Lake side house rentals in Rough River Lake

Our stay was great. Home was clean and had everything we needed. It was very quiet and peaceful. Exactly what we needed. The screened in porch overlooking the lake was wonderful. Saw a couple deer. A little rough getting down to the dock but definitely doable. Jennifer was very responsive and pleasant to work with.

The hosts were great. Answered our questions within the hour. The home was amazing. Thoughtful touches, including lots of extras in the kitchen and bathrooms. Bath towels were luxurious. Decor was tasteful. Space was spotless. Deck and porch were great and we all loved the swing! Arcade games, table tennis, and foosball downstairs were fun for the kids and adults. Beds were comfy too!

Tiffany is an awesome host! I was in a bind and needed a place right away. She responded within minutes and got everything set up and approved in a moments notice. She was very flexible and understanding and really saved the day. I'm super grateful for her, 5/5 user experience! Highly recommend. Michele was extremely helpful and friendly when we ran into a back road situation. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful as well. Felt like we were treated as family instead of strangers. The place was comfortable, clean, felt just like home, peaceful and was extremely close to Lake Nolin. Our son and nephew enjoyed fishing and just hanging out with one another. Mammoth Caves is only a half hour drive and there were even tourist pamphlets and restaurant recommendations as well inside this Airbnb. Thank you so much for your kindness and going above and beyond for when we needed your help. Will definitely come back and stay again. You and your husband are 5 star hosts!!!

Christy’s place exceeded expectations! Inside was clean and living area was spacious. Perfect for a weekend getaway with friends or family. Kayaks are available for use as long as you do not mind a short hike downhill to the lake.

Amy and Matt are amazing hosts and their house is absolutely beautiful! The weather was very rainy but the porch was great for enjoying a rainy day. This house is as beautiful as the photos and Amy and Matt are hosts that go above and beyond! Can't recommend it (and them) enough!

the surroundings outside were serene and the inside was cozy. It was the perfect place to stay. We are from out of state and we're visiting with family in the area. The home made me wish we visited when it was warmer and that we had a boat. It was above and beyond what we needed but I am grateful we had a peaceful place to come to at the end of the day.

The cabin is beautiful. My family had a wonderful time. We can't wait to come back again.

Justin's place is perfect in every way. Short walk to the lake, two beautiful fire pits, comfortable beds, and plenty of room to roam. Justin is also an awesome guy and was there to answer any questions we had before and during our stay. I would highly recommend booking!

Excellent communication from the host! The house was clean and comfortable. The host has provided lots of thoughtful details such as charging cables, cozy throw blankets, and labels on the light switches. Nearest grocery stores are 25-30 minutes away, so stock up on provisions before you get there.

The cabin at Cub Run was a perfect get away for our family! It is a beautiful, clean cabin with everything we needed and more! Kevin was great with communication and we had all of our check in and check out information in a timely manner. It was about a 45 minute drive to the Mammoth Cave visitor center and we loved sitting around the campfire in the evening. There are neighbors nearby but it was very peaceful and quiet. If we head back to the area we would definitely stay there again!

We had a lovely stay at the Treehouse. Plenty of room for our family of 5. My kids, aged 10-14, loved it (shrieks of delight would be an accurate description of their first impression). The kitchen is small but functional, we made breakfast and dinner there every day. The lack of a TV was a bonus, as we played games and put together puzzles for fun. Kids enjoyed exploring the property down to the lake. A couple of notes: we visited in June 2025 after the historic spring flooding. Presumably related to this, part of the dock was underwater, so we could not easily access the lake from the property. We planned to visit Nolan state park beach, an easy 10-15 min drive away, but that was also closed because of flood damage “at least until mid July 2025, and maybe the entire season.” Just to be aware, since my kids were disappointed not to be able to swim in the lake. Easy access to Mammoth Cave Natl Park. Charcoal grill and nice fire pit on site.

This cabin was everything we were looking for. It is so beautiful and I immediately felt right at home. It also smelled so good when first walking in. There is alot to do at this cabin with all of the board games, cards, hott tub, arcade games and more! My family had a few intense rounds of Uno! Gabby is also very responsive and so nice which is always a plus! I don't have one negative thing to say about our stay. It was peaceful and relaxing and I would definitely stay at this beautiful cabin again!

Beautiful countryside and place. We felt so at home. Exactly what we expected and needed for our stay. Pristine clean and the mattress was amazing. It’s exactly as pictured.

The setting is spectacular! We enjoyed the well groomed walking trails and ponds. The fishing is fabulous! The hosts are amazing! Lisa and Jack felt like family from the start. The accommodations are very comfortable. The towels are super soft, the bed and linens are pleasing. The kitchen is stocked and ready for preparing delicious meals. We will definitely be back!

Marissa was so responsive… and we were placed in the middle of Bluegrass country was simply amazing! I spent two days at Mammoth Caves National Park, and one day at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame, jamming with other musicians, and one day at the Bill Monroe museum and homeplace in Rosine, Kentucky… It was an amazing! adventure!

We greatly enjoyed our stay here! The property is set back in a peaceful little area. Everything was clean and felt very homey. We especially enjoyed David's lovable Husky, Crusoe! He hung out with us for a bit while we relaxed on the porch 😁 Overall a cute and clean place to stay. Would highly recommend!

Our stay at the Hotel Alexander could not have been better. The accommodations, location, and comfort were top notch. We are already planning a return trip!
