Family-friendly vacation rentals in Roscommon County

Extremely unique layout and design of house. The house easily accommodated our whole party and the deck, hot tub, River, and kitchens were wonderful. The house is fully stocked with all amenities that other AirBnBs often lack like towels, toiletries, kitchen appliances/basic spice/condiments. The property is densely forested and feels very secluded. Great stay.

I booked this beautiful home after my first reservation and host cancelled on me due to the storms. Well, I can say… we are so happy with our stay. It was exactly as described and even better than expected. April really is a one of a kind host, so good that I had to take notes for my own Air bnb adventure. She thought of everything! I’ve never had a better stocked kitchen. We always cook and make a big meal and we sure did not want for anything. We were even greeted with a local baked good and extra sheets and blankets for the dogs. These hosts were the best I’ve had in Michigan, if not the whole country. I’m thankful for people who truly consider someone’s stay and thinks of it all. Thank you again to the hosts. The Cabin was spotless and one of my favorite features was the deer lights.

Bill was a very nice and responsive host, giving us anything from movie recommendations to good restaurants in the area. Any time I messaged him with questions he messaged back within the hour. The house was just as beautiful as expected and very well cleaned and maintained. I definitely plan on going back in the future!

What an absolute "gem" in the woods. We couldn't have asked for a better host. Jennifer was very receptive and periodically checked "to make sure" everything was okay. The house was in a secluded and quiet wooded neighborhood. There is something to be said about enjoying a hot cup of coffee sitting and the porch and taking in the sights and sounds of autumn and the smell of the fallen leaves. The dogs had a great time exploring the fenced in yard. I have a passion for cooking and found the kitchen supplied with an abundant supply of cooking utensils and pots and pans with a large kitchen table to sit down and enjoy those dishes. Quiet time in the evenings were spent watching movies in the family rooms. The house is centrally located and never more than an hour away from our daily adventures in various areas in the state. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and would gladly stay here again.

We loved their cabin it was exactly as described very Charming, very accommodating wish we had time to use The Kayaks the hosts were very responsive with with communication. We even left some personal belongings there and they graciously sent it to us immediately. Truly loved their cabin and I'm hoping to use it again this summer. I would highly recommend this cabin

This was our second time staying at Jennifer's place. We absolutely love it! It is perfect for our family of 4. A short walk down the driveway and you are at a park, beach, and fishing dock. The beach is great! The water is clear and no seaweed. My son and I caught small blue gills at the fishing dock, and my daughter loves the park. Also, be sure to check out The Depot (10 min walk) for ice cream and pizza! Well be back!

Our family took our spring break vacation at this wonderful place! We were able to unplug from the real world and enjoy time together! The location was wonderful! Even though it was cold, we had the game room downstairs and a bunch of board games that were provided by Brenda! The best part was the VHS tapes that our children never had seen before. The kids loved it as much as we did! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Enjoyed our stay. Comfortable beds, fully furnished house. Close to town. Just one note, The photos make it look more private than it is although the yard sizes are larger. Just depends on your perspective of private.

William’s cabin was stocked with everything we needed to stay 4 days while working, and playing visiting clients in Traverse City. The location was beyond what we expected and our dogs LOVED playing in the open yard and snow. We would for sure stay here again, thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay at Matt’s place with our dog. It was exactly the tranquil, comfortable and enjoyable getaway we needed. Beautiful views of the lake. Loved relaxing on the large deck while our dog was able to safely explore, thanks to the fenced in yard. Super clean inside, everything we could need. Our vacation started as soon as we arrived. Great location too as it’s a short drive to several nice parks and trails in Gladwin and the surrounding towns. We highly recommend Matt and his place!

Best vacation get away ever. This place is perfect for unplugging and enjoying the outdoors. We wanted to extend our time at the river house and hope to make it an annual trek!

Michelle's Cabin was fantastic! It was the perfect place for our family to stay for a few days! Michelle was extremely helpful before and during our stay to ensure our group had everything needed to enjoy some family time on Higgins Lake! The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of room for our family to sit down to have quality time throughout our vacation. Michelle offers two kayaks for use while staying at the cabin, wifi access, two Roku TV's, an outdoor area with firepit, as well as an indoor fireplace and a breezeway with a table so you can still have a meal outdoors and stay dry if it were to rain. We would definitely stay at Michelle's cabin again!

A beautiful location! Kip was great! He and his family are super friendly and helpful. The cottage had everything you could possibly need. Hope to stay again!

Dorothea and her husband Glenn were fantastic hosts. They seemed just as excited as us to be there. Dorothea was very kind and outgoing, and very accommodating. Even checked in on us mid-way to make sure everything was to our liking. The location was just a few blocks away from Higgins lake, and house had a very neat theme and was immaculate. Our favorite part of the trip was seeing a family of deer every day and night! Thanks again. I would highly recommend!

5⭐️!! The pictures do this home no justice. It is even more beautiful and spacious in person. Michelle is a phenomenal host and very communicative. She went above and beyond to make sure we would have a great stay. without a doubt, we will be back. very, very, very clean!

This home was absolutely perfect for a weekend away with family and friends! All of the amenities were as listed. The home itself and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. It was amazing to fish out on the dock. The sunset over Houghton lake is just absolutely stunning!! Tim was a great host. Communication from Tim was 5 stars in its own. Home was very clean and comfortable. We barbecued and made dinner every night. Utensils, pots and pans, spices, etc. everything needed for cooking was provided. Firewood was available on site, $5 per bundle. Very convenient and cheap! Dog friendly too! We will definitely be back

We truly enjoyed our stay at Dot! The place was super clean & tidy. Our mini getaway was so peaceful. Michelle was a fantastic host! Very communicative & friendly. We hope to come back next year!!
