  • I have been staying at Gerry and Maureen's apartment, as I had to move from my own house, due to being a frontline worker during the coronavirus pandemic. I cannot say enough good things about Gerry and Maureen's place. It is spotless, with lots of lovely thoughtful touches. Gerry and Maureen are incredibly generous and accommodating hosts, who have gone out of their way to make me welcome. I cannot recommend their apartment enough, ideally situated for a visit to Cork.

This cozy cottage is a the perfect location to help you to get away from it all. A unique piece of history in a beautiful and relaxed seaside village; the cottage was constructed in the sixteen hundreds and has a timeless homely feel. Its only a 5 minute walk from Myrtleville beach:) The antique stove (and central heating) provides gorgeous heat and fuel is provided for guests no matter what the season. Stunning coastal walks are easily reached and bound to impress no matter what the weather.
This charming gardeners cottage pre-dates Myrtleville House (which adjoins the cottage) and was built behind the sheltering walls of a 2 acre vegetable garden. Once said to be used as a small monastery, it is a truly unique building in a gorgeous setting. As soon as the fire is lighting and the kettle is on; the worries of the modern world should start to ease away. Over the last couple of years I have been renovating and improving every room in an effort to improve comfort while maintaining the old world charm. The kitchen is the heart of the home, with a cosy antique wood burning stove (fuel provided). It is the kind of room that's perfect for tea drinking and long chats. The low light of candles (many provided) is the best choice if you really want a trip back in time. We have two large double rooms upstairs and a single room downstairs. The layout of the cottage is slightly unorthodox but it was constructed almost 400 years ago so that can be forgiven. Out in the garden, there are hammocks and a geodesic dome which provide an excellent spot for a relaxation. Parking is provided of course, there is lots of space and it is very safe.
Myrtleville is a beach town within in a small river valley. Baile an Cuainin is its original Irish name and it means town of the little cove. Myrtleville beach is a popular destination for day visitors from the city. Going east or west along the rocks from the beach can help you to discover secluded swimming holes and tidal pools if you're interested in a little exploration. One thing that is often said about this place is that once here people rarely want to leave. Its just so easy to pass the day relaxing its hard to consider other options. The local foodstore, O Connells is great for stocking almost all the groceries that you may need. It is a 5 minute walk from our door. I always encourage visitors to take to the sea-shore, no matter what time of year it may be. There are plenty of beaches and natural swimming holes and if you want peace seclusion then you will find it there. The Myrtleville Swimmers are a local sea swimming group who swim all year round in the atlantic. There is nothing quite like the Atlantic to wake you up in the morning! If any guests are interested in taking a plunge I can give you all of the information on swim times etc. Foraging for wild food is very easy here with blackberries, mussels, cockles and sea-spinach in abundance at the right time of year. Just ask me where to go and what to look for and take it from there. For night-time entertainment you wont have to go far. There's always great live music happening locally from traditional folk sessions to some hefty blues rock in The Lodge. This little local is half way to the beach and worth a stop if you're thirsty:) A short walk from the cottage (and the Lodge if you fancy a short pub crawl!), just above the cliffs and the crashing Atlantic sits Bunnyconnellan our local restaurant where you can sit and enjoy stunning sea views. The last anchorage of the Titanic can be seen from here. Just a 5 minute drive (or a lovely seaside walk) from Myrtleville is the fishing village of Crosshaven. Home to the oldest yacht club in the world, The Royal Cork Yacht Club, and the spectacular Fort Camden where you can get a tour of the battlements and tunnels that helped to keep the harbour safe during war times. There is couple of charming little cafes where it is very easy to while away some time over a coffee, lunch or breakfast. You might be lucky enough to get here in time for one of our local festivals, like the crazy Red Head Convention, the Traditional Sail weekend or the annual Folk Festival. Kinsale is also close by, 20 minutes drive and such a beautiful town with lots to do there too. Fountainstown beach is just 15 minutes by foot (2 minutes by car) and is perfect for low-tide walks. There are many secluded swimming holes between here and there. Kids and adults alike can partake in the Funkytown Adventure Centre, where it is possible to do kayak rental and guided tours of the coastline, wake-boarding, tubing and lots more. Anyone who gets properly ensconced in the area will be charmed by the people here, its a small town with a good community of super friendly people....especially in the pubs:)
  • Mark was a fantastic host, very accommodating, couldn't of asked for more 11/10

  • This is a very special place with lovely personal touches, and very cosy, even in mid-Winter. Mark left us some honey and other breakfast essentials and even thought of turning on the electric blanket for us! He gave us some local tips and was quickly available for anything we needed. Would highly recommend.

  • We would URGE you to make this home a stop on your list. Go out of your way, it’s worth it! Our stay was above and beyond expectation.

    Amy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a wonderland of farm and coastal life, the perfect place to rest and recharge in winter and I imagine a terrific base to visit the coastline of Cork in the summer. The rooms are decorated with comforting eccentricities and the stove tenderly heats the kitchen and living room, keeping you cosy at all times. Mark is a kind and relaxed host, making sure you have everything you need and always on hand in any eventuality.

Converted Barn, set on a coastal farm. Wonderful sea views and access to a number of beaches and fishing spots.
Converted barn on working farm. Large 20-acre vista on coastal setting with panoramic sea views. Quiet beaches just a stone’s throw away. The property sits in a secluded location with plants and trees teaming the surrounding. You will find hens roaming the gardens. This property suits an escape from the hustle and bustle - take long walks or retreat to the comforts of the barn. Food mecca Midleton is the nearest town, just 10 mins’ drive away, with shops, excellent restaurants and, of course, the world-renowned Old Midleton Distillery, which boasts the world's largest pot and produces world-famous Jameson and Midleton rare whiskey. It’s also just a 15-minute drive to Ballymaloe House, the renowned Irish country house hotel and restaurant owned and run by the Allen family for over 40 years. The Barn also has access to great rock fishing. Inch Beach (where swell surf is located) and Ballybrannigan strands are minutes away.
Set on a farm 21 miles from Cork city, quite real location. There is no nearby shop so stock up en route, lots of farmers markets on locally.
  • Words can not describe how wonderful this place is (but I'll try). Upon walking in, it immediately feels like home! The decor is to die for, such a well used space and it has everything you need for a weekend away disconnected from the world and it's busy' ness. We arrived to receive Kenneth's signature freshly baked brown bread and 6 fresh eggs from the chickens next door who playfully spend their time pecking around the garden on the grounds and coming to say hello whenever you venture outside. The house was spotless and equipped with everything you need to cook, bake, relax, and get into a good book in the middle of nowhere. When you do want to go somewhere it's only 5 minutes away from the beach and has many walkways around the property for you to create your own countryside adventure. If the weather is good you can go to the beach maybe even for a swim, if it's raining outside you can light the fire, cosy up on the comfiest couch I've ever experienced and dip into an impressively large DVD collection. The beds are like clouds and the bathroom floor is even heated so no matter what you're doing you are in constant comfort here. I can't recommend this place enough for any countryside weekend getaway. Kenneth was so helpful and accomodating. We felt very lucky about this find and will most likely go back to stay again in the future!

  • Great stay! Would love to stay in the coastal studio located on the grounds at some stage during the year! Really good place to chill out, loved the country feel to it, had great character 👍🏻

    James2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kenneth is both a wonderful person and an amazing host. The restored Barn was comfortable and cozy. He was attentive to all of our needs and made sure we had nothing to worry about during our stay. If your looking for a quiet hide away in the country Kenneth has you covered.

    Lynda2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous place. Kenneth was very personable and made himself available should we have needed him. His two dogs are also a delight. The converted barn is delicious and cosy- all you need is there, it’s full of lovely furniture and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Very warm (we traveled in winter), comfy beds, and a generous package of eggs, bread, wine and coffee on arrival. A lovely place to stay.

Very central location. Gorgeous big bedroom with patio doors to balcony. Adjoining private bathroom with power shower & antique bath. If you ever feel disappointed with hotel rooms you wont be with this - a unique space with an outdoor element
Guests have the whole first floor.... huge bedroom with balcony and Georgian style bathroom. Centrally located five minutes walk from bus and train station and ten minute walk from the city centre. The house is on Summerhill which is an old residential park of Cork ...
Summerhill is an attractive city neighbourhood, great pub, Henchys just up the road in St. Lukes which is like a little village with artisan grocery, Café, post office, butchers, wine bar and Chinese restaurant........and many restaurants/cafes/pubs just down the road in McCurtain Street and beyond! Urban chic mixed with a leafy old world ambience!!
  • Great place to stay, a easy walk into downtown cork. Large space with a nice bathroom. Doors lock from the inside only. Lovely host and time here!

    Megan 2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline’s place is in the quiet area of Summerhill, which is a quick ten minute walk to city centre, but far enough away to not be noisy and touristy. Upon my agreed-upon early arrival Pauline let me leave my bags even though the room wasn’t ready so I could go about my day bag-free. The room itself was beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom, but they’re both hidden away in their own private alcove on the second floor. The space felt very private and I didn’t see anyone after I first checked in with Pauline. Another huge plus was the lovely hot water in the shower, as some AirBnBs I’ve stayed at in older houses have been hit or miss with the hot water. The bed was so comfy I didn’t want to get up in the morning, and the first night Pauline’s dear little cat came and visited me, which was such a treat!! Two things to note: there is a eye and hook latch on the inside of the alcove, so you can lock that when you’re inside and the bedroom door had a sliding latch from the inside. I had no problems with this arrangement, but if you don’t like the idea of not being able to lock your space up when you leave then you’ll want to consider if this is the right place for you. Also, don’t be stupid like me and go the long-way around from the train station. When you exit the train station you’ll see a massive staircase and a bridge: that is your express route to Pauline’s, which I discovered later. I had a thoroughly enjoyable time and will definitely stay with Pauline again the next time I’m in Cork.

  • Cool space and a great location!

    Kevin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great, stylish place with a great location in Cork. Very large bedroom with a bathroom next door, all on a floor to your own. We would highly recommend this place to others!

    Kevin2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline is a fantastic host and the photos don’t do this cute studio flat justice. The space is huge and stylishly decorate. The bath is amazing - you can soak after a busy day exploring!! The room and bathroom and tidy and clean with all the best touches (lovely products and tea to sip while watching the fire). The city is just down the hill ready for you to explore and enjoy. I cannot recommend this place highly enough - superb. I will stay here again when I visit cork.

    Shani2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful Victorian bedroom, high ceilings and a pretty balcony to sit out on in fine weather, fabulous bathroom too!

    Jim2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location near train station and great value for a lovely clean bedroom.

    Derek2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline's place was lovely and beautiful. A very quick walk from Kent station. The rich old character of the house was the perfect fit for our stay in Cork. The house is an old Georgian, the room has a working fireplace, a little outdoor patio space and large windows facing the street. Comfy bed, nice pillows, great sheets. Very very quiet room, less some cars going by. The bathroom is large and the clawfoot tub is beautiful, wish I had time to use it! She let us drop our bags when we arrived to town, even though the room wasn't ready yet (we were early) that was very thoughtful. Thank you Pauline, it was a wonderful stay.

  • Great location and John was very helpful and informative, giving us tips on places to eat. The apartment was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our short break. The pictures on the profile do not show how big the apartment actually is. It easily accomadated 5 adults. Location is great and we were able to see plenty in the surrounding areas as we had a hire car. The pubs are friendly and within walking distance with a shop underneath the apartment for provisions. Great view from the window out onto the harbour. Can not recommend this place enough with towels, hairdryer and iron provided. John even provided us eith a pint glass for a Guinness ;-) Great value for money.

The ambience of this home warm and cosy, with the central focus on the beautiful double sided stove in an open plan living space. Two bedrooms library and bathroom are located at the rear of the house. This house has been recently refurbished. From the patio at the rear garden, a glorious panoramic view of the famous Cork harbour, looking directly out towards Roches Point (from which the Titanic had its final departure).

The bar and restaurant have amazing views of Cobh Cathedral and Cork Harbour. The hotel is just up around the corner from the town of Cobh and only over the road from the 'Top of the Hill' area. Its right in the middle of all areas but quite enough for a getaway.
  • Beautiful location. A spacious apartment, overlooking Cobh Harbour. Lovely service, nice breakfast in the restaurant in the morning.

  • This was an absolute lovely place. Sitting in the living room looking out at the Church was amazing and didn’t want to leave. The local recommendation were wonderful and everywhere we wanted to go was within walking distance. The location was ideal! We have all ready tried to plan our next stay and have shared with friends about the Bellavista because they are planning a trip.

    Elizabeth2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, wonderful views!

    Conor2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bigger and a much better view than we'd even anticipated. Great location in a gorgeous town. Big suite based in a hotel. Check in was easy. The unit is up a couple flights with no elevators, so be prepared, but the hotel clerk said they are happy to help carry luggage if needed. Free parking right at the front steps. Couldn't have asked for much better and definitely would stay again.

    Jason2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Come for the views, stay for the hospitality! The views from the Suite really are first rate. It's great to wake up and see the sun rising across the Cork Harbor. You can watch the weather, and the ships, move across the waters all day. It's a great location to base your explorations of Cork and the Southeast of Ireland. It's also remarkably quiet. The Suite says "self-catering" but you also have access to the hotel staff if you need help. There's a restaurant and bar so you don't have to walk far if it's raining. The staff are all very helpful and go out of their way to help with all of the little things that you inevitably need. Like laundry, who wants to be doing laundry on vacation? Yeah, me neither. I definitely will be back, it's been a lovely and relaxing visit.

    Bill2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great views over the town and harbour.

    Carol2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place had an unexpected treat up its sleeve, the view was more than I expected and spectacular. It was a great place, and great staff. Unfortunately there was some construction going on at the time, but it did end at an early enough hour. I would definitely go back here again and recommend everyone stay here.

  • Adrian's place is absolutely beautiful. Perfect location in an amazingly cute little town by the sea. Adrian was very kind and responsive whenever we spoke. He was full of great tips and advice for enjoying the town but also happy to let us explore on our own. Will definitely be back

    Eric2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Adrian’s apartment was beautiful and perfectly situated for our trip to Cobh. It has everything we needed and a view of the sea! Adrian was really helpful, even when we struggled with check-in.

    Ivan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely handy location for everything in Cobh, really clean, nicely decorated and VERY comfortable bed. We were only there for a night, but would happily spend longer!

    Christine2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Adrian’s place was fab for myself, boyfriend, and 7 month old baby. The apartment was so comfortable and relaxing that we ended up staying inside instead of our original plans to explore more of Cobh. Kitchen has all the modern conveniences and is a cooks dream. Bedroom is cozy and perfect for a good nights sleep. Electric radiators made it easy to set the temperature in the rooms to our preferred settings. Note that there are stairs inside the apartment so if you have a more mobile little one then you’ll want to bring a travel safety gate or just keep the doors to the sitting room and bedroom closed which is easy enough to do.

    Cori2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Adrians place is in a great location, kitchen had everything we needed, and the place was sparkling clean. Bed was super comfy! We enjoyed our stay!

Cobh is a beautiful, quaint coastal town in Southern Ireland. Most famous for being the last port of call for the infamous Titanic, Cobh is steeped in history. Down the street from the property, you'll find historic St. Coleman's Cathedral overlooking the Cork harbour. During the summer months, Cobh is frequented by cruise liners and is a bustling community. It has a great range of shops, restaurants and museums. Of particular note is the Cobh Heritage Museum which explores the Titanic and Cobh being the embarkation port for Ireland's mass migration around the world. In the center of town you'll find the tourist center where you can organize tours of the town, and to the many tourist attractions nearby such as Blarney Castle, Fota Island Wildlife Park and the Ring of Kerry. There's a train in to the main city of Cork, for those that don't want to drive, where you can visit the famous University and shop till you drop with world class shopping among many other things.
  • This was a great place to stay to enjoy a trip to Cobh. The location is excellent and the property itself is exactly as described. The house was spotless and very cosy, it has all you need and a little bit more. Communication was great and any issues, which were minimal, were dealt with quickly and without fuss or bother. Erin is a great host and as this is the first time I've used Airbnb herself and Liam have set the bar very high. Am already looking at returning at a warmer time of year and would highly recommend Cobh Terrace without a second thought.

  • Location, Location, Location! Truly in the heart of the town just around the corner from the waterfront. You don’t have to walk up the hill, which is also a benefit. First floor unit so no lugging baggage up stairs. Extremely clean studio with all the amenities. Patricia also included hair care and body products, laundry cleaning supplies, and coffee and tea which is a nice touch. Patricia was a great host and communicated upfront, gave tips for the area, and was extremely responsive. The hot water and water pressure in the shower was perfect. We had new thick towels. The bed was nice and firm with good sheets. There is a large window by the sofa to give you natural light. Close to good restaurants and market is less than a block away. Would highly recommend staying here! Will stay again when in Cobh.

Charming, with beautiful grounds and garden, comfy beds, and a great kitchen and dining table for our breakfasts together in the morning. If we stop through Cobh again we would definitely choose Mary’s for our base. Thanks again for having us!

Covid 19 - The Lux Bus is due to reopen on 8th June. Since our closure in early March we have been inundated with enquiries from essential workers who need accommodation in the Cork area or people who have appointments close by etc. Upto now we have not accepted any bookings. For most, you are advised to stay at home till July 20th. Gov.ie has a full list of phased guild lines which we must all follow. From all of us here at The Lux Bus we wish you all happiness and good health x
Nestled in the beautiful town of Cobh with countryside views is the unique and luxury double decker bus. Within close proximity to the heritage town and minutes walk to public transport this is a hidden gem which one must experience. is the perfect base location when visiting the Munster area and its extensive attractions. The bus is a stand alone accommodation so you will have sole use of the bus and its private outdoor space during your time with us. It is always cleaned and disinfected to a high standard including light switches, door handles, switches etc. This vintage London bus has been converted to an extremely high standard with attention to detail and all mod cons one would expect from a holiday stay. Our bus has everything you need for your stay but please feel free to ask if you have any special requests we may be able to help you with. As you can expect from a bus, there is a stairs on board and the ceilings upstairs are 5ft 9inch which lower than normal. To keep the bus as original as possible we did not change the height of the ceiling upstairs so this is something everyone should take note of. The shower is based upstairs so will be lower than normal. Each room has a TV and storage and there is Wifi through out, but if you want some screen free time there is also a range of books and board games. We have a cosy stove on board as well as electric panel heating, but should the weather be nicer, there is a lovely outdoor area complete with table and chairs for your private use. The Snug area comes complete with a solid fuel stove and BBQ.
The Lux Bus is situated a 4minute drive from Cobh town. With beautiful peaceful countryside views it is upto you whether you relax in style or explore the many attractions of the area. There is a lovely private outdoor area with table and chairs for your own personal use. There is a shop, pub and laundry facilities within a 7minute walk along a country road. This is also where the Cobh Connect bus stop is situated which takes you to Cork City in 20mins. Just to note this road does not have a footpath so caution should always be taken and we provide high viability jackets for your use.
  • The bus was an awesome stay! From the basics (bread, milk etc) and our little care packs, you can tell that Laura takes great pride in making sure her guests are comfortable. We really appreciated these thoughtful gestures & would highly recommend the bus for a stay!

    Natalie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Lux Bus is so spacious with everything you need- hairdryer, kettle, tea, coffee, towels, bed linen, etc. There are lots of board games for a night in too. Staying in the Lux Bus is an experience in itself. Really cool place to stay! Super close to Cobh where there’s loads to do and see. It helps if you bring a car but there are taxis available.

    Sophie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great little stay for near cork. Though if your taller than 5’4” you’ll be too tall and will have to duck when you go upstairs. But for shorter people it’s perfect and so fun to stay inside a bus that’s been redone inside.

    Debbie2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s place was incredible and comfortable! Highly recommend!

    Alyssa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z

    Olivia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The bus is beautiful, extremely clean, and in good taste. We had milk, cereals, coffee, teas .. Very welcoming, and we are only sorry to have had such a short stay.

    Sandra2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Lux Bus! We were a group of 5 travelers, and it accommodates our party easily. The bus was well appointed and very clean. The weather was quite chilly and blustery, but we all stayed nice and warm. Communicating with Laura was quick and easy; she was a great host, and even took time to drive us into Cobh in the evening so that we could experience trad night at one of the local pubs. Overall, great experience-if we find ourselves in Cobh again, we’d happily book the bus.

Cobh (pronounced 'cove') is a charming waterfront town on a glittering estuary, dotted with brightly coloured houses and overlooked by a splendid cathedral. It's popular with cruise liners – each year around 100 visit the port, the second-largest natural harbour in the world (after Sydney Harbour in Australia) if that isn’t reason enough to visit Cobh I don’t know what is ;). We are situated 4 minutes walk from the beautiful town center and 8 minute walk from the train station. We are in an excellent location for visitors to Cobh who would like to explore the beautiful town. We also have a bus stop 4 doors down which brings you into the vibrant city of Cork! It's a far cry from the harrowing Famine years when more than 70,000 people left Ireland through the port in order to escape the ravages of starvation. Cobh was also the final port of call for the Titanic; a poignant museum commemorates the fatal voyage's point of departure, which is a brilliant day out for all the family! Or maybe take a beautiful boat trip out to Spike island where you can explore a prison which once was the worlds largest!! There are more then plenty of restaurants to choose from in Cobh, the best would have to be The Titanic Bar and Restaurant, and the Quays restaurant both located on the waters edge :)

She cooked us fresh bread and scones for our arrival, took us to the local supermarket to pick up extra bits we wanted and gave us all the local tips. She even set up the open fire, so we were warm and comfortable to return back to the house after a walk. A gorgeous heritage house stay, that we all really enjoyed. Thank you so much!

  • We stayed in Cobh on a chilly November period. The fire in the large sitting room kept us nice and cosy. There are bars and restaurants a short walk, and a children's playground across the road. Catherine gave us some very helpful tips on what to do.

    Shane2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for a group of us spending the weekend in Cork, loved everything about it couldn’t have asked for better. Thanks so much Catherine.

  • Rosenberg is stunning. The photos do not do the grand, three story home justice. From the welcome scones to the incredibly comfortable beds, the stunning views and the close location to town, we couldn’t have asked for better! Catherine gave us a kind and warm welcome and some great tips about live music we could see the afternoon we arrived. We can’t wait to return.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Catherine's home in Cobh. The home is in a beautiful location overlooking the harbor with a short walk to the pubs and shops down town. There is also a new playground across the street which is great for kids. The home is much larger than we expected, full of character and rich history. It was also a pleasure meeting Catherine who is a wonderful host and is eager to make your visit memorable.

    Peter2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing—great location, beautiful home with so much room and everything you could possibly want. The beds were very comfortable. Catherine was a delight to deal with—so helpful and responsive. She thought of everything, providing great local recommendations and even baking us bread and scones. Highly recommend!

    Sharon2019-09-17T00:00:00Z

From Cobh, you can also have day-trips to Ballycotton (walking along the cliffs, visiting the Stephen Pearce Pottery (and having a nice piece of cake from their cafe), visiting the Jameson factory in Midleton, kissing the Blarney stone in Blarney Castle, and you can also in a day drive to Killarney and come back to the house! • We really enjoyed Carole's home! It is in the cutest spot in town and it has been lovingly remodeled to keep all of the great historic details but with tons of modern touches. We used the kitchen a lot and loved all the space. Our family of five had tons of space to spread out. It's walking distance to many shops and restaurants and only a few minutes away from a grocery store. Can't wait to come back soon!

  • Stayed at Carole’s place for a long weekend and really enjoyed staying at her place. Very nice kitchen with plenty of room for a large group to gather comfortably. Good location and Carole was great at getting back to offer help and tips during our stay. Would recommend.

  • Don’t miss a chance to stay here. We chose Cobh over Kinsale and adored this place. This house is part of the “deck of cards” shown in pictures, and a lovely park is right across the street. Go to the street above the park and hold your camera over the wall for more great pictures—great angle up there. Kitchen is lovely! New heating system was key on a colder Feb day. Plenty of room. View of the cathedral from the windows is incredible—plus you can hear the bells. Everything is in walking distance. Have a pint at the Roaring Donkey in the evening. Pastry and coffee at Cuppacity in the morning. Don’t miss the Heritage museum. Train into Cork City was an easy 25’min ride complete with a rainbow!

Located on the N25 (main route between Cork and Rosslare) just outside the busy market town of Midleton, we are a detached bungaloe with ample parking. The house is surrounded by green and lush farmland and close to a number of state managed forests which are excellent for walking and getting close to nature. The Studio faces south and is bright, warm and cosy.
We aim for 5* standards and offer guests standards of comfort and hygiene that they would expect in an hotel.
We are ideally located close to all amenities but at the same time in the country. Guests enjoy the benefit of both. There is no shortage of free or paid activities on our doorstep including forest walks, beaches, heritage sites, activities for adults and children, and many more.

  • I'm really glad to have chosen Elenas accommodation. She and her family immediately made me feel welcome and they helped me a lot adapting to the country by giving me many usefull tips. • Elena, Jose and family are a lovely family to visit. Their gentle dog and cat are also easy to be with. They were welcoming, gave me a key to the house so I could come and go, assisted me with directions when needed and were very helpful and welcoming. They made it easy to be part of the family if I wanted, or to be in my room as needed or leave. They also encouraged me to use the kitchen as desired and went to the extra work preparing the room by extra rinsing of linens to take away the smell of any scented product! I highly recommend planning your stay with these people. Cherry

Corkonians are a super friendly/laid back city full of giggles, sport live music, hands down scrumdilicous food & plenty of history, we may be a tad stubborn, we like to talk a lot & are insanely proud of our Irishness! We even have our own PROC (peoples republic of Cork)
I love where we live, we are 15 minutes from the city and 15 minutes from the countryside perfectly balanced. Its on several bus routes than take you right through the city. Douglas village is ten minute walk and has plenty of shopping centres, plus some pub and grub options there's always live music in the village. But if something more lively you crave then the city is 20min bus ride on 216 or 220. Probably best to get taxi from the airport! We are immensely proud of our city so depending on work commitments we would be delighted to show you round. Breakfast is included, as is towels and toiletries. And if you require dinner no problem just let us know & we'll sort you out.
We live in a housing estate so the neighbourhood is full of kids playing on the street all the time. We are about 15mins from the beach and 15/20mins from town.
  • Sonja and her family are amazing! They are super helpful and will make your experiences in Cork even better. The room is lovely, the house has everything that you need. • We had a great stay with John in his quirky home/gallery. John is a lovely man, he’s a talented artist as well as being kind and interesting. He made my husband and I feel welcome and we really enjoyed his company. We slept like logs and enjoyed a fantastic cooked breakfast made by John in the morning. Well worth investing in if you want a good start to your day. We can totally recommend this Airbnb.

  • So what more can we say than thank you John ! What an experience, one of our best in an airbnb. John was fully available, helped, and even took us to the best gig in town after we arrived. The house is very well located in the city center, super clean, super comfy, super relaxed for a nice weekend. John will be available to give you any good tips on the area, music, walks, pubs, restaurants or just having a great chat with him. Its more than just a house, it's John's home as an artist, so well decorated that it couldn't suit us better. We recommend for any person/couple willing to have a relaxed weekend in a local environment. Thx John !

  • Eileen and John are on point in every part of a trip to Cork/Ireland, the place was perfectly clean and in a neighborhood really sweet, with some awesome live traditionnal Irish music. A nice breakfast in a front of the garden, I already miss this place !

  • Eileen and John made us feel welcome and were very friendly. Bed comfy and shower great. Breakfast was tasty with lovely home made brown bread. Excellent location for visiting Cork city, Kinsale and Crosshaven. Quiet location so no problem having a good night’s sleep! We would have no hesitation in recommending John and Eileen’s house to other visitors.

  • Ad compliant. Very welcoming hosts, who adapt to your arrival / departure times. It is a real pleasure to arrive in an authentic Airbnb with hosts who chat with you, get to know you, and help you and give advice. The location is accessible by public transport (around 40 minutes from central Cork anyway) and very easy to find, right next to the bus stop. Breakfast is very good with the pleasure of tasting local and homemade products. We recommend this accommodation and will not hesitate to return there too!

This newly renovated one bedroom, self-catering cottage located in Cobh is the perfect location to relax while also having easy access to the historic town of Cobh and it's surrounding areas. This cottage has plenty of history behind it, with it being an old dairy many years ago.
  • Greta place, thank you for accommodating our employee.

    Daniel2020-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is adorable!! The thoughtful touches were endearing, and we very much enjoyed staying here.

    Juliana2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you're going to pass through Cobh, stay here! It's maybe a 5 minute drive to the town square where you'll find restaurants, pubs, and anything else your heart desires. The space is clean with everything you need during your stay. There was even fresh milk and breakfast items available!!

    Pat2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is so charming and cozy! I loved how secluded we felt, but still easily able to access the town. Wynn was very responsive and easy to get in touch with if needed. One of my favorite stays thus far!

    Madeleine2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This space was absolutely incredible. Clean, cozy, stocked with all the essentials, and some really nice personal touches. The homemade muffins and milk were perfect! This was probably the best Airbnb I’ve stayed at.

  • Loved this spot. We had just come from a rougher stay the night before and this was great. It was nicer than I had been expecting and the cupcakes Wynn had made for us were great! Would definitely recommend.

Our home is situated in a very quite area with private parking. Just 4 miles from Midleton and 25 minutes from Cork city. 25 minutes to the picturesque town of Cobh, where one may view the Cathedral, the Titanic Experience and Spike Island. We are also just 10 minutes from Jameson Distillery. We are just located 5 minute drive from beautiful woodland walks and great walking paths along the waters edge in Rostellan. There is a great choice of restaurants in our local area. Plenty to explore.
Our room is located on the ground floor and it has its own access door which guest love the freedom of being able to come and go of their own accord. You can pull your car up right outside the door which is ideal for bringing in luggage.
We are very lucky to live where we do. The beautiful Ballycotton Cliff walks and island tours are 15minute drive from us. Midleton the home of Jameson Whiskey and great restaurants is only 4 miles from us. We can recommend good local gastropubs. Plenty of local beaches and woodlands within minutes drive. Cork city and Cobh not too far away either. The famous Ballymaloe House only 7 minute drive from our home. We are spoiled for choice.
  • We still have very positive memories of our stay with Catharina and her family. We almost felt at home. We have been visiting Ireland every year for over 10 years and have never had such wonderful accommodation. As already mentioned several times in the reviews, we can only report positive things. Everything was just beautiful and relaxing. Those who are lucky enough to stay with this loving family will not miss a hotel. Nothing was missing.

  • All around fantastic! My sister and I had a wonderful stay at Cathrina’s. Our favorite part was the “welcome tea” and the breakfast set up. She gave us awesome recommendations and provided incredible education on many of our planned stops along our road trip.

  • I would like to award 10 stars for this wonderful accommodation. Everything was just perfect. Cathrina and her wonderful family are as positive and warmhearted as I have not experienced in a long time. Bedroom and bathroom were sparkling clean and spacious, and so lovingly decorated by the design that we immediately felt at home. The Wi-Fi is super fast and tea with chocolate snacks were in a huge, very classy and tastefully decorated living room ready for us. We were not only allowed to share the living room, but it was even available for our sole use, so that we could spend a wonderful evening in it. Also we had to our room a separate entrance, in front of which we could park our car. The next morning we got a fantastic vegetarian breakfast with a delicious apple muesli and were then provided with plenty of helpful tips for our further route through Ireland. Anyone who stops in the Cork area can only warmly recommend this great hostess. Everything is definitely right here!
