with a store that sells anything you might want plus Pizza and Cappuccinos. At the ferry landing there is a bar/restaurant with it's own dock. The best in my opinion, is to pack a picnic and go to the beach, Helliwell park, or just behind the house in the forest. On the island you can rent bikes, kayaks and paddle boards. You can go on fishing tours, go diving, get body work, share your yoga practice with many teachers in a variety of settings and just tour around and meet the artisans and interesting Hornby folk. We also have a fire department, a medical response team , a medical clinic and a doctor on call at all times. If you need one there is a dentist who works out of a converted school bus. If you like wine tasting, we have a Meadery (honey based wine), Winery with a vineyard, an alcoholic Cider business and a Ginnery, which also makes many other types of distilled liquor. There is no such thing as garbage here. All actual garbage is trucked off island and everything else is recycled and food is composted. There is also a free store at the recycling depot where you bring what you don't want and take what you do. Anything from clothes, appliances and even my kitchen sink.

If you are planning to stay in Vancouver island. I absolutely recommend this house. There is so Much better than booking hotel which is just expensive and so-so service. I sincerely sure that your trip is going to be the best because of them. Have a great trip in there

  • This was our best AIrbnb stay ever! Gail and Don are really nice and helpfull. Although we were to late with our booking we Don and Gail still had a place for us. The place is really nice and the view was amazing!

  • This is a fantastic location. You can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of serenity as you sit on the deck and watch the ocean glitter below. Gail was a generous and accommodating host. Thanks!

Enjoy the serene oceanfront in your private suite at the Strandhaus on Ships Point. The private steps lead you to the beach where you can go for a quick beach walk, enjoy the view with a glass of wine from your private patio or watch the colourful skies during sunset from the hot tub. After a restful sleep in the king size bed, enjoy a coffee or tea while watching the seals play in the water while the sun rises behind Denman Island. It is a very quiet neighbourhood and a great place to relax.
The guest suite is set up with a living area with plenty of space to relax, watch movies or enjoy some board games. The sectional is comfortable and can be turned into a sofa bed. The dining table gives you space for a quick dinner or breakfast. You have access to your own BBQ and a small kitchenette. The king size bed provides plenty of space for a restful night and a reading chair with ocean view adds a great spot for a perfect and quiet weekend. Enjoy the views from the private patio or hottub or venture down the beach access stairs to the pebble beach. Maybe you find some of the famous Fanny Bay Oysters. Close by hikes and towns, such as Qualicum and the Comox Valley also give you plenty of opportunities for activities during the day.
The Comox Valley hosts communities that inspire creativity, tempts taste buds, and fires the imagination of adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts. Centrally situated on the east coast of Vancouver Island, the Comox Valley faces the sea, embraces the mountains and showcases all that the natural environment has to offer. The Valley area (includes the communities of Merville, Black Creek, Saratoga, Royston, Fanny Bay, Union Bay, Komox First nation and Denman and Hornby Islands) is home to over 65,000 residents who find each of these communities to be diverse and very unique, offering the charms of small town living but with urban flair and taste.
  • Beautiful place with an awesome view. Perfect for a couples getaway.

    Justine2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We booked with Strandhaus after we had our original booking cancelled by another host in Comox. We really wanted a place with a hot tub and were really glad Sven could fit us in at the last minute. His place is absolutely gorgeous (inside and outside) and the hot tub was perfect after a day of snowboarding at Mt Washington. The bed was very comfortable and aside from having Netflix, we also enjoyed some games of Sorry. Thank you for an incredible stay, we would love to come back!

    Melody2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little basement apartment with a great view and awesome hot tub. Very comfortable place to stay. Sven provides a very helpful local guidebook and easy self check-in instructions. Thanks for your hospitality.

    Christopher2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you have landed on Sven and Bastian’s rental, look no further. This remote getaway showcases some of the best views that Vancouver Island has to offer and the space itself is stylish and equipped with wonderful amenities. The king size bed is incredibly comfortable, the bathroom is clean and bright and the kitchenette is well stocked. We enjoyed countless soaks in the hot tub throughout the day and early evening and were able to prepare some delicious meals with the use of the BBQ. We appreciated the small touches throughout and would absolutely book this Airbnb again with no hesitation!

    Ashley2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, as advertised in posting. Great view, we enjoyed the hot tub and not too far from town if needed. Would definitely visit again

  • We spent an unforgettable time in ”Strandhaus” and celebrated our wedding anniversary. It was very nice to get a bottle of prosecco as a present. Modern apartment with a sparkling clean, romantic new hot tub, wonderful ocean view make this place unique. Thank you for having us.

  • Solitude by the Sea is a sweet sanctuary in beautiful Fanny Bay! Irene was the most gracious, kind and attentive host for our short stay. She went above and beyond for us beginning with pumpkin pie, homemade jams, fresh out the oven cabbage rolls and even a little bottle of bubbly! This RV is amazing, just like home, so comfy and spacious. We will miss the heated massaging home theatre style recliners, not to mention the king size bed, and so much more. The beach is a few minutes away and is well worth the visit. Breath-taking scenery! Give this lovely RV a whirl, you won’t be sorry you did! Outstanding! Can’t wait to go back next summer!

  • Irene and Rod made us feel right at home. Then they gave us total privacy. We had a great three night stay celebrating our 5 year anniversary. The anniversary treats were the icing on the cake! Our stay was perfect. We loved the rental, so clean and well appointed. (We felt like we were dirty hikers in this clean beautiful camper!) The books on local nature were an added bonus! We spent a lot of time on the beach across the street and never saw another person. The island is so magical. We hope to return. Stay here, you will love it.

Private cottage that we lovingly call Hobbit House. Located in a rural neighborhood where people value their privacy. We are centrally located to many island attractions. A private space with help close by in the main house. It was the little things that we missed while travelling such as good reading lamps beside the bed, we wanted to provide the comforts of home after a long journey. The space is perfect for a couple, however, we have 2 single beds if needed for kids or an extra traveler.
It has a real cottage feel, but has all of conveniences of a modern home. The kitchen is fully equipped and the bathroom is new. The beds and linens are new. The queen bed is Four Seasons. It is a nice blend of privacy and convenience. The back deck is surrounded by trees so it is nice and private. You will have your own personal parking spot beside the cabin.
The neighborhood has a rural feel but it is very close to major roads. It is also a very central location close to many tourist destinations and other towns on the Island. My favorite part about living here is the easy access to beautiful walking trails. You do not need your car to access the walking trails near the Fish Hatchery and Big Qualicum river. There is access to a railroad track from the property that will take you directly to the river and spectacular walking trails. The wooded trails by the Big Qualicum River, and other trails nearby, are spectacular. There is also close access to many of the beaches nearby.
  • The Hobit House was an easily accessible gem. It was incredibly clean and had many thoughtful touches. Cosy nooks, great spots to read, comfortable bedding and incredibly quiet and peaceful. I was at a workshop during the days and coming home to the warmth and beautifully designed thoughtfully decorated space in the evenings really made it a wonderful trip. Would I return? Absolutely! It was much more than I expected and Scott was an gracious host. He was down to earth, pleasant and respectful. Thank you Scott!

  • The place was impeccably clean with lots of thoughtful details. The hosts were helpful when needed yet provided privacy- I never felt like we were in each other’s way. The kitchen area is quite unique with Angleton slept balls which made the whole place seem quite charming. I will definitely book again next time I’m in the area.

Sunny self contained cottage situated on private low bank waterfront property. Next to beach access near Dunlop Point. Short stroll to swimming at Sandpiper Beach.
Sea Drift Cottage has hardwood floors, vaulted timber ceiling, freshly painted walls with lots of windows. The cottage is about 400 square feet in size. In the main room there is queen bed, small dining table and chairs and kitchenette. Adjoining this room is a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink and a small bedroom with bunk beds suitable for kids. A door off the main room goes out onto the deck overlooking a lawn. There is a second deck on the other side of the cottage with a picnic table and weber barbecue. Guests have a private entrance to the cottage.
We live in a quiet private sunny spot near the ocean and close to swimming beach in summer. This cottage is ideal for couples, or families with up to 2 children.
  • Perfect space for us, two senior travellers. Everything we needed and great info from Leah.

    Lorne2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay tucked away on the south side of Hornby. Decent deck space was the highlight of stay. Lots of wildlife to watch while hanging out on the deck space. Friendly owners, easy check in and out. Exactly what we expected.

    Granden2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage on Hornby Island. The cabin comfortably fit my partner, myself and our 3 year old. The outdoor spaces (porches and yard) were great to hang out in. We had a lovely stay, thank you Leah!

    Sophie2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a perfectly located for our (two of us) weekend of mountain biking. Easy access to the trails, super quiet and close to the ocean. Our host provided a large jug of drinking water, which was very thoughtful. In hindsight, I should have asked the host for additional hand/dish/bath towels, as there were only 1, 1, and 2 of them, respectively, for the two of us.

    Hazel2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Leah was a wonderful host and we had a fantastic stay at her cottage. It was everything we needed and we were able to bike all around the island from her location. It’s a great spot not too far from Tribune Bay. I’d definitely recommend!

    Anne2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Leah and Jack were great, the cabin was so cute, clean and spacious! They even lent us their personal wine bottle opener which came in handy. Thanks you two! We loved Hornby island!

    Paige2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great, wonderful location and nice and clean 🙂

  • Cabin was adorable, as described, lovely yard, felt very private. Well stocked kitchen, and lots of places to sit and enjoy a meal (or drinks.) Our family of four had a wonderful stay here. Paddle boarding at sandpiper beach at high tide was amazing!! And I recommend eating at Forage farmhouse restaurant, it's worth the wait. Cabin has no internet, oven or bathtub.

Our little carriage house is ideal for a couple. It is located next to our home in the heart of old Cumberland. The small yard is shared with an active family. We are close to all amenities, bike trails and a 30-minute drive to Mount Washington. We welcome the opportunity to connect with our guests but also understand the desire for privacy. You just set the tone and we will respect your needs.
This brand new space includes a fully equipped kitchen with extra items such as a growler and squealer for the brewpub a few blocks over. There is no TV set however there is free WiFi access.
Cumberland is awesome and everything is within a couple of blocks. It is small but full of character. There are a variety of excellent options for coffee and beer drinkers. We even have our own brewery, the Cumberland Brewing Company (CBC). There are many excellent food options ranging from the bakery to the gourmet burger. The village also has an active arts and music scene. The Waverly Pub hosts an array of musical talents all year long. We also have the Wood Stove Festival in the fall and the Cumberland Wild Festival in August. The mountain bike trails are of course legendary, but you already know that!
  • We had an awesome stay at Renee & Darrens carriage house. It’s super cozy, has everything you need, and in a fantastic location. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

A wonderfully colourful whimsical home on Hornby Is., in the gulf islands on the west coast of Canada. It's actually called the tropical island of the gulf, because of the sunny weather and beautiful beaches. A great place to get away, be in nature, and relax. You won't need your watch, everything is on island time, slower and more flexible. Wildlife is abundant with eagles, sea-lions, seals, sea life, deer, wide variety of birds, lots of owls, no beavers or squirrels, just mink and possum.
Our home is on a forested private 1/2acre corner lot and a dead end. Only a short walk to the beach and Central road. The mainstay room and upstairs. Beside it is the kids' room (Kids' Court) and downstairs is the room with a view if you want to view and book those as well. We have two bathrooms. Upstairs is literally a bathroom, with only a sink and a large claw-foot tub surrounded by mosaics, driftwood, a large sky light above the tub. Relax, light candles and stare up at the stars. Downstairs is a flush toilet, composting toilet, a urinal and a shower. Our home is an open concept kitchen and living room with three entrances. Everything you might want will be there, including lots of board games, a trapeze, landline and internet. We don’t have a dishwasher, but pretty much everything else, including a juicer, large dehydrator, a microwave, stand up popcorn maker, large freezer and much more. We live on a dead end with no neighbours usually, so you can party it up, or enjoy the peace and quiet. Outside you will find a beautiful garden, lots of flowers, fruit trees, a firepit, BBQ, a tree-fort, a trampoline and three outside cats. A great place for kids of all ages is waiting to provide you with lasting holiday memories. For more photos go to: flicker.com/photos/hornbyhouse
The island is surrounded by at least 11 beautiful beaches, each one having a different charm. We are just up the road from Sandpiper beach , close to the main road and the trail network. Hornby is a forested island with only about 900 year round residents, most of whom are artist of some sort. Getting around is very easy via trails, roads and rides from locals. There is a gas bar, a COOP with a hardware store and several small shops out front. We also have a marina with a store that sells anything you might want plus Pizza and Cappuccinos. At the ferry landing is a bar/restaurant with it's own dock. The best in my opinion, is to pack a picnic and go to the beach, Helliwell park, or just behind the house in the forest. On the island you can rent bikes, kayaks and paddle boards. You can go on fishing tours, go diving, share your yoga practice with many teachers in a variety of settings and just tour around and meet the artisans and interesting Hornby folk. We also have a fire department, a medical response team , a medical clinic and a doctor on call at all times.
  • Staying with Shakti was absolutely amazing!!! She is such a gracious host and her pet cats and goose are so sweet. She knows a lot about the island as well as tips and tricks on what to do. Her home is very lovely with whimsical decor as well as 3 kinds of toilets! We cannot wait to come back and hang out with her as well as her pets! I'd give 10000 stars if I could! Thank you for everything.

  • Shakti is a warm, wonderful host and her home is a gorgeous oasis full of creativity and unique details. The house has all that you could need, a beautiful beach is within walking distance, and staying at this home really added a special touch to my stay on Hornby!

  • Tranquil, private, cozy, well located, super chill and relaxing place in the heart of Hornby. I’d highly recommend this room. Had access to the entire house which was nice. The (literal) bathroom upstairs is a funky space where you can lay back, light some candles and incense and just relax. Nice big deck was great as well.

  • Amazing place! My family of 6 adults stayed here for the long weekend and we were all very comfortable. The place was very private and easy access to walk the beach. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a quiet, beach get-away!

  • This was a great place to watch some winter storms through the large patio windows. The Fireplace kept us warm and beds were comfortable. I would come back here anytime of the year to escape the city. Just a note for anyone in the off season - firewood was a bit of a challenge so you may want to source it early.

  • This place was an awesome getaway for 6 adults and 3 dogs! Very cozy, lovely view, and a peaceful neighborhood! Thanks Matt! We will be back again!

    Anna2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in Fanny Bay! Matt’s place really felt like a home away from home except right on the ocean. We loved watching the sea birds and the tide come in and out. We found it to be very clean and probably the best stocked Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The kitchen actually had EVERYTHING we needed, not just the bare minimum. We will likely be back!

    Allie2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great space to be in, lots of room for a family. Location is wonderful. We would come back again!

    Jackie2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • For a large home with its own sunny little beach, this is a tremendous value. Plenty of room for large/multiple families. The crib was a great touch, saved us a bunch of trunk space and hassle. Could have spent much longer here--missing the sunsets already!

    Daniel2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely setting for exploring the island. The house is clean, well-equipped, with a beautiful view out onto the water, and the owner made us feel welcome.

  • We had an amazing stay at Ben’s studio cabin. Myself, my husband and our six month old son fit very comfortably. The location is perfect for exploring Helliwell Park and there is a beautiful beach right across the street. He has one of the nicest hot tubs we have ever seen and it is a lovely way to relax after hiking all day! We highly recommend staying with Ben and we will definitely be staying with him again!

    Gillian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an incredible time staying at Ben's Natalius House. The cosy cabin had everything we needed and was perfect for our romantic getaway. Ben provided some great info about where to go on Horby and was a wonderful host. We loved the large hot tub, which we watched the moon rise in every night, and it was the perfect place to relax after long days of hiking and canoeing. We highly recommend this place and we will definitely return. Cheers!

A private, self-contained, bright, modern & stylish one bedroom suite, located on my century owned family farm at the base of the picturesque Beaufort Range. The space is completely surrounded by nature, with field and forest views. It is a serene, quiet spot, ideal for relaxing, and recharging after long days of work, or travel.
The suite is located on the lower level of my family home, but is completely private from the rest of the house, with its own entrance. It is a bright, modern, and clean space, with a fully appointed kitchen where you will find farm fresh eggs in the fridge, and organic coffee for brewing. The spacious bedroom has one double bed, all linens are provided, and the room stays cool on our hot summer days. The bathroom has a tub & shower; shampoo, body wash, and towels are provided. A large picture window in the living space looks out onto the fields and surrounding forest. There is an electric fireplace for additional heat, or just for that lovely evening glow. The deck, which looks out onto the fields, is a wonderful spot to unwind, and a propane fire bowl adds ambiance & warmth on cooler days, and evenings. Our friendly dogs will be happy to take you for a walk through the fields and pastures. Take a stroll through the large vegetable garden, then stop and say hello to the chickens. Depending on the season, you may experience falling asleep to a serenade of frogs, waking to sounds of birds, incredible star gazing, and wildlife viewing. This space is best suited to those looking for a quiet, peaceful spot to rest, relax, and recharge.
Located 15 minutes from Port Alberni, and 2km from Stamp Falls Provincial Park where you can hike, swim, and view the falls, and fish ladders. Twenty minutes to Sproat Lake Provincial Park and 1 1/2 hour scenic drive to Tofino & Ucluelet (west coast of Vancouver Island).
  • We had 2 nights with Heather! Everything was very clean, incredibly cozy and lovingly decorated! We felt right at home and can only recommend the booking to everyone! The three dogs were also very nice and greeted us in the garden in the morning! Heather is a great giver and absolutely warm! We would love to come back !!! 5 Stars!

  • Our stay at the Darby Farm was great. The apartment was cozy, quiet, and sparkling clean. We loved the dogs Tripp and Buddy, they showed us around the property and made us feel at home!

    Terri-Lynn2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • From its gorgeous view to its stylish decor, Heather's suite is truly a place that melts away all your stress. There was lots of coffee, tea and a few little extras. One of the best surprises was the small collection of books to read. The location is great if you're looking to stay outside port alberni. The suite is under a km away from a trail that takes you down to stamp river (so no need to drive-- you can explore the trails right from the suite). Heather is warm and welcoming, and made me feel comfortable to ask questions. I had zero concerns staying here and would highly recommend this suite to anyone looking for respite from the city!

  • Small but private and very comfortable. Chris is an excellent and attentive host; best Airbnb host I've ever had. Handy when needed and not intrusive. The suite is stylish, the bed is great, and the kitchenette was well-supplied.

  • This is a lovely studio in the woods near to the village and ferry terminal on Denman Island. We felt very comfortable there and appreciated the heated floors. The place is very clean and has easy walks nearby. Being able to bring our dog was a big plus.

  • Chris and Joni have a beautiful, clean space amongst tall trees. We used the kitchen quite a bit! It was a perfect place for us to get away, do some creative thinking and relaxing.
