  • Great stay, super friendly hosts. Highly recommend.

  • This is a classy, open, air and light filled home on the ocean. The Dublin-Belfast train is across the road, with the station just down the road. The M1 is about 4 minutes away and it is an easy drive to the airport even on a busy Monday morning. Nonetheless the room is quiet and private and looks out to the sea; you can watch the sunrise from your room. John is a retired landscaper who has created an simply amazing botanical garden stretching about 100m down to the private gate to the beach, and makes a super breakfast including jam made from their own fruit.

    Kevin2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • John and Alisha were amazing hosts. John gave us an early check in which was super helpful to us. Their dog was the cutest and loved to play. The space was breathtaking as our room overlooked their gardens and the ocean. The bed was very comfortable and it was a plus to have our own bathroom. I would highly recommend staying here with John and Alisha!

    Philipp2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely the best place we stayed in while visiting Ireland! Mégane was super friendly, helpful with ideas of where to go around Dublin. We loved the place because it was both near the beach and also close to the city. The train station was walking distance as well. Next to this amazing spot called the Brick Room which Mégane recommended! I would recommend her place without a doubt! Thank you!!

  • Staying with Bernie was an amazing experience. She is so sweet and makes you feel like a part of the family from the first moment. The conversations were great over coffee and/or drink. She advised my daughter, Hayden and I, the best routes to take to where we were going for the day. I could not ask for a better experience. This was my daughter's first transatlantic experience and she made her comfortable and at ease the whole time. I will recommend Bernie to anyone that I know coming into Dublin, Balbriggan.

Our home is just a few minutes walk from the seaside where our guests can take in the views over the Irish sea to the Mourne mountains and the lovely harbour promenade. We have off street parking for two cars Transport can be arranged for Airport pick up and drop off.
The village of Skerries has many interesting restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. A tour of Skerries Mills with it's two working windmills and watermill is a must. Have lunch in the restaurant and then browse the souvenir shop. Skerries harbour is a unique and lively experience. Relax and enjoy the views with a coffee in Goat in the Boat or a meal in one of the many bar restaurants along the promenade. Just make sure you drop into Stoop Your Head to sample their fabulous Crab Claws and Seafood Chowder. The village has lots of winding streets to explore with shops to drop in to. A stroll along the sandy beach is a must and look out to sea to Rockabill lighthouse and the islands of St Patrick, Shenick, and Colt. • Cracking spot in the beautiful Skerries. Highly recommend

    Caitriona2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was very beautiful, modern and clean and luxury. We received full package of cosmetics stuff (not only shower gel and shampoo, but also body lotion, ear sticks, nail file) also water bottles and small chocholate in the room. Our bedroom was the smallest room in the house, but still beautiful. We could use the rest of the house, which was really spacey, especially the kitchen with dining area was roomy, modern and well equiped. The landlord was very nice great guy. We had a great time there.

  • Robert was very lovely and welcoming. The house where he lives with his wife is very beautiful and the room and bathroom super clean and comfortable. The house is located in a residential area sorrounded by green spaces. It takes about 10 min walking to get to the city center. Robert also gave us many helpful tips. In the center you can find a place called Ollie for having a nice dinner, not too much expensive, and just next to Ollie a pub called The Snug where we spent a lovely night with the local people, having great times and listening to rock music vinyls. In the morning Robert also took us to the mills to have a tour and a delicious breakfast. Really recommended !! He puts a lot of effort in making your stay amazing. Thank you!

  • I never got the hang of the WIFI password, but it was fine for other guests, so probably my fault (I'm over 30, so I can survive a night without WIFI, anyway!). Comfortable, clean sleeping area and good shared bathroom facilities. Nice package of milk, tea/coffee, and other essentials took the hassle out of arriving. I'd certainly use the venue again, if the opportunity arose.

  • If you want to stay outside Dublin and close to the airport it is a very good choice. The room was perfect for my two nights and Toni gave me a warm welcome.

    Elfi2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time at Toni’s. With kettle, a little fridge and microwave-oven in the bedroom, I had a lot of privacy. The place was clean and the room is lovely. You also get a room key, bath amenities and everything you need. She’s a great host and very communicative. The neighborhood is safe, a lot of families and children playing at the street. It is a bit far from Dublin, but with a car it shouldn’t be a problem. With bus/train you’ll need about an hour, but it was fine for me since I got the Leap Visitor Card that allowed me to travel 3 days with the train for only 20 euros (I could also get as many buses and trams in Dublin as I wanted). It is also very easy to get there from the airport and is near to a beautiful beach.

    Giselle2019-04-23T00:00:00Z

A stroll along the sandy beach is a must and look out to sea and spot Rockabill lighthouse and the islands of St Patrick, Shenick, and Colt. There are many interesting towns and villages nearby and the 9th/11th Century Round Tower at Lusk is a must see.

  • Our stay at Robert’s place was one of my best Airbnb experiences so far. The room is incredibly stylish and clean and is in a great location, close to the city centre and to the sea. Robbie was extremely nice and went out of his way to make our stay the best possible. I would definitely recommend his place and hope to visit it again in the future!

Newly refurbished private one bedroom apartment in a family home, located in the most desirable location in this beautiful seaside town. Excellent public transport links, 10 minutes walk to the train station, and only 20 minutes to Dublin airport. 30 seconds walk to the towns best restaurants. This apartment is located on the only west-facing harbour on the east coast of Ireland, with both access to the harbour from the front and to the beach to the rear.
This lower ground floor apartment has the added bonus of having its own private entrance and outside area, an E.J Riley pool table, a vintage decorative record player and kitchen.
Life’s a beach in this stunning seaside town, with boat tours, rich heritage, award winning food and great pubs it is no wonder the town is a hit with tourists.
  • Great place. Amazing location. Perfect hosts who are close by to assist Warm and cozy. Great amenities for winter days Will return

  • I stayed 2 weeks in this apartment to write. The place is very quiet, close to the trendy pubs and cafes around the corner. The apartment is located 1 minute from the port and 1 minute from the beach. The apartment is nickel, Katrina very responsive and pleasant. Only weak point, the apartment is in the mezzanine, so in the semi-basement. In other words, no view.

Our cosy little mews is set in a secluded, private courtyard to the rear of our premises in the heart of the bustling seaside town of Skerries. A one minute walk will bring you to the beautiful North Beach in Skerries. Stroll from here for 5 minutes along the Harbour Road to some wonderful bars and restaurants. A side entrance gives you the privacy to enjoy the town centre location while also being able to retreat to your quiet mews whenever you please.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available and we will provide freshly baked scones on arrival. You have a selection of some of the finest coffee shops and eateries at your doorstep should you wish to explore. For lovers of Watersports (and competent swimmers) we have a Stand Up Paddleboard that can be borrowed on request.
The Retreat is an easy walk from the train station in Skerries (10 min stroll) and bus stop (2 mins).
  • This is a lovely retreat in a perfect location close to shops, bars and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable and the scones a lovely touch just what we needed after a day of travelling. Skerries is a lovely little place you will not be disappointed.

    Diane2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice location outside but still easy to get to by public transport, the bus to Dublin leaves every half an hour and it also goes via the airport. A rental car is therefore not necessary, and it is also cheap to go to Dublin for two people for just five euros, and you can drink the delicious things in the legendary Irish pubs without having to think about the return trip. The little house is wonderful, but very cold in winter, because the built-in heating does not help because it is not so well insulated. So dress warm, and the warm feather duvet is very nice, and staying in bed is also very nice schön Nevertheless, it is probably much more pleasant in summer, at least for frozen Germans. The Irish are used to wind and weather, just like the English. Definitely recommendable!

    Barbara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely retreat, perfect for a weekend stay. Couldn’t be any closer to the restaurants and pubs, exceptionally clean and very comfy bed! Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Original stone cottage, minutes walk to nightlife, restaurants, bars, public transport & beach. 30 mins from airport, 15 mins from train station, 5 mins from bus (33) to city centre (via airport). Location is suitable for travellers interested in short walks, SUPing, Kayaking and other water sports or for those looking for a quiet break. Foodie paradise. Airport transfers available on request (€27 each way). Sorry no private parking (only on street meter 8am-6pm mon-sat).
We love to have guests and welcome you to our home. The double room available in our home is small but cosy. We can add a single mattress if requested. Access to the room is up a narrow, steep staircase. So please mind your head! We have a very friendly black and white cat who will visit you during your stay if you leave your window or door open! We have a ton of books that you are welcome to read during your stay. We are walking distance to all the lovely bars and restaurants that Skerries has to offer. The beach is only 5 minutes walk away. On street parking is paid by meter but you can find some (marked) free spots on the South Beach which is only about 7 minutes walk away. The house is hundreds of years old and very creaky, please try to be quiet especially if coming in late. It can get loud at weekends from the pubs close by.
Skerries is a picturesque fishing village on the north coast of Dublin County. We have a local surf company that rents SUP boards and kayaks. There are (seasonal) boat trips available to Rockabill/Lambay Islands. We have a little Tourist office on Thomas Hand St. that can help you organise tours of the area. There are plenty of nice short, flat walks. The Mill offers a short tour and also has a gift shop and cafe. Ardgillan castle is only 10 minutes drive or 20 mins walk (via Ladies Stairs) walk away. Skerries has many great award winning restaurants. Some of our favourites are Stoop Your Head, 5 Rock, Seasons, Olive and The 54. There are traditional music sessions in Joe Mays on a Sunday night and in the Snug on Thursday nights, Folk music in Nealons on Wednesdays and various bands in Raffs on Saturday nights.
  • Beautiful house, very cosy, warm, close to supermarket, pubs, restaurants and the beach. Karen and Antonio are very friendly and they help you with everything. I really recommend this place!

Mine is a three-bedroomed house, of which one Double Bedroom and one Single Bedroom are available. (See my separate listing for the 'Single Room'). The village is Balrothery, but it is close to Balbriggan. Dublin Airport is 20k via M1 from here. Dublin Bus #101 from Dublin Airport to ‘Balrothery Bridge’ bus stop will take you here in about 20-25 mins. The bus stop is 3 mins walk from my house. Balbriggan has a beautiful sandy beach and harbour.
Bright and airy rooms, immaculate throughout. Guests have their own bright bathroom (with a Power Shower) to themselves. I have my own en-suite. Towels, breakfast cereal, tea, coffee and milk will be provided.
My house suits couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and holidaymakers alike. Millfield is our nearest Shopping Centre and the Pavillions Shopping Centre in Swords is also not too far away. There are some nice pubs, restaurants, takeaways and there is also an Omniplex Cinema in Balbriggan. Ardgillan Castle is our nearest Park which is very peaceful and nice to go for a walk and has beautiful views of the Mourne Mountains. As well as the castle, the demesne features a walled and rose garden and has a café and childrens’ playground.
  • Off the main Street so it's a quiet neighbourhood. The buses are pretty reliable. We got to spend Halloween at hers and let us borrow some Halloween supplies

  • Lovely quite area. Home is very clean and Pamela was a great host.

    Edith2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a pleasant stay at Pam's house in Balrothery. Its conveniently located if you have a car, being only a five minute walk from the closest pub and shop (Spar), and a short drive to Skerries (15 mins) and Malahide (25 mins). The availability of a parking space outside the house was very convenient too. Pam was a lovely host - she offered us lots of leaflets for local attractions and took an interest in us, while also leaving us to do our own thing. She was very accommodating, giving us wine glasses and tea lights to take to our room too. The room is small but cosy and has plenty of storage space. It's nice that guests can also use the main kitchen. We would recommend!

    Peter2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Pam is a really nice host, you will help you as much as she can. The house is really clean and really luminous. She is easy-going, her talk is really good, and she gives us information about nearby and Dublin tourism.

She was kind and helping since de very first moment, willing to answer any question quickly and to make recommendations about transportation, restaurants or places to visit in Dublin and nearby. I would repeat.

It is located upstairs in the house with ensuite bathroom. Guests may use the kitchen and self service laundry room is available to use. Towels are provided
Room is a large bedroom in a three bedroom semi detached house in a large housing estate on the outskirts of Skerries Town. The room is ensuite with a small shower room with sink and toilet attached.
Everything is within walking distance. Skerries Harbour is a 15 minute walk where you will find popular restaurants and bars. The train station is an 18 minute walk from the house. The bus stop is at the entrance to the estate. We recommend taking the train as the quickest and most convenient way into Dublin City centre or to Howth/Malahide. For trips to Swords the bus is a better option. There is a small supermarket just a 5 minute walk from the house where you can buy essentials.

  • Rebecca is a great host. The room is very cozy and the bed very comfortable. And what a luxury, I had a bathroom for my own. I had the possibility the make a little breakfast in her kitchren. The communication was uncomplicated and very kind and friendly. The train station and restaurants are in walking distance. Rebecca's home is a very good place for a relaxing stay. I highly recommend her as host.

She also provided a cot, booster chair & change mat for our baby. Location is perfect - walking distance to the beach, shops, pubs, resturants etc - we didn't need to drive at all! It is the perfect home away from home. If you need a place in Skerries, book this place! Thanks Nicola and family for your hospitality.

  • Incredibly warm and accommodating hosts, the fridge was filled with fresh orange juice, butter, cheese, jam, milk and your own fresh eggs. In addition, Debbie baked extra fresh scones for us! Unfortunately, the heating was broken, but Debbie put a gas stove in our door. That worked.

    Andrea2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great little hideaway with good space for everyone using the beds and a good kitchen which always helps

    Sam2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • They were lovely! They had many tips for traveling to Dublin and other nearby areas. The home was clean, they were very prepared for our visit. Such warm hosts - would stay here again!

    Katie2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • staying at Tom and Debbie’s was nice : everything was clean, they were really nice to us, really helpful and their dog is lovely. The room is big and comfortable, it’s a quiet place. Thank you very much for all !

    Louise2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice stay at Tom and Debbie's house. We needed a clean and quiet place and that's what we had. We appreciated the eggs and the bread. Debbie and Tom are kind and let us stay a little bit longer as our plane was late so we didn't have to wait too long at the airport. One thing to be careful about: the itinary on Airbnb/maps isn't correct, the house is a little bit farther on the street indicated. :-) Nice place to stay if you need some rest!

    Soizic2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie and Tom have a fantastic set up for visitors. The room is flexible for whatever combination of beds you need. And the “annexe” is particularly well designed: easy for guests to come and go, have privacy whilst feeling part of the main house. And the kitchenette and bathroom are both perfect for visitors. The garden is an absolute delight. The hens are great and the fresh eggs for breakfast even more so! And the sheer space and design make it a great oasis for adults and a brilliant adventure space for families with kids. (I was just sad that we’re over the age of 12 so couldn’t play on the zip line!!) Debbie and Tom made so many lovely touches to our trip that it’s hard to list them all and we unfailingly helpful and kind. Great place to stay, I hope to stay there again!

    Rachael2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic hosts, in a house with live and love welcome you there. My 3 girls were allowed to help Tom with the chicken and they loved it... More than the perfect garden with a lot of possibilities to play and relax or Debbies wonderful pie (with the apples from there garden) and bread (which I loved most :-) ). We absolutely recomand this place!

A beautiful stone cottage located in the countryside near the picturesque seaside town of Skerries, County Dublin. The cottage is located on the doorstep of Ardgillan Castle which boasts beautiful views of the sea, its magnificent gardens and a children's playground. The cottage is located 21 mins from Dublin Airport, 40 minutes from Dublin City Centre and 90 mins from Belfast by car.
  • This was a fantastic spot for myself and my colleagues to complete a 3 week training course at Dublin airport. Gerry and family were some welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. The cottage is spacious and homely with easy access into Skerries and the local train station to get into Dublin.

    Theo2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great choice for us and especially our golden retriever Archie. The cottage is located only a few hundred feet from Ardgillan Castle park, which provided several miles worth of rambling through woods and meadows for local runners and dogs alike. As for the cottage itself, it's terrific. Spotless, well set up in every room, a cozy living room, comfortable spacious master bedroom, fantastic kitchen set up with pots, pans, food processor, etc. Skerries is a hop skip and jump away, with a harbor full of lively restaurants and pubs. Best of all were Gerry, Val, Conall and Emma next door, who became a second family to us in the months we were here. Unforgettable experience, we will miss you all!

    Malcolm2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best rental of the 6 we rented in Ireland! Highly recommend!

    Stan2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This home was lovely and comfortable. We all had our own sleeping space and showers. The kitchen is large and country style. Gerry had left us a lovely basket full of breakfast treats, which started off our trip quite nicely. It is located in a small town next to a farm and of course, a castle. All in all, we were quite pleased with our accommodations there

    Joan2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, clean and well-appointed cottage with Gerry and Valerie as wonderful, helpful hosts. We would not hesitate to return or to recommend Ardgillan Cottage.

  • Spacious, comfortable home near a fantastic park. Great for families who need a quiet space.

    Lisa2019-08-18T00:00:00Z

    Timothy2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Gerry truly is a superhost! He went out of his way to ensure we had a great stay. The house is large, clean and well stocked. If you want a great house with a great host that is close to the beach and Dublin, this is the place. You will not be disappointed.

The fireplace was heated, candles burned. It was an absolute place to feel good. I was welcomed with tea and home baked cake. During a nice conversation I got great tips for the nearby town of Skerries. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. • Lovely setting, clean and inviting. Gwen was on site during our visit and was very accommodating and welcoming, she was a joy to stay with. Our 9 yr old son was involved in feeding the birds and nature walking with her in the evening. A lovely gesture from a great host. We would recommend Gwen’s place highly and will certaintly return if we are lucky enough to secure her place again. Wifi available, very clean, use of utensils and cooking facilities, bedding and towels available. A beautiful home and setting.

  • I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. I was running a frankly outrageous 2 hours late after 'popping' into Dublin to pick two friends up, Gwen was not hassled by this and reassured me that it was okay. When turning up she was the most delightful host with suggestions for lunch and places to go. When returning later in the afternoon to settle down the fire was lit, food, the kitchen and all facilities in the Lodge were offered. When asking for the best route to walk into the Skerries she suggested walking through the family owned estate/farm that the lodge is built upon... truly magical.. and a 45 minute walk to the harbour restaurants. Comfy bed, clean room and great bathroom and kitchen. I'd recommend this if you'd like to stay out of town somewhere very peaceful and pretty but still be within walking or a 5 minute drive from the Skerries. Thank you Gwen.

    Alex2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen's is a wonderful host. Her newly restore cottage is delightful and has been restored to a high standard. It's just a lovely cozy place to spend time! The breakfast options are excellent also. Location from Dublin airport is great and only 20-25 mins cab ride although it feels like you are much further. We highly recommend this place.

  • Super stay for a French family at Louises place. They appreciated everything about the house, went to the beach etc and had a relaxing last weekend to their Irish holiday.

  • We had a great stay at Louise’s. It was really comfortable to have a proper house for us to use, ideally located in pretty countryside between the Boyne’s valley and Dublin. Louise is a really nice and kind host, easy to reach and though we didn’t meet her, she made sure we could check-in easily. The house itself is big, nicely furnished and comfy. Thank you again for everything Louise !

  • Great place to relax a bit from crowded Dublin. I totally recommend. We had very comfortable stay in this big and stylish house. Just wish in future we will come back in summer so we could use garden in sunny day.
