Just super - as someone who's been on the road for weeks and just needed someplace that felt like a comfortable home to relax for the night (and who craved a cute historic space along the river), the mill house far exceeded expectations. One of the nicest, cleanest AirBNBs I've ever seen. A+ all around for ease of finding, communicating, and having all the right little touches. Loved just sitting in the windowsill, drinking tea and watching the water roll by at sunset!

The place was beautiful, nicely decorated and clean. We especially enjoyed the views out the windows, of the town, the river and the hills. The room was well-lit day and night. Dianne was easy to communicate with and tried to be flexible with a couple of our specific needs which we really appreciated.

The place is super clean and has everything you may need. Though there is no kitchen in it there is a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker.

Cozy cabin in a beautiful valley.

This was the perfect place for a weekend retreat! Each room has a space heater for the winter cold, surprisingly good internet for being in a valley, and our hosts even came in clutch with canola oil so we could fry up some steaks. I travel to NE Iowa pretty frequently and would definitely stay here again!

Patty’s Shack is very clean, well stocked and comfortable.

We found the Opal Suite to be quite charming, extremely clean, and tastefully decorated. It is easy walking distance to restaurants/bars/shops. The kitchen and bathroom were stocked with many unexpected amenities that allowed us to fully enjoy our stay. Sensitive sleepers may find the furnace a little loud, but we still recommend staying at this property.

What a great space! My sisters and I enjoyed the weekend here. It was easy to find and a short walk to several restaurants and the river. Nutmegs is a great place if you are looking breakfast. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the Lansing area.

We had a great break from the city at Eric's cabin. So quiet and peaceful. The hot tub and gas-fired woodstoves made everything super cozy! Cabin kitchen is well-stocked, beds are really comfortable, and check-in instructions are easy. Thanks Eric!

Eric’s place was the perfect spot for our Driftless weekend! The cabin was incredibly comfortable and offered plenty of space for our group of six. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Lots of hiking and fishing nearby, and the hot tub was an added bonus after long days outside. The only downside was the extremely high pet fee as we travel with our dog.

Very clean home located in a rural setting, not far off the highway. Easy to get to and host is great to communicate with. We had a boat with us and were able to park it at the home while still attached to truck.

This space was absolutely perfect for the quiet weekend getaway I was looking for. The house is very cozy and is furnished with everything you will need. It has a great view of the Mississippi and is nestled back away from roads or many people. It was quiet and wonderful for a weekend away from the city. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a peaceful place to relax and recuperate.

In the same time it takes to get to downtown La Crosse from the ski hill at Mt La Crosse you can head the other direction and find peace and serenity. The Hermitage has been a retreat in the past and you will feel that comfort and calming presence. Enjoy the beautiful views along 15 minute drive, and leave feeling calm and relaxed.

John’s place was very serene and peaceful, yet still had modern amenities such as fast wifi and streaming Netflix. He was very communicative and understanding when bad weather happened to hit us.

Accommodations were as listed. Clean, comfortable and welcoming. We would love to return when we have more times to enjoy the area. A beautiful quiet place to stay.

Relaxing, sparkling clean and very comfortable cabin! Had all the essentials needed, including cookware, basic spices, towels and even WiFi. John was always available for any questions and very accommodating the entire stay. Lots of space to stretch out. Definitely recommend.

This place was perfect for a family get together. Plenty of bedrooms and space to spread out. Our group of 9 (7 adults and 2 youngins under age 2) were very comfortable in the space and we had a lot of fun! Next time we’ll be sure to check out some of the local establishments as this time we were too busy hanging out and playing darts at the house. 10/10.

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend at the cabin. The cabin is so cute and homey. Brent and Charity are fantastic hosts. Both were very quick to respond if we had a question. Charity stopped by and showed us how to use the wood stove. She was so friendly and hospitable. We loved our stay and will definitely return in the future!!

Amazing communication between the hosts and the visitors. Answered every question I had and provided everything we needed to know. Great house with an awesome view, and amenities . I would recommend a 4wd or awd vehicle for getting over the creek in winter but a fwd would probably work just fine. We loved it so much we plan an returning sometime later this year.

Brents place was great for a fall getaway!

Our stay at the log cabin was absolutely AMAZING. Our band was touring in the area at the time and we wanted somewhere peaceful to relax for a few days mid tour. The log cabin was that and more. Very clean, everything you could want was there, I really cant emphasise enough how beautiful the area is, the forest and streams, realistically we spent 90% of our time in the hot tub which was so just so awesome. And lastly Charity, Brent's partner, was just the most amazing host, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay in De Soto. We will definitely come back next time we tour here to stay at the cabin. A+++

The cabin is lovely and nicely furnished. Great place to feel secluded, a real getaway from everything. The jacuzzi is a huge draw and we really enjoyed our time there.

Awesome place to get away up on the Mississippi. Very homie and cozy cabin 10/10 recommended for a place to stay. it was awesome to be about to pull the boat in with the cold temps.

For anyone looking hike, bike, boat or hunt in the Lansing area. This place offers a spacious place to come back to at the end of the day to relax. All the amenities of home.

We were in Lansing for a wedding. This was a great place to stay. Super cute decor. Very clean. BIG space - had the bridal party over to get ready for the wedding. The owners were quick to respond for reservations & questions. Highly recommend.

We used this cabin for a guys fishing trip weekend, and it was nothing short of amazing! Not only was the cabin outstanding, but the local eateries and location for the river was top notch! We look forward to using this cabin again!

This was my second time in this lovely cabin, and hope to go back again. It offers a well supplied kitchen and is very clean and homey. The front porch has a wonderful view and when not sitting around a fire outside, there is great table space for cards/games/puzzles and TV/DVD to those who prefer doing that. It is also nice that there is a full bathroom on each floor to serve a big number of people. There is so much to see and do in the area. We even did a day trip to Potosi WI to visit the old brewery (great food and beer) and the winery right across the street. Lots of hiking with being so near Effigy mounds and Pike's peak state park. We will for sure be back again.

This cabin was perfect for our party of 8. The cabin is clean, the amenities were great, the views were spectacular. Lansing is adorable and we found so many fun things to do. We cant wait to go back.

Cute, rustic converted ‘farmhouse’ (it is in town). Clean, spacious and had a friendly and responsive owner. We enjoyed our overnight stay.

This was a last minute decision and one of my better ones. The cabin is absolutely beautiful with stunning views. It is perfectly and beautifully appointed and there was not a thing I looked for that I couldn’t find. I cooked a meal and felt like I was at home. The bed upstairs is crazy comfortable (to the degree that I overslept on check out day) and the hot tub was sparkling clean. I cannot recommend this enough!

Expect the following: One of the magnificent views of the Mississippi River I've seen. A setting among wonderful mature trees. I great space outdoors with a gazebo and fire fit. DeSoto is one of a string of charming towns up and down this part of the river. Place was very clean. Jill is super attentive to needs and she's fast in getting back to you.

This is such a great place to stay. The view is remarkable and the space is very comfortable. The master bed is very comfortable. The upstairs is a little tight, but sleeps great. There is plenty of parking for a couple vehicles and even a small to medium sized trailer. The hosts are very responsive and friendly. This is a great place to stay, you wont be disappointed.

A great retreat in the bluffs! The house was very home-y and welcoming. Everything was very clean and well kept. Many of the basics were also available (kitchen, bathroom). There were also many kids amenities including books, toys, silverware, and bath toys. With the heat we didn't use the deck, but it had a great set up! Definitely recommend!!

Lansing is only 8 miles away! It's a small town but a lot to do and see!

Danielle and Heath’s home is even nicer than what you see in the pictures. It was sparkling clean, and has very cute decor and comfortable furniture. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking family meals and the deck barbecue is in excellent condition. There is a new Keurig coffee maker that was so nice for enjoying morning coffee on the deck. Communication with Danielle and Heath was excellent and they checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed during our 5 day stay. The location was perfect for visiting our daughter-in-laws’ family who are dairy farmers in the Lansing area. We rented bikes in Decorah one day - highly recommend Toppling Giant Brewery for after ride refreshments! It is also close to other great places we would recommend including Effigy Mounds, the Driftless Center and Prairie du Chien. All in all a wonderful experience- hope to stay again the next time we are in Iowa.

Dacia is a wonderful host - very responsive and accommodating. Great location for the job we were on and was the perfect spot to stay for a little over 2 months this winter. House was clean and comfortable!

Wonderful spot on the river. Very clean and perfect for a 2 week stay while working in the area. Our host was very helpful and responsive. We had such a great experience we booked it again for the remainder of our stay at this job site.

You can expect more than what the pictures show! The place is simply the most comfortable place we’ve stayed so far. From layout to furniture - it all enhances the view. It’s not ”hotel modern”, but that wouldn’t fit in with the area anyway. If you love this area, it’s the perfect spot with all the right stuff.

We stayed here for a couple nights and loved the location. We brought our boat and used the dock which was perfect. Very nice and a quiet location. The only exception would be the train going by every once and awhile but we thought that was pretty cool in itself.

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Clean, warm, comfy beds and close to hunting and fishing. Hard to beat! Check-in and check-outs were accommodating to our schedule which we really appreciated. Overall, had a great time and would recommend for families, friends, hunts, and fishermen alike.

The owners clearly take great care of this place. We enjoyed our stay immensely! Definitely check out the Wooden Nickel in town, and the village of Gays Mills (shops, orchards + more!)

The cabin is beautifully maintained, and it was a comfortable place for our low-key, board-game-filled stag party. Highlights include the nearby river access, the beautiful drive into Decorah, IA, and just the relaxing porch where we drank our coffee. The only downside is that Wifi wasn't working, and it's located between a country highway and a railroad, so the light sleepers in our group woke up a couple times. It's also a duplex, but our neighbors were very friendly and quiet.

The view is tranquil, overlooking waterways in a wooded setting. Train enthusiasts see locomotive traffic a few times a day, nustled into the ravine. The rooms are spacious, beds very comfortable, bathrooms very clean, and kitchen accessible. It was a wonderful getaway for our family Christmas puzzle assembly and meals. You'll enjoy your stay immensely.

I sadly wasn’t able to come along with my family on this trip due to illness, but my mom and sister both had a fantastic stay! They had car trouble and ended up having to find the place on foot in the dark, Dacia and her husband were available and graciously helped them find their way over the phone when they got lost. They both agreed they would stay here again :)

Great place to stay. Very close to the river. Trains are a nuisance until you get used to them. Front living room has beautiful windows overlooking the river. Unfortunately, there are no blinds so it is kinda like living in a fish bowl. A microwave in the kitchen would be helphul but the Keurig is a nice touch. Unit has 2 half baths and a full bath with laundry.

This is a lovely place with a panoramic view of the river. Teresa is responsive and flexible. The neighbors were friendly and helpful. The rooms have comfortable beds! Nice to have a washer and drier. The place is within walking distance of downtown Lansing and Miley’s Restaurant. So delicious.

The Grandview House was amazing! It’s layout is perfect and the living space is so inviting! Great personal touches such as plush blankets, throw pillows, and a Keurig with a selection of coffee. Very clean home!

Perfect location! Plenty of space to spread out.

This loft is a great place to stay - pool table and entertainment center kept our down time interesting, the location meant we could walk so many places, the kitchen was great (and fully equipped) for the few meals eaten in. While there, we visited Blackhawk Park in Wisconsin, used Upper Iowa resort for shuttling to put in for kayaks on the Upper Iowa, went trout fishing at Ckear Creek Park and rented a pontoon from S&S Rentals for a day on the Mississippi. In all, it was a great trip to Lansing, Iowa.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Lansing and the area have so many charms. The loft space is incredible...great for four or more. We loved the pool and ping pong table and the delightful nooks around the space. All made for great community and individual space.

The beds were comfortable the place was clean and there is a full swing in the living room. This was loft style living and very open concept. Lots to do in the area and very scenic. If you are visiting ferryville or any of the surrounding towns this is the place to be. Also best Bloody Mary ever at the wooden nickel.

Thanks Glen for opening up this cool spot. I had a great stay and loved looking out across the Mississippi while catching up on a little work. Couldn’t believe all the Bald Eagles the area, more than I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Christine was blown away. This was such a great location as we explored north to La Crosse, then the next day went south to Prairie de Chien. The place was clean, the bed was comfortable and there was everything we needed. Convenient to have places to eat within walking distance. Looking forward to booking again in the fall.

Had an amazing time at Sunset Cabin. It was beautiful, and the sunset in the hot tub was amazing. 😊 I would definitely visit there again.
