This building was once a church and then the firehouse for the Village of Richmondville. The owner, an artist, renovated the building in 2007-2008 to use as her home and studio (on the first floor). Love has enabled this unique property to be available as an Airbnb rental. Situated on a large corner lot, the building feels very private, but is close to amenities and Interstate 88. There is also a waterfall behind the property.
“What a cool gem of a place! So much more spacious than what I expected. There is such thoughtful decorative touches throughout the space. Huge kitchen with everything you need to make a meal. Fridge was even stocked with breakfast goods! Such an awesome touch. The property is beautiful with not one, but two waterfalls. The sound was so calming and the waterfalls felt like they were your own. Diana was easy to communicate with and quickly accessible to answer any questions. I highly recommend spending time at her space.”
Get away from it all in this secluded off-grid cabin. Inspired by traditional lean -tos and modern Swedish design. This minimal space features a wall of windows that makes you feel like you are sleeping in the trees, while staying cozy and dry! Relax, unplug, and listen to the nearby stream, birds, & the rustle of leaves.
“This was a spectacular visit, and space. Simple, clean, unique and just too short of a time there. It was a quick visit between COVID quarantine stays. We will be back, to truly enjoy. Our hosts Yona and Elan were fantastic. We loved the spot. Love hearing how it was built by them, with wood cut from the property, and milled by the hosts!!!! Waking up to the sunrise was a remarkable start to our day, and also started the regret of leaving so soon after learning of this great, great find. Too short a time there ... will be back, to explore!!!”

“Karen is an attentive host. She is a positive and caring person. I enjoyed our "coffee talks' each morning. Her "Butterfly House" is conveniently located to down town and Route 145. It is clean and comfortable. It's a place where you can feel "right at home". This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Karen's place in the past year- when visiting family in the Cobleskill area. It will be my first place I check for availability when returning to the area.”
