  • Had a great stay at this charming farmhouse. Unfortunately we had to return home early as would have loved to stay longer. The place was easy to find and the cottage itself was decorated well, had everything you needed and was spotlessly clean. Would def like to return.

  • I bought this trip for my parents. They really enjoyed their visit. Tina was quick with her responses and easy to contact. My parents had a minor issue with the heating but all was resolved and no problems. Thank you Tina, my parents had a lovely time.

  • Jasmine cottage is situated in a quiet but central area of a lovely Devon village. We found the cottage in a converted barn warm and welcoming on arrival. Very well designed layout with an open plan living dining kitchen area and 2 ensuite bedrooms arranged on each side. The cottage was spotless, beds comfortable and linens and towels high quality. Lovely walks around the village and Church inn does an amazing Sunday roast. Really recommend its location.

  • The cottage was a great place for relaxing at February half term and exploring Paignton and Brixham. Just enough for us 2 adults and 11 year old and 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Shower was great and whole house was warm and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped and we had breakfast at home. 2 pubs within walking distance. Good choice of board games our son enjoyed. Internet connection was good. I’m sure in the summer with more crowd the narrow roads could be a problem. Also parking is tight so smaller car would be better. Would recommend Rockfish in Brixham for seafood. All in all it was a great experience

  • Great place & great host!

  • This place was outstanding, and amazing hospitality during our stay there!

    Harley2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cabin for two nights , it’s a lovely clean comfortable space. Unfortunately we didn’t get chance to use the hot tub due to the weather but think a privacy screen/fence would be useful had we used it though as the main houses window do look over the cabin. The village and area are lovely, welcoming and well worth exploring! We visited a number of local pubs for food and drinks and were pleasantly surprised by them all would definitely visit again!

    Kelly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, homely and takes you back to nature cabin! The little valentines touch were completely unexpected and delightful! The quality of the bedding, towels and amenities were as good if not better than any good hotel. Even though storm Dennis had different ideas to what we had for the weekend, a great stay!

    Rebekah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely remote location in a friendly village. The cabin is very clean and very stylish. A perfect couples retreat.

  • A perfect little cabin for a weekend’s stay, lovely little extras provided including some lovely bath robes, milk and coffee (and bubbly!) waiting for us upon arrival. We got good use out of the hot tub - and really enjoyed the peaceful setting in a beautiful part of Devon. Would recommend!

This beautiful yurt boasts stunning views over the rolling hills of the South Hams Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with Dartmoor National Park in the distance. This charming space, with double bed, wood burner, solar electricity and indoor kitchen has all you need for a basic yet cosy countryside break. Sleeps 2 comfortably (max 4). Your accommodation is situated at Landmatters eco-community yet sufficiently removed from other dwellings to allow for peace and privacy. Please respect our neighbours space and their peace and quiet. When driving off site we ask that you turn left out of the gate so as to avoid driving through the hamlet of Allaleigh. If walking the land, make sure you know where the boundaries are and please leave no litter.
  • This place is heaven ! Such amazing views & oh my how cute the yurt is. Everything was clean & tidy, and you have everything you need for your stay. Honestly did not want to leave.

  • No words can quite describe the experience me and my partner had at Maren's place; it has definitely exceeded any expectations that we've had. Both Maren and Brain are welcoming, helpful and overall wonderful people!

    Lorreta2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A superb stay...! It really was magical and the wood burning hot tub down by the river was amazing!! Great spot for being completely away from the mad daily rush!! Highly recommend!

    Nathan2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and secluded. Cosy and welcoming. Stunning views over the hills. Perfect for back to basics holiday + the not so basic hot tub buried in the woods! Bring a torch!

    Lucy2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Marens Yurt is absolutely fantastic. The pictures are lovely but they really don't do it justice, it is so much cosier and beautiful in reality and it really felt like home while we were there. There is everything you need to cook a great meal and settle in for the evening by the wood burner with a glass of wine and fairy lights. We loved exploring the Land Matters site and meeting some of the lovely people who live there. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, in particular, Maren our host. We would definately recommend a stay at the yurt and hope to come back. Thank you Maren :)

    May2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The is a beautiful hidden gem! Wish we had longer there! The fire was lit when we arrived! Was like a home away from home with amazing views! We will definitely be back soon

    Sarah2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • A magical place to stay surrounded by nature. Maren and Brains were both lovely hosts, offering us craft tools and touring us round the wonderful LandMatters site! The Yurt is gorgeous and has everything you need as long as you enjoy an outdoorsey holiday :D

    Isobel2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was a magical weekend, our hosts were wonderful, very thoughtful and considerate. They had thought of everything you would need when staying in a yurt. They even offered extra blankets and slower burning wood as they knew a heavy frost was on it’s way. We felt very privileged when we were given a tour of Landmatters site, which is such exciting Permaculture project. We loved the adventure of wandering through the woods down to the hot tub under the winter star lit sky then snuggling up in front of a toasty stove with hot chocolate afterwards was bliss. It was a joy to experience a couple of days away from the pace and demands of modern living and to bathe in the luxury of earthly living and be surrounded in the healing energy of nature.

The barn is nestled in a small hamlet with a handful of houses and makes the perfect base for a spot of isolation. You will be hard pushed to bump into anyone. Get away and soak up our wonderful view over Devon countryside and the fresh air! We take our guests’ health seriously, ensuring every surface is cleaned with disinfectant and we use high water temperatures for all our washing. We also provide cleaning products, soap and hand wash that you can use during your stay.
Our barn is stocked with essential food items as well as an ‘honesty’ mini bar. We also provide logs for the fire, plenty of magazines, books, games, WiFi and a TV. Most guests don’t even need to see or interact with us, the hosts, but only if they wish to, at a safe distance. Our closest village, Stoke Gabriel, is still open for business with a well-stocked village shop offering free food deliveries and The River Shack on the water front of the River Dart is open for al fresco dining and take-away wood-fired pizza. There are countless green lanes, fields, paths, hills, coastal walks and valleys to traipse over with little human contact. We can provide you with a list of all the spots where you can visit. Our place nestles in the small hamlet of Aish above the village of Stoke Gabriel near Totnes. Sit in front of the wood burning stove and peer out of the double height window to the fields and the river Dart beyond. Some mornings, you’ll see our resident male pheasant strutting his stuff on the garden wall. Occasionally, you may also spot a deer or two in the orchard or fields below. We are environmentally minded and do as much as we can to help lower our impact on the planet. Please see below, and our house manual, for a list of our eco credentials. We have used high quality fixtures and fittings throughout. The king sized bed is super comfy. The sofa bed is brand new and is a pull-out version rather than one of those uncomfortable fold out ones! The kitchen has been made bespoke by a local artisan and comes equipped with everything you might need including a full size oven, microwave and a small hob. As the space is small we can't include absolutely everything but please do ask us if you need anything at all! We also leave essentials such as tea, coffee, milk, olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper ready in the kitchen making it that much easier to relax the minute you arrive. The garden is adjacent to our own but has its own little terrace with a small table and chairs - as well as a BBQ. We have kept the place as uncluttered as possible to allow guests to escape the everyday. However, if there is anything you feel you need please just ask and I'm sure we can provide it! Please note that it is best to have your own transport if staying with us as Aish has no amenities. The closest shop, pubs and restaurants are in the village of Stoke Gabriel which is a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk away. We are environmentally minded and do as much as we can to help lower our impact on the planet. Here are a few of the things we do: The barn is run entirely on electricity and therefore uses no fossil fuels. We have a 4kw solar panel system on our roof that helps generate electricity for the barn. For any further electricity we use Bulb Energy, which buys all of its electricity from renewable sources. We use biodegradable bin liners and recycled loo/ kitchen rolls. We use refillable options for cleaning products and washing powders that do not come in plastic. We use entirely organic ingredients in our scones and leave you organic, local milk. The teabags we choose (Clipper) have no plastic in them unlike most teabags. You will find reusable shopping bags for you to use in the kitchen. We provide a water filter so you don't need to buy bottled water. We recycle as much as possible.
A short drive away, nearby Stoke Gabriel is a lively village with a well-stocked village shop, two pubs, a BYO bistro, and a cafe on the waterfront by the Mill Pond. Totnes and all its restaurants, cafes, and shops is also close by car.
  • Absolutely wonderful no worries with any questions hosts are always happy to help.

    Bailey2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • HIGHLY recommended. We only wish we had more time there. Exceptional barn fitout that has been carefully and lovingly built. AWESOME views through a huge 2 story window across the valley farms. Fully equipped kitchen, clean modern bathroom and dining area. Loft bedroom with the same valley views and really comfy bed. Really nice to wake up to the sounds of cows and sheep. Great pub in town for a meal. Quite at night and dark to follow all the stars. Off street parking with beautiful English gardens. Thanks for having us.

  • A beautiful place surrounded by countryside, we had the best weekend stay! Julie and Keith were fantastic hosts, everything was perfect!

    Tom2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • 5 star service isn’t a high enough rating! We travelled for hours to get here and it was worth every second! As a very stressed out working couple running a busy business and little time for ourselves this felt like a couple days in heaven. The place is amazing, Julie was just lovely and so helpful above and beyond our expectations. I cannot rate this place highly enough and would 100% recommend and return!

    Anne Marie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t of asked for a better place to stay for my anniversary

    Joseph2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Julie's place. The hot tub is great with fantastic views, and sheltered enough so the weather wasn't a problem. The accommodation is perfect for a couple with ample space and amenities. Plenty to do in the local area, even in poor weather. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The Bolthole - Compact & cosy detached studio with garden. Located in the heart of Kingswear just 100 metres from the River Dart, the river can be seen from the garden terrace. No hills to climb, just 5 mins walk to the passenger & car ferries for the short trip over to Dartmouth & 2 mins walk to the village shop, a lovely cafe & the Steam Packet pub. Perfect for the coastal path. Street parking is free, 5 mins walk from the property & paid parking is in the marina opposite the property.
The Bolthole is a detached 1 bed studio property nestled in the valley in the heart of Kingswear just above the River Dart and Waterhead Creek. The 2 pubs, cafe and shop are all just a couple of minutes walk away. Newly developed using carefully selected reclaimed materials mixed with all the modern comforts to complement. Located on the slope above our main house there is a lovely little garden with its own deck where the River Dart, the hills in the distance and Waterhead Creek can be seen. You can retreat from the hustle and bustle of Dartmouth in the private garden and enjoy the evening sun. The idea and inspiration was to create a hidden space to escape to and the perfect base to explore South Devon & Cornwall. The property is a very cosy and compact studio. It's one room living with ensuite bathroom and has a coastal feel by way of white washed T&G timber and a hardwood waxed wooden floor reclaimed from marina boards having been weathered for 20 years. The King-size bed has a memory foam mattress and white Egyptian cotton bed linen, we also provide white bath and hand towels. We also provide tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt, pepper, handwash, toilet roll and washing up liquid. There is an area to cook in a well equipped kitchenette and a vintage dining table & chairs. Natural light floods in and the garden has the afternoon and evening sun accessed via double doors that open to the oak steps up to the deck.
A lovely location and the river is 100m away and a short walk to the coastal path. A great local shop, lovely cafe, superb pub, passenger ferry, car ferries, castles, steam trains, steam river boats, walks, vineyards and much more. Not forgetting friendly people!
  • Brilliant value and perfect location

    Rhys2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Matt's place is beautiful! Stylish, comfortable and well equipped and with the most amazing panoramic view of the harbour of kingswear overlooking Dartmouth. We asked to stay at very short notice due to our holiday abroad being cancelled and Matt was very accommodating about this. Check in was easy and was done remotely as Matt and his family were away at the time. Would not hesitate to return. Highly recommend.

  • This is a lovely stylish bolthole in the charming town of Kingswear (just across the water from Dartmouth). It's a small but cosy space that has everything you could need for a short stay.

    Gaby2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to go for a quiet break. Enough room for two to chill out and enjoy the view of the hills and harbour. Lovely pub nearby and the ferry to Dartmouth make it a perfect Bolthole!!!

I've recently moved into a large property in the Heart of Paignton Old Town. It an Historic Period Property with an Old Anglo-Saxon Well situated on the ground floor in the Biker bar/lounge. The whole Building is in the process of being renovated and as a consequence I will be targeting travelers on a budget. I mentioned my Biker bar/lounge which has a Private bar and is in the process of being a assembled. Guests are welcome to enjoy a drink at the bar if they choose to do so.
I have 1 single room available at the moment but other rooms will become available as the Renovation progresses. I will have a Twin loft room available very soon.
Paignton has become a destination for bikers for a few years now, having regular bike festivals and bike nights. As I'm a biker myself I am keen to attract travelers on 2 wheels.
  • I enjoyed in Glen's place. So stylish place in the centre of Paignton. I felt little bit like to be back in 19 century, because the building it's quite historical and room is so cosy. My experience couldn't have been better.

    Tomáš2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Glen is a great guy. Really helpful and nice. Definitely will recommend.

    Tom2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Good person and perfect accommodation with everything you need, very good value for money, nice place near the center of Paignton and the beach. Totally recommended, the second time I stay at home and very well both times.

  • Glen’s place is as described. Will recommend.

    Kevin2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed staying with Glen! He is a friendly person, very flexible and provided everything I needed for the stay. The experience in the kitchen where a local radio plays and has a free bird was nice, I felt comfortable to use the utensils and there was some food available if you felt hungry out of time.

    Tula2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Simple and very clean accommodation, all that I needed. The place is going to be perfect for like minded people and has lots of potential when everything is finished.

A cosy, grade II listed cottage, located in the beautiful riverside village of Dittisham, South Hams, Devon. The cottage adjoins the historic quayside on the river Dart . The village has two public houses, a fish restaurant and a well-stocked shop/post office. The cottage has two double and one single bedrooms. The kitchen is fitted with washer/dryer, fridge, oven and dishwasher. There is internet access and a wood-burner for chilly evenings and outside shower (for wet suits and muddy paws!).
We do accept up to 2 dogs and Dittisham is a family friendly place - we welcome babies and toddlers! There are two car parks in the village at the ‘Ham’ or on the ‘Levels’.
The area offers a wealth of activities for all ages: the river is perfect for sailing, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding all of which can be hired from the quayside. The surfing beach at Bantham is only about 20 minutes away. For the little ones, there is crabbing from the pontoon on the quayside, a playground on the Ham and Woodlands Family Theme Park is only 4 miles away. Paignton Zoo is about 40 minutes across the river . We recommend a trip on the steam railway from Dartmouth which runs along the Dart valley.
  • Lovely cottage in a fabulous location - a really special place to stay. We were with 3 kids and a dog and it was really comfortable. Kids went crabbing each day, we got the boat to Dartmouth and we ate at the pub two doors down - a perfect couple of days. Would highly recommend .

    Tamsin2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time in Catherine's cottage. The location was beautiful and our hosts were very helpful.

    Candice2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely gorgeous cottage, well kitted out, comfortable and clean. Possibly a little bit small for 5, esp with the limited seating in the lounge, but perfect for the 4 of us! Only a few doors up from a great local pub and the beach - with crabbing, ferry boats, fishing and visiting seals to enjoy. We had a lovely few days away from the chaos of Christmas before New Year's and enjoyed it so much we nearly called to ask if we could stay longer. A lovely cottage in a lovely part of Devon. Great location. We will definitely come here again.

    Georgina2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a great location. The pub, two doors down is cosy and welcoming and well worth a visit.

    Kris2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage in super location. Great pink pub a couple of steps away and seafood restaurant opposite (does close for winter season) ferries to Greenway and Dartmouth which is nice instead of using car. Good exercise walking up and down the hills. Loved the cottage and Dittisham.

    Fiona2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Words fail to describe how idyllic Dittisham village is and the cottage is fantastic, nestled in the heart of the village right next door to a brilliant pub and fantastic sea food restaurant. The cottage is spacious, cosy and you feel relaxed as soon as you walk through the door. Perfect holiday location and highly recommended. Great host, very responsive and all you need to know in the welcome book. Would definitely stay again.

    Sasha2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cottage, right next to the Ferry Boat Inn. Well equipped kitchen, lots of hot water, clean and tidy, and with a welcome gift of lovely coffee and cookies. Easy access in the day time to ferries. We enjoyed exploring the area and enjoyed walking to Dartmouth and visiting Greenway. Unfortunately the Anchor Stone Cafe was closed during our stay, so we ate almost every night at the Ferry Boat Inn, which had (an off season) more limited menu, but good food just the same. Would recommend!

One dog welcome.
A few steps lead up to the front door which opens into a hallway with ample coat and boot cupboard storage. The main living room is through a door to the right, a lovely bright airy room with vaulted ceiling, dual aspect patio doors and glazes gable. The sitting area has a sofa and armchair along with TV and electric fire. The dining area comfortably seats 2. Through the patio doors you can access the deck that surrounds the exterior of the apartment. Off the living room is the bespoke solid wood kitchen which is well equipped with dishwasher, electric oven, electric hob and fridge and microwave. (Guests have access to the washing machine and freezer in the garage beneath the apartment). The large light and airy super king bedroom (zip and link so can be 2 single beds, please request at the time of booking), set within the eaves at the front of the apartment with velux windows that offer glimpses of the river Dart. The bedroom is also furnished with a chest of drawers, sofa and built in wardrobe. The bathroom is off the hallway with toilet, hand basin, bath with overhead shower. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Saturday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact us with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover. Please get in touch if you need any advice or tips on places to visit, walks (we're right on the South West Coast path), pubs & restaurants etc. Google "Little Meadow Dittisham" to find out more and get in touch.
Nearby: Located on ‘The Level’ in Dittisham you are within walking distance of the village amenities, including the village shop and post office as well as the two village pubs, seafood restaurant (open during the summer months) and the quayside.
  • Warm and comfortable place. Great bed. Well equipped. This is a separate apartment from the house, above the garage. The main living room is at the back and patio doors open onto a steep bank in the garden (with primroses and wild garlic when I was there) but no view. There is a view from the bedroom. The main house next door has the front garden and the view to the Dart but this can be used if the house is unoccupied. Dittisham is a beautiful village with a passenger ferry across the estuary and to Dartmouth, nice walks, two pubs (one is also shop/cafe/post office) and cafe (in season).

    Phil2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Little Meadow is tucked away in an idyllic, private spot, in the sleepy village of Dittisham. It is a very comfortable, light, apartment with everything you need ; warm, cosy and with an extremely large and comfortable bed. It was perfect for doggies, and easy to isolate them in the living areas. The village can be accessed from the back of the property and there are beautiful walks all around. Prosecco and chocolates on arrival was a kind, thoughtful and welcome gift ! Thank you Christine. We would thoroughly recommend Little Meadow for a short stay.

Detached one bedroom (single) holiday let. A converted garage set within the garden area of our property. The garage is made up of two rooms, a bedroom and a modern shower room. The property is double glazed with sliding patio doors, heating, television and free wi-fi. Ideal for single person visiting the area for either work or pleasure.

  • It really is impossible for me to fault anything at this lovely place. Friendly owners, completely fuss-free check-in and out and lovely touches like a large bottle of water. It was a warm day but despite this and the several thunderstorms overnight, I slept really well in the room which stayed pleasantly cool. Comfortable good quality bed was most appreciated and the bathroom is modern, clean and the shower nice and powerful!

The Boathouse is in the most delightful & peaceful creek-side setting, overlooking the water at high tide. A new build in a traditional style it has a stunning balcony with canoes & rowing boat underneath to borrow. Heated by wood burning stove it combines the easy life of being off grid with no tv or internet with the comforts of modern kitchen & bathroom. There is a small mezzanine bedroom accessed by a ships ladder & a bed settee in the living room. This is a fab pad in which to relax.
Your perfect isolated retreat! The boathouse is an idyllic tranquil pad for a few days or a year. Sitting over the water at high tide you can hear little wavelets stirring the dinghies below. Step down into one of the canoes or rowing boat and you are immediately afloat. Get away from the hurly burly. We are virtually off grid- no land line, tv or wifi and intermittent mobile signal (depending on your provider). so time to chill, chat, read, play scrabble, go for a good walk or just wander up to the pubs. Newly built in a traditional, centuries old style the boat house has fully equipped kitchen and cool bathroom with shower. Climb the ship's staircase to the snug mezanine bedroom. (some agility required) Awake to the sight of the river below. Snuggle on the sofa in the living room looking out to the seals, fish jumping and birdlife. Dine or sip a glass or two on the balcony and feed the ducks or swans from above. Relax, retreat, feel comfy, be mindful, reflect, review, do some 'Forward Thinking', recharge, reinvigorate yourselves and/or simply enjoy the tranquility of the boathouse, village and river life. Take a ferry or hire a boat if you dont want to paddle yourself and visit Dartmouth, Stoke Gabriel, The Tuckenhay pubs, Totnes or sample the river Dart wine at Sharpham or jump on the steam train at Kingswear or pop across to Greenaway to visit Agatha Christie's lovely house and gardens. The choice is yours- we can guide you or you can just chill and see what each day brings. The hot tub in the main house garden may he available in good weather and is heated by yourselves firing up a wood burning stove. the indoor pool may also be available to share in warm times. Yoga on Tuesdays and palates on Mondays. Fun quiz night on Thursdays and classic heart warming traditional roasts on Sundays (+ veg options)...all within gentle walking distance. Come and enjoy a few special wellbeing days
Dittisham is a lovely and friendly riverside village with a shop and 2 pubs plus a cafe. people are drawn back here over their lifetime and a good number decide to settle here when life allows it
  • The boat house is a beautiful property. It’s the nicest place I have ever stayed in. An amazing house and a truly wonderful host.

    Hannah2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Such a tranquil space, you are at one with nature. I would recommend the boathouse to anyone.

    Lois2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place allowed my wife and I to switch off from the stresses of daily life and we've come home a lot more relaxed than when we arrived. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a similar experience.

    Steven2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A little part of me wants to downplay this review, so we can maybe keep the secret to ourselves for longer. Of course this wouldn't be fair to Peter, our super host. So, suffice to say, this is one of the most relaxing, peaceful, beautiful, scenic places I have ever visited. If you want to be in touch with work, the news, the world, then it might not suit you. If, on the other hand, you want to get away from it all, sit and watch the tides come and go in front of a toasty wood burning stove, I can think of very few other places that this might be as achievable. Despite pretty grim weather, having spent 3 nights at The Boathouse, I feel like a different person, in a good way!. Highly recommended.

    Simon2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We cannot thank Peter enough for letting us stay in his boathouse retreat. It was honestly the most peaceful break away from the daily chaos and by far the best way to celebrate my birthday. Peter was so helpful and provided fantastic recommendations of local walks and places to eat. We loved watching the birds, relaxing by the fire and enjoying what the boathouse had to offer. We will most defiantly be back to stay again! Thank you Peter.

    Jessica2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic airbnb! Was as good as it looked in the pictures. A real novelty being on the waters edge. Thanks Peter.

    James2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Peter made us feel very welcome, travelling from Derby he let us check in early as well, which was great! He had also got a birthday card and balloon for my girlfriend (as we were away for her Birthday) which was a nice touch and bottle of Rose in the fridge waiting for her. The boat house was amazing and the view every morning and evening was incredible. Great place to escape from everything and switch off with the wood burner going. We used the canoe to go out on the river which was a good laugh, didn’t quite make it to the pub in it though (Due to our poor rowing skills!). The locals in the FBI pub were great also and really friendly. Would go back again and 100% recommend to friends and family. Thanks again Peter 👍🏽

    Mathew2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. The silence was deafening. Peter from the moment we booked was thoughtful and contacted us to remind us for a few bits like torches and wellies. He was the perfect host. We will be recommending this to all of our friends and maybe come back ourselves in the summer for a canoe. Thanks Peter!

  • We had a lovely stay here. It was perfectly clean, it was really easy to get in and sort ourselves out, the information given is accurate. It was very relaxing extremely quiet. Just outside the bungalow is a great view of the river. Short and beautiful drive to the historic town of Dartmouth. It was well placed to easily access all the local towns.

  • Accommodation has everything you will need for a self catering stay. Kitchen is very well equipped. Walks from the door so no need to drive if you don’t want to. Would recommend Greenway House (didn’t go inside) & gardens, absolutely stunning. Great communication from the host. Would love to come back to explore a bit more of the area :-)

    Tracey2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Access to the property was easy, my husband who is disabled had good access from the parking bay to the property. All rooms were clean and well maintained. The shower was perfect hot and strong. There were plenty of pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery. There were plenty of booklets with details of places to visit. If we didn't want to go out for the day to local towns or beaches there were plenty of walks. There was so much to do we didn't have time to see everything. The heating was spot on, if we went out we were able to put it on as soon as we came in and the bungalow heated quite quickly. Loved being there.

I have a mid twentieth century house with large windows, full of light. It's on the edge of Totnes, with the sound of sheep grazing and with wonderful views over Totnes itself and on to Dartmoor. There are wonderful sunsets to be seen and you can sit on the bench outside to admire them from the garden. I am into healthy nutrition and aim to provide my guests with delicious but healthy food. I'm also able to give plenty of suggestions for places to go and things to do in and around the area.
My house has a warm, welcoming, homely vibe, bringing into focus its architectural origins and making the most of them. It has an airy feel, being near the top of the hill with wonderful wide views of the sky and surrounding area.
Bridgetown is a quiet area and my house is on the edge of it, close to open countryside. Totnes is an amazing and unique town - very pretty and with much to offer being close to both Dartmoor and the sea.
  • Very last minute booking!, Sally was warm and very friendly and helpful and made me feel at home, the room was very clean as was the whole house enjoyed my stay alot and in a ideal location aswell

  • Great host in a great location. Weather was wet, (obviously not Sally's doing) but view still good in a moody dark way. Pleasant small town to spend the afternoon in.

  • Enjoyed an excellent stay at Sally's place. Very clean, quiet and comfortable space, and a great base for exploring Totnes and South Devon. Sally was friendly and welcoming, and we shared some lovely conversations. Would wholeheartedly recommend!

    Matt2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • As mentioned In Sally’s description, this is on the far edge of town at the top of the hill, but does offer a quiet and safe base to stay with good views of Totnes Castle and church. A good night sleep was had with a comfy bed and a nice touch of fresh lavender placed in the room. Very good value for money, and we left Totnes having made a lovely new friend.

Very picturesque area of south Devon, overlooking the river Dart. Fantastic sitting out on the terrace in warmer weather sipping on a glass of wine - ah the life! Kingswear has it all and an amazing pub which makes the best pizza in Devon. Not for the faint hearted however, it's rather hilly, but great exercise! Short walk to bus into Paignton and Brixham and beyond. Overlooking Dartmouth which is full of quirky little shops and cafes, and hosts an annual regatta in August.
My spare room is just off the kitchen at the opposite end of the flat from the rest of the rooms so quite private. Direct access onto the terrace. The bed is a very comfortable day bed (ask my cats!) and I use the room as a home office (when not hosting). This is a vegan household so please respect that. I dont mind dairy products being brought in, stored in the fridge, etc but cooking meat is an absolute no no! I have two cats who rule the house so if you're not a cat lover this is probably not the place for you. Used to having couchsurfers so thought I'd give this a go. Please don't expect a palace - the room is priced cheaply as I'd rather no one expected hotel standards! Oh and bathroom is shared hence why I'd prefer single travellers only.
Check out the Steampacket, Coleton Fishacre, and Greenway. Then there's always Dartmouth and Kingswear castles, take a boat trip up to Totnes, down the coast to Blackpool beach or round to Torquay. So many options. Just ask if there's anything you want to know about the area.

  • The place is so well organised for hosting. Pippa goes to extra lenghts to acomodate your needs. The shortcut to the main street makes it easy to pop in to town. The room was neat, with all I needed. Beautiful comfortable large bed, so cost. Very clean house and well organised. Thank you Pippa for having me!

  • Carole was outstandingly patient with me as I changed my arrival time four times over an evening eventually arriving four hours after I said I would. I wish I’d had longer there as the room is spotless, en-suite ideal, parking easy and a great location. Carole’s directions took me right there too. I’d love to stay again.

The Old Brewhouse is a stunning Grade II Listed holiday home, just a step back from the quayside in Dittisham. Cleverly renovated around the quirky angles this old house has provided, this property has become a favourite with couples and families alike to enjoy Dittisham, The Dart and the wider South Hams.  Combining old with new, this bright, contemporary home makes the most of the river views through its Gothic leaded windows in the lounge and the master bedroom set in the eves. The quayside, Ferry Boat Inn and Anchorstone Café are all on your doorstep (don't worry the pub is not known to get rowdy). Dittisham is a great location for families with children as they will love crabbing from the pontoon and The Ham provides a good open space to let off steam. Guests have access to a private parking space off-site and a small private courtyard at the rear of the property.
Accommodation: Through the bespoke front door from Manor Street into the hallway that takes you straight through to the contemporary kitchen diner  A velux window in the part high vaulted ceiling and the patio door fill the room with light, the kitchen area on the far wall is compact but at the same time very well-equipped, open shelving means most items are all within arms reach. The kitchen is equipped with an integrated fridge with ice box, washing machine/tumble dryer, dishwasher, electric oven and halogen hob with handcrafted oak worktop and shelves over. The dining table and chairs comfortably seat 4 with a wall mounted TV and DVD. There is a bathroom off the kitchen which contains a bath with shower over, Roca toilet, basin and heated chrome towel rail. Upstairs to the first floor sitting room with dual aspect Gothic leaded windows; providing east and west river views. Painted beams and exposed stonework pay homage to the history of the building. The sofa (sofa bed as an alternative to the bunk beds), Armchair and modern pine coffee table with TV and DVD. On this floor there is a childs bunk room with built in bunk beds under the pitch of the roof, storage has cleverly and playfully been built in around the angles of the room. Upstairs again the eves of the house where guests will find the en suite master bedroom. Again combining the old and the new with exposed roof trusses and arched Gothic window creating a quirky yet comfortable space with lovely river views to wake up to, Velux windows fill the room with light with a few items of playful decor that reflect the owners fun and free spirited personality. The en suite bathroom is cleverly squeezed in with bath, Roca toilet and basin, there is a hand held shower head however very few can stand in the bath. Outside: There is a small walled courtyard off the kitchen with sandstone paving, pebble margin, garden furniture, barbecue, bollard lighting, small power (hot and cold) shower – ideal for washing wet suits and children. Though it isn't the spot for basking in the sun, it is a nice area for alfresco dining or a peaceful morning coffee. Parking: It is possible to pull out up outside for loading/unloading, an allocated parking space is provided at the top on Manor Street (about 500 yards away). Please note Manor Street is quite steep. Availability: In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Saturday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact me with any requests you may have, and we will accommodate if possible. Out of peak season we don't need to keep to a Saturday changeover. Please get in touch if you need any advice or tips on places to visit, walks (we're right on the South West Coast path), pubs & restaurants etc. Google "The Old Brewhouse Dittisham" to find out more and get in touch.
Dittisham is a stunningly picturesque old village on the bank of the Dart river. The village pub The Ferry Boat Inn is next door (don't worry it is not known to be noisy) and the Anchorstone Café is across the road. At The Quay where you will find the ferries to Greenway and Dartmouth. At the top of the village you will find the second village pub The Red Lion which also hosts the village shop and post office. Children love crabbing from the pontoon and The Ham provides a good open space to let off steam. The closest beach is Blackpool Sands a 10-minute drive away in the village of Stoke Fleming.
  • This is a beautiful old house situated a stone's throw from the river with stunning views, wonderful walking routes, and a couple of lovely pubs close by. It's very well equipped with everything you could possibly need.

Perfectly placed to explore vibrant Totnes. A good sized bedroom with a comfortable double bed in the heart of the town. Ideally suited for solo travellers, or couples looking for a relaxing, clean and private space close to all the independent boutiques, cafes and galleries. Breakfast is included, and you can choose from a range of cereals, home baked bread, preserves, fruit, and juice. (We provide both dairy and non dairy milk.)
A great place to stay whilst attending a course, or as a base to explore Totnes and the surrounding area. Our quirky home is over 250 years old, a Georgian building in a medieval town. We are right in the middle of Totnes, near to the historic Seven Stars Hotel. Many of the main interest points of the town are within a few minutes walk away: the River Dart, the Steamer Quay, the Curator Cafe, the Norman castle, the market square and numerous cafes, pubs and independent shops. It's very easy to stay here without a car: there are good public transport links including rail and coach. The bus and coach stop is just across the street, and the train station is a 10-15 minute walk. The house is light and airy in the Summer, but warm and cosy in the Winter months. We are happy for guests to make use of our kitchen and sunny decked terrace. Our house contains hundreds of books you are most welcome to read. In particular we offer: - super fast wi fi access - tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom - an earth friendly, sustainable household - 100% cotton bed linen and towels - eco friendly, vegan toiletries: soap, shampoo and conditioner - clothes storage - hair dryers, an iron and ironing board are available on request.
Totnes is a thriving town with a diverse and independent community. Many of its residents are writers or artists. It has bags of history and character. It has a wide range of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, art galleries, interesting independent shops, live music events and venue spaces. The town has a rich heritage, and there is much to see and do: a museum, a Norman castle, Ghost Walks, Transition Town tours and colourful markets filled with antiques, artisan food and bohemian clothing. The location of the town offers easy access to Dartmoor and the South Hams AONB and coastal areas. There are also great walks around the town, offering routes to Sharpham and the Dartington estate.
  • This place is just what you need for a stay in Totnes. Best part was breakfast! Thank you.

    Heather2018-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea and her family are absolutely great. I had the pleasure to stay at their house with my girlfriend for an extended period of time, we both loved it. The room and the private bathroom are lovely and cozy, super clean and there's everything you would typically need, if not more. The location of the house is perfect, 5 minutes walk from the town centre, train and bus stations and shops, and about 15 minutes from the beaches. I strongly suggest this place and this family, they really made us feel at home.

    Giuseppe2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea was a delightful host offering lovely accommodation. Nothing but good things to say about my stay.

  • Cheerful, clean room in a quiet street in a pleasant family home, in a central location

    Diane2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea could not have been more helpful, this was my first time using Airbnb and I didn't really know what to expect when I arrived there. However I needn't to have worried, check -in was great, met by Gurd, with Andrea arriving later. I thoroughly recommend this room, it was clean & tidy. Meeting the family was great, I felt really at home here, I arrived as a stranger and departed more like a friend of the family. If I am in Paignton again I will certainly be looking to see if this room is available again. So a big thank you to Andrea and family for making me so welcome during my 11 night visit.

  • From the warm open welcome to the suggestion of a lovely walk to the quayside through an apple orchard past the church to the great bath with snuggly towels and robe all relaxed me enough to have a wonderful nights’ sleep in a comfortable bed. Thanks very much Margaret

    Amanda2019-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret's home was an exceptional find for me, and most convenient for my visit to Stoke Gabriel. Being without a car could have been a problem, but Margaret kindly met me at the railway station, and transported me on the first day. The accommodation is splendid with a most comfortable bed and sufficient hanging space. The private bathroom has a bath with its own integral shower and lots of extras like shower gel, and even disposable razor and bath robe. A lot of thought provides the visitor with a very pleasant stay. The breakfast has choices, but I must admit that the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs was my favourite! Not to mention the home-made marmalade of which Paddington Bear would have been proud. And, of course the porridge, the fruit, the wonderful bread etc. I thoroughly recommend "The Nook" as the place to stay in the Paignton area. Ken Osbourn

Your stay will be private and cosy. This is a tranquil space set in pretty garden. Please note, this is not a large space; however, the cabin interior contains everything you need for a short break within an open-plan lounge/sleeping area - with sofa bed and kitchen area - and a separate shower room. There is a double sofa bed (longer than usual), very easy to slide out (quality memory-foam mattress topper provided behind, bedding stored discreetly under chaise), drop-leaf table, WiFi, TV/DVD player. The fully equipped kitchen area includes a fridge, hob, combi oven/microwave and cooking utensils. I've tried to fit in everything you could possible need but please ask if there is anything else you require! Turn right out of house and walk to end of street into what looks like a dead end, then right again on to main road and left downhill into town. And it's only 5 minutes to the late-closing local Bridgetown store and local pub. Please also note there are no hidden extras - no cleaning or parking fee!
Visit Totnes High St and town centre on foot, a 10-minute walk - for Medieval buildings, Fri/Sat bustling popular market selling craft, foods and antiques, independent shops and cafes, art galleries, live music venues (check out The Barrel House) and castle. The ferry to Dartmouth is another 5 minutes along the river - well worth the one and a half hour trip. Also easy access to lovely river walk to Steam Railway, Totnes Rail Station and a mile further on to the beautiful gardens of Dartington estate with its arts cinema and events. The cabin's location also means you have easy access nearby to all main roads out of town– Torquay, Dartington, Exeter, Dartmoor. It's the perfect location to explore both the town, and the coast, surrounding villages and Dartmoor National Park.
  • A really cosy cabin, in easy walking distance to Totnes. I had everything I needed and Nicky was extremely helpful.

  • I visited Nicky's tiny house for a weekend break and was met with a cosy and welcoming place with all the amenities we needed. Despite very stormy weather, we were happy relaxing in the house and using it as a base to see some of the local area when we wanted to brave the outdoors. A friendly host, great communication and thoughtful/personal touches rounded out the experience - thoroughly recommended.

  • This was our first time in a tiny home and we truly loved it. Located in the heart of Totnes we found the location to be the perfect hub to visit the South Hams of Devon. Parking was also included on the premises. Although small the cabin was really comfortable for two adults. In addition it was full of amenities including heating, hot water and a comfortable sofa bed. The host, Nicky was a pleasure to meet. She made sure we had all the necessities that we might have required during our stay. Overall a great stay. We would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Totnes and the surrounding areas.

  • Nicky's cabin was a pleasure to stay in. Definitely my first ever detached property in around 20 Airbnbs I've stayed in! Cosy, exceptionally clean and with everything you'd need for a break in Totnes. Terrific shower, well-equipped kitchen, super comfy big bed and a peaceful and beautiful view. Nicky is a warm and generous soul and her cabin, as well as being only a short walk from the centre, was a treat to come back to and snuggle. Thank you Nicky.

  • Such a lovely cabin very cosy and I would highly recommend it for seeing Totnes and the surrounding beauty

    Rudy2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Charming little cabin which has been well and thoughtfully fitted out with quality furnishings. Very warm and a good hot shower. Quiet garden location. Ideal for 1 person. The parking space was a bonus. It is a short walk to town and the river. Nicky was friendly & helpful but not intrusive. I would definitely stay again.

This compact & cosy well equipped chalet is 1 bedroom with a double bed . A shower room - no bath- with toilet, and basin. The main room has a small kitchen area with an oven, grill & hob, a fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, and well stocked kitchen utensils, plus a hospitality tray for your arrival. There is a sofa that folds out to become a SMALL double bed, a TV & DVD, plus table & chairs. Duvets, Pillows, Bed linen, Towels and T towels are all included
Chalet 448 is south facing and located inland at Norton Park, approximately 1.5 miles from the historical Dartmouth Town Centre . It sleeps two comfortably, but a sofa bed and bedding is available for use for others. I also have a single blow up mattress and bedding available should you require. The chalet is small but the price per night reflects this.
The Norton Park site is very quiet and where we are sited is peaceful, as we look out onto the Rhododendron bushes opposite- beautiful when in bloom! Lovely to hear the birds singing. The site is best accessed by car (as there is not a pavement to walk into Dartmouth), and due to cuts in public transport I would recommend checking the bus table if you arrive on foot.
  • Clean, compact, well equipped kitchen - great for a base in Dartmouth.

  • Lovely cosy chalet. Extremely clean and well located for Dartmouth. Would be perfect for 2 adults and is fine for more... we found it a bit of a squeeze with our 2 daughters but the price... it represents incredible value. Lovely stay.

  • Lucy's chalet was perfect for us. We stayed 2 nights with our baby. We were able to completely relax and unwind due to its beautiful location it looks out onto countryside. We were able to cook both nights with no issues all equipment is provided and a good selection of everything you need. The chalet was lovely and clean. And can't wait to come back in the summer so we can enjoy the outside area. Thank you.

Single room with adjacent toilet in part time family home. We are very welcoming and happy to work to provide a pleasant and exciting stay for you. Views over the charming Totnes. Parking is free and generally plentiful near the house. I'm a teacher/actor/caterer. We are about 20/25 mins walk from the station.
  • I had a great stay here...actually I’ve stayed twice!...and Tom is a genuinely lovely and helpful host. Room was cosy with very comfy bed and the loo is right next door. It’s a great location for the town which was easily walkable and the street was quiet so I slept very well. Also it’s excellent value for money...I will be back!!! Thanks again Tom 👍 😊

  • Being welcomed with a cup of tea at the close of a long day was wonderful. The bed is very comfortable and facilitated a good nights sleep. The house is light and airy, Tom is open and friendly. It was really nice being downstairs and having the loo and sink right next to my room. I felt very much at home. If all goes to plan, I will book again.

Bright, clean and comtemporary. Overlooking Dartmoor and the river Dart. King size double bed in an exceptionally large room with desk, chairs, storage and a comfortable sofa. Wifi included. Situated in a very quiet location just a 15 minute river walk into town. Renowned for its cafes, shops and a fantastic atmosphere. 5 minute drive to Totnes centre. 30 min drive to stunning beaches and coast path walks. 30 min drive to Dartmoor. is also a second large bedroom available.
My home is a bright fresh contemporary house in a very fortunate situation up on a hill right beside the River Dart in Totnes and with views of Dartmoor and Haytor and the beautiful sunsets over the Moor. Its hill side situation also means that the sun shines fully onto it from late morning until evening. It's totally quiet with no traffic noise at all which makes it a very restful retreat space. You'll have easy access to the vibrant atmosphere of Totnes and all the wonderful cafes and entertainment. You can walk to the town centre in 20 minutes. There are many local walks along the river- To Sharpham Estate in one direction and to Dartington Hall in the other. At Dartington Hall you can find the most beautiful gardens, an amazing cafe, the barn fringe cinema as well as a vast selection of music, dance and workshops. It's fantastic! Totnes is also the original transition town and the dedicated members of TTT (Transition Town Totnes) have enhanced the stunning beauty of the town by planting a lot of nut trees and planters for people to help themselves to salad, strawberries and raspberries ! TTT also offers films and talks to inform people of healthy attitudes to Nature and the environment . Totnes is close to the coast and Dartmoor, both offering wild and tranquil activities. Stunning walks and cafes at the coast and breathtaking views and characterful pubs with real ales on the moor. For people wanting to come away with family and friends I have one double room available and a king size room also .
Totnes is without a doubt the best town in Devon. The house sits on a hill overlooking the River Dart and Dartmoor.
