“Staying at the yurt was truly a wonderful + unique experience we won’t soon forget, and one we would definitely recommend to nature + outdoors enthusiasts. The yurt is beautifully decorated and surprisingly functional. We stayed for 2 weeks and it had everything we needed to cook all our own meals in the kitchen/grill area AND have hot showers in a impressive bathroom set-up with expansive woods & nature just steps away to explore. The waterfall is beautiful and we spent many evenings sitting on the rocks watching the sunset & listening to the birds sing after hiking the property. There’s a family of deer living in the forest if you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse! Gisela has really thought of everything and we would highly recommend checking out this very special property if you have the chance!”

It's just 12 minutes by taxi from the New Paltz Bus Station or bring your bike up and cycle everywhere!
“We were looking for a peaceful getaway during these challenging times and the Yellow Cottage was simply perfect. The space was very clean and thoughtfully designed with — and there are helpful little signs explaining all details of the house along with an informative binder about the surrounding area. We enjoyed the front lawn area for our young son to run around safely and there is a great picnic bench that looks out into the clearing in the back with endless trees, daffodils and bluebells — we felt like we were miles away from the city. At night, the fairy lights attached to the hedges came on and the sound of crickets and frogs made it really magical. The kitchen was nicely stocked below with everything you need to cook meals and there is also a washer/dryer, which is a huge plus given that we were there for over a week. Our favorite feature was the super comfortable bed where we spent many days reading their wonderful selection of books. There is also cable TV and access to movies that was so nice during our rainy days. The hosts were very responsive throughout our stay and shared with us the history of the place — the cottage was a chicken hatchery over 100 years ago!! We had mentioned how lovely it was to have an Abraham Lincoln stained glass window at the pinnacle of the structure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Yellow Cottage!”

“The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed to feel “at home” for the weekend. The host was quick to respond and his instructions to get there and get in were clear and easy. The windows overlooking the water was breathtaking and helped us relax. This Airbnb is perfect for anyone, but especially people who live in NYC and want to escape into nature with modern day amenities. I would definitely go back.”
