Kowhai Retreat

We are a working professional couple who have lived in Taupo for 30 years. We have both been vaccinated for the Covid pandemic. We would like to wish a warm welcome to singles or couples. We do not accommodate infants, children or animals. We are a hop, skip and a jump from the stunning Taupo lake front and easy 25 minute stroll in to town, 3 minutes by car. Happy to host short or longer stays. Super convenient location for our Taupo events!

Quiet rural sleep out Look out at paddocks rather than into your neighbours window! Located 15mins from Taupo town centre, only a couple of kms off the main State highway 1, is our quiet rural sleep out. This sleep out is attached to a large shed (that we use and is not included in the Airbnb rental) and is at the bottom of our long driveway, so nice and private.

Mike and Carlé were such lovely hosts. They were so hospitable to us having our baby there with having a high chair and baby bath available. There were so many helpful and lovely touches like bathroom amenities, milk in the fridge, cereals available, coffee and treats etc. Highly recommend.

We had a great time living at this property. Our biggest highlight was spa tub ,it was so relaxing in the comfort of home with the lake view.During night it looked beautiful watching the stars. No matter the rain we still enjoyed every part of the day. Property was very convenient to stay as everything is just 10 minutes away.Don was very responsive to all our needs and really helpful. Great value for money.I will definitely visit again as property had everything we could ask for ❤️

Kylie and Dan’s Lochside Retreat was absolutely beautiful! It was cozy, tidy and a very inviting space to relax. It was just as described however more stunning in person! Kylie and Dan had left added touches with treats, a prepared fire and candles for the outside bath. A personalised note was left on arrival. I would 100% recommend. Thank you Kylie and Dan!
