Cottage vacation rentals in Russell

We had the best family holiday here. We’ve already had a family discussion that it will be a place we return to. The place is clean, uplifting and has all the utilities/services you need. It’s close to local cafes/shops/beaches and jetty for boat trips. The pool and spa was a lovely place to spend time too. I’d highly recommend driving to local beaches and walks to soak up the nature. We’ve left feeling rested and happy.

Lovely home, had everything we needed, walking distance to everything in Russell. Nice pool, Private. Lovely and clean, great layout if you have couples groups/split family.

We had a fantastic stay, this house is perfectly located right in the middle of Russell, yet is quiet with green surroundings. The house is even better in person, the photos don’t do it justice! Check in was easy and our host was so helpful, even bringing over some last minute high chairs and portable cots for our baby. Thank you, if we come to Russell again we will be back!

River Cottage was such a gem! The surroundings were like a jungle, the grounds were beautiful and there was fun activities like board games and kayaks. We were even able to borrow a fishing pole and caught a fish! I enjoyed walking around the farm property and river area. My favorite part was access to a lookout tower off the deck. I made my latte each morning and climbed up there to enjoy it while watching and listening to all the birds. Book this place, it's magical!

Our time at the Shearer’s cottage was absolutely magical. My husband and I stayed with our three children for three nights. We were all utterly delighted when we walked in the door - lots of excited gasps from everyone - the surroundings are gorgeous, the property is thoughtfully appointed and spotlessly clean… far enough from the madding crowd to feel peaceful and secluded, yet still a very convenient drive to Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands. Ian and Anna were very friendly and communicative and made us feel totally welcome. Allow time to make the most of this beautiful place. The dawn chorus is glorious! Make sure you opt in for the spa by the river. We really hope we can visit again. Thank you so much Ian and Anna.

Great location home, very accurately described. Well kitted out in the kitchen, if you have time to use it. There were fabulous restaurants in town. Really lovely for a NZ/Aus family reunion

The bach was lovely, real kiwi bach also Toni was amazing to deal with and left clear instructions on how to get to the bach as well as checking ourselves in Had everything you possibly would need for a trip away I absolutely loved the place and such an awesome area! The beach would be perfect for kids or swimmers who aren't to confident as the waves aren't strong at all but also have the option of a short walk to the end of the beach to a big shallow area with very little to no waves I really recommend this little bach, I fell in love and definitely would stay again!!

Everything was easy, clean and exactly how we expected it. Booking, check in and check out was uncomplicated. Definitely a great spot if you just want to relax and enjoy! Garden, terrace and house are beautiful and the short walk to the beach is amazing. We would definitely recommend this place and come again!

Easily one of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve ever had! So many thoughtful touches and extremely well equipped for our stay with our dog and baby which made our little trip away so lovely. Such a cute charming little stay and excellent value for money, we were also very happy we could book for just one night. The surrounding areas on the property are so peaceful and serene I just wish we had more time to enjoy it!

A beautiful, airy house just steps away from one of the loveliest beaches in Aotearoa. A magic spot. Every facility you could want is there. Comfortable beds, nice linen, a lovely kitchen to cook in if you feel so inclined. The hosts were responsive, friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend highly enough.

This is a beautiful, well equipped house with plenty of space for a big family with children. Great view over the Pomare Bay and vicinity to the center of Russell, which is a lovely little town with lots of shops and restaurants.

This place is a perfect hideaway! It is very secluded and quiet, and has magnificent garden surrounding it. It is only about 5 minute's drive from Russell. I did struggle a wee bit on driveway as did not have a 4WD, but only had a small, quite heavily loaded car! Our friendly host still came and welcomed us even though we arrived later than 6 pm.

The cottage is renovated well and very comfortable with all the amenities. The hosts were very generous with plenty of coffee capsules provided and even a bottle of wine and chocolate gifts. The beds were a dream to sleep on and the linen added another special touch. I would definitely stay again as everything was perfect including the outstanding view over the water. Thank you!

We were so comfortable; quiet, peaceful surroundings; well equipped kitchen with lovely surprise of duck and hens' eggs, organic milk, a variety of teas and regular and decaf coffee. Comfortable sofas and chairs with good back support. Great WIFI. Spotlessly clean throughout. Sister Irini and Prior Rob are warm, friendly people who make you feel part of the place. We won't forget our stay at this wonderful sanctuary. Highly recommend anyone needing a break from a busy daily life- you can really unwind here.

Olive Grove Cottage is one of the best airbnbs that we have stayed (trying hard to recall one that was better). The bathroom had loads of bench space for all our things, the bed was so comfortable, and the kitchen had everything that we needed (including a sharp knife - almost a first!). The two cabins (one for bed and ensuite, and the other the kitchen) were connected by a fabulous expansive patio, partly covered with a sail cloth (just right for a bit of shade from the sun). This patio was a great place to relax, have dinner, and enjoy the view - spectacular. Such a lovely private enclave. To top it off, the herb and vegetable garden were available for what we wanted. Lisa is a fabulous host, who made us feel welcome from our very first contact, with a very quick response time. I couldn't recommend Lisa's place more highly.

Absolutely peaceful place to stay. Sparkling clean and while a walk to all the restaurants and bars there is paddock with cute goats outside. 5 minute walk to all the beaches.

Linda is a great host! The cottage is sparkling clean and quaint. Linda accommodated our family by providing baby toys and offered use of her swimming pool. The AC unit was down during our stay, but Linda kept it cool for us by opening all the windows and doors.

What a beautiful location and fantastic AirBnB! The views from the property are stunning and the place itself is very private. The grounds are just amazing. Short walk to the private beach with access to kayaks and SUPs was a massive plus. Although we got hit by cyclone Tam during our stay this was a very cosy place to ride it out and Lisa was always responsive and helpful with questions. Would definitely recommend!
