La Tour du Canal Gîte – Small 13th century castle, facing the Canal du Midi, in an area of more than 2 hectares. Nestled in the heart of olive and almond trees. We open the doors to this very private estate, where there are two castles, one from the 13th century, the other from the 19th century, where we live. The large shaded park is appreciated on hot summer days, and is embellished with a large swimming pool. It is located 10 minutes from the City of Carcassonne and 3 minutes from Trèbes.

Lovely house with courtyard and terrace nr. canal

Our two-bedroom gîte is located in the medieval village of Trebes, close to the Canal du Midi and a good selection of restaurants. It takes a few minutes to cycle and five minutes to walk from the canal to the house. We provide a welcome drinks tray and breakfast for the first morning of your stay. There is a secure, undercover area to store bicycles. Carcassonne and Lac Cavayere can be reached within 15 minutes by car and the airport is a 20 minute drive from the house.

We really enjoyed our stay with Erick and Isabelle - they are wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcome, including organising a tasting of local Corbières wines, and a separate vinegar tasting. The house is beautiful, and very well equipped - for dinner, we could take our pick between bbqing outside on the terrace or cooking in the kitchen. For swimming, we were spoilt for choice, able to swim in the pool as well as in the river below the house. The countryside around the house is great for walks (and the nearby village is easily walkable), but it is quite remote, so a car is needed to get around, and to visit almost any of the nearby sights beyond the village. It was an amazing holiday, and having this great place to stay was a really important part of it!

We had a great time in this very beautiful home, very comfortable, perfectly equipped, with garden and very nice pool. The hosting was very nice. We recommend.

We were hosted very well by Lydie, the cottage was full of charm with its decoration and layout, the garden with a magnificent view of the church, very pleasant with its furniture and swimming pool. Ideally located: close to Carcassonne and other beautiful destinations in the department. Lydie gave us some great tips for visiting the surrounding area.

The bedroom features a spacious bed with a patterned blanket and two pillows. Soft lighting is provided by bedside lamps, while natural light enters through a window. Decorative elements include a woven basket and a minimalist shelving unit with a plant, enhancing the serene setting.
